FM Transmitter question

I have the DLO fm transmitter for my car. I took one back because of problems not powering up. Now my second one is doing it also. Does the nike plus program on the nano intefere with the fm transmitter? Anybody else having problems with an fm transmitter?

I don't see how it would.

  • IPod Charger/FM transmitter question

I have a question about the iPod Charger/FM tansmitter all-in-one devices that are made by companies like Griffin and Monster
Do these all-in-one devices ruin the battery on your iPod by charging the iPod while you are using it? Will the battery cycle fail to work as it should if you are constantly charging you iPod when using it in the car?
i was wondering if I should get the new Griffin iTrip Auto or get a FM transmitter (like the Griffin iTrip dock connector) and a charger (like thePowerJolt).
Thoughts, opinions... If this is a topic that has been posted a lot I am sorry. Thanks!
Here's links to some all-in-one devices
    Griffin Link: http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/itripauto/
    Monster Link: http://www.monstercable.com/MP3/productPageMP3.asp?pin=2660&LastPage=Monster%20i Pod%20-%20For%20the%20Home

It is fine to have it charging while using or just being connected charged.
Just make sure to run the battery all the way down and charge it up without use once a month.

  • 5th gen ipod and iplay monster transmitter question...

I have the 5th gen. ipod and i just bought the iplay ipod transmitter, so that i can play my ipod through the fm radio station in my car...but when i plugged it in my ipod and followewd instructions..nothing happened..i even took it back and traded another 1 and it still wont work...is it my ipod or is the iplay transmitter just not compatible with the ipod/video? please help..im getting very frustrated with apple..they put out the new ipod with no accessory`s to match, what a bummer!!

I think I have the same cable that you are talking about and it works just fine for my 4th and 5th gen ipods. All I had to do was plug it into the cig lighter and then select a clear channel for me it was 89.1 and matched it with the push button on the Iplay.
Just to make sure we are talking about the same cable this is the one I have

  • Three Questions Re: Monster iCarPlay FM Transmitter

    1. Is it worth the price? Its twice the cost of the Belkin TuneCast. Is the sound quality that much better?
    2. Whats the difference between the iCarPlay and the iCarPlay Plus?
    3. Is price wasnt an issue, what would be the FM transmitter of choice?
    Thanks!!

to be fair, i don't have either unit, but... i've read a number of really strong reviews of the kensington digital FM transmitter. like the monster, it plugs into the cigarette lighter, so you're not using battery power. (this is either a plus or a minus, depending on whether you ever want to transmit away from your vehicle.) but after quite a lot of research, it appears that the kensington is almost universally hailed for the quality of transmission. i've been an itrip user for years, and have tried to keep up with the latest advancements, and i've never seen an FM transmitter get such uniformly high ratings for sound quality, so i'm thinking it has to be really good. you might want to look into it. retails for about $75, but you can find it online for more like 50.

  • Question about the USB bluetooth transmitter

    Hey,
Is it possible to have the Inspire S2 Wireless speakers connected to a tv (for example my 6700 led tv from samsung). It has no bluetooth support but it has usb ports. So i was wondering can i put the usb transmitter in the tv, since the usb transmitter says: "no drivers to install".
    Will that work?
    Thanks in advance.
    -Tom

    Hello Tomdazz,
The USB bluetooth transmitter does not wok with your TV. The USB port on the TV does not have this functionality. Computer ports can usually do this because a device driver will be loaded by the computer which gives the USB port on the TV this functionality. You can also check your TV's manual for more info about the functions of the TV's ports. If I'm not wrong, TV only support Media Play. Media Play only supports USB Mass Storage Class devices (MSC). Examples are your thumb dri'ves, card readers and USB HDD.

  • Question in usrp transmitter example

    In the usrp transmitter example:
what is the exact packet structure?
what is the padding samples? and how it differs from padding bits? and what is the fuction of the padding bits?
what is the function of the blank frame
    thanks in advance

The packet is structured as follows, in bits:
The packets are padded because the transmitter and receiver are not sharing any timing information, which means data could potentially be lost.  By adding padding samples, we are able to ensure that when the packet is received, none of the data will be lost at the front and back of the transmitted frame.  Take a look at this thread, which discusses this in more depth.
If you take a look at the block diagram of the USRP Packet Transmitter VI, you'll see a case structure that determines when to send packets to the receiver.  If the case structure reads the queue of samples to be sent as empty, it will instead send a blank frame matching the size specified in the above snippet.  The blank frame is used as an empty packet to ensure the connection is not lost.  If we were to simply not send any packet, then the receiver might assume that the connection was lost when instead we are simply not sending anything.  By sending an empty packet, the receiver knows the connection is still active, and can wait for a packet of actual data.

