Error with MetConv in Office tools - Add-ins

Hi,
I have problem with office on my computer.  I have Win 7 and both Office 2007 and 2013.
When I  try to open form with Add-ons, it shows me this message error : "An error has occurred in MetConv.txt file! Please view the MetConv.log for more information.
Do you have any idea how to solve this problem? This problem happens with all Office tools.
I have tried both repairing Office and reinstalling it. So far nothing helps.
Thanks

Hi,
How did you remove Office from your computer? You might want to use
Microsoft Fix It tool to remove Office installation from your computer completely as the normal uninstallation via control panel will leave some residues on your computer.
Please try to install any available updates to your newly installed Office, then have a try.
You can also disable the Measurement Converter option in FILE>Options>Proofing>AutoCorrect Options...>Action
and verify result.
Here is an introduction of Measurement Converter, you might want to have a look:

  • Office 2007 add-ins will not load on Windows 7 x64

    Hi there,
    I have a brand new built Windows 7 x64 desktop with Office 2007 32 bit installed. When I install Oracle BI Publisher Desktop 11.1.1.7.0 it loads without errors. Except none of the add-ins will load. I have done the usual Add-ins / Com Add-in / Tick box but nothing.
    After further investigation it appears there is a VSTO 4.0 error on the machine when I run the C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\DotNet2007\TBAddin.vsto. The error itself is only failed when it tries to download savexmldata.png from C:/Program Files (x86)/Oracle/BI Publisher/BI Publisher Desktop/DotNet2007/Resources. The fact is there isn't a folder called Resources nor a file called savexmldata.png.
    I thought it may be an assemblies error and tried installing the newest versions of Microsoft Office 2007 Primary Interop Assemblies and Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Tools Office Runtime (x64) but all are up to date.
    See below for the error:-

    Yup, A ok.
    Did you stop mail services before moving your

    Yes, not that much of a UNIX noob.
    Is your /etc/imapd.conf file OK?
    Well on this one I'd have to ask what would not be OK? I was porting from a PowerPC to the Intel and I used Server Admin to copy mail config via "Mail Config.plist" exported from old to new. Is the some differance between the PowerPC /etc/imapd.conf and the Intel UB install of MacOSX Server 10.4.7 /etc/imapd.conf?

    HI,
    Are you installing J2EE Add-in with SSL option activated ? If so, I think there is some IAIK/SSL libraries that have to presented on server to proceed with installation successfully. You can also try installing Add-in without SSL/https option activated and configure SSL afterwards.
    Regards,

  • Text is running together on some pages and not others. i've tried no squint and playing around with text options in tools. I can't strike a good balance.

    I can't seem to figure out how to have a full screen experience with larger text and everything is in proportion. Either the right end of lines are chopped off, or lines of text are running into each other and out of boundaries.
    == This happened ==
    Not sure how often
    == I installed FF earlier this evening. I've had FF before and my gripe was the inability to set a certain magnification. I found the no squint add on and it seems very good, but somewhere I'm getting stuck. I've been fiddling with no squint, font options in tools and size and resolution settings for my monitor.

    i'm also having major CPU problems w/ FF 29.0.1. when i restart the app it calms down again but after loading tabs it steadily climbs up to 100% after not too long. i have checked out the 2 CPU links/articles above and do all the basic troubleshooting and tips, but with all the FF tools & add-ons isn't there some sort of CPU monitor that has the ability to display which extensions/scripts are hogging the CPU? Activity Monitor on Mac just shows the total used by the app. it's impossible in my case to efficiently disable dozens of add-ons & scripts, restart, and test each one by one b/c it can take several hrs before the CPU starts to spike high again. i have no time for this.
    thanks

  • When I go to Tools Add-ons, nothings shows under Add-ons, Extensions, etc.

    The only clickable item there is "check for updates." My add-ons are all working, but none show up. Same for Extensions, Appearance, Plugins, Services.
    I don't know how long it's been this way, because I've had no need to check until last Friday, when I picked up some malware that slides open a tab from the right-hand side of my screen with "Hot Deals" on it.
    Firefox's "Automatically add" option tells me that listed below are my add-ons (though I can't see them in my own Add-ons tab). There are several there I don't recognize at all, but I have no idea how I can remove them without that page properly loading.

    Thanks for any help you can offer.

    If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
    Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit)
    *If you have many extensions then first enable half of the extensions to test which half has the problem.
    *Continue to divide the bad half that still has the issue until you find which one is causing it.

  • License for OEM Grid Control or just the additional Packs and Add-Ins?

