Configuring SSL in Oracle Apps 11.5.10.2

Hi,
I am in the process of configuring SSL in oracle apps 11.5.10.2.
I am a bit confused with the Note ID: 123718.1. Could you please clarify me on the below things?
1. SSL can be implemented at three levels,
(a) Oracle Web/Apache Server Level
(b) Oracle Form Server Level
(c) Oracle Database Level
Can Implement SSL on any one or any two component levels? As per Note:123718.1, we MUST configure SSL for both the Oracle HTTP Server and Oracle Forms Level and these cannot be configured independently.
2. As per the Note ID: 123718.1, Option 2.1. Certificate Provisioning for Oracle HTTP Server
Point b in point 2 says to execute "$OPENSSL_TOP/bin/openssl sha1 or* > $HOME/.rnd"
But which will be the OPENSSL_TOP?
Please advise on these above two queries.
Thanks in advance
Regards,
Sravan

Thanks Hussien,
I have completed SSL configuration at all level including database. Forms are not getting launched. I am getting below error in the Java Console.

  • SSL on Oracle Apps 11

    Hi All,
I am trying to configure SSL on Oracle Apps 11i. I am referring the Metalink Doc 123718.1. I did not use Third party for certificates.
I have used self signed certificate with Applications genereted by OpenSSL for WebSever and configured SSL with HTTP Server. I am able to login to application using url https://<hostname>:4479 .
    I have enabled FormsLsnrServlet using txkrun.pl -script=SetAdvCfg -appsuser=apps -appspass=apps -enable=FormsLsnrServlet.
I am able to access http://hostname.domain:port/dev60cgi/f60cgi but below its showing the error java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:oracle.forms.engine.Main
But i am not able to open forms. Its not giving any error. I ran Autoconfig. Do i need to do any other configuration steps?
Please let me know a solution for this.
    Thanks,
    Manikandan

  • How to Setup SSL on Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1..2)

    Hi All,
Can anybody tell me How to setup the SSL on Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2).
I have all the required documents like
    1. Oracle Application Server Portal Server Configuration Guide.
    2. Oracle Application Server Web Cache Configuration Guide.
    3. Oracle Application Server SSO Administration Guide.
I tried to follow all this documents but still i am not able to set SSL for Oracle Portal Server.

The Portal Configuration Guide, available on OTN at http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/appserver1012.html does provide some very specific information on how to set up OracleAS Portal.
Section 6.3.2.1 Configuring SSL for OracleAS Portal describes various configurations, such as:
    SSL to OracleAS Single Sign-On
    SSL to OracleAS Web Cache
    SSL Throughout OracleAS Portal
External SSL with Non-SSL Within Oracle Application Server
For larger enterprise configurations, you can refer to the Enterprise Deployment Guide.
Can you give a bit more background on what you are trying to set up? Which scenario, what sort of hardware, software versions, and so on.
    Regards,
    Pete

  • Error while running BPEL Process with Oracle Apps Adapter.

    Hi All,
I am trying to configure the oracle apps adapter in JDeveloper.
Here my EBS is running on different database where as SOA is installed on different database.
I am able to properly configure the adapter & deploy the process to weblogic server.
But when I am trying to run the process I am getting following errorr.
    <p>
The JCA Binding Component was unable to establish an outbound JCA CCI connection due to the following issue: BINDING.JCA-12510\nJCA Resource Adapter location error.\nUnable to locate the JCA Resource Adapter via .jca binding file element <connection-factory/>\nThe JCA Binding Component is unable to startup the Resource Adapter specified in the <connection-factory/> element: location='*<JNDI Name passed in Oracle apps Adapter.>*'.\nThe reason for this is most likely that either \n 1) the Resource Adapters RAR file has not been deployed successfully to the WebLogic Application server or \n 2) the '<jndi-name>' element in weblogic-ra.xml has not been set to <JNDI Name passed in Oracle apps Adapter.>
    </p>
Please suggest the solution for the same.
its really urgent . waiting for reply.
Edited by: aumathe on Dec 16, 2010 2:33 PM

Have you created a connection pool with the JNDI specified while configuring adapter in Oracle Apps adapter on weblogic admin console. You should create it at Deployments --> OracleAppsAdapter --> Configuration--> Outbound Connection pools
Make sure to update the adapter after creating a connection pool so that changes can take effect.

