Error in Distribution of Actual cost in Cost Object Hierarchy

Hi,
I am getting an error while doing the Distribution of Actual cost from Cost Object Node to the assigned Order.
Cost element/origin 630000 could not be distributed
Message no. KZ468
Diagnosis
The cost element/ origin 630000 could not be distributed because there are no target costs for this cost element/origin or for cost element group CO-PC-TOT.
Procedure
Check the calculated target costs and cost element group CO-PC-TOT assigned to the target cost version.
Procedure for System Administration
Proceed
Although the Cost element is Present in cost element group CO-PC-TOT.
One more information, the order  that is assigned in Cost Object Hierarchy is of CO-Product orders.
I have searched in the forum but I havent got any solution.
Kindly help.
regards
Kami

Hi,
Concerning error message KZ 468, it has the following origin: In the  customizing of the cost object category (transaction okz5), check if the 'single object selection' is set to 'Control through variance key'. If you consider the F1-Help for this option you will find the following  explanation:
if the indicator Control through variance key is turned on, the production order, process order, or product cost collector can only be assigned to the cost object hierarchy if:
-> The material is assigned to the lowest node of the hierarchy
-> No variance key is specified in the order
The important point is, that orders that have a variance key are excluded from the cost distribution.
In transaction KKF8 you will find that all these orders do indeed have  a variance key. Hence, all of these orders are included, there are no target costs from the orders and the costs cannot be distributed. Thus the error message kz 468.
Please consider that and check the customizing again.
Not having target costs in the distribution indicates either a wrong set up of the hierarchy or, more likely, no valid cost estimate for a certain material of a production order or product cost collector could be found.
Did you check whether for this cost element/origin target costs exist, and also for the cost element group? If not the message KZ468 is correct and probably the cost element group has to be maintained properly.
The distribution of actual costs calculates target costs on-the-fly and the variance calculation does not have to be carried out before. Quite the opposite than the variance calculation requires the distribution as a preceding step. Furthermore it is not sufficient that one cost element is in a cost element group but the interval where the cost element has been assigned to has to have some target costs. Otherwise this won't work and message KZ468 is issued.

  • The performance of Distribution of Cost Object Hierarchy Costs.

    Dear SAP Gurus.
I am checking the function and the performance about Cost Object Hierarchies distribution with Control Through Variance Key.
The number of production orders assigned to COH is about 100,000 per month.
All orders will be closed at current month and new 100,000 production order will be assigned to COH at next month.
My concern is about performance of Distribution of Cost Object Hierarchy Costs
because a huge number of orders will be accumulatedly assigned to the Cost Object Hierarchies.
I think that the COH will be distributed with not bad performance.
(Actually I want that to be OK.)
    What's your opinion about that?
    Sincerely.
    Mahnkwi.

    Hi Mahnkwi,
Sender-/receiver-relations should definitely be below 1:1000 or even below 1:500. This depends on other factors like general size of the hierarchy and data to be processed as well. This hierarchy needs to be restructured. In case you do this the
distribution needs to be reversed first.
Below are some other hints on performance in KKPX
    - Parallel processing should be used.(note [386508|https://css.wdf.sap.corp/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=0000386508])
    - Switch off detail lists since the consume lots of memory.
    - Old orders should be archived.
Note [77718|https://css.wdf.sap.corp/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=0000077718] also explains tips to avoid the memory error for transaction KKPX or KKPY. As note explains, you should consider
whether a distribution of the cost elements according to their origin is required; if not, the corresponding indicator should not be set in the costing view of the materials.
If many error message is issued in the error log, this may have bad effect on the memory of your server. In this case, you should make these error message "not to be displayed" by message control in IMG.

  • Distribution of assessed costs/secundary cost elements

    Hi All,
I am trying to figure out the assessment and dsitribution topic. Now I run into the fact that I am not able to distribute cost from an assessment secundary cost element. What I want to achieve is the following:
Using a G/L posting I posted 4000 euros on cost center HOUSING. Based on square meters I assessed those costs to 3 other cost centers, IT, SALES and PRODUCTION. This works fine.
After assessing I have 750 on cost center IT, coming from HOUSING. Now I want to distribute all IT costs to cost centers SALES and PRODUCTION. However, the distribution process does not distribute the 750 euros of 'assessed HOUSING' costs from the IT cost center. Other costs (coming from G/L) on the IT cost center ARE distributed. I have some warnings stating that secundary costs are not supported in primary cost distribution. Is there another way to distribute those secundary costs?
    Thx, Paul

