it's about transparency of the floating flash.

Recently updated to Ver 3.6.16. Now have ads appearing at top of pages in tabs & taking over tabs. How do I get rid of them???

Down Level Stage disables other JQuery page elements

I have create a small Edge Animate animation that I'm trying to add to our home page. After getting everything running and working properly in IE9+, Chrome, Firefox and Safari I moved it from the development environment to our live site. Then I viewed it on an older machine running IE8 and the down level stage worked great, but it disabled a jquery image slider and a little custom jquery script I wrote to polite load an embedded youtube video. The only cusomization I did to the edge files was to remove the loader for the included version of JQuery so that it would run the on I call from Google instead. This prevent intial conflicts between already existing jquery elements on the page.
If anyone can help me figure out how to prevent this problem with the down level stage I'd appreciate it.

I understand what you're saying. I actually had to disable the loader that loads jquery in the edgePreload.js in favor of calling the same version from the google developer library. So that shouldn't effect it. I'm just wondering if there isn't something in the edgePreload.js that causes an overall shut down of any running JQuery.
To answer your question everything does work fine without animate content. It is only a probelm after in including animate content. I can't really send you all the files since it's work related, but aside from deleting the line that loads the JQuery in the edgePreload.js it's the same as the default. The slider we use is woothemes Flexslider in a standard implementation.

Can you code a link between html and a particular flash page?

I hope this question is not too confusing. I am designing a website in flash CS3 using Action script 2.0 not 3.0 and Flash Player 8. The architecture I used is as follows: I have a menu/main page which loads the swf files of other flash pages. I have a particular flash chatroom page which is loaded by the main page that I would like to be able to link an web address (example ... www.chatroom.com) directly too that particular sub flash page ... rather than going to the main.swf which is what the original web address uses. (I hope your following me).
Technically I know I could link a web address to the chatroom.swf file, but then it would estetically look incomplete since the theme/design of the website is in the main.swf which calls the chatroom.swf.
Thus my question is: is there a way to assign the web address to the chatroom.swf inside the main.swf. I would like to go directly to the chatroom without clicking chatroom on the main.swf menu. I do not know enough Actionscript 2.0 to know if this is possible. I did try to search for the answer but could not find it. If it is possible what script would I need? If it is not possible, any other ideas to get the same effect?

I just wanted to clarify how the main page links to the subsequest pages when I said it loads the swf file. The links in the actual menu code are fla files.

Then I must publish the files to make swf files for each page which will be loaded into the main menu.

Any easy way to remove floating ads after they appear (i.e., not preventing them)?

Generally ads on web pages don't bother me. So I don't feel strongly to use ad-blocking software to prevent any or all kinds of ads. But I do mind ads that float on web pages because they often block the view.
Although some floating ads allow the user to close them, more pop-ups, or other types of nuisance, may appear after they are closed.
So, Is there any easy way (an add-on, perhaps) to remove the floating ads after they appear, and prevent them from generating more ads or showing themselves again when the page is reloaded?
Maybe something like "CTRL + Alt + left click" applied on the floating ads?
I don't want to disable scripts and Flash.

Spry navbar position with other page elements.

2 questions on positioning a horizontal navbar with other page elements.
1.) I replaced a standard horizontal navbar with a spry horizontal bar.
Below the navbar is a simple image div- centering an image on the page.
The image is placed with auto margins r/l to stay centered.
After I replaced the standard navbar with the Spry navbar, the centered image now appears to the right.
What I want is the original design- the Spry navbar to be positioned above the image, drop down menu items can appear over the centered image.
My edited Spry page is not live until it works correctly- the original page without the new menu bar is here- michael-davidson.com)
2.) My plan is to keep the navbar on all my pages- so I'll set it up in a template.
Many of my pages wil consist of simpleviewer galleries- like this; simpleviewer gallery- will it work to put a drop down above the gallery?
Will there be a problem having the Spry navbar drop down over the simpleviewer gallery?

