Currency in Analytics

What is the default currency in Analytics ?
Is it the Company's defined currency or is it USD ?!

Dragos, I would guess Company default as I've not seen any of my reports show USD only AUD.

    Hi All,
We are using BI APPS 7.9.4 with OBIEE 10.1.3.3.2
We want to change the default currency for reporting from $ to £ in BI Dashboard reports.
I have edited the currencies.xml file on $INSTALLDIR/OracleBI/web/config
changed the sybmol to £ from $
    <Currency tag="int:wrhs" type="international" placeholder="true" symbol="£" format="$#" digits="2" displayMessage="kmsgCurrencySiebelWarehouse">

  • Financial Analytics Reports in Local Currency

Advise needed to help in configuring BI Apps such that the Financial Analytics reports (GL, Payables, Profitability & Receivables) show the transaction values in local currency i.e. INR instead of the default global currency USD.
I have changed the source parameter values in the DAC Container Setup while loading the data from an EBS R12 instance. The following source parameters values have been changed to INR from USD -
    $$GLOBAL1_CURR_CODE (for the document currency)
    $$GLOBAL2_CURR_CODE (for the local currency)
    $$GLOBAL3_CURR_CODE (for the global currency)
However, the Finacial Analytics Reports do not show any transactional values for the selected Ledger (having INR as the global currency). The data is populated in the Local Closing Amount, Local Opening Amount etc columns of the Fact - GL Balance but no data is populated in the Closing Amount (Global), Opening Amount(Global) etc columns.
Please advise to resolve the above mentioned localization issue in Financial Analytics.

    Hi
Yuo can try to use FOR ALL ENTRIES option.
    IF you have:
    WERKS BTRTL
    Z002 Z001
    Z002 Z002
    Z003 Z001
    Z003 Z002
You should do something like that:
DATA: BEGIN OF <TAB_SEL> OCCURS 1,
           WERKS TYPE WERKS,
           BTRTL TYPE BTRTL,
          END   OF <TAB_SEL>.
    WERKS BTRTL
    <TAB_SEL>-WERKS = 'Z002'. <TAB_SEL>-BTRTL = 'Z001'.
    APPEND <TAB_SEL>.
    <TAB_SEL>-WERKS = 'Z002'. <TAB_SEL>-BTRTL = 'Z002'.
    APPEND <TAB_SEL>.
    <TAB_SEL>-WERKS = 'Z003'. <TAB_SEL>-BTRTL = 'Z001'.
    APPEND <TAB_SEL>.
    <TAB_SEL>-WERKS = 'Z003'. <TAB_SEL>-BTRTL = 'Z002'.
    APPEND <TAB_SEL>.
SELECT * FROM <TABLE> INTO TABLE ITAB

                       WHERE WERKS = <TAB_SEL>-WERKS

In this case you need to fill correctly the internal table <TAB_SEL> with the all combinations.

  • How to change default currency in BI Apps

We need to run siebel sales & marketing analytics . Now we have two questions.
    1. I can't find default currency parameter in DAC's Source System Parameters. How could we change the default currency from USD to CNY.
    2. We can run all jobs successfully, but most of area in BI Dashboard id displaied 'No resault' ... even if we use the copy of product data.

    Hi,
In DAC>Source System Parameters > $$GLOBAL1_CURR_CODE parameter, here you need to change from USD to CNY. Refer OBIA document for these currency codes. Genereally $$GLOBAL1_CURR_CODE refers to Document currency, $$GLOBAL2_CURR_CODE refers to Local currency and $$GLOBAL3_CURR_CODE refers to Global currency.
You need to change this code based on your requirement.
Anyone correct me if am wrong....Hope this helps you.........

