How do I prevent transactions submitted by different users from getting intermingled?

We are using ColdFusion 8 with Oracle. I have a situation where 2 users are creating entirely separate records (there is no relationship between them) at the same time, and then they attempt to make changes to them. Once they have submitted their changes, their records re-display to them, but the users can now see parts of the other's record in their own. We are using cftransaction, but we are not using cflock in our code. It is my understanding that cflock should not be necessary in ColdFusion versions later than 4.5. Is that correct? If so, what can I do to remedy the above? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What do you mean, precisely, by "the users can now see parts of the other's record"?
What's the code you're using to update the DB, and what code are you running to refetch the data & displaying it?
And is the data updated correctly in the DB, or is it being munged?
<cftransaction> and <cflock> are only superficially related in that they effect kinda the same thing, but the former acts on the database (or - more to the point - is an instruction to the database to handle operations transactionally), the latter on CF code. But the two are not connected in such a way that one specifically needs to use one or the other or both at the same time.

I'm trying to find out a solution about this scenario: our users need to release a Purchase Order (ME28) and/or a Service Entry Sheet (ML85) in SAP from a WEB based application through TIBCO, but the requirement is to execute this operation with the same SAP User name of the user (with his authorization) and not with the TIBCO user that is logged to SAP.

Thank you for your help, but I can't apply this solution, because we need to execute the transaction with a specific user name and not a generic user, besides our user have different authorization, for example the user Mr. Rossi can release only his Purchase Order but not the PO of another user Mr. Bianchi. Moreover we need to see the PO released/modified from a specif user name. So this is our constraint.

That's just the sort order. It's displaying the media alphabetically because you have clicked on the NAME column near the top of the iTunes window.
Click on the little triangle above the column of numbers (usually on the far left side of the main iTunes window) and the media will sort in the order in which you added each item to the playlist.
You can easily reorder songs within a playlist: Click and HOLD on the song you wish to move, then drag-and-drop it wherever you like.

Should I increase rdisp/rfc_min_wait_dia_wp ( = 4 now ) and rdisp/wp_no_dia ( = 18 now ) to a higher value?

If I understand correctly, there are 4 dialog processes running and 14 RFC running at the same time.
If I want to resolve this problem, I need to reduce paralellism of RFCs and increase dialog work processes, right? Here is my new configuration. Any thoughts?

Hi,
iChat version through from version 2 to version 6 allowed you to choose whether to Save Transcripts of iChats.
It was a setting in the App Menu > Preferences > Messages pane.
In Messages beta this now longer happens and "Saving" is obligatory.
By default the Chats are stored in a folder called iChats and this is normally in the Documents folder. (they are still called iChats in Messages).
In addition Messages Beta also stores some iMessage info in the Home Folder/Library/Messages
You can access this via the Finder > Go Menu and holding the ALT ley to see the Library listing (It is normally invisible)
The info is held in the chat-db database.
At present you cannot turn Off saving the transcripts.

Hello. I bought my new Mac a couple of months ago. I set it up with three different users, one for myself as admin, one for my wife, and one for our daughter, all on the same Mac. My wife and I both have our own Itunes account. I spent a couple of days downloading almost all of our CDs into my Itunes library. Now, I want to know how my wife and daughter can access these songs in their libraries so that they can put tracks on their Ipods. So far, the only option that I have been able to see is the downloading of the CDs all over again into my wife's library. Wouldn't this just make duplicate tracks on the Hard Drive? If anyone can help, or point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.

It works for "initial sharing" but the described solution includes some drawbacks;
- songs added under one account don't show "automatically" for other users
- if added there is a copy of the song-file (* 2.mp3)
- no "bulk" import withoud re-adding already present songs
Any workarounds for these problems known? 'caus I'm getting tired to keep the 3 iTune Libs of my girls in synch

Call transaction BDC with different user id

Hello,
We have a BDC program for creating Invoice using "CALL TRANSACTION VF01" method. But there are are few user IDs accessing this program who do not have authorisation to VF01. So requirement is to create Invoice with a common user id.
Please help if it is possible to call transaction with different user id. Please also provide you inputs if you can suggest some other way to fulfill this requirement.

if users are not authorized to post invoice, why is it required to surpass the checks?
A Question the business should answer.
It should not be the consultants obligation to find doubtable ways.

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to access SharePoint list from Java application through REST.
In some cases you may need to create a new access token (this is somewhat akin to "running as a different user").
Essentially, you are using a different user's security context. Typically, you would create an Active Directory account specifically for this purpose and then grant appropriate rights to the user account in SharePoint.
