How to change the parameter's value of Oracle Forms Applet?

Hello,
I'm working with Oracle Forms 10.1.2.3.0 and JRE 1.6.0_14, we got some performance issues and we think are related with Java, so we enabled Java trace and we realized that every time user moves the cursor from one item to another, the applet sends a request to the server. This is the request.

I want to disable these connections as Sun states that sometimes they are not needed (not sure if this is the case but we want to test it).
I got a possible answer from a Sun forum, the possible fix is to set the following property to false:

<PARAM name="codebase_lookup" value="false">
</APPLET>
But I don't know how to pass that parameter to Oracle Forms applet.
Does anybody know?

You can try passing the parameter in the HTML template file ... for example in the $ORACLE_HOME/forms/server/basejpi.htm
i.e.
<PARAM NAME="TYPE" VALUE="%jpi_mimetype%">

<PARAM NAME="CODE" VALUE="oracle.forms.engine.Main" >

I have never done it myself so I do not know if it would be recognized though.

I'd like to change the Destination URI of item of a table region when a column X of my view is not NULL. Where should I set the new Destination URI value for the item table region for specific row? Is in the RowImpl for the view object or in the Controler of the page?

All examples that I saw till now here, suggestes to change something in the page in Controller but based on something entered in the page. In my case is IN to OUT, I will render some item table with a specific value parameter based what is in the database. Being more specific, I have a html table and one column Col1 has a value and it will have a DESTINATION URL if another column Col2 is Null. I believe I would have to check somewhere if the Col2 is null or not and change the DESTINATION URL property.

How to Change the default Search value for Field Role?

I went through numerous threads on how to default the search value , but does not help for my issue. Hence im posting this new thread. Please provide your suggestions on how to achieve this.
For the Ship-to party field (in item detail ) on webui when i do a F4 help i get the pop up with various search criteria and for the field Role the default value is "Ship-to party". which is visible. we need to change this default value to Prospect which is available in drop down.
The attribute is STRUCT.ROLE and view BP_HEAD_SEARCH/SearchHelp . The method GET_DQUERY_VALUEHELPS from the context node class is called to fill the value help for this attribute, but i dont understand how the ship-to party is filled as default. There is no code in this method to default the value.
The generic GET_V_S_STRUCT method also does not default the Ship-to party on this field.
I want to understand how this Ship-to party is filled by default and how can i change this to prospect..

We had a same requirement of defaulting Sales org and division in search criteria for a specific value.
this can be doen by redefining "DO_PREPARE_OUTPUT" method in IMPL class for the respective view.

The IReport interface extends IViewingServerGroupInfo interface, that allows you to specify the server group.
The choice selection for that interface is as follows: 0 = first available, 1 = prefer the selected server group, and 2 = only use the selected server group.
The server group selection is by the SI_ID for that server group InfoObject.

How to increase the request timeout value in Oracle 10g web container

Iam using Oracle10g Application server .
For long running backend process my JSP page is getting re-submitted after 3 mins.
How do i avoid this ?
Is there a way to increase the http request timeout interval.
If so where do i change the timeout interval.
In IIS web server I can change the timeout interval.

Hi,
If you mean to increase the request timeout i.e the time when a request is submitted to the server and the response is sent by the server it can be done in httpd.conf file located in $OracleHome/Apache/Apache/conf directory.
The attribute to be used for setting timeout is "Timeout". By default teh value is 600 seconds i.e 5 minutes.
After making these changes , run command dcmctl updateConfig -ct OHS and restart the HTTP Server. Please note these commands need to be run only if the httpd.conf changes are done through text editor.

How to set the parameter ID value for a range

I am trying to call transaction KSB1 (Display actual line items for cost center) by supplying all the default values for the selection options/parameters and skipping the selection screen from the calling program. However, for the cost center range, both HIGH and LOW field have the same PID (i.e. KOS). Same thing for the cost element range. When I set the value for PID "KOS", only the low value got populated.
I tried to pass a BDC table to the
CALL TRANSACTION 'KSB1' USING bdc_tab
, but the PID used before takes higher priority so the bdc_tab values got overwritten by the PID values for those fields.
Does anybody know how to find or set the PID for a selection range? I need PID for Cost center range, cost element range and the period (PID="VPE").

KSB1 is a Report , not a Tcode to maintain master data or any thing like that ?, u can also cross check?
by using SUBMIT command u have to RKAEP000 this program along with the selection screen.

How to change the dynamically LOV value to old value if it errors out

We have an use case like when a value is selected from LOV, some validations(EO validations) occur on that and if the validation fails we are throwing exception.But the new value is appearing in LOV text box. We need to display the old value in the LOV if the validation fails. Can you please let me know if there is any way to do that?

After thinking about this, I wondered if I had mis-read the use-case....so I added #2
Please state your Jdeveloper version, and elaborate on your use-case:
*1. Are you saying that the LOV contains incorrect values that the user has chosen?*
If so you should restrict the LOV values to what is acceptable for the row (based on what other values are in the row)
By restricting the values in the LOV the wrong value can no longer be selected, you would not need to build in functionality to revert back to previous values.
I woud start by creating a view criteria for the view object the LOV is based on. The form values would send the binding variables to the view criteria, and that would then execute the query (invoking the view criteriea). The LOV would then contain some information on only acceptable values.

*2. Are you saying that the user has selected other fields in the form -- validation on those fields fails, and you want to revert back, but the LOV still contains the values selected?*
In that case, you need to clear the values in the form and re-execute the view object -- and refreshing to the correct value.

How to change the input language ?

Hello,
I am writing an Add-on that needs to change the input language when the user
clicks on the Item Code field ("5") in the "Item Master Data" form.
I can perform the change when I am out side of the SAP application (for example if I create a Windows Form), however I cannot control the input language of the SAP itself through code.
I even tried using Application.Sendkeys, however I was unable to send a combination of ALT+SHIFT, or at least it did not have any affect
Here is the code on how to change the input language on a Windows Form:

I am not sure I understand the problem. Anyway in B1 you change the language by
changing it from the Administration module. This raises a Application event that
is sent to all the add-ons. The event is aet_LanguageChanged and you should
then change the language handled by your add-on when you receive it.
