How do I save all of the apps I bought on my iPad when I update to OS5

I want to update my iPad to OS5. When I try, it says that I will lose purchased items off my iPad. How do I save these items--books, apps, etc. iTunes only downloaded the books that were in iBooks

If you connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes you should be able to copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases - that should copy apps, ibooks and iTunes media purchases. Other epub books or PDFs that are in the iBooks app should also copy over. eBooks that you have in other ebook apps should be backed up in the app's own store (e.g. Kindle books purchased from Amazon are on your Amazon account).
Before starting the update you should also backup the device (right-click the iPad 'device' and select 'back up'), and copy off any important documents, files, notes etc (e.g. by email, the file sharing section at the bottom of the Apps tab in iTunes, wifi, whatever the apps that you use support) - the update process should backup and restore the content but it's best to be safe.

Restore your new iPad from your most recent backup of your iPad2 in iTunes when you set it up, and then set up your wife's iPad2 as new device in iTunes by clicking on 'restore' on the main summary screen.
Alternatively, you can just go to 'Settings>Reset>Erase all Contents and Settings'.

Is there a way that if I have apps in my library on iTunes on my computer that I can calculate how much GB space all of the apps would take up total?

I have apps in my library in my iTunes account for my computer, and I was wondering if I could add all of the space needed up and get the total of the amount of space all of the apps would take up if I put all of them on my iPod (which I probably won't as I have at least 20). No. Frequently the apps take up more storage space on the iPod that the file download size.

How do i save Images from the "Saved Photos" folder in my iPad

I have no idea how to save the images that i save while surfing the net or emails.
They are saved to a folder in my IMAGE build in app called "Saved Photos", but i don't know how to get them out of my iPad.
Does anyone know how do do this?

Very simple, open up my computer and the iPad icon should be displayed just like any other drive. When you open it up it will than say internal storage. then a folder, mine is labeled DCIM like many camera folder names, that is where all your saved photos are. i think you can only copy them from the folder to your hard drive, and you have to delete them on the iPad. i guess you can say it treats it like a huge flash drive but just with your saved photos

All of your music, apps, photos, videos, etc, should reside on your computer, not just on your easilly stolen,, lost or damaged prtable device.
A normal update, or even upgrade, restores all your settings and data from the backup thats created at the start of the process. Even if something goes wrong, you can sync back everything from your computer.

I can't update the software on my desktop because it's too old and no stores seem to have the "bridge" disc I need to upgrade my current system. How do I keep iTunes from copying apps I bought on my iPad onto my iphone?

I just got an iPad and I've had an iPhone for quite awhile. I put a bunch of apps on the iPad but they were all ones I already had on the phone. Then I added some new games for my son and next time I synced my iphone, iTunes put the new games on there too even though I didn't select to add them.
Is this a setting I missed? Is iTunes trying to sync my phone with the iPad?

With your device attached to the PC go to iTunes (on the PC).
Select your device from the sidebar.
Click on Apps (at the top).
Scroll to the bottom of your listed apps and just underneath, you need to uncheck "Automatically install new apps"

Ok, so I was able to find one but the one i'm most diappointed is the "free music" app i purchased and it had hundreds of songs that i didn't put on my desk top to save. So just so we're clear, I cannot get that app back again with all my songs if it wasn't in the "purchased" place?
Also,
my husband has a iphone 4 and i've been trying to connect it to our Garmin GPS through bluetooth. Now both devices recognize it but once a call is made or received, nothing goes through the GPS. I've had it working before but it was before a couple of upgrades. It is currently on ios7.2 upgrade. Is that why it won't work?

I updated the phone before backing it up on iTunes, now the update wanted me to connect the phone with iTunes and it says the phones in recovery mode and it must be restored before its used with iTunes. I go to click restore and it says it will reset it to factory default and I'll lose all my current data. I have all my sons pictures and videos along with this notes. I can't lose all of this data! Please help!

You have to restore the iPod, no ifs, ands, or buts...
After iOS is installed you will be asked if you what to set it up as a new iPod or if you want to restore from a backup.
If you have a good backup you can restore that and you're good to go.
If you don't have a good backup, then you end up with a "clean" iPod....

Do you have access to another Mac with a disk drive? If so you can do it in one of two ways:
1 - on the Mac with the optical drive launch Disk Utility and make a disk image of the iLife 11 disk. Connect the two Macs together and transfer the disk image to your MacBook Air. Mount the disk image and install from it. I have my iLife disks saved that way for quick and easy reinstall when necessary.
2 - connect the two Mac together so you can access the MBA from the Mac with the disk drive. Insert the iLife disk, and install from the second Mac to the MBA.

I updated via my iPhone 4s. The apps were on my iPhone 4s. That's all the information that I have. The update to ios7 seems to have gone smoothly - everything else is working, phone texting, email, internet, etc. But all of the apps I had installed over the past year are no longer showing up as shortcuts. No facebook, no twitter, no espn, etc. They are all still listed in my app store as purchased, but the shortcuts and my folders are gone. Thanks.

Just upgraded to lateste verison of Firefox and started using the Tab groups. Like them, but noticed that Save all bookmarks is now gone. How do I save all my bookmark stored inside the tab groups?

I had to restart firefox because of an update and I saved all my tabs and when I restarted firefox it has lost all of my saved bookmarks...won't be using the new tab groups again..very disappointed

Recently a course was hidden from iTunes U because less than 75% of material available. I checked and all of the apps and information is available. How do I fix this?

I checked all of the apps and materials and they are available to download from the app store or the course. How do I get this course added back into our iTunes U site?

To "Unhide" a Collection, you can highlight the hidden Collection and choose "Unhide" from the Collections Page menu (see attached).
