Apply mailto: link in accordion content tab

I would like to create a special "mailto:" link in the email
section of the accordion on the page listed below.
I want it to mail to the email address listed in the XML data
record AS WELL AS to a second address. (I don't want the second
address displayed in the content panel)
I'm new at this but I've gotten pretty good at just copying
and pasting code into my files, so long as I know WHICH FILE and
WHERE to paste it. I think I need to add another line in each XML
record and then add some kind of an "a href=" type code somewhere
in my HTML file. I've pasted the first bit of my XML file below.
My attempts resulted in making ALL of my content panels link
to the content email address selected (I've since fixed it and put
it back to normal - without any link). I would really appreciate it
if someone could layout the specifics of what I need to do and
where. Thank you so much.
BTW, You might notice that I dealt with the IE li ul list
problem (in the upper menu) by just "designing" the menu to look
like the ugly IE version because I couldn't figure out how to make
it look half-way decent in IE when it was designed to look nice in
Safari and Firefox! Grrr.

Mrs. Dollywobbler,
THANK YOU! It took me a LOT of tries and variations but I did
it, thanks to your model. It's interesting to note that with all of
these experts in this forum answering VERY complex questions, it
was only another newbie that took the time to help me. Again, thank
you!
Now, I'd like to find out how to make it send an email to one
recipient and also send to a BLIND COPY recipient. I'll work on it.
Here's the code I ended up using in case someone else needs
it.

  • Firefox won't open mailto links in a new window like it used to...it just opens gmail in the current tab.

    I recently upgraded firefox and now whenever I click a mailto link it opens gmail in the current tab rather than in a new window. How can I get it to open email links in a new window.

    My MAILTO problem was finally fixed on the June 29, 2012 Firefox version 14 beta 10 release.

  • Mailto links open google (desired) but load in current tab, moving away from website, and cannot hit "back" button to return.

    I have firefox set to open "mailto" links, which is desired. However, when clicking the link, the gmail compose window opens in the current tab/window, and therefore leaves the website. Most of the time, the "back" button is not active, so I cannot get back to the website. The back button issue does not happen 100% for some reason.
    To further explain, this is a website I am creating, so I am not sure if the fault lies with my code or in the google mailto option in firefox. (Code shown below)
    >>>>>
    <a class="email" href="mailto:[email protected]">email: [email protected]</a>
    >>>>>
    I tried using a target in the mailto link, but they seem not to work with mailto links like they do for links to other webpages. (Code shown below)
    >>>>>
    <a class="email" href="mailto:[email protected]" target="_blank">email: [email protected]</a>
    ---or---
    <a class="email" href="mailto:[email protected]" target="_new">email: [email protected]</a>

    Any pointers will help. Is my code bad? Or if the problem is with firefox's way of handling mailto links, is there a way to code to get around this?

    I don't wanna claim total credit for it. I remember seeing someone mentioned a Back button problem with McAfee Add-on in the forum. I dismissed it initially because it seems far-fetched...

  • How can I force mailto: links to open my webmail client in a new tab?

    I have configured Firefox 5 to use my Hotmail account as the default client when clicking 'mailto:' links. I would like to know if it is possible to have my webmail client open in a new tab by default when composing a message, so as not to navigate away from the page I was viewing.

    Open a new tab. In the address bar type; '''''About:Config''''' and press
    enter. If you get a page that warns you about continuing, press the
    '''''I will be careful''''' button. In the search bar, type; '''''Newtab'''''.
    Look for; '''''Browser.newtab.url'''''. Right click and select '''''Modify'''''.
    Type; '''''About:home''''' (or what ever page you want) and press
    enter. That should do it.

  • How to set different navigation items for each content tab in xMII portal

    Hi,
    Scenario : I have added three content tabs in the xMII portal.
    I want to change the items in the navigation tree when each of the content tabs are selected.
    How is this possible?
    Please help.

    Vaishali,
    The built-in navigation tree is not intended for this sort of thing, where just like with the tabs it is intended to provide role/user based content links.
    You would be better off having your content tab link pass a criteria to the default target frame and allow a web page to give you the second level of dynamics.  Your content tab links could be something quite simple like "Page.irpt?Tree=1", "Page.irpt?Tree=2", "Page.irpt?Tree=3" and your irpt page would receive the Tree property and you could react accordingly in your web page.

  • When I click on a link, it opens in a new tab, FF3.6, would open a link in the same tab, unless Iwanted it in a new tab.

