Multiple resource objects provision issue in OIM10g

Hi Team,
We're facing an issue regarding multiple access policy trigger for a specific resource object in OIM.
The scenario is whenever we try to process the enablement or creation of users through flat file recon, users are created / enabled with multiple resource objects in their resource profiles.
When we checked in User Resource Access History report, we observe that the access policy has been triggering multiple times for these users resulting in users with multiple resource objects. Amongst these one shows provisioned/Enabled and the other shows provisioning/in some cases Provisioned/Enabled.
Please advise as this has become an ongoing issue and also has led into data mess-up.
Appreciate your help on this one..
Regards,
Sagar

The terminology sounds a little confusing to me:
If you mean you wanna create multiple IT Resources for a single IT Resource Instance so that the user can select the appropriate IT Resource during request creation -> All good upto here. But then since the Object/Request Form attached to a resource would be the same, so any user would always see the same form fields for creationg request.
Example: Users creating request for Oracle Database Accounts but different server locations
If it means you just need to create multiple Resource Objects then its a straighaway standard requirement and could be handled with normal Connector Development methodology.
Example: Users creating requests for different resources like Oracle Database Accounts & Active Directory Accounts

  • Creating Multiple Resource Objects for OOTB Connectors

    All,
I am trying to create a second AD User resource object for the OOTB connector. I would like to think that the AD Connector (and all connectors, for that matter) was designed to handle the creation of multiple Resource Objects for the same Resource Types, but am I wrong? It doesn't seem like the OIM Connector can handle this easily.
Has anyone created multiple resource objects for a connector? Is this a fairly simple task, or will it require a large effort? Is it even possible? Any pointers?
    Thanks!

I will provide a little help with the duplication. I found the best way to do it is to import the original connector. Go through the different pieces making each one have a unique name, that is not part of any of the other piece names. You need to have unique names for the following:
    1. Resource Object
    2. Process Definition - Provisioning
    3. IT Resource
    4. Form - Process
    5. Scheduled Task
After you import the connector, rename each of the following to something unique. I would also update your process form to have a default value of your IT Resource, as well as your scheduled task values to point to the new unique names. Export the 5 items, no dependecies. The adapters will all be the same. Use find and replace for the values and then import the new XML. If it works, duplicate the XML for each of the new workflows you want to create.

  • Question about multiple resource objects using the same OID target account

In Oracle Identity Manager 11g with OID connector as a target system.
Is it possible to create multiple resources that use the same OID IT Resource. Each resource is responsible for provisioning certain OID attributes of the same OID account. For example 'OID User' would provision the basic account and a separate resource called 'Department1 User' would provision attributes not provisioned by OID User.

Yes, definitely. Here is how it would work:
    - You would have to make sure that the resource OID User always gets provisioned first, so that the account exist when these additional attributes are being set for the user via the other resource Department1 User. You can do this with Resource Dependency in OIM.
    - Now for using the same IT Resource, just create the new form and in the IT Resource type form field, map the properties to the same IT Resource Definition, so when the Provisioning Process gets invoked it uses the same IT Resource instead.
    Thanks

  • Creating multiple resource objects at once

    Hi,
Business roles are multivalued attributes and in order for OIM to manage them, I am creating them as resources. These resources will have role id and role name as its fields. I have close to 50 biz roles in the system. Is there any way I can create them in bulk than having to create the resource obj, process defn. and process forms for each of them manually?
    Thanks,
    Supreetha

You can create one workflow and uniquely identity the objects names such as:
RO_NAME, PROV_PROC_DEF, APPR_PROC_DEF, UD_FORM and so on to identify all the objects. Export the workflow. Come up with either code, or some way to find and replace these values with your list of names for your other workflows. Then import the workflows.
You could try and come up with code that takes a template, and then generates a new xml file with a list of values.

  • Error while provisioning resource object to any user

I get below error while trying to provision or reconcile any user to AD resource object. This was working fine till yesterday and suddenly started behaving otherwise.
This error occurs while provisioning to the user i.e., as we de-selected auto save option on the process definition, it does not show up the process form while manually provisioning the resource instead show DOBJ.UPDATE_FAILED error on the web console.
I tried provisioning the resource by removing all the pre-populate adapters from the process form with no luck
This is on OIM 9.1.0.2 BP12
Has anyone faced similar issue before or any pointers to resolve this ??

    Duplicate Post

  • Duplicate Resource Objects  are displayed while provisioning the resource

Duplicate Resource Objects are displayed while provisioning the resource to organization after creating a new workflow through export and import process.
A workfolw already exists in the environment and I am trying to replicate the work flow with a different name . So i import all the components related to provisioning workflow rename the names of the components and make the necessary changes and import it back. after this I am getting Duplicate Resource Objects being displayed while provisioning the resource to organization .plz help.its urgent

I have tried this process thrice not able to solve this problem ......unchecking allow multiple ..i don t think matters as this is provisioning to org ...n what i am telling is the list from which u select the resources to be provisioned --that list shows duplicate resource object names at a time..Each time I import an xml the number of same resource object names being displayed in the list increases ...So If I have imported three workflows then (say Resorce Object AD) appears thrice in the list. I have not given the resource objects same name in all the workflows for this to happen

  • Resource object not showing while provisioning a User

Simple task but I am not able to fix this.
I have a dummy resource whcih I created for some testing. However I am not able to see this resource when I try to provision a user to this resource.
    Any Ideas?
FYI:.I have checked Allow SelfService,Allow All,Alow Multiple and Autolaunch check boxes
    Thanks
    -Mahi

I have created a simple provisioning process for this..the process defination is of type approval .In there created a new task called "Manager Approval and in assigment assigned it to user's manager.
I have already selected the resource object in the Object Name field.
OIMUSER007...Do I really need to create a seperate IT Resource in this case?
Its just a simple application like eg "WATCH"..
    Actually,
I had earlier implemented this resource with Process Deffination as *provisioning*..
Now I wanted to implement the workflow for this..For this Since I cant delete the process deffination..what I did I assigned the earlier process deff(provisioning to some other resource object(test) and created a new process deff(Approval) for this...

