I am trying to figure out what the wifi password is for the printer

When i open up my settings on my galaxy s5 and scan for the wifi connections the printer shows up but its asking for a password. How do i find out what the password is. Can you please help me out i  would appreciate it. Thanks also it's an android phone as i mentioned earlier (Samsung galaxy s5)

 If you are printing to your home network, this is likely the wireless password to your network - the password you use to access your router, for example. How to find your wireless network password Additional Help:Add Device to Printer See Section titled > Mobile Device / iPad gets an App >>News for Android, Samsung Galaxy Note, HP Slate SeriesWhen you see a Post that helps you,Inspires you, provides fresh insight,Or teaches you something new,Click the "Thumbs Up" on that Post. Click my Answer Accept as Solution to help others find Answers.

  • Lumia 920: Still trying to figure out what the pro...

    Aside from being very upset about Nokia's not allowing updates for the unbranded 920s, I'm still trying to figure out what the problem is with my camera...
    I had nearly a perfect working phone one and a half week ago. Even though the battery didn't last well and heated up somehow and there are gliches with some apps, the phone and its original apps worked without problem. Once the battery died in the middle of the night but I thought that it was because I didn't plug the charger well enough, it's a little loose anyway. I read about the freezes and restarts in different forums and was wondering what people were talking about, since I didn't have any such kind of problems. I felt myself being lucky.
    Then I got some app updates (Nokia drive+ and a few others), and ever since then my camera hasn't worked properly. When I open the camera app or click the camera button nine out of ten times it just goes back to the home screen or else it freeze the phone. I have tried soft resets and restarts but they mostly don't work, or they might work long enough to take a couple of photos and then stop working, or otherwise it freeze the phone and need to soft reset it. There is no pattens as to when it works and when it doesn't. I have also tried to uninstall some apps but it seemed to have no effect on the condition of the phone. Every app that utilizes the camera won't work ( camera won't work but other functions work), flashlight app won't work.
    Today I decided to hard reset the phone. It's surprisingly easy procedure that took less than 10 min. I did my first hard reset and chose to use my phone's backup files from Skydrive and it went fine, except it didn't do anything to the camera, i.e. it didn't work. My second hard reset I chose to "start from clean table" (or something of such) without any apps installed, and also disabled the automatic update but it didn't do anything either, no working camera. I did the same procedure once more just in case I did something wrong, but it didn't work. The fourth hard reset I restored from Skydrive to have (mostly) everything in order. No working camera either but almost everything else works now.
    It puzzles me. I'd though that if the reason of camera not working is some app updates then start from the clean table would have resloved it. Even after hard reset using camera at the very first possible chance didn't succeed: it worked for a very short moment before it froze the phone, just like before resetting. If I can keep myself from touching the camera the phone itself works (aside from maybe once or twice restartd itself, very rarely anyway). Now I have a phone with a camera I can't use and I don't have a clue what the problem is. I don't think that there are hardware problems because the camera *worked*, and I don't believe that software updates can break it hardware-wise. I have thought of changing it but who can promise that I'll get a phone that works better. Probably I should wait for Microsoft's/Nokia's updates, it just feels like they never come...

    hi mate,
    Sorry to hear you are having such a rough time with your 920. In this case, it might be best to take your phone back to your point of purchase and ask for a replacement, and if they are being less than helpful, to take it to your local Nokia Care point instead: http://nokia.com/support
    I can certainly empathise with you, as a lot of the issues you describe are apparently fixed by the Portico update by Microsoft that was released yesterday to AT&T and Rogers devices but not the rest of the Lumia Windows Phone 8 range unfortunately. Bit of a wait, but hopefully not too long until the update hits.

    Oh ok, well that was what the test said prior to reformatting the hard drive. Now, it doesn't find any trouble no matter how many times I run it. That's what has me so confused, everything seems to check out and yet...I can't do anything, not even install the software!

  • I cannot figure out what the "other" is that is taking up space on my iPOD.

