How do i send an array of clusters with variable size over TCP/IP?

Hi,
I'm trying to send an array of clusters with varible size over TCP/IP,. But I'm facing the following problems:
1) I need to accept the size of array data from the user and increase the size dynamically.
I'm doing this using the property node but how do I convey the new size to my TCP read?
2) I need to wire an input to my 'bytes to read' of the TCP read.
But the number of bytes to read changes dynamically
How do I ensure the correct number of bytes are read and reflected on the client side?
3) Is there anyway I can use global varibles over a network such that their values are updated just as if they would on one computer?
Will be a great help if someone posts a solution!

Instead of writing long and complicated sentences that make little sense, why don't you simply show us your code?
What does any of this have to do with xml strings???? I don't see how using a local variable as type input changes anything. The user cannot interact with "property nodes", just with controls. Please clarify. Once the array of clusters is flattened to a string you only have one size that describes the size of the data, no matter how huge it is (as long as it is within the limits of I32). Similarly, you read the string of that same defined length and form the array of clusters from it. How big are the strings? What is your definition of "huge"?
Here's is my earlier code, but now dealing with an array of clusters. Not much of a change. Since you have columns, you want 2D. Add as many diensions you want, but make sure that the control, diagram constant, and indicator all match.
The snipped shows for a 1D array, while the attached VI shows the same for a 2D array. Same difference.

Hi All
i am using a keithley 2010 DMM for power measurements,
i am using the 2010 scan read VI which gives the reading output as an array of clusters, these clusters contain the measurement,units,channel.
i have 6 channels for measuring voltage across and i want to make 5 readings per second on each channel which makes upto 30 readings per second.
i want to segregate these clusters from the array according to the channel id and take the results,
please tell me if we have function for this or you have any possible solution for the same.

also one more problem i have with this VI is whenever i am trying to run the VI, the sub VI (Scan config.vi) gets popped up and waits for user response (next) cntrl+right arrow, how can i get rid of this and run the VI in continues mode?

Array of Clusters with Graph - Y Scale Change Event

Hello everyone
I have a Array of Clusters with a Graph inside each cluster. I need to trigger a event when the user type a new value on the graphs' Y scale and hit "Enter" to apply the change. Any ideas how to trigger that?
I am not considering the "mouse enter" event because I have other events linked with that already.

We would like to basically do a 'mail merge' of our list of customers with an interactive PDF file (including videos, menus, etc - not just form fill out and web links) to create a single PDF file that contains multiple mail pieces ... one for each customer ... with each mail piece being customized for that customer. Customizations would include different greetings (Dear Bob, Dear Dana, etc), as well as different charts based on data unique to the customer, different photographs, etc.
I've seen that InDesign and Acrobat Professional can be used to create an interactive PDF (such as from http://tv.adobe.com/watch/ask-the-adobe-ones/14-calling-rufus-about-interactive-pdf-making). However I don't understand how I can insert data from a database, csv file, excel file etc into the PDF file so that each page, or each set of pages, within the PDF can be customized.
Can anyone point me to a tool to use for this?

Open the powerpoint presentation, on the click on the 'file' button located at the top left of the menu bar, click on 'save as' at the bottom of the window that opens you should see a dropdown format gliff that says powerpoin presentation .pptx; click on the gliff and choose 'movie.mov'

I have created a cluster of 3 elements (string, I32, I32) dynamically then I want to create a 1D array of clusters dynamcally as well, but I am having trouble creating the array of clusters . If anybody has any suggestions please help. I will really appreciate it, Thank You

You are not building your array correctly. What you are doing is taking a single element array of data you just read and replacing it with an empty data set.
Look at the following ways of doing this. The one in the middle is only available in later versions of LV, but is supposed to handle memory more effeciently. But, both the top and middle basically do the same; I preallocate memory for the rows and columns, then replaces the element of the array with the current row and columns data. The output of the loop with have a 2-D array of all the data.
The bottom example does create an empty array before the loop runs and uses the indexing feature of the for loop to build the array for you. All gve you the same result as far as data in your array is concerned.

Reference to Array of Clusters with an array element

Hi,
I have an array of clusters CONTROL (calling it as "top level cluster array") with one of the cluster elements being a cluster array (please see attached).
I plan to pass "Reference" of this top level cluster to different VIs (like add element VI, insert element VI, delete element VI etc) and access (add/modify delete) the elements in this array.
In my code, how do I typecast the Array Element (cluster) to the inner cluster (as shown in the figure) ?
I am using LV RT on PXI.

You cannot use references in the same way that you use pointers around in C. LabVIEW does not manage memory in the same way that C does. This is actually a good thing, though C programmers find it "cumbersome" or "restrictive". I have also programmed in C, and frankly I prefer LabVIEW's memory management any day of the week.
You had not initially mentioned that this was going to be done in multiple places at (potentially) the same time. Given that, my recommendation is to look into using Action Engines. They provide a means of basically providing a one-location acccess for your data. By using a single VI to access/modify your data you preclude the generation of race conditions. You may also want to join this with the concept of using variants to provide a means to quickly find your data rather than looping to find the element you're interested in. This technique has been around for a while and it has been discussed before. There are examples floating around. Will need to check to find one.
As for your question regarding using the reference method which you tried to employ in your initial approach, that's simply not going to gain you anything. You will still be creating buffers when you try to access the cluster elements. But you already have this information in the array inside the outer for loop, so you're just creating unnecessary extra programming for yourself.

