Changed user name and now can't sign in -HELP!

I just wanted to change my user name, so I went to accounts and just changed that, not the password or anything else...I restarted my computer and now I can't sign in with the new OR the old...what can I do?

I followed these steps:
Resetting the original administrator account password
Follow these steps to reset a password when there is only one administrator account on the computer, or if the original administrator account (of several) needs a password reset. "Original" administrator account refers to the one that was created immediately after installing Mac OS X. If the original administrator password is known, the original administrator user may reset the passwords of other administrator accounts using the steps described above.
Start up from a Mac OS X Install CD (one whose version is closest the the version of Mac OS X installed). You should first disable Open Firmware password protection, if it is enabled. Hold the C key as the computer starts.
Choose Reset Password from the Installer menu (or Utilities menu in Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger). Tip: If you don't see this menu or menu choice, you're probably not started from the CD yet.
Select your Mac OS X hard disk volume.
Set the user name of your original administrator account.
Important: Do not select "System Administrator (root)". This is actually a reference to the root user. Do not confuse it with a normal administrator account.
Enter a new password.
Click Save.

Purchased items are forever tied to the Apple ID that they were purchased with. If you don't remember the Password, log onto Manage your Apple ID, and click on Reset Password: Apple - My Apple ID

In order to change the iCloud ID on your device you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

If you updated your existing account then try logging out of it on the iPad by tapping on the id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPad and whether you can then update the older apps. If you created a new account then any content that you purchased/downloaded via the old account will remain tied to that old account, and only that old account can download updates to its apps.

Setup 2 accounts, changed their names and now I have 4!!

I set up two accounts in Leopard (Call them X & Y); one a user account and the other an Administrator. I changed their names to Admin and User for convieniance but recently could not log in to either. When I loaded up the change password program on the install disk it tells me that i have 4 accounts: the original 2 (x & y) PLUS another two with the names Admin and User!
When I logged in as Root I can see that X & Y have all my data and my renamed accounts are empty. Strangely further, my login page ONLY displays the renamed accounts. So it looks like I login to say User, with user p/w and endup being taken to the old "Y" account.
As well, in the account list on the password change program i can see an aditional account called "iphonemux". I presume this is something to do with my ipad and itunes?
Hows has this happened with the accounts? Does anybody have any suggestion?

Unfortunately, it's not that easy to change short names. Try using the steps from this support article
attempt to rename your Home directory?
1. In the Finder, go to the /Users folder.
2. Locate the new home directory, which bears the users' short name.
3 .Add "_new" to the new home directory's name.
4. Rename the old home directory to the user's correct short name.
5. Log out and back in with the affected user account.

I changed user account and now Time Machine won't back up.

A few months ago I had a problem with my user account. I can't remember the details but i think it would no longer accept my password. After doing some hunting around for answers i made a new user account with administrative priviledges and transferred all the files over to that account. I also changed the permissions on those files to allow me to access them as a new user identity. For the most part that seems to have worked for me, although possibly i have not done the right thing.
Anyway, i have just realised recently that although the little circular arrow that indicated that Time machine is backing up my files, it hasn't actually made a backup since the end of august, which was possibly when i did this funny thing with my user account.
I am assuming that Time Machine has just got very confused about the disappearance of my files from the previous user account and change of permissions etc.
What can i do? I read on 'pondini.org' that i could reset my time machine by deleting the preferences file from my system library and then rehooking up my external hard drive as the desired backup volume. It would then, i assume make a full backup to begin with?
Any advice gratefully received. I am a graphic designer and i do need to have my files backed up!

ps i had some extra RAM installed a little while before the user account problem and only mentioning it here in case that is an issue with Time Machine as well.

Changed google email accounts and now wont scan to email, error message.
How o I change or confirm passwords. It has also lost air print.

Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that you need to update teh settings for your scan to email feature and have an Airprint issue.
I would like to help.
First you will need to gather your printers IP address.
Touch the wireless icon on the front panel of your 8600.
If it says IP no link, your printer has fallen off the network. This would be why Airprint is not working.
Once you have the printers IP address, open safari or chrome.
In the address bar type the printers IP address and press return.
This should take you to the printers Embedded Web Server (EWS).
Once at the EWS you should see the scan to email setup.
Choose the option to edit the email and type in your new password.
Save and test.
With the inability to Airprint, go into system preferences.
Then go into printers and scanners.
Select the 8600 plus and click the minus icon to remove it.
once the printer is gone, click the plus sign to add the printer again.
If you encounter any 'hiccups' or require further assistance, please let me know.

Changed network name and now e-print e-mail address doesn't work

I have a 6500A Plus Deskjet. I have an hpconnected account and changed my e-print e-mail address to something I would remember. Then I changed the name of my network. I have to get a new claim code ..... I enter it and when I try to choose my e-print addrss, it says that it is already been taken. I was on the hp site within a half an hour of changing my network name.

Your previous ePrint email address will not be available, once an ePrint email address has been used it is no longer available to be claimed again. I am sorry if this has caused any inconvenience.

WRT54G - Changed user name and password; now printer won't communicate with computer

Time Warner used remote access to get into my wrt54g system and create a new user id/password for security. As a result, my hp printer will no longer communicate with my computer. HP says to hook up a usb from router to printer, but there's no usb port on the wrt model I own. Don't know whether to buy a new router or if there is a solution to this problem. I hooked up a usb from computer to printer but it did nada...

so meaning to say you are unable to print even if the printer is connected to the computer. If that's the case even if your printer is connected wirelessly to the network then you will still not be able to print. Make sure that the printer will be able to print first when connected to your computer.

Try temporarily recreating the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then use the password for your current ID to sign out of the account on your Mac (even if it prompts you for the password for the old ID). If you can sign out, choose Delete at all of the prompts (your data will still be in iCloud), then go back and change your ID back to the new email address again and sign in with it on your Mac.

ADE is capitalizing my user name and I can't use ADE on existing books

I have used ADE for a number of years on my desktop computer. I use it with a Kobo reader which has been authorized with ADE. I bought a new computer, downloaded ADE, signed in with my ID (which is all lower case), and it authorized me using all Upper Case.This will not work with my existing ebooks on my reader as there is a mismatch. It will also not work with new books. I need to have one Adobe account, with my email address all in lower case letters, before I can read Adobe DRM protected books again.
FWIW, I have a very common name. And that name is my email address on gmail.com. On a number of occasions some other person with the same name has registered for various things using my address in error (or confusion). I believe this may haver happened here, with the difference between the two accounts being the capitalization.

I'm not sure how ADE usually handles capitalization: I have certainly managed with an all lowercase authorization to both ADE 1.7.2 and to ADE 2.0.
Here are a couple of things to try.

Sometimes ADE gets its registration/activation confused and in a semi-authorized state.
Unfortunately, it often then gives misleading error messages about what is wrong.
A common incorrect message informs you that the ID is already in use on another computer and cannot be reused.
This can often be resolved by completely removing any authorization using ctrl-shift-D to the Library screen on ADE (cmd-shift-D if on Mac).
Restart ADE, and then reauthorize with your (old) Adobe ID.

There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0. Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)

Recently changed wireless routers and now can't see airport

Had airport express working fine with windows 8.1. Now I have upgraded my router and I no longer see the airport. How do I reconnect?

You have a new network....and the AirPort remembers your old one, which is no longer there.
The solution is to reset the Express back to factory default settings and then set it up again to connect to your new network, just like you did when you set it up to connect to your old network.
Power up the Express for a few minutes
Hold in the reset button firmly for 10 seconds and release
Allow a full minute for the Express to restart to a slow, blinking amber light
The Express is now back to new, out of the box settings, so you can set it up again.