    Please help! I am in the process of burning my songs to my iPOD and I noticed when I synced it up that I had alot of orange, "other" stuff taking up space. I have a few television shows and am building up my music files. I cannot figure out what the "other" is. When I clicked the tab for photos, it had 23 photos that it pulled from My Pictures. However, I played around with the settings and it said under "photos," (0). However, it still has space that it is taking up.
    I have alot of music to download and I don't want to have 5.38 bytes of used up space for which I don't know what it is.
    Thanks!
    -Josh

    Other can be album artwork, contacts, notes etc. If you feel that the Other is being incorrectly reported you could try restoring your iPod. Just be aware that restoring will erase the hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings, so if you have songs on your iPod that aren't on iTunes you will lose them if you have no back up. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions and it should connect to iTunes and give you a prompt to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation. If you want to update manually or using selected playlists choose no and it will default to manual mode and you can choose whatever setting you like: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes 7

  • Cant figure out what my keychain password is.

    Hey,
    I didn't set up this computer and I need to figure out what my keychain password is. Every thing finder help tells me to do already requires it.
    Any ideas?
    G5 Dual 1.8   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Hi Justin,
    Changing your keychain password
    You can change the password for your keychain at any time. However, if you want your default keychain to be unlocked automatically when you log in, make sure your keychain password is the same as your Mac OS X login password.
    If your Mac OS X login password is not the same as your default keychain password, you'll be asked for the password whenever an application needs access to your keychain and your keychain is locked.
    Open Keychain Access and select the keychain in the drawer (click Show Keychains if the drawer is closed).
    Choose Edit > "Change Password for Keychain 'login'." (The name of the keychain in the menu matches the name of the selected keychain. If you selected the keychain that unlocks when you log in, the name you see is "login.")
    If the keychain is locked, type the password to unlock it.
    Type the current password for this keychain.
    Type a new password, then type it again to verify.
    Click OK.
    You can use Password Assistant to help you choose a new password. Click the "i" button to see how secure your new password is.
    from keychain access help searched "password for keychain access"
    hope it helps you, Eme

  • Trying to figure out what's using my RAM

    A couple of weeks ago I starting to notice that my memory was getting chewed up slowly until I'd hit around 20MB remaining. the only way that I could free up the space is through 3rd party memory utilities such as FreeMemory. It appears on further inspection memory appears to go inactive, but this isn't very healthy, yet very odd, so I'm trying to figure out if there's a memory leak somewhere.
    Any help would be wonderful. Below is my Etracheck log. I've attempted to remove alll external hard drives and other devices connected via either thunderbolt and USB with no change. Rebooted a few times however the memory gets eaten right up again.
    My initial thought was that it's somehow VMWare however my Windows 7 instance is running at a fixed rate, and even with the instance shut down, my computer would still eat up any available memory.
    Thank you!

    You have waaaaaay, waaaaaay too much software and "garbageware" installed on your Mac!
    Plus, you are treating your Mac too, tooo much like a Windows PC!
    Are you a former WindowsPC user?
    You do not need all of this software crap and "garbageware" you have installed on your Mac.
    How many applications do you run simultaneously in the background while working in another application?
    With 16 GBs of RAM, you should not be experiencing any memory Page out issues. Yet, you have over a GB of memory Page outs!
    You are, probably running tooo many applications at once. You need to cut back the amount of open applications that you have up and running concurrently OR install even MORE RAM!
    Your year and model Mac can take up to 32 GBs of RAM.
    Correct and reliable Mac RAM can be purchased from online Mac RAM sources Crucial memory or OWC (macsales.com).
    Unless you are running Kaspersky antivirus software under your Windows setup, completely uninstall this from OS X per instructions on the developer's website.
    OS X does not need antivirus software. Antivirus software can slow down the normal operation of OS X and have adverse and negative effects on performance and operation of OS X.
    Compleley uninstall CleanMyMac per the instructions on the developer's website.
    http://macpaw.com/support/cleanmymac/knowledgebase/how-to-uninstall-cleanmymac-2
    Again, you have waaaaay toooo many user startup/login items!
    You need to really, REALLY, look at these at determine what you need to have launch at startup or Login.
    You really need to whittle this waaaay down!
    All of these items launching at startup/login is causing a large part of your Mac slowdowns.
    Add or remove automatic items
    Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Users & Groups.
    Select your user account, then click Login Items.
    Do one of the following:
    Click Add below the list on the right, select an app, document, folder, or disk, then click Add.If you don’t want an item’s windows to be visible after login, select Hide. (Hide does not apply to servers, which always appear in the Finder after login.)
    Select the name of the item you want to prevent from opening automatically, then click Delete below the list on the right.
    Google software is ,currently, not 100% compatible/compliant with OS X Mavericks. Especially Google Chrome and Drive.
    So, uninstall all Google software per the instructions on Google's website until Google posts an "official" fix/update for these.
    If you do not like Apple's Safari Web browser, try using Mozilla Firefox, instead. Mozilla constantly updates FireFox and there is a new update available.
    Also, Telestream Flip4Mac plugin is an issue on OS X Mavericks. If there is no Mavericks update for this plugin, then completely unistall this plugin per instructions on the Telestream website. Use the newest version of VLC player, instead.
    Completely Uninstall MacFUSE. There hasn't been any updates for this in a couple of years and is outdated and incompatible with Mavericks. Uninstall per instructions on the developer's website, also.
    You need to update all of your third party software if there are OS X Mavericks updates that can be applied.
    You may need to,ACTUALLY,  go to the third party developers' websites if there are no updates through the Mac App Store.
    Update all of your Web browser Internet plugins, extensions and add ons, also.
    Also, if you have any connected third party devices, like non-Apple keyboards, mice, drawing tablets, hubs, card  readers, etc, you need to go to the device makers' websites' and update the drivers for these devices to OS X Mavericks compatible versions, if available, applicable and needed.
    Good Luck to you!