    Hi,
Secondary cost elements postings, you can't allocate costs using distribution cycles.
you have to use assessments to allocate secondary costs element postings.
    see below explainations.
    Distribution
Distribution is an activity that you perform periodically, during the period-end closing in Overhead Cost Controlling (CO-OM), in which primary overhead costs are distributed from one or more sender objects to one or more receiver objects.
Many documents in Financial Accounting involve overhead costs. A clear allocation to one or more cost centers is not possible, or only with a major effort. You can use the allocation cost centers and internal orders as auxiliary constructs in such cases. During distribution, these costs are allocated (distributed) from their allocation cost centers to the actual receivers according to freely definable rules. The sender cost center is credited, and the receiving cost center charged, under the original cost element. In contrast to periodic reposting, however, the accounting information is lost in the process.
    Assessment
Assessment is an activity that you perform periodically, during the period-end closing in Overhead Cost Controlling (CO-OM), in which primary and secondary overhead costs are assessed from one or more sender objects to one or more receiver objects.
Assessment means that the sending cost center is credited and the receiving cost center is charged under a freely definable secondary cost element. The original cost elements that were charged by the sender cost center are lost, and are converted to one or more assessment cost elements (secondary cost elements).
Assessment groups together the posted primary and secondary costs and allocates them to the receiving cost center(s) in an assessment cost element. The cost centers for assessment are the quality lab, IT, cafeteria, housekeeping and plant security.
For example, you could assess the cost from the Reception cost center to the other cost centers based on the headcount managed in those cost centers.
    hope this helps you.
    Thanks,
    Rau

  • Report for production order with actual and target cost for each

    Hi
Is there any report that gives me the list of all production orders in a month with its respective actual and target costs?
I can use COOIS to get a list of production orders, then double click on the prod order, then click on goto and then to cost analyis.. but can i avoid going through all this and get a report with the details i need?
    thanks in advance

    Thanks a lot for that.
I'm a little confused with the columns in the report.
Which columns should I keep for my requirement? -
    Production Order
    Total Target Cost
    Total Actual Cost
    Total Actual Qty
    Total Target Qty

  • Budget/Actual/Commt/Plan Costs

    Hi Gurus,
i am running the below transactions,
    S_ALR_87013558 - Budget/Actual/Commt
    S_ALR_87013560 – Execute Budget Updates
    S_ALR_87013533 – Plan/Actual/Commt
Now my Job is to extract the Data out of these reports,
now since there are so many Finance costs are there , and most of them are being calculated , it's though to get correct Table Logics.
Also debugging the whole standard transactions seems to be impossible,
I tired fetching the report Data using ALV Extraction , but due to fact that ALV is disabled in standard code, i can not, fetching from Spool is also not feasible due to Performance issue.
Also since PS Module interacts with every Other Modules so installing BI Content is also not feasible to me,
Now , can anyone please help to understand , how to fetch data from these reports.
i have already seen so many posts with same problems, but none were able to solve it.
i would love to go with the Table Logic Approach, can you please help me.
    Thanks in advance
    Aman

You could try to extract yourself the data
Use logical database PSJ or report RKPSEL00 + variant to generate list of objects in project hierarchy
Read CO Total table (e.g. COSS, COSP) or FM (e.g. K_COSSA_READ_MULTI, K_COSPA_READ_MULTI)  to access cost for those objects, field WRTTP identify cost type. (actual, commited, budget, etc.)

  • PM Order Confirmation create actual posting in Cost Center, with CE type 43

    Dear Expert,
I would like to know the business flow of Plant Maintenance that impacts cost center reporting.
During PM order confirmation, it will create an actual posting in Cost Center from Cost Center Reporting (No FI posting), say CC Operation, with Cost Element type: 43, which is attached with the activity type of Labor Cost assigned the the PM module.
Example: Cost Center: CC Operation, Cost Element: 840001 (CE type: 43), Amount: USD 100- (negative sign)
    My Question:
How does this posting (currently is in controlling only) in cost center Operation with Cost Element type: 43 be reflected in my FI reporting?
Let say there is an FI posting of labor cost in CC Operation, amount USD 100, then from Cost Center Reporting, it actually offset both amounts, and this cost center become 0 in amount.
Kindly advise the concept of Plant Maintenance.
This seems like same with the concept of KB21N.
    Thanks.

