Apache Bridge HTTP POST problems on large file upload

I have a problem uploading files larger than quarter a mega, the jsp
page does a POSTto a servlet which reads the input stream and writes to
a file.
Configuration: Apache webserver 1.3.12 connected to the Weblogic 5.1
application server via the bridge(mod_wl_ssl.so) from WebLogic Service
pack 4.
The upload goes on for about 30 secs and throws the following error.
"Failure of WebLogic APACHE bridge:
IO error writing POST data to 100.12.1.2:7001; sys err#: [32] sys err
msg [Broken pipe]
Build date/time: Jul 10 2000 12:29:18 "
The same upload(in fact I uploaded a 8 MEG file) using the
Netscape(NSAPI) WebLogicconnector.
Any answers would be deeply appreciated.

  • How would I do a http post with a xml file

    How would I do a http post with a xml file.
    I have a url called https://localhost:8443/wss/WSS and the XML file is sent as part of the HTTP POST body.
    How would I send this XML file when posting?

    most people just add feedback to the comments they've asked about already, rather than ignoring all the feedback and making a new post with the exact same information:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5247331&messageID=10020973#10020973
    If you want to add in an XML file to a POST command, you'd add it just like any other file you'd attach to a post request, especially (if you're request is the same as your last post) if you're just doing a jsp page. I'd do it something like this:
    <form method=POST ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data" action="https://rcpdm.mnb.gd-ais.com/Windchill/servlet/IE/tasks/DJK/fcsAddContentComplete.xml">
    <H3> File Name </H3>
    <input type=file name=filename>
    <input type=submit value="Do it!">
    </form>Then again, this solution has literally nothing to do with java, and you still need to make sure that your servlet knows what to actually do with that information you're sending it.

  • Large File Upload ~50mb Fails using Firefox/Safari. Upload Limit is 1gig set at Web App. IIS timeout set at 120 seconds.

    Strange issue.  User can upload the file using IE9, but cannot do the same using Safari, Chrome, or FireFox.  The library resides in a Site Collection that was migrated from a 2010 Site Collection.  The timeout on IIS is 120 seconds.Very strange
    indeed.
    Haven't been able to trace the Correlation ID at this point.

    try using rest api for this much file upload if you are using custom solution.

  • Is it possible for ODi to do a "https post" of an xml file?

    Hi,
    We would like to use ODI to read from a VIEW and within ODI transform to a target using an XSD to generate an XML file and then do a HTTPS POST. Would be grateful for any pointers.
    we also ran into issues while transforming using a target xsd. Listed below:
    Use Case Context: In an ODI interface, Data from a database view is mapped to a target XSD schema. A package is then created, wherein, in the first step, this interface is executed. Then, in the second and final step, data transferred to the target XSD schema is saved as an XML file using OdiSqlUnload function.
    Problems faced in the above mentioned use case:
    When the data from the target XSD schema is saved as an XML file using OdiSqlUnload function, the XML does not match the XSD, which was initially imported into ODI.

  • Problems copying large files to external disks

    I have a lot of media and so multiple USB and network based external hard disks.
    I'm having trouble with two in particular that are recent buys. I initially mounted them via a USB hub onto my Time Capsule, but when I had errors, I've now tried mounting them directly to my MacBook Air - and for comparison directly to a Windows laptop.
    And I'm only having problems when it's a Mac doing the copying (MBA to either USB mounted via Time Capsule or directly USB mounted on the MBA).
    The problem is that the drive appears to behave OK for initial copies - but I'm trying to put a set of old movies (captured from a VCR ages ago that I'd recorded off TV) onto one of the drives and (a) it takes ages to copy and (b) eventually I get a write failure. The specific error message is
    The Finder can't complete the operation because some data in "" can't be written. (Error code -36)
    I"ve tried a whole variety of setups - as I've said via Time Capsule and directly mounted. I also wondered if the file system on the drive would make a difference. Out of the box it was formatted with FAT32 and when that failed I've now reformatted with MacOS file system - which I would have thought would give better compatibility (and I've read that FAT32 has a large file size limit - although I think it's 4GB and while I do have one file at 4.04GB, it's not failing the copy on that file).
    I've also connected the drive (when formatted FAT32) to a Windows laptop and (a) it copies faster and (b) it copies successfully.
    Any suggestions for this? Is there some kind of large file (all are >1GB) copy issue with USB mounted devices in OSX?

    As I mentioned in my original post while the disks were originally formatted FAT32 I reformatted then and changed them to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) so that isn't the issue. I still have the problem with the disks using Apple format.
    I've noticed that if I do the copy in pieces, it seems to work. I.e. if I select the full set of 45GB in one copy and paste operation (dragging and dropping using Finder) it fails part way through.
    But if I copy 3/4 movies at a time going back until I have copied all of them then I can get all of them on the disk.
    It suggests to me it's some kind of issue with copying and pasting a very large amount of data in Snow Leopard?