  • Is there a way to figure out what the current thread is?

    I've got the following snippet of code:
    // create a new thread. If the current thread is not this new thread, return
    Thread CountDownThread = new Thread("CountDownThread");
    CountDownThread.start();
    if (/*CURRENT THREAD*/.getName() != CountDownThread.getName()) {
         System.out.println ("I'm not CountDownThread. I'm leaving.");
         return;
    // current thread should be new thread. Therefore start the countdown
    CurrTime = InitTime;
    while(CurrTime.charAt(0) != '-') {      // go until current time is negative
         CurrTime = C.countDown();       // returns the current time based on the difference between the initial and elapsed time
         setText(CurrTime);                   // display current time in JLabel
    C.reset();
    setText(C.getCurrTime());What I'm trying to do is get a clock (C) to count down and display the time remaining in a JLabel (this snippet is taken from a method within that very JLabel which I'm extending from javax.swing.JLabel). While it's counting down, I'd like for the program to go off and do other things. Therefore, I'm trying to create a new thread that carries out the task of counting down while the original/main thread moves on to do other things.
    Please have a look at the above code and tell me if I'm on the right track. The one thing I don't know how to do is figure out how to tell which thread the current thread is. I'm assuming that both the new thread and original/main one will execute the if statement, the new one after it returns from start() (which I haven't defined). The original/main one will detect that it is not the new thread and return, whereas the new thread will and go on to the while loop. In the while loop, it will count down the clock until it reaches 0, after which point it will reset it and die.
    If I'm on the right track, all I need to know is how to detect which thread is currently executing. If I'm not on the right track, what would be the best way to do this?

    What? No! No Thread terminates on the return of start(). Those two events are unrelated!Uh... I think you misunderstood what I said.
    I didn't say that CountDownThread terminates upon returning from start() (which is what it sounds like you interpreted from me); I said that the thread that CountDownThread creates terminates once CountDownThread returns from start() (i.e. like any other local variable/object). This, of course, assumes that CountDownThread has a Runnable object on which to call its run() method (am I right?), in which case my code above doesn't create a new thread at all (i.e. CountDownThread.start() is executed within the main/original thread) - am I right?
    No, run() doesn't call start()! That would be stupid.Again, you misunderstood. I shouldn't need to explain this one. A simple reference to an ordinary dictionary on the words 'former' and 'latter' should suffice :)
    Anyway, all joking aside, I have now improved my code and it works! Here's what it looks like:
    ClockJLabel.java
    package MazeMania.clock;
    public class ClockJLabel extends javax.swing.JLabel {
    private Clock C;
    private ClockJLabelsRunnable CJLR;
    public ClockJLabel() {
      C = new Clock();
      CJLR = new ClockJLabelsRunnable();
      setText(C.getCurrTime()); // should be 00:00:00:00
      setHorizontalAlignment(javax.swing.SwingConstants.CENTER);
      // need to figure out how to set the size so that it sticks
      setForeground(new java.awt.Color(255, 0, 0));
      setBackground(new java.awt.Color(0, 0, 0));
      setOpaque(true);
    // starts the clock counting up indefinitely from 0
    public void start() {
      (new Thread(new Runnable() {
        public void run() {
         while(true) setText(C.getElapsedTime());
       })).start();
      //System.out.println("Started clock...");
    // starts the clock counting down from an initial time and runs this count down in a separate thread
    public void countDown(String InitTime) {
      // initialize the clock
      try {C.initClock(InitTime);}
      catch(java.text.ParseException PE) {
       System.out.println(PE.getMessage());
      // initialize JLabel's display
      setText(C.getCurrTime());
      // prepare Runnable and give it to new Thread. New Thread starts count down.
      CJLR.task = CJLR.COUNTDOWN;
      CJLR.CJL = this;
      Thread CountDownThread = new Thread(CJLR);
      CountDownThread.start();
    public Clock getClock() {
      return C;
    }ClockJLabelsRunnable
    package MazeMania.clock;
    import java.lang.Runnable;
    class ClockJLabelsRunnable implements Runnable {
    public static int COUNTDOWN = 1;
    public static int COUNTUP = 2;
    // NOTE: this Runnable doesn't test for the proper setting of these variables
    public int task = 0;
    public ClockJLabel CJL = null;
    public void run() {
      Clock C = CJL.getClock();
      while(C.countDown().charAt(0) != '-') {CJL.setText(C.getCurrTime());}
      C.reset();
      CJL.setText(C.getCurrTime());