I may have missed it, but I didn't see any style rule that positions your div#navbar. I may be wrong, but it seems to me that if you don't style the div, it will sit on the left of your page.
When you put Spry Menubars above Flash elements, Flash will as a rule put itself in front of other elements.
Try changing this:

I agree. I don't rely on iCloud as a backup, that is what I have my portable hard drive for. Its 500 GB so I can hold my entire iTunes library several times over on it. I have all my movies on my hard drive, but somehow "The Mist" got deleted off of my hard drive, so I figured "Well, the option to redownload an already purchased movie is available through iCloud, I'll just do that!"
And permissions and download availability have nothing to do with it, the movie's still there, it still allows me to redownload it. The only problem is when I click download, I get that message.
And nobody else uses my computer, but I do have multiple accounts authorized on it. Even still though, I am attepmpting to download it through the account I purchased it under. :/

From what I can see, unless you're doing things with old versions of Xcode on a Mac (in which case, the solution seems to be to upgrade to the latest version), this seems to e an iTunes issue.
Accepting that it works fine with another iPad, I suggest trying the following:
1. Restart the non-working iPad
2. If that doesn't work, reinstall iTunes. If you're on a Windows PC, I suggest using Control Panel to uninstall all the Apple apps, restarting the PC, and doing a fresh install. If you're using a Mac, a repair permissions might help too.
iTunes 10.3 is now available, and that may make a difference.

Creating Links for other Web pages within Flash C23

Hello Everyone,
First of all, I'm sure you're tired of answering the
questions regarding "Links". Although, I'm having a very
difficult time with this issue. I just purchased Flash C23,
taken all the tutorials from www.lynda.com, but
I do not find answers for linking one web page to another
within Flash C23. I have read all the answers
on this forum and still can not get my buttons to link up to
my other web pages.
I have figured out how to create the buttons, although, I'm
not doing something right when I try to link up my web
pages. You have to realize I'm coming from Adobe Golive (no
need for codes or scripts). I do not want to stop
using Flash... Can someone help?

How do I incorporate video that EVERYONE can see? Quicktime redirect to Flash page???

I created a website for my video production company using Dreamweaver 8 (http://www.playroomcreative.com/production.html). I have average web design knowledge.
The sample videos of my work are all MP4 (H.264/AAC) which is compatible with Quicktime and Flash, however I am using JW Flash Player on my website because most people have Flash installed on their computers. I even have a message that prompts people to download the newest version of Flash when the video doesn’t appear.
My question is; what do I do about people that use iphones and ipads that can’t run Flash?
I would assume that I should change the way I have it now and put a Quicktime video embedded page FIRST, then use the “Check Plugin” Dreamweaver behavior to detect if they don’t have Quicktime and redirect them to the Flash video page. Then, if they don’t have the proper version of Flash they will be prompted to upgrade.
If I did it the opposite way (Flash page first that redirects to a Quicktime page when no Flash plugin is found) than the Flash page would never have a chance to offer it’s upgrade prompt if the user doesn’t have the proper version Flash.
Am I approaching this the right way?
Is there a better way (besides the use of YouTube or Vimeo type video hosting sites)?

Master Page elements not showing up on top...

I'm newer to ID and the industry in general...with no prior experience. Running CS6 on Windows 8.1. I have existing documents that were shared with me where the master page elements always appear on top, meaning on top of pages or items placed in a document. Those items are surrounded by a red dotted line, and I cannot edit those in any way, shape or form. I am working in a new document and all my master page elements have a blue dotted line and do not show up on top of anything no matter what I do and the option to Arrange isn't there. I know I must be missing a really simple step, but in all of the videos and tutorials I've read and watched, this has never been addressed. What am I missing? See images below (added the green box to show an item on the page showing up on top of the master page stuff.) Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

The color is derived from the color code for the layer. You’ll need to go to the master page to edit the items.

Flash Player Version Shown Below Every Flash Object

Is there some reason that the Flash Player version is shown below every Flash object on every website page that it appears? This didn't happen in older versions. There are times when it obscures content on a site. Is there a way to diable it?
