How to Generate Information Errors in Generic Extractor Function Module

Hi, In my Generic Extractor logic I am reaching out to an additional table to get a field. I would like to produce an informational error or red error in the process monitor if I'm unable to get the field. Is this possible? How can I generate these messages in the Extractor Function Module?

Delta loading through Generic extractor - function module not found

Hi,
I'm working on a BW3.5 system and we have some generic delta FM extractors. One of these is called ZBW_CONF_DELTA and the FM is also called ZBW_CONF_DELTA. It is a delta-enabled extractor. Whenever an extraction is done in the init delta mode, the data gets picked up from SAP.
However, whenever we load subsequent deltas, the extractor brings zero records. When I look in the SM37 logs in R/3, it says "Function module /BIC/QIZBW_CONF_DELTA0001 does not exist"
I'm not sure where the "/BIC/QIZBW_CONF_DELTA0001" function module name came from, because I haven't given it like that (if I did, the init load would also have failed).
Due to this problem, I'm unable to perform any delta loads. Is there anything I could be doing to fix this?

Hi,
First check how extractor works in R/3 side using RSA3
Make a full load.
Now check the generic delta field of your generic extractor, lets say changed on date.
Do the SAP transaction ( take help from some Functional COnsultant ) to update that delta field. Note that record.
Now if u do the delta load with same extractor, you are suppose to get that record.
If not then there is some problem with FM or extracor.
Let me know what happens.

To upload the file , you can try a standard program "RSEPSFTP" .
while you execute the program , a selection screen appears in which the inputs should be give as
RFC destination - The target server name
FTP command- PUT
local file - your file name
local directory - path of your local file
remote file - your target file name
remote directory - where it has to be stored

hi there....
make sure that the Processing type in Attributes tab is 'Normal function module'. Also chk the general data, it must be having some name in the Program Name and include name column.try checking the program names in se38, if the program is of type include or not. you can also chk by writting a program call the function module and test it
I hope this will solve the query. in my case, SAPLZ123 is the program name and LZ123U28 is the include name.
or
Its common prob with Function module.
Goto SE80->Give Function group name->Right click on it->Activate.

I am new to this forum...
Please can anyone tell me how to Create Customer by BAPI or by Function Module.....?
I have tried many of the function modules posted in the threads.. but it couldn't help me out...

Note that when an IDoc exists, it is often possible to call the function module that is just behind it (see WE57 transaction). SAP would not support that direct call, but if you need to contact SAP support about an issue, you can create the IDoc manually and there's no reason that this issue doesn't arise.
The only difference with the IDocs is that you don't have any IDoc stored in the database, and even no log in database (so you won't be able to see anything in WE02, etc.).
Note that it is important to know if this function module does a database commit or not: you can look at the BDFG transaction (I assume there's no BAPI related as it is the initial assumption of my post) to see if IDoc packet processing is allowed or not: if packet processing is allowed, there's no database commit in the function module, otherwise there's one.

How to reduce long extraction time - Generic extractor based on view

Hello. The previous thread about this error was closed without any answer.
I'm in the same configuration.
"Using a generic extractor (Delta enabled on confirmation date) based on view to load data from ECC6 to BI.
Now my issue is that the delta extraction is running for a long time (around 1 hr) even if the data volume is very small
While checking the job overview in source system i saw that the job is hanging at the below step for almost 1 hr."
1 LUWs confirmed and 1 LUWs to be deleted with function module MF RSC2_QOUT_CONFIRM_DATA.
I am not understanding why this is happening.

following the note and the other thread, I've check the index 4 of the table COEP.
Here is what I got:

Is the fact that it doesn't exist in the database a problem ?
Is the fact that it is active is good enough ?

Data error with generic extractor

Hi Friends!
I have a generic extractor based on view z_customer
The view is easy:
table: KNVP
fields: KUNNR, KUNN2, PARVW, MANDT
conditions: PARVW eq 'RG'
When I check the table (SE16) with customer 'X', show me only one record,
but when I run the extractor (RSA3) show me four records.
- What is wrong in my view? Perhaps something relative with the client (MANDT)?

It's not mandatory that you must include MANDT field in view.
check check the number of records in the created view, not in the table.
If the number of records matches in view with RSA3, then it is fine.

Hello Vijaya,
Incase of BAPI's they have a return table parameter T_RETURN. Just read that return table to get the error message.
Incase of normal function modules, there will be exceptions raised for the message used inside the function module. Just read the sy-subrc after the FM and based on the sy-subrc value find the respective exception raised.
May be you can try like this, whenever the message is raised it will be stored in the system variable.
CALL FM.
check for the system variables.
sy-msgid = Message ID of the latest message raised.
sy-msgno = message number of the latest message raised.
sy-msgty = message type of the latest message raised.
sy-msgv1 = variable1 of the latest message raised.
sy-msgv2 = variable2 of the latest message raised.
sy-msgv3 = variable3 of the latest message raised.
sy-msgv4 = variable4 of the latest message raised.

For function module means.. you have to create function module. in RSAX..in R/3 side
and you want to extract data using Query means...you have to create Infoset query in (SQ01,SQ02,SQO3) IN r/3 Side

I defined the exception 'no_value_found' in the function module, now, the problem is how to catach it in the program calling it

    I have used sy-subrc to handle it in the program, howerver, it is still encounter runtime error:
Error message -
A RAISE statement in the program "SAPLZERC" raised the exception
condition "NO_OBJECT_INFO_FOUND".
Since the exception was not intercepted by a superior
program, processing was terminated.
Short description of exception condition:
No object information found
For detailed documentation of the exception condition, use
Transaction SE37 (Function Library). You can take the called
function module from the display of active calls.
Errors is at following position:----
39   ELSE.
>>     RAISE NO_OBJECT_INFO_FOUND.
41   ENDIF.

Problem with Generic Extratcor - Function Module

Hi Experts,
We have created Generic Extractor using Funcion Module to Load Inventory related data into BW.When we check in Extract Checker its show 330 records.When we check in table for that logic by material we got the same records as 330.The problem is when we extract into BW we are getting more then 695,000 records.Can somebody please tell us where the problem is .Thanks

Hi,
Check in the load monitor, how many records are populated from source system, and how many are populated after transfer and update rules. Maybe there is your problem, not in the extractor but in the transfer/update.

How to do ALV Popup in a new Function module

This is the Client Requirement.
" Flow Diagram/Pseudo Code:
Attach a data flow diagram. Write brief pseudo code in plain English. Be sure to include all access data plans.
-     FM interface:
-     Import: company code/ vendor#.
-     Export: default_line, type y4ap_t11
-     Exception: NO_DATA or CANCELED
In the FM code, past current z_venddefault code, except for write statements. After internal table is generated, show it in ALV popup. On ALV, add a OK/Cancel button. On OK, ensure that one line is selected (otherwise throw warning), and then fill export structure with that lines G/L account, cost Center, and internal order# fields. Then close the ALV and end FM. For Cancel, just close the ALV end the FM.
For an example of how to build such popup ALVs, take a look at FM Y4AP_SELECT_APPROVER.
Unit Test Plan:
Just use co.code 3000/vend# 1000 to test this FM."
here i need to do is there is a simple report program by displaying in list.
But now i need to do is , i have to put that code in a new function module and there i need to display it in alv grid.
How to do this can anybody help me.

While inputting the parameters for the function module I have given RECN In the input field TRANS. Requesting you to please kindly suggest.

please try the following.
1. Create a contract manually in the system
2. Use BAPI_RE_CN_GET_DETAIL to show how the fields and structures are filled.
3. Check and change the parameters for BAPI_RE_CN_CREATE accordingly.