  • Http POST problem

    Hello,
    I have googled and also have spoken alot with people on IRC but we are all at a loss with it.
    I want to write a small tool that creates a picture (screenshot) of the current screen and then automatically uploads it to http://www.imageshack.us/index.html and returns the url to the picture in some way.
    The problem is that i don't know how to get the upload working. I have read Sun's one-site-tutorial (but their cgi-thingie that was set up to try it out has been taken off). Then i tried it using imageshacks register-site, the url is: http://reg.imageshack.us/content.php?page=register
    I simply changed the url to that and i also changed
    out.println("string=" + stringToReverse);to
    out.println("email1=abc");(email1 is the first textfield)
    It should give me the "The two email fields do not match - please try again"-like-site. But it just gives me the site from the beginning (http://reg.imageshack.us/content.php?page=register).
    So, whats wrong here? Also i wonder how to split email1 and email2 (with the "&" or writing "\r\n"?
    I finally found working code that confuses me, url: http://www.cs.umd.edu/class/fall2004/cmsc424-0201/ta/examples/Validator.java
    The httpC.setRequestMethod codelines seem alright, but...
        s = "--" + boundary + eol
          + "Content-Disposition: form-data; name=\"ss\"" + eol
          + "Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" + eol
          + eol + 1 + eol
          + "--" + boundary + eol
          + "Content-Disposition: form-data; name=\"uploaded_file\"; filename=\""
          + args[0] + "\"" + eol
          + "Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" + eol + eol;and
        out.writeBytes( eol + "--" + boundary + "--" + eol);eh?)
    I have no idea what this is for, if its asked by imageshack or if its standard when sending the file, what would i write there if i want to upload an image? It confuses me. I'm at a loss what to do now.
    Greetings from germany!

    A file upload through HTTP is handled by using a multipart request. A multipart requests consists of MIME headers, which is partly what is in that last piece of code.
    I suggest you look into the HttpClient package, I believe it can do a file upload for you. Otherwise look into the file upload and mime RFC's, they might give you some clues. (RFC = request for comment)
    http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/httpclient/
    (checking the example code, there is a MultipartFileUploadApp example)

    I would like to send an HTTP Request with an XML File in the body to an SAP System
    I have the target URL and the a XML File.
    Now the question is. Is it possible to use something like the HTTP_POST FuBa to send an url post request with an xml file?
    If yes can anybody give me a hint?
    I have a php script which exactly do this coding. But to integrate it all in one system it is necessary to transform it into ABAP and call it there.
    // compose url and request and call send function
    function test($productID, $categoryID) {
         // create url

         $PIurl .= "&qos=EO";
         $PIurl .= "&sap-user=XXX";
         $PIurl .= "&sap-password=XXX";
         // create xml
         $request = "<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\"?>\n";

         $request .= "\t\t<MessageID/>\n";
         $request .= "\t</FrontendInbound>\n";
         $request .= "</n1:FrontendInbound_MessageType>";
         // send http request

    // send post request to PI server
    function postToHost($host, $port, $path, $referer, $data_to_send) {
      $fp = fsockopen($host, $port);
      if($fp) {
           $res="";

    Would be great if anybody could give me a hint how to solve such a HTTP Post request with XML body data.

  • PROBLEM SAVING LARGE FILES ON ACROBAT READER XI

    I download a largish document (70 - 100 MB) from the on-line storage folder of a friend. But am unable to save it on my PC. I have the recent version of Acrobat Reader 11.0.5 on a PC using Windows 8 and this opens this or any other pdf file without problem. But as soon as I go to save the large files the programme crashes with a 'There's a problem' notice. I then discover it has saved a file name but without file content. Any ideas how I can tackle this problem? Colin

    "Online storage" - does that mean a website that is accessed via a browser?  If so, you can download the document by right-clicking on the link to the PDF, then select 'Save link as' or 'Save target as'.

  • CF8.01 Large Files Upload issue

    We are having an issue with posting large files to the server
    through CFFile. Our server is running on Windows 2003 R2 SP2 with
    2GB of RAM. The average upload size is 800MB and we may run into
    multiple simultaneous uploads with the large file size. So, we have
    adjusted the "Maximum size of post data" to 2000 MB and "Request
    Throttle Memory" to 5000 MB in the ColdFusion admin setting to
    hopefully can allow up to 5 simultaneous uploads.
    However, when we tried to launch two 800MB uploads at the
    same time from different machines, only one upload can get through.
    The other one returned "Cannot connect to the server" error after a
    few minutes. No errors can be found in the W3C log and the
    ColdFusion logs (coldfusion-out.log and exception.log) but it is
    reported in the HTTPErr1.log with the following message:

    Can anyone shed some light of it? Thanks!

    Thanks for ur reply but i have tried it by using

    I would imagine that this has to do with you reading the entire file into memory to send it via HTTP.  This would be a limitation of the WebKit implentation that currently exists.  I don't know if it has been fixed in the latest AIR 2.0 beta that just got pushed out onto Labs.
    Ultimatly, you may want to take one of these OSS projects you found (the as3httpclientlib looks most promising), and compile a very small flash app that co-exists in your JS AIR app.  You would be able to call it directly from JS, and use the functions that you expose just like the rest of the API's that exist in the AIR framework.

    Do I need to set anything in the web server or app server? Any help is appreciated.

    Be sure to rollback to 16.0.1; the initial v16 update had serious security flaw.

  • Tips or tools for handling very large file uploads and downloads?

    I am working on a site that has a document repository feature. The documents are stored as BLOBs in an Oracle database and for reasonably sized files its not problem to stream the files out directly from the database. For file uploads, I am using the Struts module to get them on disk and am then putting the blob in the database.
    We are now being asked to support very large files of 250MB+. I am concerned about problems I've heard of with HTTP not being reliable for files over 256MB. I'd also like a solution that would give the user a status bar and allow for restarts of broken uploads or downloads.
    Does anyone know of an off-the-shelf module that might help in this regard? I suspect an ActiveX control or Applet on the client side would be necessary. Freeware or Commercial software would be ok.
    Thanks in advance for any help/ideas.

    Hi. There is nothing wrong with HTTP handling 250MB+ files (per se).
    However, connections can get reset.
    Consider offering the files via FTP. Most FTP clients are good about resuming transfers.
    Or if you want to keep using HTTP, try supporting chunked encoding. Then a user can use something like 'GetRight' to auto resume HTTP downloads.
    Hope that helps,
    Peter
