Call sync BPM from Async BPM - issue

Hi,
Outline: I'm trying to call a synchronous BPM from an asynchronous BPM in a PI 7.0 SP 14 system.
When doing so i get the following error: Object CL_SWF_XI_MSG_BROKER method SEND_SYNCHRON cannot be executed.
Now this is an oldie when searching the forums for this error message. I do however fail to see a solution to the problem.
Note that the following notes (referred to in similar posts)
- 710445
- 718734
- 830803
are implemented since theese refer to older versions of PI.
My scenario is very simple at present since i've startet from scratch again after getting the error. So what i do is:
1) send async message to async BPM
2) async BPM receives request
3) async bpm transform request til sync_request.
4) async BPM calls synchronous BPM
5) sync BPM receives request and opens a async/sync bridge
6) sync BPM maps request to response
7) sync BPM sends response and closes async/sync bridge
8) async BPM reveices sync_response
9) async BPM sends sync_response to some application
Now step 8 i never succesfully executed. Instead the error earlier described is triggered.
For simplicity i use 1 and only 1 message type in all message interfaces. I have mapping between my synchronous interfaces outside of BPM.
The synchronus BPM is executed just fine. The only issue is getting the reponse back to the asynchronous BPM.
I am familiar with the following similar posts:
- Object CL_SWF_XI_MSG_BROKER method SEND_SYNCHRON cannot be executed
- Problem in posting the data in the syncronous mode
but find them to be of no use.
Hope someone can help.
Best Regards,
Daniel

Daniel Hans Engsig-Karup wrote:First you do not need any bridges if it is asyn/sync kind of a scenario in the second BPM. You need a bridge when the bpm has to wait with a sync call coming in and response in an async call. Essentially your BPMs (I donno why you need 2.. but let us go with 2)

(Remove this if you are calling a sync system here) and opens a async/sync bridge

  • Calling one BPM from another BPM.

    Hi Guys,
I'm trying to call an existing(working!) BPM from another BPM. Its a synchronus call. However in moni I see it as errored out on the outbound side. The error in the PE is:
    <b>CL_SWF_XI_MSG_BROKER method SEND_SYNCHRON cannot be executed.</b>
I checked the following thread(<i>Re: Object CL_SWF_XI_MSG_BROKER method SEND_SYNCHRON cannot be executed), but those notes are already applied. Any idea, what could be the problem?
    Thanks,
    Harsh
    PS: We are on SP16.

    Hi Krishna,
I have a doubt regarding transformations. In some of my transformations, I'm adding/stripping soap envelopes using XSL. For these messages, I'm only concerned about my target structure. Since there is not graphical mapping, I've assigned the same(target) structure to the source. The source message, I was assuming will not be validated(against the source structure) and thus will not throw an error. Could this be the problem, if so, what is the solution?
    Thanks,
    Harsh

  • Trigger BPM from Other BPM

Hi, how can I do to trigger an X BPM from other Y BPM, I tried just sending the same message that start BPM X from BPM Y but it doesn't allow me?
Any Ideas on how to do this?
    Regards,
    Pablo

    Hi,
    >>Should the sender interface from BPM X be the same as the receiving interface in BPM Y?
Yes. Use the same Abstract Sync interface in the send step of BPM X and Receive step of BPM Y.
    >>do I have to use the SynAsyn Bridge at all or is this something different?
Yes. You have to open S/A bridge in the receive step of the BPM Y.