    Any link that isn't a button, opens in a new tab.

    I don't know of this behavior being changed just by going to Firefox 4.0, basically this is difficult to do if you want that behavior.
    '''Middle-click''' defaults in Firefox to opening a link in a new tab (I override through the system to be "Enter")
    Do the links open '''into separate tabs''' or do they open into the '''same different tab''' (like in Google searches).
    Does this happen from any web page. Normal preferences (but maybe not default) used from search bar, and search results.
    Firefox 4.0 introduced '''app-tabs''' which are pinned or unpinned from the tab context menu (right-click on tab). A pinned tab would not show the title on the tab and shows the favicon centered on a narrowed tab. Links opened from pinned tabs open in a new tab, does not apply to use of keyword shortcuts -- not links.
    "'''Perma Tabs Plus'''" extension could do that but you would have to invoke it for each tab, though isn't of much/any use in Firefox 4.0 although it did work differently it is or was not working same with Firefox 4.0 (though I still have it active).
    "'''Tabs Mix Plus'''" fiddles around with a lot of things almost anything could happen and it could leave things permanently switched (if you have it check it's options; I would never recommend the extension).
    Try bringing up Firefox once in "'''Safe Mode'''" to see if that behavior disappears. Firefox 4 can help you with that quickly though Help ("Alt+H") -> "'''Restart with add-ons disabled..'''." this method will bring up safe mode for only the one time, then back to normal. This may not affect all things changed in "Tabs Mix Plus" but otherwise if things work properly in safe mode it generally means an extension was involved.
    If an extension is involved the first place I look is "'''[http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions Problematic extensions]''' " then the process of whittling down possibilities by disabling/reenabling half of enabled/disabled extensions described in ''' Extension issues''' within "'''[http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_(Firefox)#Extension_issues Standard diagnostic - Firefox - MozillaZine Knowledge Base]''' ".

  • Is there a way to autoscroll the current accordion content to top of browser window?

    So this is a topic I have seen brought up but never solved….
    I have an accordion on my site which displays content larger than the browser window, so when you scroll down to the bottom of the content box and get to the next accordion topic and click on it stays in the same place in the broswer window however since the prior accordion content closes it leaves you scrolled half way down on the current content.
    So is there a way to bind an action where it autoscrolls and brings the browser to the top of the clicked accordion content?
    here you see the window scrolled to the bottom of the first accordion content and the second showing its hover state…. when you click on the "So i made.." content it leaves you with this...
    the middle of the second accordion content, causing you to have to scroll up to the top of it to continue reading….
    I found this jquery scrpit which supposedly would do it.  However since Muse exports is scripts differently it doesnt apply.
    $('.ui-accordion').bind('accordionchange', function(event, ui) {
                ui.newHeader // jQuery object, activated header
                ui.oldHeader // jQuery object, previous header
                ui.newContent // jQuery object, activated content
                ui.oldContent // jQuery object, previous content
                $('html, body').animate({scrollTop: $(ui.newHeader).offset().top}, 1);
    So now I need some help...
    Thx
    -Eric

    Hello,
    You can achieve this using the Anchors feature of Muse. Please follow the steps below :
    - Click on Anchor option in the toolbar as shown in the image :
    - Now click on the location on the webpage which you want to be the top of the page when click on Accordian panel triggers.
    - It will place the Anchor on that location. Now it will ask you to rename the anchor. Please rename the anchor to something convenient.
    - Now click on the first Accordian trigger and in the "Hyperlink" option in  the toolbar at the top, from the dropdown select the Anchor which you have added.
    - Do same for all the Accordian triggers.
    Now preview in a browser to see the results. Whenever you click on the Accordian trigger it will move to the location on the page where you have placed the anchor.
    Note : There is a known issue with the Anchors feature not working with Safari 6 (The latest version of Safari). It is a known bug and is likely to get fixed in future versions. You can test it using other Browsers.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Sachin

  • I want to display a url link in only one tab of the tabstrip in webdynpro ?

