How to make fields in field group as text fields in ABAP query

Hi friends,
I a have a ABAP query 85 corresponding to infoset A205,
there is a field group in the infoset A205 and it contains some fields
but some of the fields are made as text fields ................i want to know how to make these fields in
the field group as text fields.
there is a small icon " T " on the field when it is made as a text field .
Please help me

IF you can specify which Field Catalog then it will be useful for us to provide appropriate answer.
1. For Customer Master
IMG> Financial Accounting New> Acs Recev and Acs Payable --> Customer Accounts --> Master Data --> Preperation of creating customer master Data --> Define Account Groups with screen layout (customers)
In that you can create your own account group, and click Details Screen.
There will Field Status header within that are listed three main areas
General data
Company code data
Sales data
When you double click these lines it will take you into "Status Group" Overview. Wherein under "Select Group" are listed fields Address, communiucation.... Double click on one group , you will bet aken into the group field wherein you will find 4 colums with indicators assigned to it. ( Suppress, Req. Entry, Opt Entry, Display) you can choose the required option. "Req. Entry" against the field. Click save after you complete your selections.
2. Similarly you can do for Material Master in
IMG --> Logistics General --> Material Master --> Field Selection --> Maintain Field Selection for Data Screens
But be careful when you do it for material master as it is cuts across all the modules...

How does APEX check for null values in Text Fields on the forms? This might sound trivial but I have a problem with a PL/SQL Validation that I have written.
I have one select list (P108_CLUSTER_ID) and one Text field (P108_PRIVATE_IP). I made P108_CLUSTER_ID to return null value when nothing is selected and assumed P108_PRIVATE_IP to return null value too when nothign is entered in the text field.
All that I need is to validate if P108_PRIVATE_IP is entered when a P108_CLUSTER_ID is selected. i.e it is mandatory to enter Private IP when a cluster is seelcted and following is my Pl/SQL code

My problem is it is returning FALSE for all the cases.It works fine in SQL Command though..When I tried to Debug and use Firebug, I found that Text fields are not stored a null by default but as empty strings "" . Now I tried modifying my PL/SQL to check Private_IP against an empty string. But doesn't help. Can someone please tell me how I need to proceed.

How can I limit numeric codes in a text field?

How can I limit numeric codes in a text field? For example I want to list Industry SIC codes and I want to block someone from inputting an exlcuded industry code.

We don't offer that type of input restriction for a text field.
Can you create a list of all allowed codes and use a Drop Down menu or Single/multiple Choice field?

When you add a new document JavaScript (Advanced > Document Processing > Document JavaScripts > Script Name (enter something) > Add), you will be given a function skeleton by default. Just delete it and enter the line of code I showed above. Now, whenever the document is opened, the code will get triggered and the field will be updated with the current date. There is no "Document Open" action (at least that's accessible via Acrobat's UI), but this is effectively the same thing since any document-level JavaScripts are executed when the document is opened.

How can I merge 3 or more individual text fields into an editable summary text field?

I am stuck and do not know where to begin. I am self taught in using Adobe LiveCycle and have found many answers here in the forums and via trial and error.
I cannot find or create the correct java script or form calc to feed multiple text fields into one text field. My supervisor is asking me to do this for two sections of a form I created using Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2.
1) Merge all 3 user entered text fields to an user editable summary text field at the end of the form.
2) Merge all 24 user entered text fields to an user editable summary text field at the end of the form.
Since they are all individual text fields in response to various questions, I cannot use the global binding function. I do not want the summary text field to override the individual text fields.
Here is the java scripting I placed on Show: calculate* Language: javascript Run: at client
1) PDStrengthWeaknessComments.rawValue + "_" + OCStrengthWeaknessComments.rawValue + "_" + CEBAStrengthWeaknessComments.rawValue;
Needless to say, these instructions are not working on my form. Would someone with a lot of experience or an IT degree kindly help me?