    Hi Karthikeyan,
My issue and concern is similar to the issue raised as follows:
Secondary Cost Element Configuration for Plant Maintenance Order
    http://scn.sap.com/thread/3488730
In this forum, it says that the posting in CO, during PM order confirmation is ...
+10 for Order and -10 for cost center A
    After PM Order settlement:
-10 for Order and +10 for cost center A
From the cost center and PM Order CO report, they are 0 in value ...
    Is this the correct way?
    Thanks,
    -Chin

  • Conversion error in company code currency for general costs activity

    PS Experts,
Please guide me in the following , The below message appeared when i created a customer project in CJ20N in our new DEV server
    This is the scenario
Create customer project with 3 WBSE, each one has 3 NTW and 3 activities, i maintained the cost with currency same as project curr and company code currency in the first two act.
in the third activity (General act)  in cost tab i put a currency is different than project currency& company code currency and tried to save the project, the message appears.
note: Company code curr same as projet curr & controlling area curr
Is there any setting is missing in customizing
Conversion error in company code currency for general costs activity 0010
    Message no. CK443
    Diagnosis
For cost activity 0010, a conversion error occurred in the currency of the company code to which the material is assigned.
    Procedure
Check the global settings in Customizing to be sure the exchange rate for conversion into the company code currency is correct
    Thanks

    Hi Yassin,
I believe you have maintained exchange rates for rate type M as per your config in OPSB.
Now do one thing, maintain the conversion rate for P for those currencies in OB08 and then save your project.
    This will solve your problem.

  • Cost Center & Cost Element Excel Planning Profile Error - KP06

    Hi,
I have created a layout for cost center/cost element planning.after that i have created planner profile.but while saving the generic file,i am getting the below error and not able to save that.Kindly advice me.
A later upload is not possible with this layout
    Message no. K9363
    Diagnosis
The layout cannot be used for an upload. This can be caused by one of the following situations:
The layout does not contain a data field that is ready for input.
The layout has a lead column that only contains the text for the characteristic value and not the characteristic value itself
    The layout contains formulas
The layout has a complex lead column and contains empty lines.
    System response
If generic file names have already been created (that is, an upload is intended), the file description cannot be saved.
    Procedure
If you want to use the layout for an upload, configure it accordingly.
If one of the last three situations is the case, the layout can only be used for manual planning and not for an upload. In this case, remove the generic file name.
    Thanks

  • Target cost, planned cost, actual cost difference

    Hi!
As per my understanding , the target cost, planned cost, actual will be calculated like blow:
Actual cost = Actual quanity * Actual price ( standard price or moving average price) existed at the time of goods movement.
Planned cost = Planned quantity * Planned price ( standard price or moving average price) existed at the time of production order release based on valuation variant strategy.
Target cost = Planned Quantity * Actual price ( standard price or moving average price) when calculating variances.
    whether above formulas are correct?
I have one scenario, where in process order, I am not seeing Planned quanity for compoenent/raw material, but target quanity is existed. How it is possible. When I have checked the BOM in process order, the BOM does not contain the componenet.
    regs,
    ramesh

    Hi,
Target Cost = Costs as per the standard cost estimate * Actual Qty delivered.
For e.g. Std cost for one unit of material-x is as follows.
    RM 1 - 10kg * 10 /-  = 100
    Activity 1 - 5 Hr * 50 /-  = 250
If the actual delivery from the production is 2 units, then target cost will update as
    Under Goods Issue, RM 1 - (10kg*2units) * 10 /- = 200
    Under Confirmations, Activity 1 - (5 Hr*2units) * 50/- = 500
    Total = 200+500 = 700
Target cost for goods issue/confirmation of activities will update only when the Goods receipt has been done but not at the time of goods issue or Confirmation of activities.
Target cost for Goods Receipt will update only when the variance has been calculated for the order.

  • Cost Distribution - Infotype 0027  and 1018 cost distri in OM

    Hi All,
Whats the difference in functionality between assigning cost center in
"Cost Distribution - Infotype 0027  and 1018 cost distri in OM"
One in employee leven and 2nd in position level, but the concept is same i think,
Also if we assign cost center in department wise, can we identify the cost in individual employee level?
    help
    Rx

    Hi Rx,
    There is no difference.
The system reads cost data by following path:
    1. read IT 0027
    2. if not found in IT 0027, read IT 1018
    3. if not fount in IT 1018, read IT 0001
So, yes it is possible to overwrite IT 1018 via IT 0027.
    Cheers!

    Hi
    COSP: For External Postings (Target/Plan/Actual)
    COSS: For Internal Postings (Target/Plan/Actual)
COSPD (Actual only): Settlement entries i.e. GR and GI upon confirmation, for Primary cost elements
COSSD (Actual only): Settlment entries i.e. activity confirmation
Target/Plan/Actual is differentiated by a separate indicator
