Bug: View does not resize after soft keyboard dismissal

On Android when resizeForSoftKeyboard=true, the view does not resize after dismissing the soft keyboard. This simple app demonstrates the bug.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<s:Application xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
applicationDPI="160"
resizeForSoftKeyboard="true"
applicationComplete="applicationComplete()">
<fx:Script>
<![CDATA[
private function applicationComplete():void {
keywordTextInput.setFocus();
private function keywordTextInputEnter():void {
stage.focus = null;
]]>
</fx:Script>
<s:Rect id="rect1" width="100%" height="100%">
<s:stroke>
<s:SolidColorStroke color="#FF0000" weight="4"/>
</s:stroke>
</s:Rect>
<s:TextInput id="keywordTextInput" enter="keywordTextInputEnter()" returnKeyLabel="go"/>
</s:Application>
1) Start app.
2) Click on the "go" button on the soft keyboard
I observe that the red rectangle remains the same size (about half the screen). I expect the red rectangle to resize to fill the entire screen as it does on iOS.
My environment:
Flash Builder 4.7 beta
Flex 4.6.0
AIR 3.4
ASUS Transformer (Android 4.0.3)

• Help viewer does not work after update to 10.4.4

Since updating to 10.4.4 my Help viewer does not work, and all of the troubleshooting fixes suggested in other threads have not had any success in resolving this. I've noted that when I go to Users>Library>Documentation>Help there is no mac.help file - can someone tell me if that means that I've lost the file altogether and need to reinstall it? I get to the first screen of the viewer, but the links from there don't work. Thanks for any help that you can provide!

Thanks for your suggestion. I downloaded OnyX and ran the cleaning function. After restarting, I opened Help and once again the first screen appeared fine. But again most of the links did not work, though those under the "What's New" heading did work. I might add that I had previously tried a variety of suggestions posted in another thread, which included deleting from the caches folder in Home>Library several files such as com.apple.helpui and help.plist in the Preferences folder. (As noted in my previous post this evening, I also created another user but that also did not have any effect.) Any other ideas? Thanks

• Window.resizeTo in addon (overlay commonDialog) does not resize after some minimum size in FF v17 & 18

I created an addon which overlay commonDialog.xul.
In the load event, window.resizeTo is called and set to a very small size (like 10x10) so it is almost invisible to users.
This works fine in FF 15. After upgrading to FF 17 or FF 18, this stops working.
When I set the size big, it works fine. When setting it to a small size, it seems like when hitting a limit, the window size stays the same. The window size is the same when setting to 10x10 or 100x100.
This is on a MAC, but same behavior is observed on Windows too.
It seems like there is a minimum size predefined and the window does not get smaller than that.
Aren't we supposed to be able to resize the window as we wish in the addon?

If you create your own window with a unique ID then it should be possible to create more specific CSS rules for that window.
How (when) do you resize that window when you need it to show with the default dimensions?
If you have specific questions about developing extensions then it is best to ask advice at the MozillaZine Extension Development forum.

• Spark TextInput does not bring up soft keyboard in iOS?

I created an app with TextInputs that was working fine, bringing up the soft keyboard in both Android and iOS devices. After being away from it a couple weeks, when I made some unrelated changes, it no longer brings up the keyboard at all on iOS, and on Android it no longer displays the contents of the TextInput while typing, with the "Done" button.
I can't think of any changes I made that would cause this change...
I found old posts here and elsewhere about the Spark TextInput not triggering the v keyboard, but they're all a year old, and I know I've been fine until now.
Can anyone help?
Thanks!

I was able to get it to work again by no longer using an mxml skin, which I was using to make the corners square, not rounded. Once I removed the skin reference, it brought up the keyboard again. Do you know why this might be? And could you tell me why there are forum exchanges around saying spark textinput cannot bring up the keyboard, only the mx:TextInput can? Perhaps they date back to an early beta version of the sdk?
Thanks!

• Hierarchy Viewer does not load after clicking on the + icon

Premise: I have a hierarchy viewer with multiple levels of master-detail with different VOs.
The inputs to the taskflow containing this page are the key and VO type. The tree should render until that VO which matches the type and key and all the next level children under it. The user can expand the nodes under these children at will to drill further.
Issue: I am able to render the tree with results. When I click on the + icon to drill on the children, I see that the backend code for fetching the children is called. But, the tree does not display. It shows the loading icon forever.
Example:
Organization - PO - POItem - Vendor - VendorSite -VendorAddress
- Responsible - ContactDetails
- Project - SubProject - Location
TaskFlow Input: Vendor, 12345
The tree should dispaly Organization - PO - POItem - Vendor(12345) - VendorSite(for 12345)
-Responsible(for 12345)
If the user expands any of the VendorSites, the VendorAddresses should be shown
Technical Details: JDeveloper Version: 11.1.2.1.0
Code: To filter the children, I am overriding the CreateViewLinkAccessorRS in the VOImpls. I am passing bind variables to the VO criterion to check the paths.

@Arunkumar: Yes, I ran the AM tester and I am able to see the results properly for all the VOs and levels.
I created a sample on the HR Schema and tested. I see that when I click on the Employee node for expansion(can be checked with the data or the short description), it hangs with the load icon.
I do not see anything in the log other than:
<RegionRenderer> <encodeAll> The region component with id: r1 has detected a page fragment with multiple root components. Fragments with more than one root component may not display correctly in a region and may have a negative impact on performance. It is recommended that you restructure the page fragment to have a single root component.
I do not see any upload options here to give my testcase. So, I uploaded to this link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vybip3owzuziz86/HRHierarchyViewer.zip
Please let me know if I can do this elsewhere for easy access.

• Auto brightness does not work after upgrade from iOS5 to iOS6 on my iPod touch. Is this intended by Apple, or is it a bug?

