Does anyone know how you can play video with the screen locked and not just recorded video. Like downloaded video?

So I want to be able to play video mp4 for my kids and lock the screen so that they don't disable or stop the video. Is there anyway you can lock the screen and play video? I've seen an app that tries to do this, but it only plays video recorded from the device. Also, it's not very good. I've also looked at IOS 5, but it only seems to support audio, not video, unless I am not doing something correctly? What happened to the simple old manual 'hold' switches that most devices have, like the PSP etc? It seems like all of the touch devices have neglected a simple touch disable button? Anyway, please provide any enlightenment here.

actually nevermind, it's working now. I closed iTunes, then waited a little, then double clicked one of my iTunes video files from my documents, which opened up iTunes again and the video started playing. I tried restarting iTunes before and that didn't work, so maybe for those who have similar problems, just try clicking on the video file in your documents/desktop of your computer, rather than directly from iTunes.

Does anyone know if you can use dictation with Microsoft Word?

I am looking to get Moutian Lion but was just wondering if you can use dictation for Microsoft Word or any other word document program.

I have personally used it with Word and it does work. I even think I remember reading that you can use it with any program in which you can type. Go to settings on your macbook to make sure it's turned on. Chances are your shortcut to access dictation is pressing the Fn key twice.

Does anyone know how you can save your apps and games on your iPad when you switch iTunes accounts?

We are a family of 5, each with our own Apple devices (at least 2 per member). We have been using one iTunes account for the devices with the exception of my wife's iPhone. All of the kids devices have been on my iTunes account. We would now like to set each of the kids up with their own iTunes account but we are concerned that to do so will mean that we will have to repurchase all of the apps and games and that the progressive games like Dragonvale will be lost. Can anyone help?

Does anyone know how to use iWork series with the cloud?

Im not seeing how to get my iMac docs linked to the cloud with the new OSX Mountain Lion. I see a move button in the menu but cannot find directions on how this works. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks

Here's the easiest way to get documents into iCloud with iWork.
Open up an iWork application (version 9.2) and choose "Open." You'll get the file dialog. Click the iCloud button in the upper left if it isn't selected already so you get the grey linen background.
Then open a Finder window and find the relevant iWork documents you want in iCloud. Simply drag them to the iWork document 'Open" window and they will be moved to iCloud.
Note iCloud is not general-purpose file storage. You can ONLY store Keynote files in Keynote iCloud, Pages in Pages, and Numbers in numbers. So project folders where you have multiple different files types in the same folder are out.

You can download and install MPlayerX free from Apple App Store. Works great for AVI and other movie formats. I had issues with some AVI's and MPlayerX resolved them.

First, how are you trying to play them? You need to play them by clicking on library on the left side of iTunes and clicking on music. The whle song will play by doing this.

Does anyone know how I can retrieve this. Somehow my cat moved ITunes to the middle of the desktop and I now get this message and cannot open it. You can't open the application iPhoto because it may be damaged or incomplete.

You need a more technically saavy cat, for a start.
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

This usually indicates a problem with your router or cable modem, your ISP's service or cabling outside your house. First thing I'd try is rebooting the router/cable modem (turn it off, wait 1 minute, then turn it back on).

I'm not certain I know what you want to do, but consider these ideas:
(1) If you have seen a video of people doing it, the people who made the video surely know how. Ask them if you can.

(3) The easiest way I was able to record my screen and simultaneous video of me in a window in the top corner of my display was to use two webcams. I used QuickTimeX to make a screen recording while I used my built-in iSight to show me moving in my Photo Booth window on the display.

If you are using Safari as a web browser :-
Open Safari, go to Safari menu > Preferences > General, and put Google as the homepage. Then, choose Google as your default search engine.
If you are using Google Chrome as the web browser :-
Open Google Chrome.
In the top right corner of the page, click the Chrome menu Chrome menu > Settings.
In the "Search" section, select Google from the drop-down menu.

I click on the file i wish to view (via a portal)
this file goes to notification widget (i drag down screen)
notification/message says download complete
i click on notification/message
nows it says complete action using (here i only have 2 icon options 1= DB Text Editor 2 = HTML Viewer)

I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.

You cannot merge Apple IDs but you can go to Settings > iCloud and 'Delete Account'. When prompted to turn off documents and data, choose the only option which is Delete from my iPhone, but on the other prompt for Contacts, Calendars, etc you can choose 'Keep on my iPhone' Then once the Account is Deleted form the iPhone, log back in with the correct Apple ID and choose Merge when prompted. This will merge your data from this iPhone with that iCloud account effectively putting your devices on the same account.
