Every time I try to upload a video to youtube (or pictures to blog services like tumblr) using Firefox, I cannot upload them unless I use the "basic uploader" function. Why and what can be done?
Every time I try to upload a video to youtube or a pictures to a blog service, such as tumblr, I am unable to do so with the default uploading options (usually something that allows multiple uploads, etc). Instead, I can upload these media using their "basic upload" functions. Why and what can be done?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

If you went to m.youtube.com did you switch to "Desktop" mode at some point? If so, switch back to "Mobile version" (at bottom of page). -
ok so we bought an ipod touch for my daughter and when she connected it to the computer after she downloaded itunes, she was asked if it was her ipod or a new one, so she clicked on her ipod and lost all her recent pics plus is unable to locate the app store on her safari on her ipod touch. any suggestions as to what went wrong or what should be done ? should we restore or what?
much appreciated if there is anyone else who had this happen to them.- The iPod got erased since it sounds iTunes identified that the iPod has been synced with another computer and she said yes to making this computer her syncing computer. It could also she restored the iPod from the backup of another iPod, iPhone or iPad that was in iTunes. If in iTunes you go to Preferences>Devices is there a backup listed for her iPod with a date/time when she first connected the iPod to the computer. If so then restore the iPod from that backup.

Early 2013 13" MacBook Pro runs slow and uses a lot of RAM, why and what can be done?
Problem description:
My computer is using a lot of RAM. Wondering if there’s a hardware issue, or a software issue, or something else. I currently have no programs open in the Doc, besides EntreCheck. and the RAM is showing about 75% used. I’m looking for suggestions on what I can do to speed it up and make it more functional, and efficient for doing design work. I recently upgraded from the original 4GB RAM (2x2GB), and from the original HD to a 512 GB SSD drive, and upgraded to Yosemite. Perhaps that was too much for this machine? Please help with anything that I can do to make it better! Thanks in advance!
I have a recent back-up, I'm open to saving user files and starting from scratch with the current hardware, etc... but would need some direction on how to do this. I did upgrade myself using Apple provided instructions.

When I hit reply, to respond to an email, the recipient's address box is blank, as is the subject box and the message box, which won't even accept the cursor. The whole window freezes up and I have to get out of Firefox to be able to do anything at all.
Because it isn't compatible with my computer's OS ... (mac 10.4)

When I read an email and then hit "delete" key, I lose next email also. It's deleting 2 at a time instead of just the active one.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I have downloaded the new iTunes 10.7 on my computer with windows vista on it. Now every time I try to run a video it shuts off iTunes. Is anyone else having this problem? I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program twice. Is there a fix? Is it possible I am missing part of the program?

The Silverlight plugin crashes every time i try to watch a video at the Universal Sports website. I have uninstalled this plugin and re-enstalled it many times with no success
It doesn't matter what I do I still get the plugin to crash. I've removed every trace of Internet Explorer in the registry. Download fresh versions of Mozilla and Silverlight. I uninstalled both of them and cleaned any lingering files. Reinstalled Mozilla, and Silverlight. Same error. No more movies for me. :>/ See entry below.

try visiting this Adobe page — does it show that some version of Flash is currently installed on your MacBook Pro, or does just a grey box show? If it’s the latter, then you’ll need to install Flash; instructions to do so can be found further down on that same page. -

Every time I try to play Amazon video on iPad, it shows "our Internet connection is currently using an HTTP proxy, content playbacks not supported when a proxy is configured". Though I can play it on iPhone which has same Internet connection.

I've downloaded quicktime but every time I try to play a video on the apple website using internet explorer it asks me to download quicktime again yet if I'm safari it plays fine. Any suggestions?
That sounds like IE wants you to install the QuickTime ActiveX control.
Go back to the page you're getting the message on. At the bottom of the screen, can you see a long rectangular box asking you to allow/install something? (Sorry, it's been a while since I've seen the box in question, so I can't recall the precise wording.)
If so, allow/OK in that box. After the ActiveX control has gone in, can you see the videos in IE? -

Settings > iTunes and App store > Apple ID = Sign Out... Then Sign In using the preferred Apple ID.
It should be Noted that anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID. -

What can be done to eliminate it?Open the Time Machine pane in System Preferences. If it shows that Time Machine is ON, click the padlock icon in the lower left corner, if necessary, to unlock it. Scroll to the bottom of the list of backup drives and click Add or Remove Backup Disk. Remove all the disks, then add them back. Quit System Preferences. Test.