    I want to display a url link in only one tab of the tabstrip in webdynpro view?  How do we do this?

    so in that tab of the tabstrip use LinkToUrl UI
    The LinkToURL UI element is a hypertext link. When you choose this link, you are directed to a user-defined Web resource (URL).
    The LinkToUrl is used to exclusively to open URLs in a separate window. To leave the Web Dynpro application and display a new URL use an exit plug.
    1.in ur UI create  tabs as u desire
    2. In each TAB , add ViewContainer . ViewContainer you would be able to add inside tab.
    3. Now create as many views as you have created Tabs.
    4. Embed views into the corresponding ViewContainers , in ur first view embed link to URL

  • .js update of spry accordion panel tab data for countdown functionality

    Hi,
    First off I must say I really love the work done on CS3 and
    the Spry Framework - loads of examples and nicely implemented!
    Questions in a nutshell:
    Can I change spry generated data on the fly so I can run a
    .js counter function to dynamically update accordion panel data?
    What event do I look for to fire a .js init function to see my new
    spry widget (onPostLoad isn't working for me, but I'm a newbie!)?
    * spry accordion
    * {expire} dataset data is SQL DATETIME
    * js countdown function CD_Init() searches DOM for specific
    element IDs 'countdownN' and uses innerHTML to update counter at
    specific interval
    * observer onPostLoad seems to be calling CD_Init before
    accordion DOM is loaded.
    Verbose questions:
    I am trying to tweek the output of a Spry Acoordion and
    wanted to add a third party js counter to my accordion panel tab
    and am having a bit of difficulty. The js code uses an innerHTML
    statement to keep the counter going and supports multiple counters
    (which I need to use one counter per tab). I build the multiple
    counter id from the ds_RowID field which is where the parent div
    element where the js changes the innerHTML. Can I do this? The .js
    searches for elements w/ an ID of "countdownN", N = instance # and
    a date format of '2007-09-08 00:00:00 GMT+00:00' and updates the
    div's text with the countdown time. My {expire} record below is an
    SQL DATETIME which is the correct format for this countdown.js
    function (with the GMT-05:00 appended).
    The relavant code is:
    <div id="specialDisplay" spry:region="dsSpecials">
    <h3>Click on a special below from our <em>LIVE
    FEED</em>  to see all the up-to-the-moment
    exciting packages available!</h3>
    <div id="AccordionSpecials" class="Accordion">
    <div class="AccordionPanel" spry:repeat="dsSpecials">
    <div class="AccordionPanelTab"
    onclick="dsSpecials.setCurrentRowNumber('{dsSpecials::ds_RowID}')"
    spry:hover="AccordionPanelLabelHover"><?php echo '<div
    id="countdown' .'{ds_RowID}'. '">';?>{expire}
    GMT-05:00</div>{dsSpecials::name}</div> <!--
    accordion panel tab -->
    <div class="AccordionPanelContent">
    <div spry:state="loading"><img
    src="./i/ajax-loader.gif"/></div> <!-- loading -->
    <div spry:state="error"><span spry:content="Error
    loading data..."></span></div> <!-- error -->
    <div id="details" spry:state="ready"
    spry:content="{detail}"></div> <!-- detail when ready
    -->
    </div> <!--accordion panel content -->
    </div> <!-- accordion panel -->
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    var AccordionSpecials = new
    Spry.Widget.Accordion("AccordionSpecials", { defaultPanel: 0,
    duration: 1000, useFixedPanelHeights: false, enableAnimation:true }
    var observer = { onPostLoad: function(notifier, data) {
    CD_Init() ; /*alert("postLoad"); */} };
    //specialDisplay dsSpecials.addObserver(observer);
    Spry.Data.Region.addObserver("specialDisplay", observer);
    //-->
    </script>
    </div> <!-- accordion -->
    </div> <!-- specialDisplay -->
    I got the nice countdown.js script from
    http://andrewu.co.uk/clj/countdown/
    which allows N # of counters/page. I have updated this code to
    start checking for a zero based index that I generate utilizing the
    spry ds_RowID.
    I have added an observer to run the countdown's
    initialization function (to hopefully find all the "countdownN"
    element instances) under my dataset declarations:
    var observer = { onPostUpdate: function(notifier, data) {
    CD_Init() ; } };
    Spry.Data.Region.addObserver("AccordionSpecials", observer);
    Also tried to add the observer to a div surrounding the
    according w/ the "spry:region" specified.
    But, alas, I see the correct expire instance in my tab, but
    it looks like the counter is only firing before the actual data is
    loaded (i.e. I used FF's webdeveloper and set a break on the
    CD_Init function and it's breaking before the actual accordion is
    there - I see the dataset placeholders in my window for the
    accordion. When I continue, the accordion is generated, but my
    countdown isn't working because it looks to be firing before the
    DOM is updated w/ the accordion elements.
    Sorry for the long speil; I'm really a .js neophyte and just
    starting w/ spry - so I'm not even sure if I can/should change the
    HTML generated from spry. If not, is there anyway that I can have a
    countdown timer for each accordion's tab panel's associated
    {expire} data field? Any ideas and suggestions are greatly
    appreciated!!
    Thank you also for this forum - some great gems for
    development here!