How to make a subform not print if the fields are empty

I'm once again working on that kind of client form where our agents fill in a bunch of fields on our forms and I only want those fields that are pertinent to that client to print out and I've grouped the fields that go together into separate subforms.
There are date fields and currency fields that relayout to floating fields in hidden blocks of text that appear when the last text field is exited, ie:
Subform1 "On 5/14/12 your application was approved. We will pay $100 to your account"
Subform2 "On 5/14/12 we received your application. We will need further information before you claim for $250 can be approved" etc. Obviously, both of these subforms cannot appear on the letter.
Jono gave me a great solution for not printing checkboxes that are not checked with a preprint script which worked perfectly and I tried to adapt that to the subforms but alas my skills are lacking. I tried just putting it in each fill in field but then the blocks of text still remained.
So basically I don't want the subforms that have empty fields to print.
I'd appreciate any help that can be offered.

I think that the logic/script should be placed in the area where the user either approves or rejects the claim. This would avoid a prePrint script to check if fields are empty or not.
If you are stuck with checking if fields are empty on prePrint, then you would just need to check the relevant fields one at a time or use a loop.

How to make use of the 'Groups' in Screen Layout?

I have a screen with 10 input fields (F1, F2, .. F10).
I set the 'Groups' attribute in the screen layout to 'DIS'.
How could I make use of this 'Groups' attribute so that when I loop the screen, I will only disable fields with the 'Groups' attribute set to 'DIS'? Thanks
I tried the following codes, but it's not working:

It says ==> The data object 'SCREEN' does not have a component called 'GROUPS'.

In the Attributes of a screen field, there is an attribute called "Groups". This has 4 options for input (4 text boxes)
SCREEN has 4 fields GROUP1, GROUP2, GROUP3 and GROUP4.
The first text box under Groups attribute corresponds to SCREEN-GROUP1,
2nd text box for SCREEN-GROUP2
3rd text box for SCREEN-GROUP3
4th text box for SCREEN-GROUP4

How do I display array values in a text field?

I have a small Flash movie I'm trying to complete, it's my
first go around with Flash 8 so I appreciate your patience:
I built an array with some actionscript which seems to work
fine (I can trace it and all is well in the trace window). Now I'm
simply trying to display it to my Flash movie screen and I've built
a dynamic text window which is working, except that I only ever get
the last array element to appear in the dynamic text window. I've
traced the code and see all of my array values, but when I use
"myResults_txt.text=picker_array;" I only see the last position's
value in my array. I tried playing with the "multiline" attribute
for the text field, it didn't seem to make any difference.
I'm sure it's probably something silly that I've missed, but
how do you display an array, with all of it's values to a dynamic
text field (I even tried using the textArea component but ran into
the same problem).

Thanks for your input. I tried just about everything but
ended up re-writing the contents of the array to a var and looping
through the var. Not my first choice but it got me to done.

Action:
1. config the ADS successfully.
2. create the adobe form with a mult-line textfield(binding the 'remark' context in the interface of the form) using sfp.
3. create a WDA for invoke the form and transfer the 'remark' context data.
I use the following codes to display the paragraph in the PDF document:

If it is just a one word value then you could use this in the exist event;
this.rawValue
= util.printx(">?<*",this.rawValue);
This changes the first character (represented by the ?) to uppercase (represented by the >) and all trailing characters (represented by the *) to lowercase (represented by the <).
If you wanted something more general ... if they could also enter a middle name then you could call a function like;
function toTitleCase(textValue)
return textValue.toLowerCase().replace(/\b[a-z]/g, function replacer(match) { return match.toUpperCase(); });
This uses a regex to change all lowercase letters following a word boundary to uppercase.

How do I use Javascript to populate a text field based on a selection from a drop down box?

