ITS Documentation on SDN?

I don't see an ITS section on SDN, is there one?  I looked in the developer areas listing, and in the Web Application Server section.  Did I miss it?
Thanks in advance,
Andrew

Hello Andrew,
The ITS-forum on SDN is pretty new. It started only two month ago. As a moderator of this forum I hope that there will be more ITS related content on SDN soon - or at least a FAQ-like link collection to documents on Service Marketplace.
By the way: Have you searched for "Internet Transaction Server" in section "SDN Content"? There is already ITS stuff available on SDN.
Best regards,
Henning.

    Hello joecui,
Did you publish the Internet Services?  You can do so by going to SE80 and publishing Webgui, System, and IAC to the Integrated ITS.  Or you can use the report W3_PUBLISH_SERVICES or transaction SIAC_PUBLISH_ALL_INT.

  • Two new sample applications based on SAP MII available on SDN

I am glad to inform everyone that the following new SAP MII based sample applications have been release on SDN:
    1. Plant Data Collection(PDC) of Production Confirmation for shop floor operators:
This application is designed to provide shop-floor operators a simple, intuitive and effective web-based user interface on a touch screen to enter the production performance easily and effectively. It comes with the capabilities to perform time-event production confirmation for both Production and Process Orders and the administrator can choose between two user-management modes for operators.
To download this application and its documentation goto:

  • Documentation in sap XI

    Hello,
I want to learn from your experience.
I end a scenario, When I try the scenario and the scenario works perfectly.
Now I need to document the scenario.
I want to now how do you do this, do you have any templates for that? Do you use inside sap documentation, Do you use the button show/hide processing log.
I'll be happy to hear any advice
    Regards
    Elad

    Hi,
For documenting interface you can use word document and create template yourself. Normally we classified document in two part (two separate docs or one doc with 2 part) functional and technical.
Function Document should contain information about: Business logic behind interface and specification of design in plain english (no technical information). FD should also inform about load/frequency of message flow.
Technical document: should contain either topdown (start with high level visualization and give information upto data type) or bottom up technical design (reverse of Topdown). TD also mention any predefine SAP object is used and information related to configuration (ip/host, username/password, port etc).
Normally TD contains all information about SWC, Design Object, BPMs, Configuration Object, External defination, custom code etc.
If you are using any reusable component then you can refer to its documentation in your documentation, also mention contact detail of developer/owner of interface.
Pls revert if you have any doubts.

  • Overhauling the Documentation for Director

    Hi Everyone,
Please excuse this cross-post. You can also find it on the Direct-L mailing list and on the Director Online Forum. I will post a summary of answers to each of these places.
Rajnish Bharti, Product Manager for Director and Shockwave, asked me last week for my input on how best to overhaul the documentation for Director.  In particular, he asked me to give him an idea of what the Table of Contents should look like.
You can find my first draft of the Table of Contents here:
    http://www.openspark.com/adobe/Director_Documentation_01.zip
While preparing this, I contacted a number of Director teachers and trainers, talked to some newcomers to Director, consulted dozens of Director books (mostly from the Macromedia days) and pored over the various reincarnations of Director's own help.
    Examples
Lots of real-life examples that you can copy and paste and
    know that they will work
    Images
Clear and concise screen shots that capture the essence of
    a concept at a glance
    Fast and Powerful Searching
Beginners don't know which menu item or scripting term they
are looking for.  The search engine should help users to home
in from a layman's expression to the appropriate documentation
article.  Articles should be intelligently cross-referenced.
I have suggested dividing the documentation into three sections:
    1. Director Step by Step
A series of short hands-on tutorials which introduce all the
commonly-used features of Director in the context of simple
    movies.  Beginners can start here.
This section imagines that you have never used Director or
studied its documentation before.  You select a project that
is similar to the one you are planning, and the documentation
shows you how to achieve your goal using Director.
Hyperlinks lead you to more in-depth entries in the Feature
Guide on how a feature works, or to the appropriate entry in
    the Scripting Dictionary.
    2. Feature Guide
This section will give detailed explanations of each feature,
category by category.  It will be divided into three main
    chapters:
    The Workspace
Working with the various windows and menus
    The Raw Materials
Understanding sprites, members, the various media types
    and data types
    The Process
Designing your project, animating sprites, using scripts
    and publishing your work.
This section will give you a categorized view of what Director
does.  It imagines that you start with a "How do I..." type of
question, and guides you to the appropriate part of the
User Interface or the correct scripting terms to use.
It will contain links both to the Step by Step tutorials and
to the entries in the Lingo Dictionary.
    3. Alphabetical Scripting Dictionary
I have abandoned the idea of having the Dictionary divided
into categories.  I believe it is much easier to find an
entry without having to wonder whether it is a keyword, a
method or an operator.  If you don't know what entry you
should be looking for, the Feature Guide will help you.  If
you do know the word you are looking for, then you only
    need to know the alphabet.
Each entry in the Scripting Dictionary should link back to
the articles in the Feature Guide which refer to it, and to
each of the tutorials in the Step by Step section which use
    the term.
I also suggest (Section 4) implementing a much more powerful Search engine than the D11.5 browser-based help currently features, but that is not really a part of the Table of Contents.
The document that I have posted at...
    http://www.openspark.com/adobe/Director_Documentation_01.zip
... is by no means definitive, but it is at a point where I am ready to share it, to check if my general approach is acceptable.
I have not gone into much greater detail in some areas than in others, so past the 4th level, you may find certain areas are still vague.  You may have better ideas for the Step by Step tutorial movies than the ones I have included.
    Red text indicates new content.
I welcome feedback from all members on the community, both in terms of the content and the structure.
Once we have a comprehensive list of all the topics to cover and a consensus on the structure, then we will have to work out the most cost-effective way of generating the actual content.
Let me know what you think,
    James

