How can I populate a table based block without it being the current block

Ok, here are the key components:
â¢     Tab Form
â¢     ActiveX Control
â¢     VSFlexGrid
â¢     Additional Window / Canvas With Mirrored items
The problem Is not that I canât navigate to the block then execute a query, rather it is what takes place when itâs done that way.
When I attempt to do it the conventional way what takes place is visually un-appealing to the user. What triggers the need to populate the block in question is when the user selects a value in the VSFlexGrid. When done the conventional way what takes place when the value is selected is... we do a go_block, since the block is on a different tab the form then brings up that tab, and then execute_query populates the block, then go_block to return to the block/tab containing the VSFlexGrid. Then I would have to come up with a way to interface with the VSFlexGrid and return the cursor focus to the previously selected item in the VSFlexGrid. What needs to happen is when the user selects a value in the VSFlexGrid, behind the scenes the block gets populated then when the user navigate to the block/tab in question the data is already there. To further complicate matters this data comes from two different tables and the data from the parent can only be updated where the data from the child can be inserted or updated. Now if the user wants to bring up the additional sub-window the tab which has the mirrored items is removed. While this window is open the user then returns to the VSFlexGrid navigates through the grid and depending on the item selected the values in the sub-window need to be repopulated.
I guess if the block in question was on the same canvas / tab the conventional methods would be acceptable.
Now that I have painted the picture if you have any ideas my ears are open.
BTWâ¦ It looks like I have that last 10%. I am testing now and so far things are working as desired. When testing is SAT I will post the solution I have developed, maybe this will help Tony G. come up with a solution for his situation.

Hello, many options...
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
   2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
      *Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
   3. Click the Erase tab.
   4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
   5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
   6. Highlight the drive, select Partition Tab, then Format type... MacOS Extended Journalled, select the Security Options button, choose Zero Out Data, Erase... after completion do a new install.

Open System Preferences>Accounts, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.
In the same pref pane highlight your old account, click the little minus icon, then use Disk Utility to Secure Erase Free Space.

How can I get an item and it's attachments from the current list using SP's JavaScript Client Object Model on newform.aspx?

I only recently learned/read about SharePoint's JavaScript Client Object Model. I'm reading online trying to figure this out but not having much luck.
On newform.aspx (and dispform.aspx) I want to get the
current list,
the last item created, and it's attachments. I now the CAML query I need to get the last item created, but first I have to get the current list and I am not sure how to do that.
I tried this but it returns null:
SP.ListOperation.Selection.getSelectedList()

How can i pull out data from a spreadsheet only from the current month?

Data is constantly being fed into a spreadsheet using a VI, this data comprises of such things as month, year, weights, std dev, etc. I want to do some data manipulation on the current months data while the VI is running, how can I pull out only the data relating to the current month? Each input into the spreadsheet stores the values for that run on one row, and there are perhaps 150 runs each month
Any thoughts are greatefully received

How can I identify "unrequested" downloads which arrive without appearing in the Downloads window

Frequently during quiet periods while online, data downloads occur as can be observed by the data transfer indicator flashing on the modem. They have not been preceded by requests for updates, requests for specific downloads, or by announcements from any source. They usually resume if the modem is switched off for a while, and then switched on again. 50 MB has come down over the last half hour. There is usually no warning from my firewall and other security software, which does not mean that the downloads are definitely safe. This interferes with sensitive connections to banks, for instance. I have found no obvious clues while browsing folders, and there are many hidden folders in Windows 7. How can I identify the data online, preferably, or on my harddrive later ? Opening the Downloads window after the start of a session of mystery files does not help.

    When you create the Visitor, Members and Owners groups
how can you allow the user to add a document while at the same
time not allow them to edit the page when adding the document
as the only permissions are Full Control, Contribute and Read?

Hi Shabeaut,
To create a new permission level, you should manage the Parent (site collection).
Your current location is subsite, and it looks like it has unique permission(broke inheritance) that is the reason you are not able to see the create permission level. and another reason for seeing Inherit Permissions along with other menus in the ribbon.
You should also see Manage Parent along with the menus you see when your site inherits permission from parent.
So, go to your site collection and create a new permission level and assign users to it.
And to assign permission level to your new groups, you will be able assign permission when you create a new group, along with the name, all permissions would be listed in the same page(_layouts/newgrp.aspx).

How can I get new windows to open On Top Of the current window, not Behind the current window?