  • Call SOAP Adapter from CE BPM failed

    Hi everyone,
i have just a problem calling a webservic on the PI 7.11 server from CE 7.2 BPM via SOAP adapter.
    1. I've created a very simple scenario on the PI 7.11 Server using SOAP Adapter sender. I've gotten the WSDL URL from the Sender Agreement. It is like the following:
    http://piserver:50000/dir/wsdl?p=sa/2e1cf474911939c89c0f5530b24c36f0
    2. In the Service Registery of the CE server, I published this service manuelly. The SR created automactically endpoints (http, https) for me. I tested both. They worked very well. While publishing the service, I've also assigned it to the correct system, which has the type IS.
    3. I've imported the wsdl into my BPM and assigned it to a automatic activity. I've also created a new service group for this service interface.
    4. After deploying the BPM onto the CE server, I've created a new provider system with type IS. In the WS connectivity type, I entered the wsdl url from above again and the admin user on PI server for the Metadata User.
    5. I've created a user in the "User Account Management" with connectivity type WS and entered the same user on the step 4 for the Metadata User, assigned this user to the provider system created on step 4.
    6. In the "Application Communication", I assigned the provider system from step 4 to the serivce group created on the step 3.
    7. Start the BPM and find out a very strange error message:
    Error during SCA Processing
    [EXCEPTION]
java.rmi.RemoteException: Could not process message for operation SI_SearchSalesOrder_outbound in web service plugin module.; nested exception is:
com.sap.engine.services.webservices.espbase.client.bindings.exceptions.TransportBindingException: Invalid Response code (401). Server <http://piserver:50000/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?senderParty=&senderService=SAP_CE&receiverParty=&receiverService=&interface=SI_SearchSalesOrder_outbound&interfaceNamespace=http%3A%2F%2Fconet.de%2FSalesOrder> returned message <Unauthorized>. Http proxy info:  none
I suppose that the metadata user is used to read the wsdl information form PI. For runtime processing maybe should also I provide a user. But I have no idea where I can configure the runtime user in the NWA.
Could some one give me some help on this position?
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    with best regards
    Xiang

    Hi Michal,
thanks a lot for your answer. That's also my question. I've provided user to get the meta info for the WS on the CE server. But during the runtime, the BPM on the CE should also have a user to call the soap adapter. Normally we can add the sap-user, sap-pass behind the ws endpoint. But it doesn't work on the CE. Maybe I should use the principle propagation.
thanks a lot for your reply.
    with best regards.

  • Error 500 calling an ES from a BPM

    Hi experts,
I have a BPM in XI that calls an ES many times. The standard ESs called are the Create Project Create Network an Create Activity. The BPM calls first of all the create project, then calls the create network, once for each network realted to the main project and then calls the create activity once for each activity realated to each network.
The BPM works fine for few networks and activities, but when calling many networks and activities it returns an error 500 of conection. It will be because the project object gets blocked when its called many times in a little period of time.  I think it's not due to the XML or related because if I do the same process but with a wait step between each send it works fine. Do you know how can avoid this problem?
    Regards
    Gonzalo

ou are working with XI 3.0 or 7.0. If you have one XI installation across different network domains, host names may not be resolvable across network domains depending on your network setup. For the XI inter-component communication, URLs registered in the System Landscape Directory (SLD) are used.
XI Tools, Integration Engine and XI Adapter Engine register their URLs in the SLD in different ways:
XI Tools: Hostname and port used by the Tools (RWB, Integration Builder -Repository and -Directory) are stored in the Exchange Profile. During J2EE system restart they get self registered in the SLD using the values defined there.
XI Adapter Engine: In case of the XI Adapter Engine, these URLs are automatically entered to the SLD as part of the Adapter Framework self registration process. Host and port are taken from the J2EE server.
In most cases the host name in these URLs is not fully qualified whereas in cross-domain scenarios fully qualified host names are required.
    Solution
The problem can be solved in most cases by forcing the XI self-registration to use fully qualified host names.
For XI Integration Builder, Integration Engine and Runtime Workbench, you accomplish this by entering fully qualified host names in the XI Exchange Profile, then initiating a new self-registration (restarting the J2EE engine).
For the Adapter Engine, the approach is different: Change the properties "SLD.selfregistration.httpPort", "SLD.selfregistration.httpsPort" and "SLD.selfregistration.hostName" of the J2EE service SAP XI AF CPA Cache. Enter the fully qualified host name under which the Adapter Engine can be reached from all relevant network domains. Do this in the Visual Administrator of the J2EE Engine.  Then restart the applications "com.sap.aii.af.cpa.app" and "com.sap aii.af.app", or restart the complete J2EE engine. This triggers a new Adapter Engine self-registration.
Go in the Integration Server (IS) to transaction "SXI_CACHE -> Goto -> Adapter-Engine-Cache" and delete the old Adapter Engine cache entries. After that the cache is refreshed from SLD as soon as a new message in sent to the respective Adapter Engine.
Check: After restart, navigate in SLD through "Content Maintenance -> XIAdapter Framework" to your Adapter Engine.  As part of the "associated instances" you find e.g. at "XI  Adapter Service XIRA -> Associated Instances -> Port for XIRA of af.<SID>.<hostname>" the new URL with the fully qualified host name.