I have virtually no experience with JavaScript and I am trying to figure out how to add some basic automation features to an Adobe form. I have a drop down box called "Hospital_Name" that will contain approximately 7 possible selections. When the user makes a selection, I would like to have the text field (called "Hospital_Address") below the drop down box populate with the corresponding address for the selection. I have the "Hospital_Address" text field configured for multiple lines and would like the address to have a line break between the street address and the city/state/zip.
For example, if the user selected "Hospital 1", the text field would display:
123 Main St
Anytown, CA 12345
Any help or examples you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

This is not a beginners task but requires a fair amount of knowledge about the structure of objects, defining strings, and structure of arrays.
Are you sure you have all the field names correctly spelled and capitalized?
Do you get any error in the JavaScript console?
Just trying the line that defines the "Location", I get the following error:
SyntaxError: invalid property id
1:Console:Exec
undefined
All the form field in a PDF are processed by using JavaScript and any error in any script will stop JavaScript processing.
It might help to have a link to the problem form.

Does anyone know how to make a solid change the scale parameter automatically when the layer above it goes longer / shorter then it? I got this working with the following expression:

The Problem:
it resizes from the middle out. I need the text justified left (which it is not, because then it is not lined up and if I drag the shape layer over to line it up as I add text it still goes from the middle out and does not completly cover the whole text) and have this expression change only the length of the box below on the right side and keep the left justified.
Any Ideas?

I have a text field of first_name and one of last_name. I want to make sure not matter what format the user inputs the the first letter is Capitalized and the rest is lower case. Can someone tell me how this is done? Thanks!

It depends on what you want to do with the name. If this is for inserting the name in a database and you're using PHP, it's very simple:
$name = 'DaVID';
$formatted = ucfirst(strtolower($name));
echo $formatted; // outputs 'David'
This nests two functions: the inner function, strtolower(), converts everything to lowercase, and the outer function, ucfirst(), converts the first letter to uppercase.

How to display a record count in a text field?

I am trying to return a record count of a query and place that count in a text field on my search page in APEX. I have that text field defined under Items on the search page. How do I get a query record count to display in my text field?

Thank you for your reply and yes I was able to select "Source Type" and "SQL Query". The SQL expression I used was:
SELECT COUNT(ID) FROM master_table;
This worked great to count the total number of records from the master_table. However what I am trying to do is to get a record count each time I complete a search from my search page. I have input fields on this page and a GO button which executes the query. The SQL query is location in one place under Regions/Display Point. My display field on my search page is named P16_COUNT2 and I was trying to make this work inside the main query code. I tryed something like this, COUNT(ID) INTO :P16_COUNT2, to pass the record count each time I execute the GO botton to P16_COUNT2 field. This I could not get to work. Any ideas how to proceed?

How can I change the content of a text field in a PDF form with a defined variable?

Hello all!
First time poster, and getting pretty frustrated with trying to figure out this one issue. Here is the scenario: I am using Acrobat 10 Pro to design what is essentially a giant order form. I designed the document in InDesign, defined the various buttons and whatnot and then exported it to Acrobat to continue building the form.
I have a Radio Button group called "conference_opportunities" which contains different options at different price points, so they are all named the same, but have different values (so that they belong to the same group and only one can be selected at a time).
What I have done is created a "MouseDown" event on the radio button that sets a variable called "ConferenceOpportunity" which is equal to the title of the option they are picking. I then want to take that variable and display it in a text box called "Conference_Option". I am using a variable because the values of my radio buttons are all the actual prices of the option they are picking, so I can't define the value as the title of the option.
So its an array of radio buttons, and at the bottom of the page there is the Option They Selected, the quantity (which can change) and the value (in dollars)
I also then want to display this variable at the end of the document as a sort of summary of everything they chose to purchase as well but I imagine its the same code.
I am not an expert Javascript person at all, so any code snippets would help greatly. I have looked over the Adobe Document on the SDK and API and have not been able to find a solution. I have also turned to the almighty google and still no luck.

All you now have to do is use that variable to the value property of your text field... So add this at the end of your code:
this.getField("Conference_Option").value = ConferenceOpportunity;
Also, I would use MouseUp, not MouseDown.