How to create a list/array off numbers with boolean attributes

Maybe the title doesn't explain this too well but what I'm trying to do I'd imagine should be straight forward, I just don't know how!
I want an array of numbers to be entered by a user, and for each of these numbers I wish to have a boolean, (it will select later what action is performed on that number)
The array size can vary
e.g.
element Numeric Value Boolean
0 5 True
1 20 True
2 -5 False
3 10 True
n 100 False
I don't see any list with numeric and boolean, maybe I just haven't spotted it or do I have to make it somehow?
Any suggestions please?

It not really what I'm looking for though.
I require is a control that inputs both numeric and boolean, as in the example I mentioned. I guess I'm looking for a cluster really but I thought there may be something more straight forward.
From the example I gave
Element 0 of this array has been entered as a x, and the boolean True was entered (so I perform a "test" A on value x)
Element 1 of this array has been entered as a y, and the boolean True was entered (so I perform a "test" A on value y)
Element 2 of this array has been entered as a z, and the boolean False was entered (so I perform a "test" B on value z)
I could also use a 2d array were I enter another numeric value (0/1 for False/True) but I'm not sure I can limit this column only to accept 0 or zero and the first row any number.
I was hoping there would be some easier way to do this

All email service providers have a size limit on sending an email. See the following link for info on yahoo mail's file size restrictions, and ensure you are within this restriction.

I've created one user(say BIPUB1) from AS OIDDAS portal and assigned him XMLP_ADMIN role. I've 10 other users with whom I will share a report. Each user has different authorization(VPD based). Now I want to create a BI-publisher report using a discoverer report(owner BIPUB1) as datamodel and share that report with all 10 users. But all these 10 users should view data based on their authorization defined in OIDDAS. How should I
achieve it?
Can I create a JDBC connection from BI-publisher Admin tab with variable userid and password. When user will logon to BIpublisher portal with login_id and password given in OIDDAS, these variables will capture those values of userid and password and show the report data as they individual user has authorization? are you talking about BI Publisher Desktop or BI Publisher Enterprise Edition?
BI Publisher Desktop is just for building templates.

You are right. It seems the format has changed.
However, now there is and admin tool that comes with J2EE SDK 1.3 Now you don't have to touch the config file by hand.
You can use this tool to get the configuration done.
To add JDBC driver the command is...
j2eeadmin -addJdbcDriver oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
and to add a data source the command is...
j2eeadmin -addJdbcDatasource jdbc/Oracle jdbc:oracle:thin@rtc:1521:acct

How to transfer encrypted file using B2B sftp with custom doc over generic

we have a requirement to get and send an encrypted file to/from our trading partner.
Previously we configured B2B sftp with custom doc. over generic exchange protocol to get a text file and used 1st 11 charecters in the file as identifier for the TPA configuration and successfully processed the file. Since we are getting an encrypted file , we need to find a way to identify the TPA config. .
Please reply to this thread if you have any suggestions. Pls. feel free to ask if you need more information to understand the situation.

I have sent mail to you . We are actually using file name convensions but we are using internal delivery as B2B InQuueue . And when we use custom document over generic exchange , in the paramenters we do not see any file name property. i hava also sent you the TPA so that you can get idea of the configuration we did.

How do I send an array over endpoint 2 and receive an array over endpoint 1?

Background:
I'm a device developer. I have an HID device that interrupt transfers over endpoint 1 and endpoint 2. The device enumerates successfully as an HID on mac, windows, and linux. I've use a couple different .dll files to communicate with the device using visual studio and python with some success and now I'd like to get it to work in labview.
Status to date:
1. Successfully installed device hijacker driver so NI MAX can see the device as USB::0x####::0x####:erialNumber::RAW (# inserted to protect the innocent and SerialNumber is an actual number)
2. I can see the device in MAX. Tried to send a line of numbers and something is sent back, but it isn't useful yet.
3. Tried interruptusb.vi and it doesn't do anything but timeout.
4. Tried Read USB Descriptor Snippet1.vi and an 18 byte array shows up and the VID and PID are parsed out correctly if the bRequest is Get Descriptor and the Descriptor Type is Device. None of the endpoint descriptor types return anything. A bRequest won't trigger a device function. It needs an array over the out endpoint.
The problem:
Intuitively I'm at a loss of what to do next. The device needs to receive a command from a 16 byte array gets passed through the out endpoint (2). Then it will respond with a 16 byte array through the IN endpoint(1). It seems as though the interruptusb.vi should work, but the interrupt transfer is a receive only demonstration. How should I format a 16 byte array to go through the out endpoint? Does it need to be flattened?

The nuggets were great for getting started and helped with installing the labview hijack driver for the HID device. Closer examination may lead to the conclusion that the code I'm using is very very similar to the nugget with minor changes to the output. Definitely the nuggets are useful, but for my device, there is more to it.
It is not USBTMC compliant. It requires an array of bytes be sent and received. The problem may have to do with timing and ensuring that the byte transfer is correct. When communicating from visual studio, a declared array of characters works fine. I tried that with this setup and it doesn't work consistently. Of particular concern is why with this setup the device shows up, doesn't work properly until stopped, then works fine, but when the labview VI is stopped, the device disappears and no longer available in the VISA combobox. The Device Manager still shows the device, but Labview must have an open handle to it.
I'd really like to be able to call the dll used in Visual Studio, so the user can choose to use the included software or a Labview VI without having to reinstall a driver. Afterall, HID is great because the driver is under the hood. Having to load one for Labview defeats the purpose of developing an HID device. If I wanted to load a driver, I'd program the device to be a USB-Serial device and use the labview VISA serial vi's.
For now I'll be happy to get a stable version in Labview that will communicate consistently even if it is the hijacked driver.