    Sorry - the previous post is way too long.
    Is it possible to tie in a javascript update function (a
    counter update) to an element generated by a spry widget (a dataset
    value that generates spry accordion tab text) so that the accordion
    tab gets updated by the javascript function running under a
    setinterval?
    I've tried firing the javascript init function with an
    observer on the accordion's onPostUpdate event, but it's getting
    fired before the spry data is loaded. Is this something that's
    possible? Sorry for my lack of javascript expertise! Relying on the
    real experts here!
    Thanks for any advice/pointers.

  • Bug in editing email addresses - Mailto: link doesn't update

    Numbers has a bug in the way email addresses work when they are edited. When entering an email address, it automatically is recognized as an email address and is made blue with a mailto: link when you hover over it. But when you edit the address, the text is changed but the _old link_ stays.
    Try this:
    1) Enter [email protected] in a cell and hit enter. The address shows up blue and hovering shows the mailto:[email protected].
    2) Triple click to the right of the text (so you don't activate the link). This selects the whole text. Type a new address [email protected] and hit enter. The new text shows up blue.
    3) Hover over the cell to see a surprise. It's the old link!
    You can also do it like this:
    1) same as 1) above.
    2) double click on the cell to make the cursor appear in the cell. Using the arrow keys, edit the email to [email protected] and hit enter.
    3) Hover. The link is not updated!
    Or like this:
    1) same
    2) using the arrow keys, come to the cell. Click once to make the cursor appear. Edit. Hit enter.
    3) same problem!
    Here's the only way that seems to work:
    2) using arrow keys, come to the cell, do NOT CLICK. Start typing - this will replace the entire contents of the cell.
    3) hover now shows the correct link.
    So editing an email address in Numbers does not update the link. You have to completely replace the email address.
    I discovered this while trying to figure out why people whose addresses had been updated were not receiving email, and happened to hover, and saw the old address in the mailto: link.
    I am now going through all my email lists, hovering to see if the link is what it's supposed to be, and correcting the ones that are wrong. If you have updated email addresses in Numbers, you will no doubt need to do this as well.
    I sent Apple feedback, and also called them. They are able to reproduce the bug and escalated it. Does anyone else have this issue with email addresses in Numbers?
    If so, please send feedback to Apple at
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/numbers.html
    and let them know.

    Terrell,
    I understand your feelings. Until we're familiar with a process, and especially if the process isn't well enough documented, it may seem to be poorly thought out (designed) or even improperly executed. It's been my experience through about four and a half years of Applecare support that after you've been watching this forum for six months or so you know more about iWork than 90% of the first responders at Apple Support. The bottom line is that if you're passionate in making your case about something that you are having trouble with, it's pretty easy to convince them that something is broken when it may be just fine. The worst several months of my computer life experience came after that support crew led me through an ill-advised and improperly executed OS reinstall, for no good reason. But I digress.
    So how do you want the Hyperlink insertion/editing process to work? The current process is as follows:
    To insert a Hyperlink, you type in a URL or email address and Numbers makes a guess as to what type of link it is. That couldn't be much easier. You can override the link-type designation in the Inspector.
    Then you decide to give the link an alias. You open the Hyperlink Inspector and deactivate the links using the "Make all links inactive" checkbox so that when you click on the link text in the cell it won't go into operation. You enter the new name for the link in the table cell, reactivate the link by un-checking the "Make links inactive" box, and you're done. At this point the link address is displayed and efficiently editable in the Inspector text box and the alias is displayed in the table cell. Pretty unambiguous and convenient. There may be other ways to get to this result, as often is the case.
    But you say: "I don't care about making an alias, I just want to edit the actual address." Well, you have to use the Inspector, or you have to start over. That's the price for having the option to add an alias. It's a design decision, and a feature, but not a bug. Could it be enhanced for convenience? Of course it could. Perhaps an "Edit Link" option on the contextual menu that would take you directly to the Inspector would be nice. But let's not make this program any larger and complex than it has to be. And, let's be sure that the things we escalate to the design team are really the things we want them to be spending their limited time on.

    Jerry

    That happens if the server sends the file as text/plain.
    You can see this if you open "Tools > Page Info > General": Content-Type: text/plain
    Files send this way will always open in a tab.
