CA Forum: Exporting
I am using Visual Studio 2005 and Crystal Reports XI. I tried to export my report to Excel in Crystal Reports XI, File - Export - Export Report and I can see my reports in Excel (Data Only) the way I want to see them. My problem is when I call my report from my Web Application using VS 2005 and SQL 2005 database, and export my report to excel using the report viewer, it looks different....Is there any way I can use the Excel set up in Crystal Reports...meaning same look what I saw when I tried to export in Crystal reports???...or is there any functions that I forgot to enable??..if this should be done in a code, can you show me or send me a code????..Please.. need your help!  Thank you much!!!!

You have that button where you need to click and the select the output format:

    How to export report to excel?
    And, it takes long time for generate report to rtf or pdf file in previewer.
    How to speed up the process? or, it's better generate report to text file directly by Run_product?
    Please help!

    You can generate report to tab delimite format that can be imported to excel.
    As for the performance question, because reports can't specify what format when you run against previewer, so I don't know what previewer you are talking about. Generate to file is always faster than to your application previewer (assume) because you have one more step after output generated in the file: read from file and render it. Depends on the render and size of the output, it may have significant performance difference.

  • Issue while exporting report in Excel Format

    I am facing problem while exporting the report in Excel Format. After analysis, I think that it could be due to two reasons, either we are using wrong versions of Jars, or we are using wrong API. Here is the code, approaches and problems we are facing. Please help.
    First approach we are using is:
    // using basic API
    import com.crystaldecisions.reports.sdk.ReportClientDocument;
    // get client document from crystal report API and open the report by specifying the report name, with path
                   ReportClientDocument reportClientDoc = new ReportClientDocument();
          reportPath, 0 );
                   // give chance to extending classes to configure the report document by POJO or by sql parameter etc, just adding the parameters infromation using ParameterFieldController
                   configureReportDocument( reportClientDoc, reportMetadata, reportData, reportContext );
                   // get data source of crystal report
                   Object reportSource = reportClientDoc.getReportSource();
                   // export the data - we have also tried with MSExcel format
                   ReportExportFormat exportFormat =  ReportExportFormat.recordToMSExcel;
                   LOGGER.debug( "exportFormat[" + exportFormat + "]" );
                   ByteArrayInputStream byteArray = (ByteArrayInputStream) reportClientDoc.getPrintOutputController().export(
                             exportFormat );
    Problem Faced: Specified Excel format is not supported.
    Second Approach: We come to know that excel format is supported with new releases and with occa package.
    Then we tried with import; It ask to set the ReportServer. When we are trying to set the server as
    Application is unable to find 'ReportClientDocument.inprocConnectionString' property. It seems like we are using some old jars. However we have downloaded the latest released jars for eclipse 2.
    Please help for it. Issue is to export the report in excel format, which is currently working fine for PDF. If this problem is related to Jars, please suggest the path to download the latest jars. We also looking for the latest jars like rasapp and rascore etc. But these are not available with Crystal Report for Eclipse 2 release.
    Waiting for urgent help. Thanks you..

  • Historical Report - export report in excel format

    We are on UCCX 8.0 (SU2). We have an issue with Historical when we tried to export report in excel format, the report does not display in correct column. It's very confusing. We could manually correct (rearrange) the column label but it take lots of time as we have so many reports.
    Is there anyway to fix this issue? Does anyone experience the same issue with Historical Report?
    I attached the pictures for example.

    This type of behavior is a bug. I took a look in the bug toolkit and there are several defects filed against the Agent Summary report in 8.0 but not one that matches this behavior. I would venture a guess that a DE was sloppy when fixing another bug and introduced this on us.
    You should open a TAC case on this. It is also possible that this defect already exists but is not public in the toolkit yet.

  • Exporting report to Excel format

    We try to implement automated export to Excel Format but Crystal Report XI Java runtime doesnu2019t support export to Excel Format but pdf.
    Do I need to migrate to Crystal Report Eclipse 2.0 for exporting report in Excel format?
    Or I can deploy the Crystal Report Eclipse 2.0 Java runtime only for exporting to Excel Format?

    As I know, you can easily export the data from an MS Access Report to Excel, but it's really hard to get the formats exported along with the data, or just not doable at all.
    Please see these links:
    Also, keep in's easy to export the data from a report to Excel.  You can certainly setup Excel as a template, which has all the formatting applied and just sits on your disk drive...somewhere...waiting for you to dump new data into it from
    a new report...whenever you need it.
    Knowledge is the only thing that I can give you, and still retain, and we are both better off for it.

  • How to export report IN CSV format through JAVA.

    how to export report in csv format.when try to export in csv format.its exporting into csv but report not containing column heading , report heading and it showing all the data in a single line.we have integrated the reports with java.

    Use a Java API which can create PDF files based on some collection of plain vanilla Java objects (List, String, Number, etc).
    Google can find them all. Just feed it with something like "Java PDF API" or so. A commonly used one is iText.
    That said, when talking about this in JSP context, ensure that you do NOT write raw Java code in JSP files using scriptlets. Raw Java code belongs in Java classes. In such case you need a Servlet. In JSP just use taglibs and EL to interact with backend Java code and data. Scriptlets are discouraged since over a decade.

  • How to export page to excel

    Hi all,
    I want to export complete page to excel and pdf format.
    Can anybody give me the step by step procedure to export the page to excel and pdf format.
    thnks in advance

    Hi Mani,
    Printing to PDFs: []
    You can export reports to Excel (there's a option to do this on the report's attributes - export as CSV). Exporting an entire page to Excel probably wouldn't work - you'd need the equivalent of File/Save As from the browser menu as save the entire page as HTML. But, then, HTML pages are generally opened in either a browser or Word anyway

  • How to export report output into excel file

    hi friends,
    i would like to get the solution from you for how to export the report output into a .xls file. i know how to convert it into .rtf and .txt files but i think it's difficult to do this .xls way, could you help me to comeover this problem?
    thankyou very much.

    The official answer is "delimited", which
    generates adequate comma or other delimited
    text. No formatting, and without extra
    effort no support for non-ASCII characters.
    Might be sufficient for you.
    Note that Excel can read html files - we
    built programs to generate html files with
    name of "blah.xls" and some Excel-ish
    extensions, so Excel is automatically opened
    and the document is all nice and pretty.
    (Oracle html output has some odd logic about
    choosing number of columns, we didn't use
