Javax.faces.application.ViewExpiredException when using http parameters

Hi,
I got two jsf-pages and every time I'm using an http request parameter I get a javax.faces.application.ViewExpiredException straight away, so it's no timeout issue.
That means, if I open the page with "http://localhost:8080/rmp-invoicing/invoicing/monitorInvoiceRun.jsf" everything works fine, but when I use "http://localhost:8080/rmp-invoicing/invoicing/monitorInvoiceRun.jsf?test=test" I get the following exception:

    Hi,
    I am developing a utility for multiple file upload. I am getting some error here. First i want to explain my case.
    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.7,
    InputFile Properties:  maximumFiles="150"    uploadType="auto"
    web.xml change:  org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.UPLOAD_MAX_DISK_SPACE =5368709120   (For 5GB)
                                    org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.UPLOAD_MAX_MEMORY = 5368709120
                                    org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.CLIENT_STATE_MAX_TOKEN = 3
                                    session time out = 30 minute
    Here when i am uploading upto 5 files its working fine but when i am selecting more than 15 files its always coming below error.

  • Javax.faces.application.ViewExpiredException: viewId:/greeting.jsp - View /

    I'm new to JSF and I am trying to learn it, I tried the first example that comes with JavaEE Tutorial:
    I was successfully able to run the guessNumber application on Tomcat 6.x
    I left Tomcat and the app idel for a while, when I returned I tried to refresh the page and got this exception , instead of the usual page:
    javax.faces.application.ViewExpiredException: viewId:/greeting.jsp - View /greeting.jsp could not be restored.
         com.sun.faces.lifecycle.RestoreViewPhase.execute(RestoreViewPhase.java:185)
         com.sun.faces.lifecycle.LifecycleImpl.phase(LifecycleImpl.java:251)
         com.sun.faces.lifecycle.LifecycleImpl.execute(LifecycleImpl.java:117)
         javax.faces.webapp.FacesServlet.service(FacesServlet.java:244)Then I did an ant clean build on the application and shutdown tomcat and restarted it, to try this example again, but the above error reoccurs.
    Has anyone solved this exception or know anything about what coudl be the cause?
    I've already tried Google, but couldn't find a response from anyone that solved it yet.
    Many thanks for your help.

    I just solved this problem.
    Even though I had shut-down Tomcat, I was still using the same browser instance.
    When I closed the old instance and used a new browser instance of Firefox - it displayed normally.
    However, I have another problem ( a different one) - when I try to open the app in Internet Explorer 7, instead of rendering the JSP page , IE asks me to download it.
    And the file type has changed from JSP to jsp_auto_file , but IE is was rendering this page properly - I don't know what's causing it to not render it now.
    Also IE shows a default pop-up blocker when I try to load the above example.

  • Dealing with javax.faces.application.ViewExpiredException in jsf 1.2

    Hello,
    I am working on a jsf 1.2 application and I am trying to implement a way to deal with the ViewExpiredException. Here is what I tried:
    <error-page>
    <exception-type>javax.faces.application.ViewExpiredException</exception-type>
    <location>/WEB-INF/include/viewExpired.jsf</location>
    </error-page>
    (there is a viewExpired.xhtml file in the same folder as the jsf file)
    What happens is that the above exception is indeed thrown by my app by an ajax component but the error page is not displayed leaving the user with an application that is not working.
    Can anyone please help?
    Thanks in advance,
    Julien.

    Facelets tends to wrap exceptions into generic ones; anything that is not an IOException or a RuntimeException is wrapped into a FacesException. Thus your ViewExpiredException is not the top-level exception anymore and the error-page rule won't work.
    The way I work around this is to define my own view handler to be able to deal with exceptions myself. I figured this out from some article, but I cannot find it anymore. So I'll just post what I have:
    public class MyFaceletsViewHandler extends FaceletViewHandler {
      // TODO: replace with your own log API
      protected Logger  logger = Logger.getLogger(getClass().getName());
      public MyFaceletsViewHandler(ViewHandler parent) {
        super(parent);
      protected void handleRenderException(FacesContext context, Exception ex) throws IOException, ELException, FacesException {
        try {
          Throwable rootcause = findRootCause(ex);
          context.getExternalContext().getSessionMap().put("exception", rootcause);
          logger.error("Error rendering view!", ex);
          // TODO: put correct path to error page here
          ((HttpServletResponse) context.getExternalContext().getResponse()).sendRedirect("error.jsf");
          context.responseComplete();
        catch (IOException ioe) {
          logger.fatal("Could not process redirect to handle application error", ioe);
      private Throwable findRootCause(Throwable t){
        Throwable ret = t;
        while(ret.getCause() != null && ret.getCause() != ret){
          ret = ret.getCause();
        return ret;
      }And in your faces-config.xml:
    <application>
            <view-handler>package.to.MyFaceletsViewHandler</view-handler>
        </application>In the view handler you can then target specific exceptions if you want, like your ViewExpiredException. I added a little trickery to search for the root cause of the exception; that is usually the only part of an exception stacktrace that I'm interested in.
    If anybody knows a better way to deal with specific exceptions in facelets, please share.