    James, this looks outstanding!
I'm too far behind in versions to offer much here, but one thing I noticed that, I think is an oops:
    3.4.    Java Dictionary
    should be:
    3.4.    JavaScript Dictionary
Unless they brought back the Java beast, that is.

  • Is there any documentation regarding the fuego.fdi.* libraries

Is there any documentation regarding the fuego.fdi.* libraries
    thanks

    Hey lloyd,
    It looks like there is!
Within Studio, click on the 'Documentation' flap on the bottom of the screen.
Then, open the project flap, and navigate to Catalog -> Fuego -> Fdi
Double click on any of the individual components, and its documentation will appear within the documentation flap on the lower portion of the screen.
If you don't see any documentation, check the tabs at the top of the documentation flap - the tabs allow you to switch between the documentation for the current method you're working on, and the component you've selected.

  • Where is the documentation about PostgreSQL?

Could not get the docs as mentioned on the LION Server Manual: "PostgreSQL, view its documentation at http://www.example.com/postgresql/ (replace www.example.com with your server’s URL)." It shows an error message saying the page could not be found.

I found the solution. Thanks baltwo.
Actually the documentation Apple manual mentioned is located on LION Server at: "/Library/WebServer/Documents/postgresql/html/". Under html you can find the file index.html.
I would like to add that LION Server already has two system accounts with the same short name for them "_postgres" (person and group). What you have to do is to add your account to postgresql group using Server app.
Under View select Show system accounts.
Also the postgresql sample config files can be found at: "/usr/share/postgresql/".
I also recomend downloading phppgadmin, expand it and copy to your LION Server WEB document folder. After that you can use Safari to call it  "yourServerURL/phppgadminFolderName/". The user name is "_postgres" and the password is your account password.
I forgot. You have to start WIKI service to start postgresql. Otherwise you must start using the Terminal before using phppgadmin.

  • V12 Transaction Documentation

    Hello,
I see the Generate Documentation menu item under Transaction in the 12.0 Workbench menu however it is grayed out.  I have 12.0 SP2 installed.  Is there a V12.0 replacement for the V11.5 iText BLS documentation builder?
Forgive me if this has been asked before. I've searched the forums and have not found any information.
    Thanks -
    Chuck

I successfully uploaded PDFActions.jar and iText.jar and deployed them. In the BLS, now I can see  new set of actions "PDF actions". I am able to use them. But when I open a transaction try to get its documentation, the "Generate Documentation" is still greyed out. After deploying the jar files, I closed the Logic Editor and Re-opened. But no use.
The status under system management shows "Deployed".
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance,
    Prasanna

