Issue Related to limit the result in prompt by using SQL statement.

Hello Gurus,
I am facing one issue rite now with our testing environment in some Dashboard Prompt. it seems like they are working fine in our Development environment.
basically I am using SQL statement in prompt to limit the values for current + last 2 years in drop down.
Here is the SQL that I am using SELECT Time."Fiscal Year" FROM "Financials - AP Overview" where Time."Fiscal Year" <= VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.CURRENT_FSCL_YEAR) AND Time."Fiscal Year" >= (VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.CURRENT_FSCL_YEAR)-2) ORDER BY TIme."Fiscal Year" desc
Now it's working fine in our Dev but geeting failed in Test environment.
it's giving below error.

Couple of possibilities..
1. environments may be at different patch sets, may be causing the issue.
2. data in working environment is fine but in other environment.
to further debug use the same logical sql in both environments and compare the results..

The jdbc service has the option of returning xml back to you ...if you do it this way then you can interogate the xml

If someone from Adobe could GUARANTEE that this problem would go away if I
purchased CS4, I would pony up the cash and do it. However, I'm skeptical
about that because I just saw someone else post a message on the forum today
who is running CS4 and getting the exact same runtime error as me.
I'll try un-installing and re-installing as Admin, and if that doesn't work,
maybe I can find a used copy of CS3.
In the meantime, I'm also wondering if a Photoshop file can carry any sort
of corrupt metadata inside it once it has errored out? Reason I ask is, I
had to port all of my old PSD files to the new computer, and I only seem to
be getting this error when I attempt to work on one of the files that
previously got the runtime error when they were sitting on my XP machine.
When I create new files from scratch on this new computer, they seem to be
working just fine (at least, for now).
If so, I would probably be smart to never open those troublesome
"errored-out" files again.

How to join the results from 2 webservices using BPEL?Architecture question

I am new to BPEL. BPEL process calls two webservices, which return complex results. I need to process the results from 2 webservices using BPEL .The result will be a complex xml, join/merge of previous results.
What is the best practice to do it with BPEL?
I see three ways:
1.To do the processing (join/ merge) inside the BPEL process itself and return complex xml.
2.Develop auxiliary webservice in java. Auxiliary webservice will do the processing (join/merge). Call this webservice from BPEL process.
3.Do a plain concatenation of the two XMLs in BPEL and forward it to the frontend. Frontend then will do all the logic on its side

you could process the XMLs one at a time, and use XSL transformations to process the payload to a target schema.
Activity 1:
output from webservice1 -> transform 1 -> partial XML (of target schema)
Activity 2:
output from webservice2 -> transform 2 -> completed XML (of target schema)

If you want to Execute your SSIS package using SQL job then best solution is to first deploy your Package
either using msdb deployment or filesystem deployment.The simplest approach to deployment is probably to deploy to the file system.
So, here is the deployment steps;
There are four steps in the package deployment process:
    The first optional step is optional and involves creating package
configurations that update properties of package elements at run time. The configurations are automatically included when you deploy the packages.
    The second step is to build the Integration Services project to create a package deployment utility. The deployment utility for the project contains the packages that you want to deploy
    The third step is to copy the deployment folder that was created when you built the Integration Services project to the target computer.
    The fourth step is to run, on the target computer, the Package Installation Wizard to install the packages to the file system or to an instance of SQL Server.

How do I apply filters or limit the rows on my report using a Date field in SQL report builder 3.0?

I have a status of completed and a date field in the dataset. The date field is either empty or contains a date. All 2015 dates are holding dates.
So how can I limit the report to only pull completed status with an empty date or a holding date?
I have not been able to set an OR option on a date field filter and if I add two filters on the date column one for empty one for > 12/31/2014 then it treats it as an "and" and pulls nothing from the list I have in sharepoint.

In Reporting Services, the relationship of filters is “And”, and there is no option to change the relationship from “And” to “Or”. While we can use “or” operator within the expression to create one filter to integrated all filters to work around this
issue.
We can add a filter as follows in the dataset to limit the rows in your report:
Expression: =Fields!date.Value is nothing or Fields!date.Value>"12/31/2014" Type: Boolean
Operator: =
Value: true

Using Presentation variables in Prompt Default using SQL Results.

I have set a presentation variable in a prompt(say 1st prompt). In the 2nd prompt, using default option, when I try to reference this variable in SQL Results, I get this error.
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 27002] Near <@>: Syntax error [nQSError: 26012] . (HY000)
The syntax used for SQL is:
SELECT <tab>.<col1> FROM <subject area> WHERE <tab>.<col2> = @{variables.myvar}
Note: However the same SQL works fine in SHOW option.

