'Automated' FORMS Compiler?

Hello all
FORMS Builder 10.1.2.0.2
DB 10gR2
OS: Win2k3
I was wondering if anyone can guide me to 'automated' FORMS Compiler. By that I meant, is there a way to compile FORMS after hours?
Here's the situation:
All of us know FORMS are not able to compile when there is a user on it.
We restart our Application Server every night around 2:00am - which should clear all connections to the FORMS.
I was wondering if it's possible to call the compiler after the AS restarts and compile a particular / a bunch of FORMS that are too busy for normal business hours to compile?
Thanks

Never mind .. found these

    Hi DurgaSrinivas_886836 ,
You should post your query on Oracle E Business Suite forums, not here.
You are trying to compile Forms 10g with f60gen, and using all the settings of Forms 6. That is obviously wrong.
You need to use the correct commands for 10g, frmcmp from the bin folder of DevSuite10g home. Trying random combinations will not get you anywhere. Read the documentation for 10g.
Better post on EBS forum. There may be other issues like no support for 10g in EBS 11.5.xx.xx that you are using.

  • Forms compilation Errors under Linux

    Hello,
    I have a main form called Tbdoctrk.fmb.
This forms compiles and runs perfectly through Oracle 9i iDS.
When transfering the fmb file under Linux, and attempting to recompile using the f90genm.sh utility, I get the following compilation errors:
FRM-18108: Failed to load the following objects.
FRM-30436: Parent window not specified for canvas.View Canvas H_TOOLBAR
FRM-30041: Position of item places it off of canvas.
    Item: BUTTON_HELP
    Block: VARIABLE
    Form: TBDOCTRK
FRM: Unable to adjust form for output.
    ====
I noticed that most of the object that failed to load (1 data block object, 1 canvas and a number of property classes and visual attributes) are contained in a file called TOOLBAR.fmb.
The TOOLBAR.fmb file compiles without errors under Linux/WIndows + is located in the same folder as the Tbdoctrk.fmb file.
    1) How can I resolve this issue ?
    PT
PS: I tried renaming the fmb files to upper/lower case without success.

    Hello,
My main form called Tbdoctrk.fmb in turn calls a form called Pre_bord.fmb in a Program Unit.
Most but not all Class and Value Attributes are included in a file called toolbar.fmb. I did not find any specific reference to the toolbar.fmb file.
However, at compile time, I find that those objects are not loaded.
    1) In what part of the main form Tbdoctrk.fmb should I find any such reference to the toolbar.fmb file ?
    2) How should I create those symbolic links under Linux ?

  • Can Oracle Forms compiled in 32-bit run in 64 bit without recompile ?

My customer has a development machine running on HP-UX 10.2 and a production machine running on HP-UX 11.0 installed with 9IAS form server. Can Oracle Developer 6i be installed on the HP-UX 10.2 32-bit machine and the oracle forms compiled in a 32-bit machine be run on a HP-UX 64-bit machine ?
    Can somebody help ?

Boy, this was a long time ago and not intended to reply to this particular question but for sharing my experience with 6i client/server development on linux 32bit and running (client/server deployment) on 64bit linux. I don't believe there is a 64bit 6i forms developer - it is 32 bit, so development must be on 32 bit and when you run on 64bit, then you will have library (missing) problems. My solution was to create a custom runtime which included all the related system libraries from the 32 bit for the client/server. This forms 6i custom runtime for client/server also included the patchset 18 and the 10g R2 instant client for sqlplus (to support xquery). All the forms development modules, make files, graphics, docs, etc was stripped out and then it became a lean client/server runtime for Linux (for both 32bit and 64bit). This custom runtime for client/server is technically not supported by Oracle and the 6i is close to its obsolescence (2008) - but it has been tested against 8,8.1.7.4, 9.2.0.8, 10g (R1 and R2) and XE and works like a champ. This does NOT work for 6i web deployment.

  • Forms Compiler v/s Forms IDE for 6i

I have a case where if I use the Forms 6i ide to compile my forms when I run the form I have the case when I exit the form something has changed. :system.form_status is actually changed and it wants to save the work. But in reality nothing has changed. If I compile this same form outside the forms 6i ide with the forms compiler I don't see this problem. Any ideas?

    Hi
My guess is that, for some reason, the Form Builder IDE is using an object library (or something like that) other than the Form compiler utility is using.
If it's not the case... Well, I always supposed that both ways should generate exactly equal fmxs...

  • Forms Compiler 9i

    hi,
i have installed oracle 9i and its Developer Suite.
Perhaps this will be a stupid question, but i don´t find information. My situation is next: i am doing some tests and i have delevoped some forms with Forms. My question is what should i do to generate/create standalone forms to run without using Oracle Forms?
    thanks in advaced,
    regards.

Yes, i know that, i think i didn't explain myself propertly.
    My situation is next:
    - i develop a form for a database table with Oracle Forms 9i.
    - i save and compile my form and i got two files: .fmb .fmx, don't i?
    - now, while i am developing forms with Oracle Forms i can test my form pushing the "run form" button
    - but, once i have finished my form, what should i do to run the form that i have created? i have two files, but i don't know what i have to do now :-(
Do i need to use the Forms Service "Forms Compiler", do i have to installed something else? or just running my forms on a webbrowser with the URL "http://localhost:8888/forms/....."?
    that is my question... ;-(
regards and thanks for your help.