  • Call Java Method from BPM Process

    Hi,
I have defined a java class with set of methods , and I want to know if there is any way to call those methods from a BPM process..
    Thanks in Advance,,

Use the spring component context in soa suite instead of ejb. Look for documentation in soa suite developer guide. Only if you have existing ejbs then use ejb adapters.

  • How to initiate the call JDBC_Sender adapter from BPM?

    Hello,
I have a periodicall proccess in BPM. After receiving some message in BPM  I check some fileds of the message. If condition is true I need to initiate SQL request to external DB, to receive the message and send it after transformating to SAP.
How to initiate the call JDBC_Sender adapter from BPM? As I understand I need to use JDBC Sender adapter and once.
How to construct the correct BPM?
    Thank You

the message comes into BPM. You check for some conditions and if true use a send step (Sync) that would query into DB table and as a reponse retrieve the related data. After the send sync step have the transformation step and another send step to SAP.
U would not configure sender jdbc but u wud need to config for recv jdbc. this wuld service the request and in response return the set of data from the table

  • Calling simple Java Code from 11g BPM

    Hi,
I know this has been round the houses but I cant find a satisfactory solution for my scenario. I would like to call some simple java code from BPM (11.1.1.6). I guess I need to expose it as a service but it seems overkill to be via soap so any advice you can give would be much appreciated. Creating a jar that I can call somehow would be perfect.
    This is my scenario:
    - I am creating a Security POC for BPM
    - The BPM Process is exposed as a web service and authenticated using SAML
    - I am testing by calling the WS from OSB
    - I want to be able to get the WLS Principal and display the username and the roles for the launching user, from within the BPM process
    - This is possible using some simple weblogic client api code shown below
    - So all I want to do is call this code from BPM somehow
    - Anyone point me in the right direction ?
    cheers
    Tony
    subject = Security.getCurrentSubject();
    for(Principal p: subject.getPrincipals()) {
    if(p instanceof WLSGroupImpl) {
    groupList.add(p.getName());
    } else if (p instanceof WLSUser) {
    principal = p.getName();
    }

The problem to communiate java classes and forms solved !
i have add my .jar file to $OA_JAVA/oracle/apps/fnd/jar and now i can communicate between forms and java.
I can create an object, i can get simple message from class, but when i try to create
    ServiceFactory factory = ServiceFactory.newInstance();
    ive got ORA-105100...
    can anybody help ?

  • Sync/Async BPM scenario : Problem at Integration Process..!!

    Hi All,
I am doing Sync/Async BPM scenario.
    start ->Receive(Request)> Transformation(Responsemap)>Send(SendtoR/3)->Send(Send Response) ---> stop.
When Iam trying to Activate, Integration process giving errors as
    Source parameter AA_Payment_Req | http://XXXXXXXXX.com/SAP_PI/DirectSales/Payment not set  Target parameter AA_Payment_Response | http://XXXXXXX.com/SAP_PI/DirectSales/Payment not set
Warning: Container element Response is defined but is neither initialized nor used.
But I am using them in the BPM. The same kind of scenario is working for another interface which is already running in production. When I tried to check that interface it is showing only Warning message as Container element Response is defined but is neither initialized nor used.
I tried deleting and creating again and still it is showing the same error.
Can anyone please suggest what might be the problem.
    Regards
    Deepthi

    Hi,
could you pls let me know how its solved, while i am trying the same i am also getting the same problem..
could you pls explain bit more on this.
    Thanks,