  • JavaServerFaces javax.faces.application.Action cant find this package/class

    My ant build is failing as a result of being unable to find
    javax.faces.application.Action (I extended this class). I cannot find
    that package in any of the jsf-ea3 or j2ee jar files. Any help would be appreciated.
    I already posted this once but got no response, this time I will assign a few dukes. I figured this was a simple question.

    Well that would explain why I can't find it, as I am using EA3. And by the looks of my compile errors when using jwsdp1.2 (includes ea4), I have some work to do to get my app to compile under the new release. Thanks, you get the dukes.

  • Prompting for password and username only when using dynamic parameters

    Post Author: Co3023
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
    How do I stop CR XI prompting for password and username only when using dynamic parameters. When no dynamic parameters are used CR XI isn't prompting for the DB user name and password. The report is run from an application which passes the user name and password. I am using Oracle and the problem is both with the native oracle driver and the ODBC RDO driver.

    Post Author: jehanzeb
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
    I didnt ask you to change it to static I said I took the parameters totally out of the report. Saved it. Then re-enter the dynamic parameters into the report and it worked for me. That might have worked for you, not sure why you changed it to static.
    Ok I have just created a quick report using dynamic parameters, it didnt ask me for the username password.
    Can you create a sample report - just to test the db? and see if it works? add only 1 or 2 fields in the report, create parameters (dynamic) and see if it works
    why don't you embed the username and password in your application, it won't ask for username password then.

  • Problem translating servlet name from an encoded URL when using HTTPS

    Hello:
    I am experiencing a wierd issue when using WLS 5.1 with HTTPS and am hoping someone might
    be able to shed some light...
    I have deployed a web application and am using HTTPS.
    So, a typical call to a servlet is
    https://foo.com/web_app_context/servlet_name/servlet_arguments
    The servlet is used to upload files from disk to a database and to also download the same.
    Therefore, the servlet_arguments string contains the file name among other things.
    The problem seems to arise when the file name contains either a space or an
    underscore e.g. "file_name" or "file name". It is then typically encoded as
    "file%20name" in
    the URL.
    So a call then looks like:
    https://foo.com/web_app_context/servlet_name/file%20name
    When this request is sent to WLS, it seems to truncate the servlet_name by a couple
    of characters causing the request to fail.
    This works fine using HTTP.
    Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Prashant

    The JNDI call is different when you call an EJB from inside the J2EE.
    ctx = new InitialContext();
    ref = ctx.lookup("java:comp/env/<JNDI-Name>");

    Please help!!!
    Thanks,

    This seems like a JDeveloper packaging issue perhaps, or at least needs some knowledge of the JDeveloper packaging process:
    The deployment error:
    [12:52:12 PM] Caused by: weblogic.management.DeploymentException: Error: Unresolved Webapp Library references for "ServletContext@16785362[app:webapp1 module:webapp1.war path:/coagov spec-version:2.5]", defined in weblogic.xml [Extension-Name: jsf, Specification-Version: 2, exact-match: false] Seems to indicate that the weblogic.xml file you are embedding, has a <library-ref> element pointing to a JSF 2.0 shared-library deployed on WLS -- and that shared-library is not available.
    So you fixed it by doing this:
    Deployment -> Edit WAR deployment profile -> WEB-INF/LIB -> Contributors : checked jsf2.0, jstl1.2, jstl1.2tagsAnd thus, you have JSF 2.0 packaged in the WEB-INF/lib.
    Can you check that it is actually included in the WEB-INF/lib directory of your WAR file? Perhaps it's not being included for some reason.
    Have you also tried deploying the WLS jsf-2.0.war shared-library to the server you are deploying the web app to?

  • What is encrypeted when using https?

    Hi,
    I'm trying to find out what information is encrypted when a https call is used.  In my case when the portal calls a page using GET or POST variables for passing user/pass.  Since there are so many smart people here, I taught this might be the right place for the question.
    I have tried googeling for this, but I only find information around the handshaking/PKI part.  Since the (I'm on deep water here) TCP/IP packs are sent individually, there must be some sort destination/IP-address so they are routed trough internet to the correct server.  The way I see it, this information can not be encrypted, as the network would not know where to send them.  So the question is where is the line between what is and what is not encrypted?
    Best,
    Bjorn

    Hi,
    There are many layers in a request. In case if you have heard of the OSI model , there are layers for application , transport, network etc.,
    Application layers contains your application data like request object etc., These are split as data packets and encrypted.. which system/ip to send the data , which route to take .. are handled in transport  /network layers. This set of data (bits.. ) are appended with the encrypted .. app data.. !
    This might not be the theoretically exact explanation.. Nevertheless , i hope it gives you a fair idea.