Populate repeating table based on task list - Need the experts out there!!!!

Ok I will try to explain this as best as I can.
What I have:
task list (out of the box, with 1 calculated field)
form library (customized using infopath)
....and a headache ;)
So What ive done so far is I put in a hyperlink in the infopath form to the task lists newitem form "click here for new task" . I have the title of this newitem form prepopulated based on the form library item. For example, if you open up a form
from the form library Titled: Test Entry, and has an ID of 5. The newform title of the task list will read "Test Entry | 5 ". So its title | ID. I then have a calculated column to take the right 3 characters of the title, so it prints out the ID.
So pretty much I have a title and ID that match the form library...
now the hard part.
Say I have 10 tasks in the tast list related to ID # 5 from the form library.
Is there a way to create a repeating table or other solution to show these 10 tasks within the form library form? I was thinking a button to query for data from a secondary source (task list) filter where ID = current Item ID. then have it set a fields value???

Hi,
Here's an idea. When you are creating the task, populate a ReferenceID field in the task list with the item ID of the form library list. In this form, create secondary data connection to the task list and include the fields that you want to show. Drag the
group on the form, it will create repeated section with controls. Create a formatting rule on the section, condition where ID!=ReferenceID, Hide this section.
This will display the repeating data from the Task list where ReferenceID is = ID and hide all others.
Another variation would be to Filter the Data Connection itself and add the condition in the filter (ID=ReferenceID). Hope it helps.

How can I open just one of my several homepages in the current tab? You can in Internet Explorer but can only open all at once in lots of tabs with Firefox?!?

Within Internet Explorer you can click on a little arrow next to the homepage icon and a dropdown appears with a list of your homepages (I have 5). So if I want to quickly check my facebook or e-mail I can click on it and then on whichever I want to visit (both are homepages). It is much quicker than using bookmarks/typing it in and I don't like the 'permanent tab' feature as I don't want them always open. Does this feature already exist?

You can create a folder with the home pages by using "Bookmark All Tabs" to open a specific page.
You can place that folder on the bookmarks toolbar or use the Bookmarks menu button that you can find in the toolbar palette to get access to that folder easily.
* Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
* "Bookmark All Tabs" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of a tab on the tab bar.
* "Bookmark This Page" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of that browser page.

How can I launch Flash Builder 4.7 without it launching the workspace?

I renamed the project by right-clicking and renaming. Now everytime I run flash builder, I get a script error. I can restore from backup if I can launch without it trying to load the difault project. Any ideas?

Uninstalling apps on the iPad will not remove them from other devices. For the apps you have added you can hold your finger on the app until they shake and get a black circle with an X...tap the X to delete the app. You cannot delete an app that came preinstalled as it is part of iOS.

How can I update a Numbers '08 document to work with the current version?

I've had Numbers '08 for quite awhile (obviously). Have a few spreadsheets in it that I tried as an alternative to Excel. I've now got the most current version of Numbers but it won't open the spreadsheets created in the '08 version. I get an error message telling me to save them with Numbers '09, which I do not have.
Is there any way to get these updated to work with the current version? If so, that would be great, would like to try it out. If not, I'm just going to copy this stuff into Excel and be done with Numbers entirely.

This is a work-around - but also send feedback to apple that that is pretty low in the 21st century where people may keep data without opening it for a very long time - then need it desperately.

Export the spreadsheets to another format - CSV may work - then import into the new version.
Also you could try export to excel format and import.

How can I jump from scene to scene without settings being cleared

I'm making a Jeopardy game. When someone clicks on the button with the dollar amount on it, I have it reset to a different scene on the button so the players know it has been used. When another button is clicked, the first button resets back to its original dollar amount, rather than the blank scene it was reset to.
I'm not sure I'm wording the question very well, but I would appreciate any help you might have for me.

In each button i have this code on my main screen i have this

     cellnumber = 1; (i made the instance of each button "Cell" and then a number incrimenting....Cell1, Cell2.....

Once it goes to the Questions scene that is where i click a button that will add the index number to my total points depending on if they clicked the button for team 1 or team 2... then that goes to my Answer scene which shows the right answers.....

this code works so far but atm as soon as i try to have more than one button disapear it doesnt work, the problem i see is that im telling it to go back to that scene at frame 1, and that has all the buttons appear.....in other words it will make one disapear because its the button right before it but the frame with all the cells will override as soon as i try to get another button to dissapear.