  • Configure SSL Throughout Portal in 10.1.2.0.2

My installation is going to contain both the Infrastructure (IM, SSO) as well as the Middle-tier (Portal) and I want to later configure SSL. Oracle says in the documentation that the servername must be different for each home. I'm thinking that I will use the hosts file to alias the IP address but I'm not sure if the installer looks at the file or somewhere in the system to get the machine name. I don't want to change the machine name after the infrastructure installation has completed but I can change the hosts file and the order of the alias names. Has anyone successfully done this before that can point me in the right direction?
    Thanks,
    Denise

I've looked at the tool but my concern is having the infrastructure & midtier on the same box. I want to make sure that the initial installation is correct since each installation requires a different server name for ssl to work.
Has anyone done this and gotten it to work? Suggestions, or things to look out for?
    Thanks,
    Denise

  • Does UMX Work with both Oracle Apps 11i and Oracle Portal

    Hi,
I am looking for some information related to UMX, Please share...
Has some one setup UMX in your 11i instance.. How comfortable it is after installation
I am looking to setup UMX for an Apps11i instance...
I am also sharing this Apps11i Database with Portal and Discoverer installation.
It is my initial understanding that the UMX is tightly coupled with Apps11i, Can I also integrate or use UMX with Discoverer/Portal.
Well, my basic purpose of exploring UMX is to get the Automatic Password Reset. If you are aware of anyother Password reset feature (which is not custom built using FND_USER Package & Procedure, coz..upgrade/maintenance issue), Please let me know.
    With kind regards,
    JRF.

  • Configuring DBTableOraDataSourceLoginModule with Oracle Application Server

    Hi,
I want to deploy an application that uses DBTableOraDataSourceLoginModule for J2EE authentication. I've configured my application the same way that it should be configured for OC4J standalone as I didn't know how to configure it for Oracle App Server. The result is that authentication in the deployed application does not work and it always goes to error page.
I've configured orion-application.xml and data-sources.xml as demonstrated in Frank's article.
    S/\EE|)

Connection pools where OK before but now when I test them I get the following error:
Unable to establish connection to "jdev-connection-pool-ExirSec". Error message: Exception occurred testing connection. Exception: java.sql.SQLException: User credentials doesn't match the existing ones.
I have two DB connections in my application, one for the whole application and another for security purposes. How many Data Sources and Connection Pools and of what type should I have in JDBC Resources of OracleAS EM, when I deploy the application? Currently I have one managed and one native data source and one connection pool for each of my DB connections, as defined in my data-sources.xml.

  • JBO-33001: Configuration file /oracle/apps/crmCommon/activities/activityManagementService/applicationModule/common/bc4j.xcfg is not found in the classpath.

I am trying to consume a base model which is available in the Customer.jws (AppCmmnCompActivitiesPublicModelActivityManagement) to my Mobile UI project available in Sales.jws (SalesMobilePublicUi). We have added proper Databindings.cpx entry for accessing the applicationModule present in the model.
On deploying the sales mobile app, I get the following ConfigException:
JBO-33001: Configuration file /oracle/apps/crmCommon/activities/activityManagementService/applicationModule/common/bc4j.xcfg is not found in the classpath.
The bc4j.xcfg mentioned in the above path actually contains the entry. On checking about this issue, I found out that the prominent solution would be model project should be added as Dependencies to the UI project. But the UI is in different workspace (Sales.jws) and so the list of dependencies shown are those of this workspace only, whereas the model is present in Customer.jws and it does not come under the dependencies list.
How can this issue be resolved? Please let me know any pointers on solving this issue.

Build an adfLibrary from the model in the Customers.jws and add this adfLibrary to the other ui project. This will get you the dependency.

  • Oracle Apps 11.5.10 How to start configuration.

    Hello All,
I’m stuck 11.5.10.2+ in a new installation that is working and nobody use for configuration problems since Dec 2005, this project has passed to me now.
When some body here decide to use oracle 11i they start to configure the software with iSetup and they never end. Now isetup is not longer available and I’m stuck in how to push the configuration and do wherever needed to make this work.
My question: How can I start configure Oracle Apps 11.5.10.2 or exist something similar to iSetup that can help to reduce the work and increase the accuracy.
    Any help will be welcome.

iSetup is used to copy setups between two or more instances, and reporting on setups in an existing instance. But you can not configure a new instance out of scratch using iSetup. You can copy the setup from an existing instance.
    Note:176465.1 -
Oracle iSetup supports rapidly configuring a new E-Business suite instance, copying setups between two or more instances, and reporting on setups in an existing instance.
iSetup is deployed in two parts.
iSetup Configurator runs on the web, external to your installation of the Oracle E-Business Suite. To use iSetup Configurator, connect to http://isetup.oracle.com (now decommissioned - read next note).
iSetup Migrator and Reporter are part of the Oracle E-Business Suite that you access using the Oracle iSetup responsibility. You also use iSetup Migrator to load a configuration you create using iSetup Configurator.
    Note:306512.1 -
The iSetup Configurator does not support the 11i10 release of the Oracle E-Business suite. If your implementation plans extend beyond the 31st of May 2005, we suggest that you check with your consulting partners for information about solutions that may suit your needs.
The Migrator and the Reporter components of iSetup, which are a part of the E-Business suite, would continue to be enhanced and supported.
