Having problem with importing images to a java applet in web broswer

I'm creating a mini 2d game just for fun and I am running it as a applet with the JApplet class.
This is my html file.
<html>
<body>
<applet code=ambiDexApplet.class name=ambiDexApplett archive=ambiDexApplet.jar
     width=640 height=480>
     <param name="Player" value="Player.class">
     <param name="Actor" value="Actor.class">
     <param name="Tail_Bead" value="Tail_Bead.class">
     <param name="Block" value="Block.class">
     <param name="Morphable" value="Morphable.class">
     <param name="Item" value="Item.class">
     <param name="GameObject" value="GameObject.class">
     <param name="leftImg" value="Player_Left3.gif">
     <param name="rightImg" value="Player_Right3.gif">
     <param name="img1" value="bgImgFinal.jpg">
     <param name="img2" value="Block_Tower2.gif">
</applet>
</body>
</html>However every time i try to run the program i get the following error when i open the java console.
java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.io.FilePermission Images\Player_Left3.gif read)
at java.security.AccessControlContext.checkPermission(Unknown Source)
at java.security.AccessController.checkPermission(Unknown Source)
Obviously, the applet is not letting me read the image files. By the way, the .class files and the image files are all in same directory. So can anyone help me please?

Unfortunately, yes--I've tried it that way over and over, and every other way I could think of.  The files are all in one folder, and I've converted the raw files to both tiffs and jpegs.  I even tried converting them to jpegs at the final pixel dimensions.  Each folder that I have used only contains one type of file, and they are all part of the same sequence and sequentially numbered.  I have even tried renumbering the files with numbers first, numbers last, numbers only, moving underscores.  I moved the files from my external hard-drive to the desktop ... I have a lot less hair than I had only a few days ago!
I've looked at a few other tutorials that outline the same sequence of steps, and tried them over and over, and then changing one step at a time to make sure that it was not a single step that caused the problem.
The thing that is really bugging me is that it works fine if I use the different approach of using the place command instead.
Anyway, thanks for all of your time.  It's going to be a lot simpler to just stick with 'place' command and I will likely do that, but I tend take things like this as a challenge.  I like to know WHY it won't work for me.  Sometimes it seems that there is just no logical explanation!

  • Problem with importing images into time lapse

    Hi
    I am having problems with importing still images into a time lapse sequence in photoshop and would appreciate any suggestions!
    I want to create a time lapse using a sequence of still photographs.  All file names are sequentially name/numbered.
    I am using the Motion workspace, and have followed all of the instructions available.
    Create correct sized new document (film & video).
    Create video timeline.
    Set frame rate.
    Choose 'create new video layer from file'.
    Point to first image in the folder where the images are stored.
    At this point, no matter what I have tried, I receive this error:
    I have tried different sized new documents; tried jpegs and tiffs; tried different frame rates, tried different qualities and sizes of images; tried selecting the last image instead of the first (one recommendation).
    If I use the 'Place' command from the file menu (and check the 'image sequence' box) instead of selecting 'Create new video layer' from the layers panel, it loads fine and I can still render the video.
    It took me most of a day to discover this workaround, but every other reasonable 'how-to' that I can find says that I should be able to do it by opening files into a new video layer and it seems as though the new video layer option may give me more alternatives.
    Anyone have any idea why I could be having these problems?
    I have reset Photoshop, deleted the settings file, even reinstalled it.  I use 64-bit on windows 7 and even installed the 32-bit to try that, but all with the same result.

    The camera has the latest software.

    I've now tested in various ways.
    First, I have images on both memory cards in the camera.

  • Aperture 3.0.1 Problem with Importing Images

    The problem I am experiencing with Aperture 3 is that often when I am trying to import images to a project, the images "do not show up" in the import window. In other words, Aperture doesn't "see" the images I am trying to import.
    Here's what I mean, I might have photos on a CF card or on a hard drive which I would be trying to add/import into a project. Sometimes but not all the time, when I select the folder or location where the files are that I am trying to import, no files show up! These are just regular JPEG files. I know they are there because if I look with OS X's Finder, the images are all there. As well, sometimes if I quit Aperture and restart it all over again, the images that I want to import now show up in the import window.
    This problem doesn't change either whether I click on the "do not import duplicate" box or not. Although as a side note, this "do not import duplicate" function doesn't seem to be reliable either.
    Does anyone have any suggestions regarding what I can do to fix this? Can I "reinstall" Aperture? How do I do this? Is this something I can fix by rebuilding the library?

    I didn't even realize that I too had this issue until I came upon this thread. I went into my Import window, selected my hard drive and only the folder structure would show - no images corresponding to those within the folders would appear in the window above.
    Odd, though, all I did was uncheck the 'Do not import duplicates' box and suddenly the images now appear, and continue to appear after a relaunch of Aperture. I've since rechecked the duplicates box but the images still appear.
    I don't know if it's related to the initial toggling of the duplicates button or not. Nor do I know if the problem will appear sometime later, but I do know it was/is an issue.

  • Problem with importing images shifting text

    Hi,
    I custom designed a heading and menu on a blank page, and then I added images for a slide show (hyperlinked each one with next previous). My logo or heading is in the exact same place but when you go from one page to the next it giggles/or looks like it's shifting (this looks horrible when you are going through the images). The images are PNG and not very big in size (approx. 380 pixels by 580 at 72 DPI). The text shifting problem does not happen if the images are shrunk or kept at a really small size. I've tried everything I can think of and it def. has to do with the images being a certain size, but it does not make sense as I should be able to work with images that are this size -- they are not even very big to begin with! Any help would be so greatly appreciated. THanks!
    Best,
    Corinne

    you appear to be a mac genius
    Thanks for the compliment but mostly I just regurgitate what I've learned here. Regarding the image size I don't think you need to do anything. The only set of photos that are jpgs and can be downloaded are those in the Mollen and Drew section. The rest of them are java based and cannot be downloaded, only obtained via a screen capture. I don't know what you did differently for Mollen and Drew's page but it is different from all the others in that first gallery. However, the other pages can take the view to the overall gallery were the links to Blank # are visible. The few pages I visited of those, Blank 34 and 41 had jpgs for the large view that could be downloaded. Is that what you want? If so you might consider putting a watermark on the photos. This example was done with Photoshop but there are 3rd party applications that can automate the process, putting any text or icon on the photo in the location of your choice. iWatermark is just one of several. You can find them at VersonTracker.com.
    The current iWeb converts the photos to 800 x 600 and uses java for the slideshow and gallery. This makes it more difficult to download a photo. A viewer would have to make a screenshot of it in order to get a copy.
    Of the five one your gallery page only Mollen and Drew are of the type of page that has jpgs as the larger image. How was that page created as opposed to the one for Georgeen and Tobias. They are two different types of photo/slideshow pages.

  • Having problems with importing a class

    I'm getting this error:
    Main.java:14: Class Queue not found in import.
    import Queue;
    ^
    1 error
    The two files are Queue.java and Main.java. Queue.java compiles fine. I get this error when i try to compile Main.java. I have no idea why it is doing it. This is Queue.java:
    import java.io.*;
    public class Queue{
    private int MAX=0;
    private String[] projectlist;
    // Constructors
         public Queue() {
              projectlist = new String[MAX];
         public Queue (int size) {
              MAX = size;
              projectlist = new String[MAX];
         public void Print() {
              System.out.println(MAX + "\n");
    And this is Main.java:
    import java.io.*;
    import Queue;
    public class Main {
    public static void main(String[] args)     {
         Queue high = new Queue(2);
         Queue highwait = new Queue();
         Queue medium = new Queue(5);
         Queue low = new Queue(8);
         Queue lowwait = new Queue();
         high.Print();
         highwait.Print();
         medium.Print();
         low.Print();
         lowwait.Print();
    I sent the files to a friend, and he got the same error, so is it something to do with the actual file? Any help would be greatly appreciated, because if I can't get this working, I gotta do the project in C++, which i don't want to do :)This is on Linux, BTW. Thanks!

    Ok lets go through this step by step.
    First, somewhere in your path you have a directory called 'queue' and in it is a java file 'Queue.java'. On my computer, I have this directory in
    '/home/joshua/development/java/test'. From the directory 'queue' the command
    $javac Queue.java
    should compile.
    Does that compile?
    In '/home/joshua/development/java/test' I also have the java file 'Main.java', which compiles, without error, with the command
    javac Main.java
    Does that compile?
    Queue.java needs the statement
    package queue;
    And Main.java needs the statement
    import queue.Queue;
    I will post my modified code or help you adjust your Classpath if this does not work, because it is working fine on my comp.

  • Having Problem With Importing Another Package

    Hi, I work in a team. We have a division of labor arrangement. Under our project, each developer is assigned a sub-task. Each sub-task receives some input parameters from its upstream sub-task and generates some outputs for the downstream sub-task.
    All developers first work independently. Each of us has our own folder/pacakge in the Repository. Each of us makes an assumption on the values of the input parameters received. (We later on integrate all sub-tasks.)
    I generate my Java classes under a folder called "Orchestrator", and I access some classes under the folder/package called "common". Things go smoothly.
    Thereafter, I start accessing other folders/packages. I first retrieve other folders/packages from the Repository and then in the Eclipse Package Explorer View --> import --> Import Existing Maven Projects ... No problem. I have all other folders/packages in the Package Explorer View.
    However, when I start adding the import statements in my Java classes to access classes in other folder/package; for example,
    import company_name.overall_project_name.project_name.folder_name.subfolder_name.class_name;I have the compilation error: The import company_name.overall_project_name.project_name.folder_name cannot be resolvedFirst, I have no problem to access the "common" folder/package. The code I have below does not have compilation error and I am able to use the class that is imported:
    import company_name.overall_project_name.project_name.common.util.ParamsDictionary;Second, I have checked the consistency of path and folder name.
    Can anybody give me a clue? Thank you.

  • Problem with importing images from Nikon S60

    I have been using photoshop elements for several years - currently on Version 8.  I've had no issues importing images from my Nikon D70 - I choose the option to store the images in folders by "shot date" and this has always worked.
    My wife has started using a Nikon S60 to take photos - when trying to import these photos they all end up in a folder with today's date.  I've treid a couple of times to be sure that I didn't make a mistake in setting the import options.  I've checked the "properties" of the images and the date their shows the shot date...
    any ideas?

    Seems unusual behavior. I guess the obvious thing to do is to simply rename the folder although that’s a bit annoying.
    Have you tried selecting one of the other shot date formats from the downloader, perhaps to match the camera date format?

  • Problem with imported images into Indesign

    I have scanned a book as a one bit (B & W) 600 dpi document. I have imported the document into Indesign as i need to integrate some decsreened pics in. I then export the finished document as a press ready PDF and the image virtually disappears off the page and what is left is very distorted. the type is twice as high and about five times wider than the original image.
    I have contacted the scanner company and of course they put the issue with the exporting to the PDF.
    Can anybody help??

    This is bug #2960217 filed by me in September, relating to Indexed over Gray colorspace, also with a Fujitsu Scansnap S1500M.

    The scanner that i have used is a Fujitsu Scansnap S1500M.
    In short, don't use it in Grayscale (Or BW, I guess) modes. Use it in Color, or make sure to process the iamge in another app (like Photoshop) and save
    it with a normal colorspace.

  • OS X 10.10.2 Server. Having problems with Netboot Image

    Hey there guys, it's the first time i'm having to deal with an OS X server.
    I've made a Mac Mini into a server, and would like to use it as an Imaging Server for our Company's laptops, which are MB pro's.
    I've checked that i've updated the OS on the Mac Mini and the MacBook Pro that i took the image from to the latestth
    soo... I made the image from the laptop, got it on the Server and it's in the Library/Netboot/NetbootSP0 folder.
    The Server app picks it up, and it's set so that you can install the image on other laptops via Ethernet.
    I'm using an apple Ethernet to thunderbolt adapter for the MacBooks
    At first i thought i've messed up something with the NetBoot image, so I had to Create another one.
    First one got Recognised by the laptops when i try to Boot while pressing [Alt+N], but when it booted that way, nothing happened - it just went to the "Select language screen" that you get when turning it on for the first time.
    The second image wouldn't be recognised at all and same thing happens.
    I can give you any additional info if required, just ask me.
    Thanks

    Without any more detail it looks like you've misconfigured something somewhere? Either the workstation you've used to build the image has somehow not 'taken' properly (don't ask me to explain as it can happen sometimes for no discernible reason) or deploy studio and/or your server (amounts to the same thing) have not been configured properly and/or the network in terms of what the clients use for DNS has not been thought through properly?
    It may be none of the above but they are good places to start the debug process.
    What we need is what you're basing your private network around in terms of DNS; e.g.: server's fully qualified domain name, does it resolve on both pointers, can your clients resolve it on both pointers, have you configured deply studio's depository correctly and so-on.
    You don't need to use alt N. Either use the N key or just use the alt key to select the Boot Disk Manager. If you've valid nbis they'll show up there. DeployStudio's netboot set is just a simple, minimal, network-based bootloader. It's typically not very large. Anywhere from 2-5GB. If your nbis are larger then you've not created what you think you've created.
    Hopefully some of the questions I'm asking will start you looking in the right places?

  • Problem with importing images

    I downloaded the Lightroom 4 trial program.  After watching a tutorial on importing and organizing I imported a few photos
    from the hard drive on my laptop.  All the functions of the program are working but the images of the photos don't show up.
    Do I need to uninstall and reinstall the program? Can I do that and still have the trial time of 30 days? Is there some other
    on/off thing I need to do to make this work?

    It might be that your monitor profile is corrupt, i.e. outdated, or that by some reason no monitor profile is selected.
    Monitors "drift" over time and - after a while - may display colors in a way that is not a true representation of the color numbers.
    If a monitor has drifted way off, Lr refuses to display the images.
    The remedy is to calibrate your monitor using a hardware piece called a spectrometer plus accompanying software.
    In the short run - and only as a temporary remedy - you can set your monitor to sRGB.
    See here for how to do this in Windows: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4977176#4977176
    I don't know how to do it on a Mac - there must be something similar.
    It also can happen that in Windows there is no profile selected at all.
    If you find in your Control Panel that no profile is selected, select one.