  • Provision one OIM account to multiple resource accounts

    Hello everyone,
We have a requirement to provision some OIM accounts more than once to the same target source. For example provision some user to two accounts in the target source, one normal account with the same user ID and another administrator account prefixed with "HS_". Is it possible?
    Thanks in advance

It is possible as long as you check "allow multiple" in the resource object. Also, if you want to do auto-provisioning using Access Policy, you need to be on 9.1.0.2 BP12. Earlier release doesn't support provisioning to multiple instance of a same resource object using access policy.

  • Issue in Adding Custom Status Defnition for a resource object

    Hi,
We have installed OIM and patch it to 9.102. We have created one custom resource object (flat file connector) for reconciliation. As part of requirement we need to define three status for this resource object - Enabled, Suspended and Disabled. As Enabled and Disabled status are available OOTB, i have added 'Suspended' status under the Status Definition in resource object. Now the issue is that if we are passing reconcile user status to either Enabled or Disabled, the status is changing fine on Linked user resource object. But if the status passed as 'Suspended' the resource account status of linked user (OIM) is not changed.
We have mapped the resource side Status attribute to OIM_OBJECT_STATUS under process definition. I also made the entry 'Suspended' in 'Lookup.Object Object Status' lookup to see if any help, but no luck.
The 'Suspended' status is successfully added in OST table against the object key and on manually updating the status key against the resource object it is reflecting 'Suspended' status through admin console. User-->Resource Profile
Does anyone have any clue if the requirement is correct (adding a custom object status) and so, where i am going wrong. Thanks in advance.

A quick doubt..If i have written down a process task and calling this on completion of 'Reconciliation Update Received' and in this process task , a adapter is attached which is updating the resource account status (ost_status) on the basis of some custom attributes. This task is working fine and updating the status. But the issue is that once this task is complete, the mapping in Process definition (loginDisabled <MetaDirectory> --> OIM_OBJECT_STATUS) overrides the status.
Per my understanding the flow is going like this-->
    1. Reconciliation run
    2. Event Linked
    3. Reconciliation Update Received
    4. Call The custom Task --> Update the OST Status
    5. Update the OST Status per the mapping OIM_OBJECT_STATUS.
Is there any way we can implement that the status update in (5) occurs before (4) so that my custom task status can override the (5) as per my business requirement.

  • Provision a Resource Object to Organization automatically in OIM 11g

    Hi All,
How to provision a resource Object to Organizations automatically in OIM 11g.
Can we use Access Policy for this , if not , is there any other way to solve this.
    Regards

Are you referring to creating an resource object (e.g. group) on the Organization itself (as opposed to users in that Organization) ? If so this can be done from a post-process event handler on the Organization object.

  • Provision non root resource object

    Hi all!
I have sucessfully made configuration with OIM and ESSO-PG with MS ADAM based repository. Now I'd like to provision some non root resource objects to my repository for user, but I wonder how to do it. I have one process - AD USER, and most of my users reside in AD. Do I need to create dummy process definition to attach Passlogic task for it? Or there is another solution to acomplish this?

I mean provision non root resource object such as new credentials set for application in esso repository (in esso repository it is vGOSecret class). For example I have root resource object for esso (one for esso repository and it is related to AD_USER process) and I can have many non root resources objects (for example DB, iPlanet and these are related to iPlanet_User, DB_User process). In my configuration I'd like to provision new non resources objects for users, but my users are in AD mainly. Thanks for Your reply!

  • Ordering Resource Provisioning Issues

    Hello Kind IDM Folks,
We are having a small issue with some of the automatic provisioning IDM handles through roles. We have a role that will provision two resources. One resource is our definitive LDAP resource, and the other resource calls to our LDAP resource to get user attributes from. What we are starting to notice, is that the resource that requires LDAP is being called to provision first, then the LDAP provision is happening. So the first resource provisioning errors out. Then the account is loaded into LDAP fine. The next time the account is updated / saved, a provisioning event is fired off and it works fine.
Is there any way to control the order that the resources are provisioned to when they are assigned by a role?
    Thanks!
    Jim

Yes! Order the resources in the order desired and then check the "Update resources in order" checkbox (below the Resources multi-select).
    That setting manifests itself as
    <Role ... ordered='true' ...>
    [etc etc etc]
    </Role>Hope this helps.

  • Special character issue with Resource Object in OIM 11g

    Hello
While creating Resource Object with special character '/' in OIM 11g, it's not allowing me.
    For ex: Peoplesoft Finance/Reporting
Do we have any other workaround without changing the Resource Object name??
    Thanks for your help.

Nothing is there in system configuration related to special character.
