Character encoding of Unicode (UTF-8) is what seems to be the default for printing. The page looks funny and the print is spread out.
the layout of the page is different that it appears on the screen. I printed the confirmation of my VISA payment on line and it is not concise. The information is correct, but the layout isn't.
Should I use another encoding? One of the Western ones? Maybe unicode (UTF-16)?
There is a known bug involving printing in beta 12 that has been fixed in the Firefox 4 release candidate which is due out soon.

I cannot change the Character Encoding - it is stuck on Unicode UTF-8 and I can not change it! When a web page opens I get these little boxes with "FF FD" instead of Quote marks. When I change the character encoding on that page using "View->Character Encoding" and click on the Western (ISO-8859-1), the page displays correctly. I would also like to point out that the Unicode UTF-8 seems to be broken because it is indicating that the QUOTE CHARACTER is an UNPRINTABLE character "FF FD"

The UTF-8 is not broken. The problem as pointed out in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Replacement_character#Replacement_character is that my Firefox being STUCK processing UTF-8 encoding cannot read the clearly marked iso-8859-1 data. So the UTF-8 is reinterpreting smart quotes -“ and ”- (“ and ”) as replacement (unprintable) characters.
So the real problem is why my Firefox is stuck on Unicode UTF-8The real problem is that the font that is used doesn't have those characters.
Do you see the special quotes -“ and ” on this forum page?
Does it help if you disable the website fonts and set another font as the default font?

Yes, provided all the media is inside the iTunes Media folder, which is in turn inside the main iTunes folder (which is the standard arrangement) you should be able to move the iTunes folder from <User's Music> to any other path and shift-start-Tunes (option-start-iTunes on a Mac) to reconnect to it.
If the media folder has split out to another drive in the past, or media is stored outside of the iTunes Media folder, then things get a bit more complicated. I can go into details should it be necessary.

Can't download my new iTunes songs. Maybe I had not done iTunes updates for a few months (?) so I downloaded what seems to be the latest iTunes to my computer and it still doesn't download my new songs. Am not to computer savy so I would appreciate any help. Thank you very much.

}Didn't you understand what BalusC said? You're closing the connection and then trying to use the ResultSet. The ResultSet will be closed when you close the connection so you can't use it anymore.
You should close the connection last thing in your code, probably in a finally. And after you close your ResultSet and Statement.

What monitors are currently most appropriate for print jobs?
Hi, I'm a free lance graphic designer for 20 years already and have always used Aperture Grid CRT Trinitron monitors as the most accurate for creating color jobs for print. I bought my last set of monitors Sony's Multiscan G420 in 2001. While they are still pretty accurate, they are aging and I'm thinking of buying new monitors. At that time - 2001, when I purchased my monitors there were a few other technologies like Shadow mask and LCD which were not good at all for creating graphic design color jobs for print.
I'm not sure if they still sell Aperture Grid CRT monitors anymore and would like to find out what monitors/monitor technology is currently most appropriate for print jobs?
I will greatly appreciate your tips.I'd go with a Sony, Samsung, or Sharp LCD and use it as a monitor, then professionally calibrate it.

Apple has made several well-publicised statements regarding their commitment to privacy and the security of their various iCloud services. If they were to fall short of a goal they stated so prominently for so long, it would have a material effect on the company's value, not to mention being extremely embarrassing. I think they're pretty serious about it.

I have made a photo book which is ready now to send to the apple store for printing but half way through the download process it cuts out unexpectadly and will not send. I have printed many books from my computer through Iphoto and have never had this problem before. What could be the problem? I have checked for updates and installed all of them. Turned my computer off and then on again. But still keeps doing this. Help ?

The reason for this may be that the book contains photos that cannot be rendered. Have you checked the preview of your book? Does the pdf look correct?

It happens to turn of my monitor in different situations. Sometimes i believe i have my graphic video broken ! In my town i don't have Apple doctors so i dont risk to go to a service non authorized from apple !
For example there was a day when it turns off when a simply pinch with thumb and 3 fingers for launchbad ...and the opperating sistem it should be restart from power button ! That was when i had Mountain lion 10.7.5 update
Other situation was with photoshop cs6, cs5, cs4 30 days trial versions ...i couldn't buy any versions so i decided to test a earlier versions that can match with my sistem requirements. In all of this three situations my display had turned off after opening a image or photo or 3d graphics in photoshop...anyway sadness.
Other situation : One day i was simply relaxing surfing facebook and ...than i've just simply open an advertising link ...and on that page i was waiting to load a video that used another player than flash player of youtube. Even two seconds didn't stayed open and trust me it turned off my display once again !

I told my story to to someone who holds an MacBook Pro i5 etc. and he told me to test the new mavericks maybe it's something broken in my operating system.... and believe me after 2 days of happiness with OS X MAVERICKS , last night my computer restarted because of a problem, and 2 hours ago again....why ? i don't know ! Maybe Video RAM or maybe Memory RAM or Maybe simple conflicts between Trial Photoshop and OS X or maybe my macbook it's 2 old...or i don't know ....for how much i used this mac it should run as an mustang ! MacBook Pro i7 Mid 2010 HDD 500 , 4 GB of DDR 3 , Intel built in Graphic 288 and an NVIDIA GE FORCE 512 , 15 inch display monitor , 283 real cicle counts ( my mac was used as an iphone while charging and using battery) ...i don't know what to do ! If you're having frequent kernel panics with your 15" mid-2010, or intermittent screen problems, the problem is, more than likely, the faulty NVIDIA GPU found in a number of those machines.

Here's the "official" Apple take on the issue - but the very real kernel panics need not be preceded by 'Intermittent black screen or loss of video'... in fact, you might not experience any video problems at all. Although video problems can certainly be a portent of things to come…
So what can you do? Print out a copy of your kernel panic and a copy of the Knowledge Base article and take them, along with your machine, to your local Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. The unfortunate thing is that many people have passed the “three years from date of purchase” now and Apple is not honoring the free logic board replacement for many users. Some dealers seem to be making some exceptions for those past the three year mark, but don’t count on it…