I attempted to ask this question, yesterday. However, I am not used to typing with my thumbs, yet, and messed it up some. So, I will give this another try. Auto brightness does not work after upgrade from iOS 5 to iOS 6 on my iPod touch. Is this intended by Apple, or is it a bug?

Have you looked at the previous discussions listed on the right side of this page under the heading "More Like This"?
iOS 6 changed how that feature works.

• My keyboard does not work after cleaning :-(

Hello, I have a MacBook Pro (bought in december 2009) an now the keyboard does not work after I cleaned it. This was on thursday and today it still does not work. Any ideas?

Chances are that you've shorted the terminals on the keyboard, and will need to be replaced… When the keyboard on unibody MacBook Pro's is replaced the whole 'top case' will be done, trackpad etc… Now generally it is highly unlikely that the Liquid submersion indicators will have been activated unless the cloth was saturated with water. Also unless you purchased the AppleCare protection plan your MacBook will be out of warranty and will require an out of warranty repair.
From knowledge out of warranty repair for a top case assembly it's £163 and a level 2 hardware repair is £28

I am not able to figure out what table it is looking for. Any ideas why this is happening?

check the MGP compose process, is it also showing the error?
If it is them at some point in 10.2 Oracle introduced a 'feature' (ie: bug) that causes problems to the housekeeping routines when new versions of publication items are published
In 10.0 and early 10.2 when making changes to publication items VIEWS called CPV$.. were created to log the column list for each version of a publication item, and check if you are making changes when you publish. In the case of old versions, once all clients have synchronised and been moved to the latest version it tries to delete this view.
at some point the publish started creating TABLES instead of views (but using the same naming convention ie: CPV$..). This works fine as far as the logging of changes and old column lists, but the housekeeping called at the end of the publish and GP process still trieds to do a DROP VIEW and this causes the error.
The only way of clearing this i have found is to look at the log file to get the name of the object that it is trying to drop, set up a view script to create a dummy view with the list of columns in the table, drop the table and then create the view. It then gets dropped on the next MGP cycle and the error goes away
If the error is not showing up in the MGP process, only in the publish, and your changes appear to be publishing OK, then the problem is likely to be with a snapshot definition AFTER the change you have made - real pain to identify on re-publish - possibly missing schema name in the snapshot definition

• "Always open in column view" does not hold

"Always open in column view" does not hold the preference when applied to my hard drive.
I select Macintosh HD and choose the column view. I go to View > Open View Options and check "Always open in column view". Then if I click on a different folder and go back to Macintosh HD, column view is retained... that is until I restart the computer.
After a restart, when I click on Macintosh HD I am back to icon view. Again I go to View > Open View Options, and somehow the preference has changed to "Always open in icon view". If I switch back to column view, the preference is retained again until I restart, then it's back to icon view.
Other folder and external drives open in column view after a restart, it is just Macintosh HD that always reverts to icon view.
Sent a bug report to Apple, but any ideas how to fix this?

install ONYX and use it to delete all .DS_Store files on your drive. every folder has one and they store the folder view settings. you seem to have some corrupt ones. also reset your finder preferences. delete the file homedirectory/library/preferences/com.apple.finder.plist. then control-option-click on finder in the dock and choose "relaunch".
try setting default views after that.
Did both suggestions and it appears to be working as expected now. Many thanks for the quick (and very useful) reply VK!

my sound system does not work after installing hp pc to tv wireles device when I am using lap top for other purposes.

Hi,
You don’t install VS2010 on the client PC, then where did the Form Invoice not work? When you run it from another version of VS? Or when you run the application with application.exe?
Based on your description, one form works well, another form does not. I assume that two forms are in two different projects, then please check the .Net Framework used by the two projects. If they are different, you can use the
one used by the Form contact for Form Invoice.
Because this issue is a project issue, I recommend you to consult it on some application forum such as Windows Forms General forum for better support.
VS General Question forum mainly discusses
the usage of Visual Studio IDE such as
WPF & SL designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer Documentation and Help
System and Visual Studio Editor.

• Site does not load after some minutes of creation or after restart the server

Hello,
I have been asked to create a test enviroment identical to the production enviroment. So, what I did was:
Backed up the production web application's content database: Prod_WSS_ContentDB
Created new test servers (domain controller, sql server and sharepoint 2013 server) in a new, completely isolated, network environment, without any connection with the production environment (specifically Azure)
Created a new web application in test environment with a new content database.
Dismounted the new content database with powershell: Dismount-spcontentdatabase Test_WSS_Content
Copy the Prod_WSS_ContentDB database to the test sql server and restored it with Management Studio.
Mount the Prod_WSS_ContentDB databe to the web application with powershell:
Mount-spcontentdatabse Prod_WSS_ContentDB -WebApplication http://testsp/
Then, when I type http://testsp in the browser it redirects me to http://testsp/SitePages/Home.aspx
and the site loads exactly as the production environment.
But, after some minutes, or if I restart the Sharepoint Server, when I navigate to
http://sitesp I am redirected to http://testsp/SitePages/Home.aspx
as expected, but the site does not load, the browser just show a complety blank page.
The Central Administration site loads normally.
Trying to fix it I found that if I dismount the content database Prod_WSS_ContentDB, then mount the test database Test_WSS_Content,
then navigate to the site, dismount Test_WSS_Content and finally mount again Prod_WSS_ContentDB, the site loads normally, no blank page, but after some minutes or if I restart the same happens again.
For the error event I receice in event viewer it seems that the problem is related to database. I have not found a solution for this error... How can I solve this?

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that Site does not load after some minutes of creation or after restart the server.
Please make sure you create a test environment for existing production site correctly.
Here are some great articles for your reference:
