Get-WindowsFeature "*msmq*"
#Install the features with the names get from above cmdlet
Install-WindowsFeature -Name "FeatureName"

True the only way to buy Foundation Server is pre-installed by an OEM. However as a MSDN developer who needs to test software functionality on Foundation Server there must be a way to install it from the MSDN image. I was hoping it was like the
other server installs where depending on which key you gave the installer it would install the corresponding version (ie. Standard or Enterprise) But the install on the en_windows_storage_server_2012_r2_and_windows_server_2012_r2_foundation_with_update_x64_dvd_4119206.iso
will only accept a
storage server key and will not accept a foundation server key.

Hi. I installed Hyper-v server 2012 R2 on a Toshiba running windows 8.1 64bit and now I can not go back to windows 8.1. Every time i start the computer it asks for my password and opens system32/cmd.exe and sconfig.cmd consoles

Did the Toshiba come with Windows 8.1 preinstalled? If yes it possibly has the recovery partition in place that you would use for recovery. I'm assuming if it was an accident then you did the in-place upgrade procedure.
Look at your Toshiba documentation for the procedure to restore.
If you want to add Hyper-V to windows 8.1 in the future, you use programs and features. Then turn the feature on.

Cannot revert to Windows 8 after installing Hyper-V Server 2012 R2

I own a laptop with a pre-installed Windows 8. I've installed Hyper-V Server 2012 R2 on top of it by mistake, and now I would like to get rid of it and revert it back to Windows 8. I've tried doing so by a backup USB, though it doesn't seem to work. Is there
anyway to do this without having to use a disc? I haven't received one when I bought it.

Assuming your rig can support virtual machines, you can use Hyper-V and run another OS there.
Better practice however is to use a dedicated machine and use remote desktop to the server.

I just spent 24 hours trying to research this problem. This has affected every product I want to use that interfaces to MS SQL Server 2012. My development machine is in need of recovery. I de-installed my old products and I have to recover
from backups. Every new product (2012 and 2013) I downloaded had failed on this ERROR when it touches a SQL Server install or some VC Redistributable kit;

, for one reason or another (SqlSupport.msi).

issue. Because the installs actually work on my non-development machines that have little software installed.
It needs a cleanup routine, and a simple straight forward install routine. I found someone who reported this a bug and I am looking forward to a solution.

This is because you are looking at wrong place. Yes you need to go to add remove program but when you open that page there is no information about SP/CU updates. On top left side you need to click on
View installed updates and different screen would come there you can find SQL Server 2012 SP2