    I have searched the forums and found the link below in a discussion about the Enterprise Manager Grid Control, but nobody answered this question specifically:
    Can you freely install and use the Grid Control (with no additional Packs or Add-Ins)? Or does the Grid Control itself require a license?
    P.S. The price list linked here only displays prices for Grid Control Packs and Add-Ins:
    www.oracle.com/corporate/pricing/eplext.pdf

    Wow, 25 separate dbcontrols sound like a nightmare.
    By the way, our Oracle rep just happened to come here yesterday, and he validated what was said here.
    You can install the Grid Control free; you simply un-check the Packs/Add-Ins during the install.
    As I understand it, you would install the Grid Control Agent first on each server, then when you install Oracle RDBMS, the Universal Installer will detect the Agent and enable the Grid Control instead of the Database Control.
    Then you install the OEM Grid Control repository and software on a separate server, and that is where you manage all of the Oracle RDBMS servers from.
    He also said to use the highest version Grid Control Agents on the database servers and repository server and keep the versions of that software in sync, which is separate from the Oracle RDBMS version.

    My iphone calendar stopped syncing with outlook 7 thru the cloud. I clicked on outlook tools, trust center, add ins. I noted that icloud add in had been disabled. I tried to re enable it but got a message that this change could only be done by administrator. I am the administrator. Help???? Any ideas?

    I do not believe this. I have been going nuts trying everything as in prior posts, and this has been a problem for users at least since 2010. I had this problem a long time ago and didn't pay too much attention to it because it was my iPad, and I depended on my BB a a base calander to feed Outlook. I became very concerned within the past week when I switched my BB to iPhone 5s, and was carrying both because I still needed to carry the BB for new calander enteries to sync up to Outlook 2007.
    I had followed http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925 and delete the apple s/w and re-installed. But according to the previous post, it appears that the issue was in the data - which was not deleted during all these deinstalls nor overridden with the new installs.
    I am a XP user, so my files are in documents and settings/(username) both application data and \local settings\application data, but I also have safari and quicktime installed as well and didn't want to just blow entire high level folders if I didn't have to.
    So I followed http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925 then purged several apple folders in my windows profile and this definitely blew apple computer\preferences away. What I did was a little clumbsy, and desperate, but it worked. I am finally back in business.
    However, I would like to see someone fine tune this and determine if it was just the preferences folder that needed to be deleted so that iTunes needed to rebuild it, or if there were other filoes that were apparently corrupted away, just to get this to the minimum number of steps to fix the issue.
    BUT THANKS - This has been the most HELPFUL thread to get me syncing agai!!!!

  • Acrobat XI PDF Add-ins do not appear in Office 2013

    I just installed Acrobat XI on a computer with Win7 and Office 2013. The program works fine but I have been unable to get the add-ins to appear in the apps. I had previously done  the  same installation on another computer of mine and all works fine. I have spent at least 10 hours trying everything I could find online and in the forums with no success.
    I have unistalled and reinstalled Acrobat. I have done a total repair on Office. The results are always the same.
    In Outlook, the pdf maker is shown as disabled. I click to enable it and then restart. It still does not appear and the pdf add-in is again shown as disabled. I removed the add in and then manually added it back. Same results.
    In other apps (e.g. Word), the pdf maker is shown as enabled but it does not appear on the toolbar. Again, on these apps, I've tried unchecking and checking (restarting in between) with no luck. And have also deleted the add in and then manually put it back in. No success.
    I also repeated all of the above by starting applications as adminstrator thinking that would make a difference. No success.
    I've tried using the registry editor regsrv32 to install the .dll file but I only get errors.
    I suppose there could be some registry entries that need to be deleted, but I don't have a clue which ones or where to look.
    I can't find anything else to try! Any suggestions will be helpful!

    I suspect you have AA 11.0.0. Update the product. OFFICE 2013 came out after AA XI and you need an update for opertion. I understand that AA XI has beeen updated to work with OFFICE 2013. In the meantime, just print to the Adobe PDF printer.

  • How to delete ADD-INS listing in the "Tools menu

    Hi
    I deleted a couple of "ADD-Ins" I didn't need anymore "CalcTax" and "cTax"
    stored in this directory: "C:\Users\John\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\AddIns"
    The mistake I made is that they where active and now I can't delete the two menu listed in the "Tools Menu".
    I tried to redo the Add-Ins but it doesn't work.
    I ran the "Remove Control macro" below but no success.
    I checked the Registry for the two Add-Ins but found nothing.
    Below is one of the two Add-Ins macro but not the original one. I deleted them.
    and "No Backup"
    Does anyone know how I can remove the two entries in the "Tools menu.
    Option Explicit
    Const cTag = "CalcTax "
    Sub Auto_Open()
        RemoveControl
        With Application.CommandBars("Worksheet Menu Bar").Controls("Tools").Controls.Add
            .Caption = "CalcTax"
            .Tag = cTag
            .OnAction = ThisWorkbook.Name & "!CalcTax"
    End With
    End Sub
    Sub Auto_Close()
        RemoveControl
    End Sub
    Private Sub RemoveControl()
    On Error Resume Next
    Application.CommandBars.FindControl(Tag:=cTag).Delete
    End Sub
    Sub start()
    UserForm1.Show 0
    End Sub

    Re:  Menubars/menus xl2003 and earlier
    To remove any item from the menus...
    Right-click in the menubar area and choose Customize (a dialog box is displayed).
    Drag the unwanted menu item off of the menu and drop it over the worksheet.
    Close the dialog box.