  • IPod FM Transmitter accessory question

    hey everyone.
So I recently got my 4th gen ipod replaced with a new 5th gen and as such I need to get a new iTrip style device. With the old one I used to use my iPod at work to transmit to a portable boombox and had my power adapter there to keep it plugged in to power all the time. I was looking at the new iTrip that connects to the dock connector and was wondering if it has a connection on the bottom? Like if I use this new iTrip can I still have my iPod plugged in to a power adapter so that the iPod/iTrip combo works through my whole day of work?
I also looked at the Road Trip. I understand with it you can unplug the FM transmitter portion and use it with your computer, but when detached can it also work with the iPod? And can I connect power to my iPod while using this transmitter outside of the car?
Thanks in advance for any help.
    -Andrew

  • IPod Volvo FM Transmitter - Have question. Please help

    Good evening.
My wife and I are looking to get the Volvo specific FM Transmitter installed in our S40 Volvo.
I have a 5th Gen Video iPod and was wondering if any knew for sure that this would work. I also plan on picking my wife up her own iPod.
Does anyone have one of these installed? Or know if it will work. Haven't had any luck on the Volvo forums getting an answer, so thought I'd try here.
    Thanks for the help.

Well it should work I don't see why Volvo will sell you something that doesn't work.

  • Question about SUM in SQL query

I have a SQL ststement which is listed below along with it's output.
For the NUM_REQ column, I am expecting to get the number 832 because the pm_requirements_table contains 16 records and they all have a frequency of WEEKLY.
    16 * 52 = 832. The query returns 12480 which I can see that it is multiplying the 832 by 15 which is the number of entries in the lpm table 16 * 52 * 15 = 12480.
I need the lpm table in there for other reasons, so my question is how can I get it to return 832 and still have the lpm table as part of the query.
    Thanks,
    George

  • Newbie question: What accesories do I need ...

    Hi there,
I'm in a phase of buying the iPod Color (60GB) and want to use it as follows:
    - Connect it to my PC to synchronize (via iTunes/Photoshop Elements 3.0) with various kinds of sources (music, photos, podcasts, music store) & recharge (preferably using a dock)
    - Connect it to my Audio/TV equipment for slideshows and/or listening & charging
    - Connect it to my car audio
    - At times (vacation) be able to use (part of the) disk as a backup device for my digital camera (Canon G5) whilst on the road.
    My questions:
    - Am I asking too much?
    - If not what exactly do I need to buy next to the iPod color bundle itself to realize the functionality listed above without having to carry around with all sorts of cables and docks between PC/Car/TV-Audio? (I want a comfortable solution in which the iPod is the only "mobile" part)
I know this sounds pretty trivial but I find it pretty confusing to compose the correct bundle on the iStore (Netherlands) which led me to put forward this question in this forum.
    Hoping for some good advise.
    Thanks in advance

    Thanks for your reply.
I definitely need a case based on the feedback I got. Seems the iPods case is easy to be scratched. (BTW: Any recommendations?)
Furthermore I have the following list:
    - Seems I need 2 docks, one for the PC and one for the TV/Audio.
    - Next to this I need an additional AV-cable and Monster Audio Cable to connect one of the docks to the Audio/TV
    - I need a power supply + cable (which one?) to be able to charge the iPod whilst on the "Audio/TV-dock?.
    - I need an FM transmitter (which one do you advise?) for in-car usage (I don't have a cassette player anymore so the cassette-adapter is no option). Any experience on the quality, is it better than normal broadcasts?
    - I need an iPod camera connector so I can connect it with my camera via an USB cable.
    Guess that's about it, right?
@arrowsparrow: The dutch translation is readable though not really correct. I get the idea but it is a bit too literal. If I didn't have the English text for reference it would be hard to understand parts of it. I think you can do a better job yourself once you took the dutch-course :>)
I just took a vacation (west coast of France)a few weeks ago so I won't be going again in short time.