  • JSession cookie dropping cause DuplicateSessionDetected exception when use https rather than http

    I developing Grails+BlazeDS server and Flex AIR client and stucked with this error: Detected duplicate HTTP-based FlexSessions, generally due to the remote host disabling session cookies. Session cookies must be enabled to manage the client connection correctly
    Google searches didn't successfully, as I see some difference in situations. The issue I got only when Flex client interact with server via https.
    Flex client:
    <s:ChannelSet id="userChannel">
               <s:SecureAMFChannel uri="https://localhost:8443/Con/messagebroker/amfpolling" />
    </s:ChannelSet>
    button click in UI triggered login method:
    loginResult.token = channelSet.login(usernameInput.text, passwordInput.text);
    And finished with DuplicateSessionDetected exception.
    After investigating network monitor logs, I found that a jsession cookie received from server not set in next requests to a server:

    And again - when used non-secure protocol everything ok - session cookie sevt to server in login operation as expected.
    I have a little experience in Flex development and didn't find any method to set session cookie when triggered channel login request. Could you help to resolve this issue, please?
    Thanks.

    Finnaly resolved it. I meet similar questions in the web, so I hope this solution will be helpfull for somebody.
    The  cause of DuplicateSessionDetected exception has been a Network Monitor tool of Flash Builder. After switching it off no any exception has been occurred. I think there issues  when Monitor acting as proxy when used with secure protocol.

  • Application crashes when using JNI with Jdk 1,2, 1.3 and 1.4

    Hi!
    I have this application that has a GUI written in Java and a file parser written in C. JNI is used to connect these parts together. The problem is that the application only works when I am using jdk 1.1.8 but not when using jdk1.2, jdk1.3 or jdk1.4. I am running the application on a Solaris 8 machine.
    I have not written the application myself but I am going to be working with it from now on. But I have today little knowledge with JNI and I have tried different approaches to solve the problem. For example I have tried to used DDD together with GDB to find out what the problem is but with no luck. When I run the application using jdk1.4 I get the following error when the JVM crashes:

    From this information I think that the problem should be in the native method setDebug. But I have tried to set a breakpoint at the beginning of that function in the C part but with no luck. The application crashes before it reaches that position in the C file.
    What could possibly go wrong between the setDebug function in the C part and the function call in the Java part?
    When using GDB, GDB cannot figure out what is wrong it just returns a hex address, no function name.
    I would really appreciate some help. I have tried everything that I can come up with!
    Best regards
    Lars

    I have figured out that the application fails on its first call to the native methods.
    So I have this Bitmap class that contains all the native calls and it is defined shortly as follow:
    public class Bitmap {
    static {
    System.loadLibrary("BitmapImpl");
    native void setDebug(int debuglevel, int statistics);
    There are many more native methods defined in Bitmap, but I only show the setDebug method because that is the first one that is executed and also the one that immediately fails.
    My setDebug C function is defined as follow in BitmapImpl.c
    #include <time.h>
    #include <stdio.h>
    #include <limits.h>
    #include <fcntl.h>
    #include <jni.h>
    #include <math.h>
    #include <errno.h>
    #include "Bitmap.h"
    #include "data.h"
    jint debug = 0;
    jint statistics = 1;
    JNIEXPORT void JNICALL Java_Bitmap_setDebug
    (JNIEnv *jenv, jobject jo, jint d, jint s)
    debug = d;
    statistics = s;
    My libBitmapImpl.so file is compiled using the following Makefile and using GNU gcc:
    JAVAPATH=$(JAVAINCLUDEPATH)
    LMACRO=-D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -DSOLARIS
    CSOURCE=BitmapImpl.c
    all:
    gcc -O3 -G $(LMACRO) -I$(JAVAPATH) -I$(JAVAPATH)/solaris \
    $(CSOURCE) -o libBitmapImpl.so
    It is still a total mystory why the application fails. I have tried it on a RedHat Linux machine and there it works fine. But not on Solaris. Only if I use the jdk1.1.8 but not a later one.
    Would really appreiciate some help!
    Best regards
    Lars

  • Application hangs when using ProcessStartInfo and Process.WaitForExit.

