How to read doc/docx/pdf/jpg files in objective-c?

Hi am new to  objective-c,here want to read the files from the directory i know how to read the text file but what i need is to read the doc/docx/pdf/jpg files to read,i don't know how to read these files in objective-c if anyone knows about this please help me,
thanks in advance.

The same way. You will get a load of binary idata, and you have to handle that yourself. .. What, are you expecting libraries to read and somehow convert a .docx document to your taste? You need to look up what 'file format' means.
(Oh alright, there /may/ be a standardized way in OS X to read a jpg and convert it into something OS X can use without you having to know the specifics.)

    Instead of cross-posting unformatted code you could have taken a look at the API, because there you might have come across a method named getLinks...Even though it's not documented, I really suspect that it will return the Hyperlinks on a given page.

    I have created 1 file upload UI and than when i do browse and select some file say small.jpg from my local PC, desktop , its path is coming in file upload UI like E:\small.jpg,
    I want to know how to get this path in java webdynpro code.

    Hi Satyam,
    In webdynpro java, first file stores in server location then it reads from server.
    Create a button with upload and write this code OnAction
    Resource is the attribute name in context of type com.sap.ide.webdynpro.uielementdefinitions.Resource, this attribute is for Resource property for Upload UI Element.
    Then in OnAction of button
    InputStream text = null;

  • How can I convert a PDF/A file into a PDF file with Acrobat Pro X?

    How can I convert a PDF/A file into a PDF file with Acrobat Pro X? I'd like to modifiy the file which I have only as a PDF/A.

    There's two answers if you want to modify the file:
    You can temporarily turn off PDF/A Mode in your preferences, so they don't open as read-only. The problem would be if you do something to the file that violated the PDF/A standard, so you should always run a Preflight check afterwards to make sure.
    If you want to remove the PDF/A header tag, use Preflight again - it's on the Print Production Panel in Acrobat X Pro (which may be hidden, use the options menu on the Tools Pane to show it). There's a profile called "Remove PDF/A information" - choose this and press Analyze and Fix. Nothing else about the file will be altered but when you save and reopen it all the editing tools will become active.

  • Converion of Doc,Docx,pdf,odt to Html

    Hi,
    I have a requirement like conversion of  Doc,Docx,pdf,odt to Html  without any lose of format ,then storing html content into database.
    can any one suggest is there any open source tool for achieving this.
    it is very urgent please reply as soon as possible.

    Hi
    Rajesh,
    #Convert Docx to HTML:
    Using  PowerTools for Open XML just released a new HtmlConverter module that contains an open source.
    For more details, please refer to the following link.
    http://openxmldeveloper.org/blog/b/openxmldeveloper/archive/2014/01/30/transform-docx-to-html-css-with-high-fidelity-using-powertools-for-open-xml.aspx
    #Convert Pdf to HTML:
    c# converting pdf to html [closed]
    #Convert Odt to HTML:
    Convert ODT to HTML Command Line
    By the way, If you need to be able to perform operations like find and copy/pasting text. I would suggest converting the document to a .pdf, and displaying it inline, in whichever standard pdf viewer the client machine has installed.
    Best regards,
    Kristin

  • How to read MG1, MGU, SG1, SGU files?

    I have copies of Band in a Box and Aebersold music software, from an older PC.
    How to read MG1, MGU, SG1, SGU files on my MacBook Air?
    Many thanks, Antoine

    I believe in Linux/Unix, everything is treated as a file descriptor, be it a disk, socket, hardware device or an actual file. Since Java will simply call the appropriate method (length() for example) on the descriptor, I would imagine it would be up to the operating system to determine what to return. If I ask for the length() of a socket, I'm not sure what it would return. The bytes not flushed in the buffer? Total transmitted? Some random uid? I'm sure it is defined somewhere but the behavior may not be what you expect. See if you can use a 'vanilla' command-line method to get the file length from that device. If it too returns zero, you know it's not your program.

  • I have 1000  photos in an iPhoto Library that won't import into Photos because it says the metadata can't be read.  Yet those JPG files open just fine in iPhoto, GraphicConverter, et al.  What gives?

    I have 1000  photos in an iPhoto Library that won't import into Photos because it says the metadata can't be read.  Yet those JPG files open just fine in iPhoto, GraphicConverter, et al.  Any thoughts?

    It’s part of the basic install of OS X. So unless you deleted it then it’s there in your apps folder. If you have deleted it, it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. You will be able to extract the installation package using Pacifist.
    Alternatively, if you’re using almost any camera +apart from a Canon+ then the camera card is visible on the desktop and you can drag the movie to the desktop using the Finder and import from there.
    No matter what camera you use, if you pop the card from it into a USB Card Reader then it will be accessible via the Finder. Card Readers are inexpensive and all round a better idea.
    Why use a Card Reader?
    Because it’s safer: Less risk of your images being lost if your camera shuts down during transfer.
    Because it saves the battery on your camera
    Because it saves wear and tear on your camera ports
    Because it’s almost always faster.

  • How to read contents of a property file sequentially

    hello all,
    please can any one tell me how to read contents of a property file sequentially.
    i saw most of the classes provided by JAVA API, which get All keys and there return type is enumeration which dosent preserve , or may the getKeys() method of those classes do not preserve the sequential order.
    Kindly do let me know if anyone has done this before.
    Thanks.

    The best solution is that you redesign your program so that it does not depend on the order of the entries in the properties file.
    If you really want to stay with your design, you will have to read the properties file yourself, line by line, just like you would read any other text file, and parse the content of each line yourself.
    BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new FileReader("stuff.properties"));
    String line;
    while ((line = in.readLine()) != null) {
        // Parse the line, use e.g. String.split() to split it around the '='
    in.close();

    but for some reason images are invisible until I write absolute paths?(I use windows) How can I write relative path in File, ImageIcon objects?

    Hello;
    I've found a lot of complaints about this through the Forte forum as well as on Dejanews. I'm just curious as to whether any of you ended up finding a solution to this problem.
    There was one posting about setting up the subdirectory as a URL rather than a String and then using that as the source of the ImageIcon ... but this didn't work for me.
    Any help whatsoever would be appreciated.

  • How to improve the resolution of jpg files in a pdf created from html

    I have a document in html that I need to convert to pdf. If I open the html in acrobat, the images look fine, almost the same as if I open the file in a browser. If I do "create pdf from web page", the jpg files imbedded in the html look terrible in the resulting pdf. Where can I adjust the resolution settings so that the jpg images look better in the pdf?
    I need to use "create pdf from web page" because I need access to the options to change the page size, margins, and header/footer, which I can't seem to find when I just open an html file and save as pdf, etc.
    LHH_enc

    Do you have a particular URL that we can look at to see where the problem might be? As far as adusting margins and such from your browser, those would be in the browser print settings to provide that option. You also would need to check possibly to use the Print or Press settings file to get better graphic resolution. The settings file selection may also be important if you use PDF Maker in one of the browsers that use PDF Maker.

    Well, the ability to convert the pdf to html and then to PDF is a worthy solution.
    10,000 emails would require a batch convert solution.
    This is very much beyond what I know. I'll have to leave this to better minds.
    I could suggest a third party tool. Have a look at this:
    http://a-pdf.com/faq/can-i-split-pdf-file-with-nonstandard-page-size.htm
    Other than that,I can't think of anything else.
