Libreoffice upgrade error: /usr/share/icons/locolor/... already exists

In trying to upgrate libreoffice today, I get a bunch of errors about files in /usr/share/icons already existing. I checked a bunch and they weren't owned, so I started removing them using `updatedb` followed by `locate libreoffice` to track down those various icon folders and remove them. Unfortunately, the upgrade still fails with complaints about files already existing in /usr/share/icons/locolor/16x16 and ../32x32.
The problem is that /usr/share/icons/locolor is completely empty. `sudo ls -la /usr/share/icons/locolor` returns nothing, and `locate libreoffice` doesn't get any hits at that location.
Is there somewhere else pacman stores a cache or tmp file of what it thinks exists in the filesystem? I already did `pacman -Rsc libreoffice-common` and `pacman -Scc` to remove cached packages. No I'm simply trying to install fresh and I get the same errors.
This is on a computer that I haven't used in quite some time... could a skip of some intermediate version of libreoffice have caused some issues in the various icon locations or package contents? I'm stumped as to why it would think something exists that doesn't
Any suggestions?

@Roken: re-read my post to see what the problem is. I have deleted any instances of libreoffice-* inside /usr/share/icons.
The problem is that pacman is complaining about /usr/share/icons/locolor/.../libreoffice-* files that do not exist. /usr/share/icons/locolor empty and yet pacman thinks there's files in it!
Per the rest of your comment, appreciated. I practice the same -- for libreoffice, I figure without it installed, I can delete anything to do with libreoffice (I had no custom setups, templates, etc.). I wouldn't dream of it with various libraries, as you mention, without checking the Arch website of forums first.
So... how to figure out why pacman is seeing "ghost files"?

FYI: archlinux is widely known for our excellent wiki.  Be sure to check there and search the forums before starting new threads.  Many problems can be solved with a good search.
As a second FYI, I don't know if the use of the manjaro boards (linked in OP) was just a coincidence of what your previous search gave you or if you are using Manjaro.  If it's the latter there are many differences between Manjaro and Archlinux.  In this case they are similar enough to share a solution, but in other cases we would be unable to help you here.  In short, if you are using Manjaro, be sure to ask on their forums if you have future problems.

    Hi All,
I have created a procedure which search for a vendor and if the vendor or supplier doesn't exist then it will create that Vendor or Supplier using the API AP_VENDOR_PUB_PKG.Create_Vendor. I am using it as an concurrent program. Everything is working fine but I am getting the error

But the neither the supplier or the Supplier number exits .
Any Suggestions why I am getting this error. Please reply ASAP as it urgent. By the way I am in the R12 Env. with 11g Database.

    Hello,
This error may be because of the setup of "Payable system Setup" for Supplier Number is "Manual".
Can you check it @ > Payables > Setup > Options > Payables System Setup

  • Get message "Error creating account: Incoming server already exists."

    </blockquote>
I have been getting this too (for the last two days - on at least a dozen tries).
I am Running Win7 and already have three POP accounts.
All definitely have the incoming server pop.googlemail.com
I wanted to add a new IMAP account, so in T'Bird
    Tools.... Account Settings
Account Actions ..... Add Mail Account
    Filled in
    my name,
the email address ([email protected] - and in gmail this mail account
    was created as IMAP),
password (with a tick to remember this)
    ... continue
and it then detected the mail setup as IMAP,
    Incoming : IMAP, imap.googlemail.com , SSL
    Outgoing : SMTP, smtp.googlemail.com , SSL
    Username: [email protected]
but when I then clicked on Done
it said Error Creating Account - Incoming server already exists.
And if I then clicked on OK followed by Manual Config, it then showed
    in the Mail Account Setup
    Incoming: IMAP imap.googlemail.com 993 SSL/TLS Normal Password
and again if I then clicked Done it gave the same error message as before.
(and I have screenshots to support all of this).
But I do not know if someone has been working on a fix to T'Bird or googlemail, because just now when I did it yet again in order to make a final check that what I have been writing here is correct , this time I did NOT get the error message and the new account has been setup!!!!!
So do others find this has now been cleared too?