  • Office Add-Ins : Langauge mismatch

    Hello
    I installed on Wondows XP
    OBI EE 10.1.3.4.1
    and
    Ms Office 2007 (english)
    After installing and configuring Oracle BI Office
    (like explain in OBE : Using OBI Office Add-Ins with OBI EE ...)
    I tried to insert data in Excell from Oracle BI Catalog
    I received this error message "Langauge mismatch"
    For loging I used English or French language with the same result.
    Have you got an idea ?

    FYI
    The error occurs due to a mismatch between the Regional Settings between the client PC and OBIEE Server.
    I don't know how to change the Regional Setting for OBIEE.
    For this reason I changed the Regional Settings on the windows client machine from the Language French to English (US).
    After restart It works

  • GUI Patch 7 & 8 breaks MS office excel 2010 via add ins on Win 7

    We are experiencing the following problems with SAP GUI 8 (and SAP GUI 7)
    Config of device :
    Windows 7
    MS Office 2010 - excel specifically with 2 add ins for another application
    SAP GUI patch 0
    When the SAP GUI is then patched to 7 or 8 excel crashes with the following error :
    MS Visual Basic for Applications : License information for this components not found. You do not have an appropriate license to use this functionalty in design environment. > select OK and the following error appears -
    MS Visual Basic for Applications : Compile error in hidden module: ThisWorkbook. This error commonly occurs when code is incompatible with the verion, platform or architecture of this application. Click "Help: for information on how to correct this error.
    Excel then stops working. We have managed to disable the add ins and then excel works. Uninstalling the SAP GUI still leaves a broken excel. Any assistance in the resolution of this matter would be greatly appreciated. We have spent more than a week running various scenarios and patched windows and office to the latest patches with no success.
    Regards
    Anette

    Problem still exists after applying patch-10!!!!
    This way we can not use the 720-GUI.
    After installing GUI and latest patch, we still get following error starting Word2003:
    MS Visual Basic for Applications : License information for this components not found. You do not have an appropriate license to use this functionalty in design environment. > select OK and the following error appears -
    And.......
    Microsoft Visual Basic
    ActiveX-component cannot be created.

  • Office Add-Ins using both CLR4/CLR2 Components

    We have an existing Office add-in built on .NET 3.5 (SP1) that we are migrating to .NET 4.5.2 that will also support Office (64-bit).  We use a WinForms component from TX Text Control that is built on CLR2.  Their control should and does work on
    .NET 4.x applications but when we use it in the Office context, we were getting error.
    When we added the following to the winword.exe.config and outlook.exe.config (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15), the add-in worked OK.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    <configuration>
    <startup useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy="true">
    <supportedRuntime version="v4.0" />
    </startup>
    </configuration>
    My concern/questions are:
    Should we adding or modifying this file (*.exe.config) in the Microsoft Office directory?  Is this something that third-parties are expected to do?
    Is there a way to modify this file (*.exe.config) that does not affect other applications?
    Do we need to be worried about conflicts with other add-ons from other companies that users could be using?
    Is there a way to scope the useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy="true" tag to just our add-on or just one component?Why do we have this issue if we are compiling everything to CLR4 even though we are using a CLR2 component that works under CLR4?
    Thanks
    Scott

    Hello Scott,
    There is no need to post your message on
    multiple forums.
    There are two ways to go:
    1. Edit the Office application *.exe.config file. This is a workaround if you can't or don't want to rebuild controls/components against a new CLR version.
    2. Rebuild controls against the new CLR version - 4.0.
    As you understand it is better to choose #2 way.
    Here is the answers:
    > Should we adding or modifying this file (*.exe.config) in the Microsoft Office directory?  Is this something
    that third-parties are expected to do?
    Nope. You can edit it programmatically. But typically you shouldn't do so because it
    affects other add-ins as well.
    > Is
    there a way to modify this file (*.exe.config) that does not affect other applications?
    Nope, because you develop an add-in, not a standalone application. All add-ins will be affected.
    > Do we need to be worried about conflicts with other add-ons from other companies
    that users could be using?
    Nobody can be sure that other add-ins are well-writer doesn't
    contains bugs :)
    > Is

    No, there is no way because add-ins are not standalone applications.