  • Financial Analytics 7.9.6 - Reconciling to EBS 11.5.10 Data Source

    Hi all,
Thank you for taking the time to review this post.
    Environment
    BI Apps: Financial Analytics 7.9.6
    Source system: EBS 11.5.10
    Question
I have completed the BAW ETL load from my EBS 11.5.10 source system and am trying to reconcile the data in the warehouse with the EBS data to ensure it has loaded successfully. I have started by running Parameterised General Ledger -> Trial Balance OOTB Dashboard reports in BI against similar parametrised Trial Balance Summary reports in EBS, and they have successfully reconciled in my local currency (AUD). However, I need to add the "Local" currency columns to the OOTB request when I run a report against a foreign currency (GBP).
This is all easily done but it is time consuming. Can anyone out there share with us all their techniques for reconciling data volumes and values, specifically for EBS 11.5.10 data source?
    Thank you!
    Kind Regards,
    Gary.

    Oracle BI Applications 7.9.6
Oracle BI Enterprise Edition Plus 10.1.3.4Isn't 10.1.3.4.1 the OBIEE release for OBIA 7.9.6?
And any reason you're not going for OBIA 7.9.6.1?
I don't know of patches off the top of my head, you're best off spending a couple of hours trawling My Oracle Support, that'll throw the candidates up.

    Hi,
Placing the image file in /l_en folder dint work for me too however you can place them inside the following paths and restart the services,
    1)
    \MW_HOME\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\servers\AdminServer\tmp\_WL_user\analytics_11.1.1\silp1v\war\res\s_blafp\images
    2)
    \MW_HOME\Oracle_BI1\bifoundation\web\app\res\s_blafp\images
You can then call your file with the url, http://hostname:port/analytics/res/imagefile.jpg
Its worked for me, let me know in case of any issues.

  • Local, Document and Third Currency Driven Amount?

Guys, in the presentation and RPD layer, i see local, document amounts for just about every Fin Analytics subject area.
What if the we want to have a "reporting" currency in EURO (example only). How do we expose that column into presentation layer?
I see no "Global" column in the RPD except the following:
Global Currency Code --> Currency Attributes
Balance Global1 Amount --> Facts - GL Balance
What about something like "Global Amount" which show data in EURO.
    Thanks for any pointers.

    HI,
The currency codes for the GLOBAL currencies are set in DAC configuration. See section "3.1.2 How to OCnfigure Global Currencies" in the "Oracle® Business Intelligence Applications Configuration Guide for Informatica PowerCenter Users Version 7.9.6.1 " manual if you are on 7.9.6.1 or 2 or the same section in the 7.9.6.3 version of the manual if that is appropriate.
This goes through how to set your Global Currencies so they are populated correctly in the datawarehouse.
For example if you set Global1 to be EUR then your Balance Global1 Amount --> Facts - GL Balance presentation column will be in EUR.
Alos in ither financial SA's the GLOBAL1 amount is used as the amount e.g. AP Amount -> Facts AP Transactions. If you look at the Logical source for this it's computed from the GLOBAL1 columns.
    Hope this helps.

  • Secondary Leger/New Currency reporting

    Hi,
We have one requirement to include new currency for new OU. Present situation is that for one of our client there are having one Business Group and one ledger with three OU's under them.
Functional currecy is in USD and reporting was happening based on this currency till now. Recently they have acquired one more entity and they want that we need to include that currecny as reporting currency in place of the USD for this entity/OU.
As functional currency will not be able to show details/value in new currency for that new that entity.
Pls suggest what might be correct approach in R12 in dealling such kind of requirments. My understanding to define secondary ledger and add new currency to this, will it be helpful for me. And then all standard reports needs to be customized according to that.
Or is there any other better way then please confirm.
    Rgds,
    Nagendra

    Hi,
Another thing you could do is have an initialisation block which picks up the user's preferred currency from somewhere (if you are using Siebel you could have a user pref or something). Then the logical column can use a case statement to return the value in the correct currency based on the variable value.
I have seen this at a client and it worked well, at that client all monetary values were stored in the datawarehouse as the local/base currency and 3 different global currencies. The currency value then returned to the user depended on the currency they had selected in a user preference in Siebel (the initialisation block just read the value from the DB for that user at session start).
    Regards,
    Matt
P.S. In Analytics Apps 7.9.x onwards there is support for up to 3 global currencies out of the box (i.e. the mapplets for conversion can handle 3 and there is space for 3 in the DAC properties) I would imagine the other OBIA have the same functionality