  • This is possibly the worst documentation I have ever encountered

I am a composer, entrepreneur, and I've actually spent a lot of time doing technical writing. I am using Logic Express 8, and, for example I would like to define a region that loops. Of course, I can find "resizing arrange regions," and all kinds of stuff about editing regions, but I can't find either "define a region," "create a region," "creating a region," or "defining a region."
The whole point of documentation is to allow people to use applications quickly and easily.
I want to create the intro for a show, and I am using a snippet of one of my songs. I imported the song, tried to edit it, and I get "volume locked."
Again, I can't unlock it, and the documentation tells me to do things without giving me links on how to do it. I then search on the phrase I find in the documentation, and then I can't find further information.
I can hardly use the app, and in my opinion, as an experienced technical writer, it is because the documentation makes it really hard to figure out how to do anything. No links, rare graphics.
I feel very strongly that I could put together much better documentation, and I was a judge at a Technical Communications Competition, so my opinion is informed.
I find myself postponing projects, just because the documentation on the Mac apps (since moving from Windows about a year ago) makes things really hard regarding the initial learning curve.
I have a lot of suggestions and practical things that Apple could do to decrease the length of the learning curve and improve its documentation considerably, though I doubt that Apple doesn't recognize this "flaw." Maybe it is intentional. At any rate, it is very irritating not to be able to find even the most basic information in a help file quickly.
I type in what I want to do, and the help app should give me a real procedure with where to click and how to get it done. If I don't know the "Apple" vocabulary, the help file should map my vocabulary to its vocabulary, instead of insisting on its own lexicon.
I am very happy I made the switch from Windows to Mac, but the Apple documentation is at least as bad as Windows docs.
    Yuck!
    --Dainis W. Michel

    Hi Dainis
i agree with your comments. being a pro user of Cubase for many years & recently changing to Logic, i've been struggling to do a new project with Logic. Logic itself is a major part of the problem with a confusing array of menus all over the place & too many options. the manual is rather like the cubase manual in having the info their but the language & explanation are not not simply & logically set out & certainly not easily accessible from the index. why do manuals only appear to have computer generated contents list without proper use of subject listings parading as an index. • HR ABAP: Issue with using 'nocommit' parameter on FM HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION

Issue with using nocommit parameter on FM HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION:
My client has a requirement to create the following 4 infotypes in sequence in a LUW, i.e either all are created or none is created.
    9045   (custom infotype)
    0045
    0078
    0015
I tried to use the nocommit parameter on FM HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION to insert the 4 infotypes
in a nocoomit mode and then at the end I have issued
'Commit Work', but to my surprise only I/T 0015 is created in the database and the first three (9045, 0045 and 0078) did not make it to database.
I searched many threads on SDN but could not find a solution.
Please let me know if there could be any solution to implement the LUW.
    YOur inputs will be appreciated.

    Hi ,
i think u can also try with this FM HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA , see its documentations.
no commit works like a simulation mode , what u can do is  ,
call FM for all Infotypes and collect all error msgs if any , then finally call FM for all infotypes again without passing nocommit work ( i.e space).

  • Inserting data via ABAP

When we use INSERT statement to insert data in DB tables there is no foriegn key check or check table validations that are performed this is clearly mention by SAP in its documentation.
I am uploading lot of data from an excel sheet into the ABAP in then using the INSERT statement to put data in the tables.
Now i need to perform the check table validation . I cannot do this validation for each and every record cause it will be very demanding on the ABAP. Can anybody suggest someway of doing this validation a FM or something ?

the foriegn key/check table validations are processed on dynpros, not when directly updating the database.   You need to do the validations in the ABAP yourself.  For example, checking company code from your excel file.
    data: xt001 type t001.
    select Single * from t001 into xt001
           where bukrs = iupload_file-bukrs.
    if sy-subrc <> 0.
    * Company code was not found.
    endif.
Or you can save some hits to the database, by picking up the table first before looping at your records and doing a READ TABLE statement instead.
data: it001 type table of t001 with header line.
    select * into table it001 from t001.
    Loop at iupload_file.
read table it001 with key bukrs = iupload_file-bukrs.
    if sy-subrc <> 0.
    * Company code not found
    endif.
    endloop.

  • Using Charm with CTS+

    Hi experts,
I would know if it's possibile configure the change request management to manage non-abap transport. I have a PI landascape (abapjava) where I configure the CTS. I would know if I can implement CHARM in my solutionmanager in order to manage the abap and non-abap transport in the PI landscape. I didn't find specific documentation in sdn or sap notes.
    Please can anyone help me?
    thanks
    giovanni

    Hi Giovanni,
    Its very much possible,
Since you have already implemented CTS+, It should be infact easy for you to have the CHARM done with solution manager.
What matters for chaRM is the Strategy(technniques) you need to adopt for controlling transports.
I believe, It should be the normal configuration of ChaRM.
    Thanks,
