How to boot an instance of windows

I did not get an exact title of my post to explain what i need, but anyways i will give the details here.
I have a windows server with 3 partitions:
C-windows+applications
D-DATA
E-DATA
1.I want to copy the C partition using the Volume Shadow Copy and keep them in a folder on D partition e.g  D:\WINDOWS-backup1
2.I need to make the copy found in the D partion bootable.
Please advise how this can be done.

John,
the situation is that i have schedule that runs specific jobs and i want to get access to the view object inside the Application module
i know what view object to access and the application module that contain them
but i can't get the application module instance as there are no FacesContext
so after i used your suggestion i got this Exception
java.lang.NullPointerException

however i have tested it in a test class inside the main method and its works
but when calling it in my code i got the previous Exception

Urgent!! How to setup Tomcat instance in windows??
I have the next problem when execute tomcat.bat start:
    sin espacion en entorno
you must set java_home to point at your java development kit installation

You need to set the following two environment variables after you install tomcat on windows
    set JAVA_HOME= {Java directory path}
    set TOMCAT_HOME= {Tomcat directory path}
Do this and try running start.bat again. It should get past this error.

  • How to make SAP Instance on Windows without SAPinst (manually)

    Dear colleagues!
On unix platform It's usually more convenient for me to make an additional sap instance by manually copying of sapmnt, usr and a couple of others folders, making links, editing /etc/services. It's faster than running SAPINST (for me).
So the question is - how and what should I perform for making an instance, central instance as well on WINDOWS platform.
    with best regards,
    Vladimir

    Hi,
It is not recommended way to install SAP System without following Standard Installation Method. Please read concerned Official SAP Installation Guide and follow the standard procedure without inviting more complexities and headache.

  • How downgrade boot camp to install windows 7 x32

    Good morning!
I have mac mini (late 2012)
    Yosemite
    boot camp v 5.
Apple support site tells me that it's possible to install win7 x32 (I do need this version)
but "use the previous version of boot camp"
question: how to downgrade boot camp to version 4.*.*
    With regards
    Igor

You will a version of OS X that has Bootcamp v4 to boot from. You can install the appropriate version of OS X which supports v4 on an external disk using OS X: Installing OS X on an external volume - Apple Support. Boot from this new volume and install WXP.
Please also see Boot Camp 4, OS X Lion and Mountain Lion: Frequently asked questions - Apple Support.

  • How to install Dialogin Instance on Windows for which DB+CI on AIX ?

    Dear Experts
Our DB (Oracle 10.2.0.2.0)  +CI (WAS 700) a Netweaver 2004s ABAP System on on AIX 5.3 system, We wanted to install 2 BATCH Servers on Windows?
Quickly any links / docs / notes ?
    Rgds

Your requirement is not 'exactly' heterogenous as such.
you simply want to install new app servers, which you can install as per standard windows installation.
The only thing you should take care is that /sapmnt and /usr/sap/trans are shared on to your windows machine via SAMBA or any filesystem sharing tool.
/sapmnt would be needed for sharing of Profiles and /usr/sap/trans for transport or possibly something like listener etc.

  • HT3777 How to install Boot Camp on 32bit Windows 8 on a 2011 MacBook Pro?

I used Boot Camp to install Windows 8 Consumer Preview as the 2nd OS on my 2011 MacBook Pro. However after the installation I cannot install the additional Boot Camp just the drivers for webcam/wifi/ethernet/cardreader/display/chipset etc.
But I would like to be able to use the function keys to adjust the brightness and volume like on a normal laptop without having to go through settings.
    Anyone know how?

