This issue can be caused by the Babylon Toolbar 1.1.8 extension

When opening any page associated with Google (main search page, gmail, google maps, etc) the font is so tiny it is unreadable. Any other website is fine and this only happens with Mozilla. I just downloaded 3.6.12 and it's still a problem.

To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step.

Picasa Web albums: doesn't display all uploaded photos. This only happens on my desktop computer. All photos displayed on my laptop.

Not all of my uploaded photos display in my Picasa web album. All the photos upload, but 17 out of 90 photos don't display. Some are landscape, some are portrait. I cannot open my mail in hotmail. I cleared my cache and cookies, I reinstalled firefox, I tried disabling all add-ons and plug ins...nothing works. I don't understand, yesterday it worked just fine. Any help?

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

After 3.6.10 all add-ons disappeared and a search for updates showed none needed. How do I get them back?

I am running on a Mac OSX 10.6.4. After updating Firefox to 3.6.10, a few add-on disappeared. Specifically, Delicious, 1Password, Stumble ON and Buckts. I looked for updates and none were available. I've run through the view menu and preferences but can't find an option to restore these functions. Do all these add-ons need to be updated to be compatible with 3.6.10 or is there something in the update that wiped out these views.

Add-ons that worked in 3.6.9 and earlier versions of 3.6 should also work in 3.6.10.
The first thing I would try is to delete the files that store details of installed add-ons. If one of those files is corrupt it can cause problems with add-ons not being listed. V 17 & 18 use minimum of 30% cpu (even with all add-ons disable and safe mode) on MacBook 10.7

I have been having problems since release 17 (at least) with Firefox sucking up CPU. I have 4GB ram and often have multiple programs open, including Firefox with between 5 and 15 tabs / windows. Decreasing the number of open tabs / windows will decrease CPU usage by 2% for each tab / window closed until it hits 30%, then no more improvement. Oddly enough it drops to a constant 25% when Firefox is NOT in safe mode and all my plugins are enabled. But not below.
Help. I love firefox, but it is becoming more and more problematic.

I am unable to download any type of video. All types of downloader cause my computer to become un-responsive & freeze. This only happens on Firefox. Internet explorer has no problems. Can someone help?

Can you undo the system restore?
Note that using System Restore can cause your Firefox installation to get corrupted because not all files are restored (only files in a white-list), so be cautious with using System Restore.
*You may lose data in the Firefox profile folder like .js and .ini files pr profiles.ini can be affected.
*You may need to (re)install software that was affected.
In case you need to reinstall Firefox then you need to delete the Firefox program folder before reinstalling to make sure that all files get replaced.
A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

When I close Firefox, it leaves an open instance each time in Processes. This eats up memory. I've disabled all add-ons, and it still does it.

Over the course of the day, I can have 15-20 instances running in the background and they can range from as low as 3K in memory to upwards of 500000K. This makes my computer super laggy, and I have to go in and manually shut down each one. I've disabled every single add-on and plug in, and tried uninstalling and re-installing Firefox to no avail. I'm at the point where if I can't get this fixed, I'll just have to switch to another browser because this is a huge time suck. If you have any ideas, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Use "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit) to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the Firefox title bar.
If you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" then try to disable this feature.

I had this problem as well. I found that somehow the firefox.exe file had been set to run in compatibility mode for Windows 95.
To check this on your system Browse to the firefox folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) and right click on the file "firefox.exe".
Select "Properties" and then the "Compatibility" tab. Make sure the option "Run this program in compatibility mode for" is UNCHECKED.
Then try running Firefox as normal. Worked for me.