  • Issue with Extended Analytics

    Hi,
I have an entity(say A) which is a shared member across 2 hierarchies. The immediate parent for this entity is different across both the hierarchies (say X and Y). The default parent is X.
I am using Extended Analytics to extract the adjustment values of A(both entity currency adjustments and parent currency adjustments). A and X are in USD and Y is in AUD.
So, in Extended Analytics, I need to be able to select the exact parent-child combination to get the values. But in the parent ID column, I am always getting a value of -1 which means Default member not in Use.
Has anyone faced this issue before? Am I going wrong somewhere?

  • OBIA - Global Currency Code

I have a question regarding the following parameters for OBIA:
    $$GLOBAL1_CURR_CODE
    $$GLOBAL2_CURR_CODE
    $$GLOBAL3_CURR_CODE
In the Configuration guide, it specifically states the following:
    $$GLOBAL1_CURR_CODE is for Document Currency
    $$GLOBAL2_CURR_CODE is for Local Currency
    $$GLOBAL3_CURR_CODE is for Global Currency
    Question:
    1. My initial understanding was that the 3 parameters are just 3 options of defaulting the global currency on the report. So am I correct? Or each Global Curr Code parameter has a different purpose? And it is so, what is the purpose?
    2. With the prior paramters in mind, is each Global Exchange Rate Type parameter for each Global Current Code? i.e. $$GLOBAL1_CURR_CODE is for $$GLOBAL1_RATE_TYPE
    3. Could user create their own custom Global Exchange Rate Type? i.e. I see Corporate, User, EMU, and 2 custom types --> 1. Average 2. Monthly
    4. In the Oracle Analytics Warehouse, how are all this being reflected? I noticed that the fact tables store all three exchange rates. How will these exchange rate be reflected on the report? Or it is meant for custom reports and custom conversion between those three exchange rates?
    Thanks in advance,
    Alvin

Bump. Any insight would be help. Thank you in advance!

  • Problem on currency fields

    Hello all,
I want to display currency fields in a report based on opportunities on analytics (fields revenue and expected revenue).
At level society, currency is euro.
I have english and french peoples working on OCOD: so currency for french people is euro and currency for english people is GBP.
When I launch the report for french people, fields revenue and expected revenue are ok, but they are empty for english people when revenue is not empty on OCOD!
With my admistrator user I could see value of currency fields revenue but in euro (because my user is french).
Is anyone have the same problem and is there a solution ?

  • Spend Analytics - SP6 patch

    Hi all,
We have performance problems with Spend Analytics in production system. So that, we implement the SP6 patch 1 in portal development system. Besides, we follow the steps through the SDN document: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/709f5e74-837b-2d10-09b8-82aae582bca3.
At last, we started the testing of the reports with this upgrade and we saw the folloging:
    1) In the ratios where you can choose the "local currency" and "transactional currency" , the checkbox "currency" is disabled.
    2) In the "properties" of the reports, the url dissapeared. We need this URL for others requirements.
    3) When we maximize the windows in order to see more rows of the report, We can not enter the name of Dimensions and / or ratios in the dialog box. This dialog box is located in the left of the monitor and it is used to search de dimensions or ratios quickly.
    4) We modified the model with certains extra characteristics and the Sp6 patch was applied in BW too. So, does it replace the old model with new modifications? I dont see any variation in BW model....
    Regards,
    Gastó