  • Calling BPM Sub Process from another BPM Process - Stuck at Sub Process

    Hi
    JDeveloper 11.1.1.6, BPM 11.1.1.6, WLS 10.3.6
I am trying to Call a BPM Process from another BPM Process. Both the processes are defined in the same BPM Project.
Both the Processes have 'None' Start and End activities.
The 'Parent Process' has a 'Call Activity' which calls the 'Sub Process'.
The Sub process takes a parameter of payload object as input and returns output (also same payload object)
I have passed the payload object from parent to sub process in the 'Data Associations'.
The Start and End activities in the sub process also have the data associations set where I am passing the payload object from parent process to child process.
When I run the process and see the Enterprise Manager console - Audit Trail / Flow tabs,
Flow Tab - The progress of the process is showing only till the Calling of the sub process in the Parent Process. It does not show the Sub Process.
Audit Trail Tab - Shows that the Sub Process is called but has not reached to the End of the Sub process.
The audit trail does not have links to the sub process activities.
I cannot see any exceptions as well in the audit trail.
How can I find out why the process is stuck? Or what is going on in the process?
Please let me know if my explanation is not clear?
    Thanks for any help
    Regards
    Sameer

    Thanks for replying.
I have another Sub Process with Start and End events as Message Events and used Send Task and Receive Task (Implementation : Process Call) in the Main process to invoke the sub process asynchronously.
Then, the Sub Process is shown in the 'Flow Trace' as child of the main process.
In this particular one, I used 'Call Activity' to call the sub process.
So the Audit trail is showing the sub process as a child.
But what I was trying to say is that the audit trail did not have links to the entries in the 'Event' column (in Enterprice manager - instance window). (like Instance entered activity, Instance left activity etc).
I was intending to use these links to see the payload information and try to debug if there is any problem with the code.
The actual problem I was trying to say in the post is that, even after the user responds to the activity (User Task - Approval) in the Sub process,
the audit trail is not proceeding further.
In the Sub process definition, after the user task, there is End with none implementation.
    Hope it is clear now.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Calling External Application from BPM 11g

I am new to BPM 11g and need to create the ability to call an external application (UCM) from within BPM. Will a web service adapter, with a type of Reference, accomplish this? How can I add security to this web service.
The second question is how can I add an adapter that alllows me to specify our own source code? In this scenario we would write the Java to formulate the SOAP call directly, thus allowing us to add the security into the call directly.
    Any information is much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Randy

    Hi Randy,
You can call an external application using a spring component integration, I was just able to get that to work with a help from another forum member here is a viewlet that demos the spring integration:
    http://bpel.us.oracle.com/BPM/11gR1/howtos/spring-component/oow-2010-Beijing-viewlet/springdemo_v2_viewlet_swf.html

I'm getting weird error such as Kernal exception etc. Please let me know if you have developed such scenario and what should we do dfifferently in such scenarios?. Thank you for any suggestions.

    Hi,
This error has has nothing to do with Calling Outbound Proxy from from Inbound Proxy. The scenario which you are telling is very much possible.
It looks like there is some problem in your proxy code while calling RFC from within there or something like that. Try catching the exception and see what is the exact error or put in debug mode and see the step where exactly your code is failing.

  • Designing the scenario of multiple BAPI call in a loop in BPM

    All,
I need some help in designing this scenario. I do not have the luxury to write a custom BAPI. Here is my scenario. A typical async>sync>async with little modification
    1. Async call to BPM with input payload
    2. BPM calla BAPI_SALESORDER_GETLIST with customer number and sales organization from input payload and returns a list sales order items (Sync)
    3. I need to call the BAPI_SALESORDER_GETSTATUS for each sales order number that I got from the first call (Sync?). Not sure how this has to be designed
    4. Transfer the  data through HTTP adapter (Async)
I am able to perform step 1, 2 and 4 (of course only line item data). I need some pointer help on how to incorporate it in step 3 of BPM.

    3. I need to call the BAPI_SALESORDER_GETSTATUS for each sales order number that I got from the first call (Sync?). Not sure how this has to be designed
for this the BPM should have a block after the Sync send.......in the block have your send step....the mode of the block will be ForEach....