  • Can't figure out what the problem is, please help!

    Hey, so I have a Mac Mini which I bought nearly 3 years ago. I've been running the latest system 10.6.6, when the issues started. Everything would just unexpectedly quit and occasionally, I'd get the "You need to re-start your computer..." grey screen, also the desktop would refresh itself and not open any folders or anything at all. Finder, Console, Dashboard Client, etc all quit,´and sometimes the nmblookup thing would pop up, but before I could click Allow or Deny, it'd dissappear again.
    I ran the Hardware Test, and four times out of seven it said "No Trouble Found" while three times out of seven it gave me an error code starting with 4MEM. The system profiler, meanwhile, told me that both RAM cards were OK. I did the Hard Drive verification through Utilities and it gave me some problem starting with "Key..." and said it could not be repaired.
    SO, I reformatted the HD as it suggested, deleting everything (I've got it backed up though). Then, I installed Snow Leopard again, and the issues were still present. It would Quit Unexpectedly freeze up, etc. So then I went and erased the hard-drive again, and a new partition was made automatically. After that, I tried installing the original software which came with the computer. Except that after Installation Disk 1 was finished, the computer restarted and then it was just a blue screen. Nothing. It didn't ask for the second disk or aything. I tried again, and in the middle of Disk 2 Installation the grey "You need to re-start..." screen came down. ***. Now, I can't seem to install ANY Mac OS X on my computer, not what it came with, not the Snow Leopard, nothing.
    Again, Hardware Tests tells me everything is ok, and the Hard Drive also says there's nothing to repair. Then what is this? I don't even know what it could be anymore! Please help if you have an idea of what this might be! Unfortunally, at the moment I have no money to send it to the repair so they'd check=/
    Thanks in advance, any help would be greatly apreciated!

    Oh ok, well that was what the test said prior to reformatting the hard drive. Now, it doesn't find any trouble no matter how many times I run it. That's what has me so confused, everything seems to check out and yet...I can't do anything, not even install the software!

  • Has anyone else spent 4 hours trying to figure out how to get a refund for extra iCloud storage you accidentally purchased?

    Has anyone figured out how to actually get a refund for iCloud extra storage? I accidentally purchased too much extra storage. The supports site says "Cancel storage not needed" within 15 days.  But there is no instructions on HOW to do that. I have searched for hours for instructions. I did Express Lane Case #s only to have Apple Support "close" these cases with a "resolution" that they told me to visit their support sites. I am in a loop! I have had 3 Case numbers for this with no one giving me the credit refund. I finally was given a phone number.  Been on hold so long my cell dropped the call and had to start over...3 times. Of course, all very nice people who took my phone number in case they need to call me back and then never called me when I lost the call. None of them had the security level for refunds so I had to be sent on to the next person and then the next, all with rediculously long hold times. I finally gave up for the night. Tried to "chat" online, but the only option is to "Chat Later" when I feel like trying again. Again, no explanation on why that is the only option showing (too busy, closed for the night?). Is the ploy here for me to realize I already spent more hours of my time than the cost of the error and I'll eventually give up? On this site I did see someone post a refund resolution for MobileMe. Those instructions are not working for iCloud storage canceling. There was no "choice" to click for canceling that I saw.

