How do I unzip jpg files I have been sent?

I just switched from Internet Explorer. with Explorer when i received zipped photos I clicked download and Microsoft Picture Manager opened them. Now I get garbage when MPM opens them.

What is MPM? Usually in a download if you double click on the zip it will unzip on the File Explorer.

Why would you be surprised? You were syncing your Notes with iCloud or a Mail Account. Synchronization means when you make a change on one device, it affects all other devices that are synched for the same purpose. Like when you delete an email (usually) it also disappears from your other devices as well.

If you cannot select the text at all, it may be locked, or its Group/Layer/whatever may be locked.
You can look into the Layers palette and see: locked items are shown with a padlock next to the eye to the left.
If you can select it but it shows as paths with Anchor Points, you may look for a hidden Layer or hidden objects, where the original live type may be: they are shown without the eye.
Failing that, you may ask for a file with the original live Type.
Failing that, you will have to recreate the live Type on top of the outlined Type, and you will need to know the font, or use a substitute font.

Rar is not zip so you need a unrar utility to expand it. The one above is one example of many. If you follow that link you will see a "Related Software" section on that page that lists a bunch more.
FWIW, my current favorite is UnRarX.
There's also the unrar cammand if you need to do it from the terminal (or script).

Ah, I see want you mean. This might not be practical for you, but if you select one instance of the highlighted text and add a [space] to the little sticky note, all of the highlighted text on that page will appear in the summary.

Depends how they were transferred. If you used Migration Assistant, a new user was created. Look there in your documents folder. If you used Setup Assistant, look in your documents folder.

First, to access documents you must use an app designed for that specific Document type. So Pages will not be able to open PDFs. The Documents app by Readdle can handle PDFs though. In the latter case, you'd open the app, click the menu icon at its top left, and click Open to go to your iCloud Drive. With Pages, if you had files outside the main Pages folder, click + then iCloud and navigate to the file's location.

You can't change the way Pages import .doc files.
It was never written that it reproduce exactly the original one.
From my point of view, as I refuse to give a cent to M...soft, the best way to deal with documents issued by their Office suite is to use the free libreOffice.
