In yahoo mail "outbox" and keyboard won't pop up !

I changed my password today and I can't access my inbox unless I verify that I am a human being by going into my "outbox" and entering the alpha/numeric characters. Well, this should be simple enough but my keyboard doesn't pop up and I am stuck without any options except going back to yahoo mail main page. Here is the message that appears after I sign into my yahoo mail account: "Action required. We need to check you're a real person. Please go to your Outbox and view your pending messages to complete the sending process." Any suggestions? TIA

You need to go to the site in the browser and verify thru safari - then your mail app will start working correctly.

Not easily, no. There's no direct transfer option between POP and IMAP, especially across email providers. The best you could do would be to forward all of your emails to your new address, although it's not clear that you need to - dropping your sbcglobal.net account doesn't instantly render all your existing mail void - it'll still be in your Mail client, you can still read it, search it, etc., it just won't be on your provider's server.
I have toyed with the idea of getting a MobileMe account. Would that solve my issue/question above?
MobileMe would be viable, especially if you're interested in synching your various iOS devices. It's not free, of course, unlike Yahoo and Gmail, although you've already discounted them...
I have also toyed with purchasing my own URL, but it's hard to tell from the sites (1and1, Namecheap, etc.) if they come with IMAP email accounts included.
Some registrars offer email hosting bundles with a domain registration. This could be a good way to go. GoDaddy, for example, have a email hosting option for domains you register with them.

Ok, finally I figure it out!!
You need to give computer access to the password of Yahoo.com
You go to the application "Key Chain" that is included in your MacBook Pro.
Then you go to the first tab that should say something with "Login/Session" and you should see all your saved passwords.
Scroll down to the saved password of "Yahoo: your-username @ ...
Click on it, you should see a window opening
Go to the tab "Access Control"
Then click on "Allow all applications to connect .. ", NOT the option "Ask every time for allowance" or you can also just add the program "MAIL" with the "+" icon !!
There you go, now you should not have to worry again !!!!!!

Are you tapping on the field you want to enter data into? That opens the soft keyboard. If you touch the field and hold it, the paste option will appear.

Cannot use instant messenger in Yahoo Mail anymore and don't know why

Step 1
Remove "MacKeeper" as follows. First, back up all data.
"MacKeeper" has only one useful feature: it deletes itself.

from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-A. The "MacKeeper" application is in the folder that opens. Quit it if it's running, then drag it to the Trash. You'll be prompted for your login password. Click the Uninstall MacKeeper button in the dialog that appears. All the functional components of the software will be deleted. Reboot.
☞ Quit MacKeeper before dragging it to the Trash.
☞ Don't empty the Trash. Let MacKeeper delete itself.
☞ Don't try to drag the MacKeeper Dock icon to the Trash.
Step 2
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. Test.

I just setup my yahoo mail plus with MAIL in my new macbook. When i open mail, it download the entire emails from yahoo mail's server... i dont want this because it take ages to download.
how can i retrieve " new and unread" email only?

Since this is the first time that Mail has connected to Yahoo!, all email there is "new and unread", so it will download everything. The only way around that is for you to delete everything you've already read previously, then connect with Mail and download the remaining email.
At the same time, you need to setup Mail to delete the messages from the Yahoo! servers immediately after it downloads them to Mail.

You will have to ask Yahoo - If you are using Apple software then that all works - I do not use Yahoo applications and have no idea how they work - support for them must come from Yahoo

I have an elderly relative who uses webmail. She has a Verizon DSL connection. She opted in to Yahoo mail somehow. Can anyone tell me how to un-do her yahoo election? If we did somehow un-do our yahoo mail and revert to <whatever is the default> would the web landscape become less cluttered? Honestly, she can barely access her actual mail because the DSL bandwidth is completely sucked up by all the other screen elements, adverts, and so on.

Sorry to hear about the problems with her email. Have you thought about setting her up with a mail client like Outlook Express, Windows live mail, etc? Should you still want to unlink the account, do these steps...

-In the red bar at the top click ACCOUNT then ACCOUNT PROFILE.
-Scroll all the way to the bottom and click CHANGE MY ONLINE EXPERIENCE under the "Online Experience" heading.

Mail Crashed and now won't relaunch

I rebooted my MacBook Intel 2GHz Core 2 Duo running Leopard 10.5.1 and now my mail application will not launch. It opens and then immediately crashes and when you hit relaunch it just crashes immediately. When you reset and relaunch it still crashes.
According to the crash report it is crashing at Thread 6 (see below).
Any thoughts?

i would suggest you try a few things in order:
1) did you create to dos in mail by any chance? and if so are they showing up in ical? if so then go to ical and delete these to dos - if these to dos were created in ical, then there is no need to delete them. (when a to do is created in mail, it shows up in ical in a calendar under the email account name as a header.) after deleting the to dos, try to launch mail again
2) do you have plug ins installed with mail by any chance? look at homefolder/library/mail/bundles and disable/get rid of any. launch mail, see if that helps.
3) locate the file com.apple.mail.plist in homefolder/library/preferences, trash it, launch mail again. note that upon launching mail again, that is successfully, then you will have to recreate your account(s).