    I did get this resolved the next day. So the solution is to not try to resolve this in the evening, the were understaffed. I called the next day during business hours and had the opposite experience. I got in and was only on hold 5 min. Again the first support person could not give refunds and I was passed on to her supervisor, but again the hold time was reasonable. This person was very easy to work with and she took care of the issue. I explained that it was not completely clear that the cloud is not meant to be backup for all your pc files, thus the reason for so many cancelations once we get it and find out what it cannot store. The online support sites could do a better job telling you that refunds require phone calls (during days hours).

  • •Ever since my fiancee had his Ipod touch malfunction my computer will not allow me to reinstall Itunes or any other kind of installer? I was on the web for ten hours trying to figure out what I can do!

    I upgraded to Firefox 4 and every time I try to open the home page with the Google search bar teh connection times out and its unable to connect. If I type any other address in the address bar it will open up the site, it's only Google it won't open. I've worked through every step on the Firefox support page and checked all my settings, run scans for malware, checked the firewall settings etc and even with my firewall, antivirus & spam filters all turned off I still can't open Google. I even uninstalled Firefox 4 and went back to version 3.6.16 but still have the same problem. Will I ever be able to Google again? Is there anything else I can try? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Trying to figure out what carriers my iPhone 5 is compatible with

    Hi everyone.
    I recently bought a new iPhone 5 (not 5c, not 5s, just 5). No SIM card. It was activated, as in I could access the home screen. I can no longer do this, as I was advised to restore it in order to unlock it, which did not work.
    I went to both MetroPCS and T Mobile and attempted to load their respective SIM cards. In both cases the phone gave the error message "SIM card is not valid" which as I understand means the phone is locked to some other carrier.
    Before I tried to restore the phone, I looked in the settings. I do not recall which row this information was under, but the text was "T Mobile 15.0". Clicking this led me to some 6 or 7 digit number, and clicking again led to an email, something something @ sprintpcs . com. I was under the impression that the phone was locked to T Mobile due to what I just mentioned, but clearly that was not the case since T Mobile SIM did not work.
    I called Apple and the first person I was directed to told me he could not provide me with any information about the status of the lock. I asked to be connected to a supervisor, and he told me that the phone is locked to Sprint.
    I am going to a Sprint store tomorrow to see what they can tell me, but I am confused about something.
    Sprint Nextel US runs CDMA iPhones, which as far as I know, do not use a SIM card. However, my iPhone has a SIM card slot. The back of the box tells me that the phone is compatible with CDMA bands 800/1900/2100MHz *and* GSM/Edge 850/900/1800/1900 *and* LTE 1/3/5/13/25.
    If I understand correctly, this means that if the phone were hypothetically unlocked, then it could be activated with any carrier, CDMA using such as Sprint, or with a SIM card from T Mobile, MetroPCS, AT&T, or some other. That is the the first question; if the phone was unlocked, could it be used with any carrier, GSM or CDMA, SIM card or no, with no problem? I have read in some places that a US CDMA phone only works with GSM *outside* of the US.
    Second question. If Sprint will not unlock the phone, can I get a contract with Virgin Mobile, as a wholly-owned Sprint subsidiary?
    Third question. The phone is still under what seems to be "hardware warranty". IMEI checkers confirm that it is under some kind of warranty until June 24, 2014. Does this warranty only cover hardware problems, so for example, if the lightning port was broken/blocked and I could not charge the phone? Or does it also mean I can return or replace the phone?
    All the info I have on the phone is listed below.
    iPhone 5 White 16GB
    US
    MD657LL/A
    Possibly locked to Sprint Nextel
    Possibly compatible with CDMA *and* GSM
    iOS 7 or above (not sure)
    Was activated at one point, is no longer activated
    TMobile, MetroPCS SIM cards *do not work*
    A1429

    I have the same problem i have iPhone 5s and is lock on Sprint and i update on 7.1.1 and not restore and when the update was complet then i go to settings and write on carrier T-mobile Mk and then i put sim card from tmobile the phone is still locked and then i restore the phone and now i`m stuck on activation screen i need to put sprint card...
    I`m from macedonia and i buy the phone from usa ... Sprint is only in usa i dont have sprint in Macedonia...
    LOL