  • Central Administration not Available, STSADM password reset errors "job-admin-apppool-change" already exists

    Hi Everyone,
I think I've shot myself in the foot by not properly following set up instructions.
I have a two-fold problem.  Firstly, my Sharepoint Central Administration V4 site is showing
Service Not Available.  This seems to be related to the credentials the
Central Administration V4 Application Pool - hitting Test Settings within
IIS Manager for the site shows an Authentication and Authorization error for the credentials due to a bad password.
My reading indicates that I should run something to the effect of:
    %STSADM -o updatefarmcredentials -userlogin DOMAIN\username -password <new password as set via AD>
This runs into the following Error message
Error deploying administration application pool credentials. Another deployment may be active. An object of the type Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPAdminAppPoolCredentialDeploymentJobDefinition named "job-admin-apppool-change" already exists
under the parent Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPTimerService named "SPTimerV4".  Rename your object or delete the existing object.
I've tried searching out a solution but as yet have been unable to find a mechanism to resolve this error.  I have had a look through http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/sharepointadmin/thread/b7c17dac-1cd1-4f75-a031-e28e4fbfd2f7 but
it doesn't seem to relate to the same problems - as far as I know the account from which the command is being run is a farm administrator and the problem seems to be the existing job rather than permissions errors.
Your help will be much appreciated.
    Stuart

    Hi Stuart Weaver,
Firstly, please check if the SharePoint 2010 timer service is running. If not, please start it manually, then check the effect. In addition to this, you can try to
run SharePoint configuration wizard, then check the effect.
Note: when you start the SharePoint 2010 timer service, make sure you input the latest password. The steps are as follows:
Open services.msc, locate the SharePoint 2010 timer service, double click it, then click log on tab, input the updated password, then click apply.
    Hope this helps.

  • Error in retrieving tables / object already exists (UNV0035)

In XiR2 Designer we are usually able to invoke the table browser without issue, however after working in the app for some time... when invoking the table browser the error msg "Error in retrieving tables / This object already exists. (UNV0035)" pops up.  Then you are still able to open the table browser.  I've seen the same or similar msg when trying to insert or edit derived tables.  As mentioned, usually the table browser functions ok, so the db rights seem in order.  Has anyone else experienced / solved this?
    -Bob

    Hi,
From the error no unv0035, i came to konw that The object that you are trying to create already exists in the class. Objects must have unique names within the same class.
Try to Rename the existing object, or give the new object another name. If you
change the name of an existing object, documents using this object may not refresh correctly.
    Thanks,
    SK.

    -Reece,
We only have 1 single domain, 1 domain forest, no subdomains, only alias. I had replied to the other post as well. But I am happy to paste it here in case anyone want to read it.
So, after a few months of testing, capture and sending logs back and forth to Apple Engineers, we found out there is a setting in AD, under User Account that prevent us to log into AD from Mountain Lion. If you would go to your AD server, open up a user account properties, then go to Account tab, the "Do not require Kerberos preauthentication" option is checked. As soon as I uncheck that option, immediately I was able to log into AD on the Mac client. Apple engineers copied all my AD settings and setup a test environment on their end and match exact mine AD environment. They was able to reproduce this issue.
The bad part about this is... our environment required the "Do not require Kerberos preauthentication" is checked in AD, in order for our users to login into some of our Unix and Linux services. Which mean that it is impossible for us to remove that check mark because most, if not all of them some way or another require to login into applications that run on Unix and Linux. Apple is working to see if they can come up with a fix. Apparently, no one has report this issue except us. I believe most of you out there don't have that check mark checked in your environment... Anyone out there have any suggestion to by pass or have a work around for this?

  • Hyper-V Error 0x80070050 Virtual Hard Disk already exists.

    Hi All,
I'm new to this form and virtualization. I was able to create a Virtual computer with Hyper-V but ended up deleting it due to an error I couldn't resolve during the OS installation process. When I try to create a new virtual computer with the same name I
get an error saying "The system failed to create a virtual hard disk (hard disk path and name .vhdx) the file already exists 0x80070050" I can not find that file anywhere to remove it even though I already deleted the virtual computer. Anyone ideas
on how to fix this, I don't want to always have to make new unique names if I delete one to make a new one. I'm using this server to learn on and I will most likely be doing a lot of deleting and creations.
    Thank you,
    James

    James,
Most likely under "c:\ProgramData\..." which is a hidden folder by default on your system. Look around under this directory - "c:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Hyper-V" or something similar.
BTW - You can configure Hyper-V to tell it where to store the VHDs.

Some packages may not have been explicitly installed (e.g. difference between pacman -Qet and pacman -Qdt) but I doubt the OP is worried about that nicety at this moment
Makes no difference when reinstalling a package...
Also,  "pacman -Qqk" will give you a list of packages with missing files.

  • Uname -n: couldn't create error file for command: file already exists

this error message is displayed when executing "uname -n".
any clue where it comes from ?
    thanks in advance

First, make sure your using the uname command you think you should be.
    which uname
There are two versions. One is in /sbin/uname (statically linked version) and the other is in /usr/bin/uname. If another binary shows up in a different path, then something goofy is going on with your system.
Remember - truss is your friend :)
    truss -vall -rall -wall -f /usr/bin/uname -n
    or
    truss -vall -rall -wall -f /sbin/uname -n
This should give you a REALLY good idea of why uname is failing with that error. It would be a good idea to see if both versions of uname are giving the same error. But from what I know, uname doesn't create anything so that error is kinda wEiRd.