You need to install the Boot Camp Windows Support Software, but I have no idea which version of OSX you have so, if 10.6.x the software is on the OSX install disk, likewise for 10.5.x, if you are running 10.7.x (lion) it is a download from the Boot Camp Assistant.

how do you enlarge boot camp partition after windows is installed

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
You can do it with third-party programs, but I don't recommend it because you can damage the hard drive. The best way to do it is to delete your Windows volume and create it again with the size you need

  • How do I remove the old windows boot camp partition which is now useless on my new Macbook pro

I had boot camped windows Vista to my old Macbook Pro 2009.
When I bought a new Macbook Pro Retina Late 2013, I restored from my Time Machine backup. It never put Windows Vista on as there was compatability issues.
I recently tried to partition in Boot Camp to install Windows 8 so that I can use a particular program for work. The "ghost" partition is still there and I can't see an option to make the HD as one again. Boot Camp wants me to format the HD as single and journaled which I understand but if I restore from my backup it puts the "ghost" partition back in. 6 hours of waiting to find that out!
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Thanks for responding.
Boot Camp shows my HD as a rectangle when I go to the "partition" tab but nearly half of it is white. Is this the free space?
The error message I got was:-
The disk cannot be partitioned because some of the files could not be moved.
Back up the disk and use Disk Utility to format it as a single Mac OS extended (journaled) volume. Restore your information to the disk and try using Boot Camp assistant again.
I was only making a small partition, so it couldn't have been too big.
There is no evidence of any Windows installation or a physical partition but it must be there to get that message. Is that correct?
I can't see an option to format my whole HD but even if there was, the problem would reappear when restored from TMachine.
    UPDATE:
just tried to make the white area on my HD into a new partition and then erase it.
I'm trying Boot Camp again to see if that has worked. It just takes about 2 hours to get to the problem stage again!!

  • Just loaded windows 7 on a macbook pro - how do you dual boot OS X and windows 7

Hi successfully loaded windows 7 and partitioned drive (I need windows for work Microsoft crm system)
All ok but a pain to have to keep logging off and on between OS X & Windows
I understand that there is a way to dual boot - I am running Snow Leopard on a macbook pro lap top OS x 10.6.7
    Can anyone help please
    Ian

You can install Parallels or Fusion, either will work. When you setup either Parallels or fusion you can tell it to use your already installed Boot Camp installation of Windows as its target guest operating system.
You would then just boot into OSx, start your VM (Parallels or Fusion), then you'll have access to both OSx and Windows without having to reboot.
I have this setup and two monitors. I have my Windows running on my external monitor and OSx running on my Macbook Pro monitor at the same time.
Beware that you will need to re-register Windows to get a second key. This is free and easily done either online or by calling the Microsoft registration number. The reason for needing a second key is that Windows, although only installed once in your Boot Camp partition sees the virtual hardware created by your virtual machine and thinks it has been reinstalled on a new computer.

  • How to boot from a repairing disk error? Windows 8.1

    Hello,
I installed the iCloud yesterday for my iPhone 5s, and then a box popped up saying to restart and so I clicked OK as you do as i needed
to restart my PC anyway. So it restarted and went into Automatic Repair and now every time i start my computer it goes into this and then goes to a black screen, i need my computer for school and exams so need this sorted pretty quickly. i have read that it
is a common problem, but i can't seem to get F8 up the only think i can do is go into my motherboard settings and from there i can boot it form my SSD where the boot file is but this just tries to load it and goes to Automatic Repair. i can't get Microsoft
to help me as i need product identification number which can only be found when you have booted up the computer. Idiots !!!! Please can some one find me a step-by-step guide as I need this sorted quickly as i am in the middle of my exams. Thank you. Zach.

    Hi,
    Apologize for the late reply.
Do we have a Windows repair disk available? If yes, we may consider to take a system restore from there. We could contact the manufacturer to get a repair disk.
    a) After you boot your computer using Windows DVD or System Repair Disc, a black screen appears with gray text "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD". Press any key.
    b) Select the correct time and Keyboard type.
    c) Click Repair your computer in the lower left corner.
    d) Select Troubleshoot from Choose an option screen.
    e) Click Advanced options in Troubleshoot screen.
    f) Select System Restore.
    ======
Or take a try to do a selective boot up with bios:
get cmd to open and check
    bootrec /fixMBR
    bootrec /Fixboot
    bootrec /rebuildBCD
    and also
    chkdsk /r c:
    chkdsk /r d:
    chkdsk /r e:
    chkdsk /r f:
    Hope this may help
    Best regards