- OK. In the second prompt, instead of setting Default to SQL Results, set it to Specific Value.
- Then insert '{pres_var}' in the window. I got it to work this way.
- It supplied the PV as the default in the second prompt after hitting "Go" on the first prompt.
Hi, thanks for your suggestion but I don't need to have the value of the presentation variable itself as the prompt default. The variable is a filter for a specific SQL clause and the default is the result of this SQL.

Display only the result rows only by using condition or any other way

Hello Everybody,
I've a web report where I want to diplay ony the result rows and don't want to display the detail rows at all. I could hide the detail rows but these rows still appear without any value in the key figure fields.
I tried to revove the characteristic field from the drilldown but it doesn't show the report correctly. Then I tried to write a condition to filter the detail rows but this condition doesn't apply to the result rows so this effort also didn't work for me.
Is there anyway we can display the report with only the result rows ? I've already tried to find out a solution on SDN but couldn't get the solution eventhough I found many posts on this kind of requirement.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Crystal Report is very slow to fetch the results of a Query used in Command

Improve the performance in stored procedure using sql server 2008 - esp where clause in very big table - Urgent

Hi,
I am looking for inputs in tuning stored procedure using sql server 2008. l am new to performance tuning in sql,plsql and oracle. currently facing issue in stored procedure - need to increase the performance by code optmization/filtering the records using where clause in larger table., the requirement is Stored procedure generate Audit Report which is accessed by approx. 10 Admin Users typically 2-3 times a day by each Admin users.
It has got CTE ( common table expression ) which is referred 2 time within SP. This CTE is very big and fetches records from several tables without where clause. This causes several records to be fetched from DB and then needed processing. This stored procedure is running in pre prod server which has 6gb of memory and built on virtual server and the same proc ran good in prod server which has 64gb of ram with physical server (40sec). and the execution time in pre prod is 1min 9seconds which needs to be reduced upto 10secs or so will be the solution. and also the exec time differs from time to time. sometimes it is 50sec and sometimes 1min 9seconds..
Pl provide what is the best option/practise to use where clause to filter the records and tool to be used to tune the procedure like execution plan, sql profiler?? I am using toad for sqlserver 5.7. Here I see execution plan tab available while running the SP. but when i run it throws an error. Pl help and provide inputs.

You've asked a SQL Server question in an Oracle forum. I'm expecting that this will get locked momentarily when a moderator drops by.
Microsoft has its own forums for SQL Server, you'll have more luck over there. When you do go there, however, you'll almost certainly get more help if you can pare down the problem (or at least better explain what your code is doing). Very few people want to read hundreds of lines of code, guess what's it's supposed to do, guess what is slow, and then guess at how to improve things. Posting query plans, the results of profiling, cutting out any code that is unnecessary to the performance problem, etc. will get you much better answers.

As per requirement ,
insert the records in excel sheet(DT) by using SQL Task-SSIS .
I used SQL query in SQL Task-SSIS:
e.g.., INSERT INTO [DT$B1:B1] VALUES ('COMMM')
but error:Executing the query "INSERT INTO [DT$B1:B1] VALUES ('COMMM') " failed with the following error: "This table contains cells that are outside the range of cells defined in this spreadsheet.". Possible failure reasons: Problems
with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.

then first create a table inside Excel sheet based on your source data. You can Execute sql task for that using excel connection. then use insert to populate it

You may try something like this:
select rownum from all_objects where rownum<=10;
This should normally work, for I can't imagine how one may have a DB with less then 10 objects. Still, it's not too elegant.
Why not use pl/sql?
declare
n number
begin
dbms_output.enable;
for n in 1..100 loop
dbms_output.put_line(to_char(n, '9990'));
end loop;
This would seem the most natural approach.

Configuring the appbuilder chart using SQL Statements

I am able to create a chart using .mameta
My Chart is able to read in data and display on a chart successfully.
What i could not achieve was that the chart doesn't read and display the numbers correctly as shown below.
It read by ID instead of TOTAL COUNT
Does anyone knows how to display the count correctly?

Modularity per se, i.e. using a function implies a new database object, source control et. al. which is an overhead.
If we can use an sql statement and handle it in the control file itself, then any future enhancements/bug fixing would involve only modification to the control file, i.e. patching would be easier in this case.