  • Need speakers for my Macbook: questions I've not seen an answer for

Earlier this year I reluctantly upgraded from my old Luxo Jr. style iMac with the nice 17" screen and the really good sound to a 2008 black Macbook. While I needed the OS update, the smaller screen and miserable sound are a giant step backwards, and need a cure. I think I've found a monitor I can love (Samsung 2223SW) but the speaker issue has me boggled. I've now read so much I'm thoroughly confused.
Does my old iMac sound so good solely due to the speakers, or is there something in the iMac itself contributing to the sound?
Am I stuck with miserable tinny sound due to some limitation of the Macbook, or is there hope?
The goal: good sound and no wires on my desktop (I'm fed up with looking like an electronics store run amok, and so far have banished the modem and external drive to the basement courtesy of an Airport Extreme)
In an ideal world I'd find a pair of wireless speakers (either wifi or bluetooth) that sound as good as my old iMac speakers. I've searched with no luck... are there any?
The next best thing seems to be using an Airport Express (I realize I cannot use my existing Extreme for speakers) but I'm not sure I'm clear on how that would work. I'd have to have it plugged in the room I want to use the speakers in, and then plug the speakers into the Express? I'm still stuck with wires but at least they're not snaking across the desktop that way.
The Macbook would send the sound to the Express and in turn through the speakers? Is that how it works?
And I have to use Airfoil if I want to have all my sound - not just iTunes - channeled that way?
Does it matter if my iTunes library is on an external hard drive and not on the internal Macbook drive?
Anything else I need to know? I don't have a traditional stereo for the Express to stream to (which I see mentioned a lot), is that a problem? I just need speakers. I also don't need to stream to multiple rooms or Macs... just cure the sound on the Macbook.
Could the old iMac speakers be plugged into the Express?
Or do I need to get new ones such as the Creative Inspire T12 that are in the Apple Store? I've noticed those and some others say they come with a power supply... does that mean they need electricity (bleah... more wires!) ? I guess that would beat batteries, but I'm used to speakers that plug into whatever they're hooked to and nothing else , so the reference to "power supply" may be confusing me. Do you really have to plug in speakers to an outlet?
A lot of questions, I know! I've read the "Good To Know About Speakers" page in the Apple Store, searched threads here and Googled, and only seemed to wind up with more questions. :P

Thanks Doc.... that does clear a few things up. I can't find wi-fi speakers to check prices though. My search returns seem to be mostly links to pages where people are asking where to find them (lol!), those crazy-price Phillipe Somebodyorother designer speakers, or some called Oyster from Avega that seem to be vaporware
I did find wireless speakers on Amazon, but they're not what I think of as wi-fi (using the Macbook's already-installed Airport) since you have to plug a transmitter into the computer (which makes it Yet Another Device To Be Unplugged when moving a laptop around).
It's beginning to sound like the Express + speakers is the best route, since that at least gets the wires off the desktop and not directly attached to the Macbook. I'm not sure what the plug on the iMac speakers is called. It would be nice if they worked since they don't require being plugged into the wall.

  • Wich one of these or any FM Transmitter's work with a NANO?

I am looking for a good FM Transmitter and i saw this Monster iCarPlay Wireless FM Transmitter for Apple iPod with Dock Connection at Best Buy and i was woundering if it will work with a NANO, this transmitter is Ipod Mini compatible.
If not then there's also the iCarPlay without the Dock Connection, then there's also a Griffin iTrip mini FM Transmitter for Apple iPod mini and Belkin TuneBase FM Transmitter for Apple® iPod mini.
So which one of these would you reccomend and are they even compatible with the NANO?
If they are compatible then i would like one from the 3 i have listed above since i can get a really good price on them at my work.
    Thanks in advance.

Whoa, nelly! Hold up. The iTrip will NOT work. If the transmitter uses the remote port then it will not work with the nano. The nano does not have this port. The iTrip uses this port - it's how the iTrip gets power.
The other transmitters do not use this port. They should work. If you have questions and want a definitive answer email the companies. In my experience the people at Griffin are REALLY nice and sort of amusing. I don't know about monster or belkin but I'd bet they'll answer your questions, too.
I'm waiting for griffin to make an FM transmitter for the nano, too.
The monster one looks like it will work.

  • Ipod Nano FM Transmitter adaptor - which one?

I recently bought an Ipod nano for my girlfriend and would like to by an FM transmitter to operate it through my car stereo. My question is, which type of transmitter is compatible with a Nano? I know Griffin technologies makes a couple of different types of transmitters for Ipods but I don't know if they fit a Nano or not. Can anyone help?

I can second the Monster CarFM transmitter. We have one for each car. We got the version that lets you program in any frequency because we live in a radio-dirty area.
While Griffin has many nifty version of the iTrip, I would recommend using a transmitter with a dock connector that also charges the iPod at the same time. I had an iTrip for my 40 GB iPod, but it had a couple of issues: 1) changing frequency was a pain, 2) signal strength would fade over time unless the iPod was also connected to a charger.
Another issue is that when I switched from using my 40 GB iPod to using the nano in the car, the iTrip wouldn't work for me. That's why I recommend using a transmitter with a dock connector. It is more likely to be compatible with any future iPod you may get.