    I've looked on different threads about this, but all of them uses the Process.RedirectStandardOutput = True, which I don't.
    I'm trying to open a process (console application, not made by me) to make it compile a special .acs file to a .o file. The structure is simple, the only argument is the file you want to compile.
    But on certain files my application hangs when trying to open the process. Here's my code:
    Dim p As New Process
    Dim ps As New ProcessStartInfo
    ps.Arguments = SavePath 'Path example: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Zandronum\File.acs"
    ps.FileName = Path.Combine(System.AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory(), "Script Compilers\Zandronum\acc.exe")
    ps.CreateNoWindow = False
    ps.ErrorDialog = False
    ps.UseShellExecute = True
    ps.WindowStyle = ProcessWindowStyle.Hidden
    ps.WorkingDirectory = Path.GetDirectoryName(SavePath)
    Dim ErrorCaptured As Boolean = False
    Try
    p = Process.Start(ps)
    Catch ex As Exception
    ErrorCaptured = True
    End Try
    If ErrorCaptured = False Then
    p.WaitForExit()
    End If
    If ErrorCaptured = True Then
    Exit Sub
    End If
    Thanks!
    //Visual Vincent
    EDIT:
    For starting the process I use pretty much the same code that another guy made in C#. And his code is working perfectly...
    // Setup process info
    processinfo = new ProcessStartInfo();
    processinfo.Arguments = args;
    processinfo.FileName = Path.Combine(this.tempdir.FullName, info.ProgramFile);
    processinfo.CreateNoWindow = false;
    processinfo.ErrorDialog = false;
    processinfo.UseShellExecute = true;
    processinfo.WindowStyle = ProcessWindowStyle.Hidden;
    processinfo.WorkingDirectory = this.workingdir;
    try
    process = Process.Start(processinfo);
    catch(Exception e)
    // Unable to start the compiler
    General.ShowErrorMessage("Unable to start the compiler (" + info.Name + "). " + e.GetType().Name + ": " + e.Message, MessageBoxButtons.OK);
    return false;
    // Wait for compiler to complete
    process.WaitForExit();

    Please mark as answer if I solved your problem. :)

    Hi,
     Have you compared the FileNames and Arguments of ones that work and ones that don`t? Is there any difference in them such as the ones that work do not contain blank spaces in the FileName or arguments and the ones that do work don`t contain blank spaces
    in them? If you find that to be the problem then you need to add Quotes to the beginning and end of the FileName or Arguments.
     My first guess is the Arguments needs the Quotes like this because, i see blank spaces in your example of the Arguments.
    ps.Arguments = Chr(34) & SavePath & Chr(34)
    If you say it can`t be done then i`ll try it
    This actually made it. I had forgotten that blank spaces makes it a new argument, silly me. I don't use process arguments that often. ;)
    Thanks alot!

  • Error when using Date Parameters...

    Hi everybody,
    I have a little issue.
    Ever since I upgraded my CRXI R2 to SP4 I've had a little problem using date parameters.
    The little calendar icon next to the parameter field no longer works.
    When I click it I get the following error message:
    An error has occurred in the script on this page.
    Line:       79
    Char:      1
    Error:      Object Expected
    Code:      0
    URL:       file://C:\Documents and Settings\jlong\Local Settings\Temp\prompting1.html
    I'm thinking this is probable a quick registry fix, but I have no idea where to start looking.
    Hopefully one of you CR guru's knows the answer.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jason

    It seems you are having a scripting issue.
    Go onto the Internet explorer settings (internet options under control panel)
    click on security and then click on Internet and then Custom tab.
    Scroll right down where it says Scripting and enable it.
    That should resolve the issue.
    Here is the full list of browsers with scripting options:
    Windows Internet Explorer
    (all versions except Pocket Internet Explorer)
    Note To allow scripting on this Web site only, and to leave scripting disabled in the Internet zone, add this Web site to the Trusted sites zone.
    1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and then click the Security tab
    2. Click the Internet zone.
    3. If you do not have to customize your Internet security settings, click Default Level. Then do step 4
    If you have to customize your Internet security settings, follow these steps:
    a. Click Custom Level
    b. In the Security Settings u2013 Internet Zone dialog box, click Enable for Active Scripting in the Scripting section.
    4. Click the Back button to return to the previous page, and then click the Refresh button to run scripts.

    Maybe this might help?
    Remove Web Customization
    If multiple folders are causing the script error, remove Web customization from any folder that generates the error message.
    To remove customization from a folder, use the following steps:
    1. Open the appropriate folder.
    2. On the View menu, click Customize This Folder, click Remove Customization, click Next, and then click Finish.
    3. Close the folder.

    Hi Patrick
    I need to use the POST method, not the GET method. The external partner, which is receiving our message, says, that we are using GET.
    This is from their log where we are DongEnergy:
