InDesign CS5 crashes EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS)

Question

We have a file with 100 pages that starts acting odd [images missing] and then when a page is deleted a "Serious Error" occurs and InDesign crashes. 
This is repeatable on 3 separate machines and also occurs in CS6.
The apple error shows:  EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS)
and
KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE
Can anyone help ? 
I tried resetting the preference files as outlined here:

The error persists and is repeatable everytime on multiple machines.
Please advise.

OK. Larry's advice is good, but there are specific things to glean from your crash report. They may be like a wild-goose chase though:
1   PublicLib.dylib                    0x016d2405 ProtectiveShutdown::~ProtectiveShutdown() + 17
This indicates that you should look at ~/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign/ Version 8.0/en_US/InDesign Recovery/ProtectiveShutdownLog and see what it says (or upload to pastebin). It may or may not be particularly helpful...
With respect to your actual document, have you tried exporting to IDML and opening that?
Also, have you tried attempting to divide-and-conquer to find the source of the problem? Try using Pages (panel menu) > Move Pages to move document pages to a new document, and see if that helps you find the source of the problem.