    Hi Gaston,
    1) could you calrify this point? I'm not sure what is meant here
    2) Have you saved your report? You need to have saved the report for the URL to exist. I still see a URL on SP6 P3.
    3) Note 1603200 was released to describe this behaviour. This is an Adobe Flex design limitation, rather than an SPM one. Check this link for a work around that may help. [Email Button in SPM|Email Button in SPM]
    4) Patches do also affect the ABAP side, however it does not reinstall business content. Some ABAP changes changes are released as separate notes. You can view all of these by looking at all of the notes and filtering on EPM-SA as the "Application Area". Consult note 1424521 SPM 2.1 "central release note", that gives a summary of expected changes both in the UI and on the ABAP stack.
    Hope this helps,
    Kind regards,
    Neil

  • Configuring Global Currencies in BI Apps 7.9.6 for EBS 11.5.10 Source

    Hi All,
After reviewing the Configuring Common Areas and Dimensions section of the Oracle BI Applications document [Oracle Business Intelligence Applications Configuration Guide for Informatica PowerCenter Users Version 7.9.6 E14216-01|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14223_01/bia.796/e14216.pdf] I have a question regarding section +3.1.2 How to Configure Global Currencies+.
    Background
OLTP Source: Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10
    OBI Apps: Financial Analytics 7.9.6
We have 49 enabled Currencies and multiple Sets of Books (SOBs) each with a different Functional Currency and I am concerned with the limitations of the Global Currencies configuration within OBI Apps. From the documentation it states that:
Global currencies. Oracle BI Applications provides three global currencies, which are the common currencies used by the Oracle Business Analytics Warehouse. I'm keen to know if the 3 standard Global Currencies can be extended by adding further custom parameters in the Source System Parameters e.g. $$GLOBAL4_CURR_CODE, $$GLOBAL5_CURR_CODE, etc. and corresponding Exchange Rate parameters $$GLOBAL4_RATE_TYPE, etc.
From the documentation definition of Document, Local and Global currencies, the following configuration for the Global currencies does not make much sense:
    $$GLOBAL1_CURR_CODE (for the document currency).
    $$GLOBAL2_CURR_CODE (for the local currency).
$$GLOBAL3_CURR_CODE (for the global currency).Presumably these should be the 3 standard Global Currency definitions. If so, I want to confirm that the Document and Local currencies get picked up automatically depending on your EBS configuration?
Thanks for your time, all input greatly appreciated... and points duly awarded :-)
    Have a great day.
    Kind Regards,
    Gary.

    Hi,
The 3 Global currency codes are different from functional , local currency.
All the transactions are brought into the warehouse and there is no limitation to the number of currencies that can be brought in but for reporting purpose you want to convert all these transactions in multiple currencies to a single currency ...lets say US$ and at a monthly rate or GBP at a spot rate etc..
So in a nutshell the document and local currenclies do come in and there is no configuration needed but translation to a global reporting currency and the rates at which its converted is determined by what you provide in DAC.. the conversion is done by mplt_currency_conversion which is present in each and every fact mapping.

  • Rollup Report for Project Information Multiple Currencies

    Hi All,
    Report Rollup:
We have multiple projects created in multiple currencies across multiple legal entities. Ex: Prj#1 USUSD, PRJ#2--FRA-FRF, PRJ#3--GER-MD, PRJ#4--JPA-JPY
How can we get a rollup numbers (Actuals & Budgets) for these projects.
    1. Program and project Hierarchy? -- Currencies are different
    2. Project Analytics - How conversion is handled ( Non-US projects are set up and transacted in local currencies).
    Auto Allocations:
    Any one created allocations from a PRJ#2--FRA-FRF, PRJ#3--GER-MD, PRJ#4--JPA-JPY to *Prj#1 USUSD*_
Projects are created under respective Legal Entities-->OU-->PRJ ORGS
    Thanks

    Dear Prasanna Reka,
I'm sure this can be achievable thru OBIA. Since we have something called Global Currencies on OBIA, if u have selected Global Currency 1 (ie. USD) u would be able to see the output based on the Items (Eg. OU, Buss Unit, Project Type...etc) selected on the dash board.
Please let me know if u need more info on this.