  • Form Compiles in Forms Builder but not Unix?

I have a form that compiles fine in Forms Builder (Version 6.0.8.11.3). When trying to compile the form on a Solaris Middleware Server it fails and gives several errors similar to the following:

I realize that these same errors in Forms Builder if I have not connected to the database (Version 9.2.0.4.0) before compiling so I'm guessing that there is some environment variable set incorrectly on the middleware server. • Forms compiler error 103 - help please

I am trying to compile form procedure with legal PL/SQL block this type
    PROCEDURE xy IS
    CURSOR c_row1_mi IS
    SELECT x| |y AS row1, ziehung_id, zs
    FROM (SELECT x, ziehung_id, zs
    FROM table1
    WHERE tm_lo_z_lotto = 'MI'
    ORDER BY zs desc),

    WHERE ziehung_id = tm_lo_s6_ziehung_id
    AND ROWNUM <= 6
    ORDER BY zs;
    BEGIN
    FOR cr IN c_row1_mi LOOP
    END LOOP;
    END;
There is no problem with running the procedure via SQL Plus. But it is not possible to compile this procedure as a form procedure (version 6.0.8.13.0).
The error message is: Error 103 on row ... found symbol "ORDER" ...
for first (ORDER BY zs desc) clause. Without this "order by" clause the complilation is sucsseful.
    Any comment is welcome.

The PL/SQL engine in Forms is based on the 8.0.6 RSFs. The ability to use a SELECT statement in the FROM clause of a query was added in 8.1.6 or later. Therefore you can't use that feature in Forms.
It works in Oracle9i Forms, though, since that's based on the 9i RSFs.
Your only workaround is to move the query to a stored procedure in the database, or change the query.

  • Error in forms Compilation in 10g. Internal Error Problem.

    Hi,
I am involved in Migration of Oracle Forms, currently running on 9i DS, to 10G DS.
As of now there are no compilation issues encounted on 9i DS. But while compiling on 1oG DS, I am getting following error.
    Error 801 at line 1, Column 1
    Internal Error [hshuid: LU invalid].
I am not able to interpret the problem. The form has PLL and OLB attached to it.
Can any one come across such problem or can suggest for any possible option to get out of it.?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Jagadeesh.

    Hi Michael,
    Thanks for your early reply.
    Below are the details.
    1. Which product versions are involved? Do not use marketing names - use x.x.x.x format. For example 9.0.4.3
    --Forms [32 bit] Version 10.12.0.12
--Oracle Database 10g enterprise edition Release 10.2..0.3.0 - 64 bit
    2. On which platform are you trying to compile these modules?
    --Windows XP
    3. What is the database version to which you are connecting?
    --Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0 - 64bit
    4. Are you compiling in the correct order? You should (in most cases) compile PLLs then MMBs then FMBs.
--Yes, I compiled in the same order. But still getting the same error.
    5. 801 probably a PL/SQL error. Is it possible that you are using an obsolete built-in or other command?
--Yes, I too felt it is a oracle error. But i was expecting a ORA before it.
    6. Which ever version you are using, have you installed the latest patch for that version? The latest for 10g Release 1 is 9.0.4.3 and the latest for 10g Release 2 is 10.1.2.2
--I need to contact DBA's to get to know about the patch.
I will update you on Patch side, Meanwhile could you guess, what might have went wrong.?

    Hi All,
I am upgrading from OAS 9.0.4 to 10.1.2 where Forms 10g application is deployed.
When I try to recompile with frmcmp.sh :

    Form not created
    What cause this error ?
FYI, on the above compilation I connect to different database/schema, not the one
which is used by the Form, is this the reason of th error ?
During compilation, Do I have to connect to the database/schema I used when develop the form ?
DO I have to create all tables in the schema first before compilation ?
    Tnank you for your hwlp,
    xtanto
PS. When I compile the same Form with F90genm.sh on OAS 9.0.4, NO ERROR.

From my experience it's a really bad idea to install OCS into a AS IM. When it comes to upgrades and patches you'll pull your hair out!
Why not install OCS first and then install the BI into the OCS AS server... I have not checked the certification matrix but that might be a better solution to look into.

Ctrl + K (Incremental Compilation of your code)
Ctrl + Shift + K (Complete compilation of your form)
Ctrl + T (Compile Module to generate fmx)
You can use Gerd's trick too to invalidate every single piece of code in your module and recompile all of them with the above method.

  • Form compiling with a library.....

Hello folks, i have this issue.
I develop an oracle form with an attached library on my windows developer suite, which worked perfectly.
but when i tried to deployed on my application server i got errors on compilation time, the error was on a procedure that is defined in the attached library.
my question is there a specific way to compile a form with it attached library on application server under HP-Ux ?????????????
It is strange because i eliminate the non-portable path when compiling the form, and i compiled the library on the application server and got the .plx version of it.
    please help

Just first compile your .pll and next the form. Please mind all paths (or put them in the same directory). This should work like a charm. The compiler will give you an error file after compilation. This error file can help you solving path issues that can cause errors like this.

    Hi Ahmed,
Thanks for not being vague about your OS.
It seems like you are trying to run a command for the apps user with the oracle user.
Try switching to the apps user, then source the environment as this is clearly an environment issue.
