  • Export/Import the mapping value used in Value Mapping Function

    I used value mapping function, so I defined some mapping data at Integration Directory. now I need migration from development xi to production xi, so How to export the data I input at development xi and later import it? or anyone could provide other solution for replacing value mapping function?
    Hope from your helps

    Hi Spring Tang,
      You can export your mapping object in .mte format.
      For this press ctrl+shift and right click in the
      mapping editor. Then go to tools and export the same.
      Similarly you can import the mapping object.
      Hope this will solve your problem.

  • Set Default values for Value mapping

    Hi All,
    I have some specific value set for which I have used a Value mapping into Message Mapping .
    My problem is I want to set a default value for the target value and I dont know how to set it in Value mapping ..
    And also if you can suggest me how to set target value for Null source value ...
    Thanks in Advance..

    hi
    Take a constant for sender side and give the value for that constant.After that take a value mapping function fron Conversions of Mapping Functions.
    And give the values of  Value Mapping Context as :http://sap.com/xi/XI
    After that define Agency and Schema for sender and Refceiver with values what ever u have manually.

  • Fields in Value mapping function

    Hello,
    I am trying to use value mapping function in XI.
    I don't know how to input values from data type fields directly to agency or schema.
    Company "ABC" -> Agency "ABC"
    Code "XXX" -> Schema "XXX"
    There are too many different types of values to link.
    It is for not inputting those manually in value mapping function.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Regarding  Exception handling for  Value mapping

    Hi
    We have a requirement for resending the message (using  SXMB_MONI)for Value mapping and other message mapping related errors . Is there any others way we could achieve this , Any help on this is appreciated ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jishi

    Hi Jishi,
    I don't think that SXMB_MONI is the solution.
    If you have a mapping error this can belong to two things:
    a) either your mapping is wrong
    b) or your message is wrong.
    In case a) you have to correct your mapping
    In b) The sending system must look what happend.
    In my opinion in both cases (a & b) the process must be restartet from the source system. That's the way we do it.
    Additionally we send a information message in the exception branch to the sending system

  • SAP XI 3.0 Same source for different target in std Value mapping function

    Hi,
    We have replicated 4 value mapping entries from R3 to XI having the same Context , Agency , Schema and value for source, but each of the 4 values has the same Context and Agency but different Schema and Value respectively.
    To illusstate :
    Source                             |Target
    Context Agency Schema    Value -----Context Agency   Schema     Value
    CS1      AS1      SS1      1        CT1       AT1      ST1       A
    CS1      AS1      SS1      1        CT1       AT1      ST2       A
    CS1      AS1      SS1      1        CT1       AT1      ST3       B
    This value mapping is not working and we always get the source value as the result.
    We are wondering if the reason for this is that we use the same source for different targets. But we are not 100 % sure of it.
    When I read the documentation on Value mapping or when we use the value mapping standard function in graphical mapping, we pass the context , agency and schema of the source and target respectively and the source value to get the target value, and this combination is always unique in our case as seen in the above example.
    Has anyone faced this kind of an issue, if yes I would appreciate if anyone could help us resolve this problem.
    Thanks in advance.
    regards,
    Advait

    Hi Advait,
    From the below what I understand is that you are not able to do value mapping for the follwoing
    1     A
    2     A
    3     B
    As value mapping allow one to one mapping only. Please do it like as mentioned below
    1     1*A
    2     2*A
    3     3*B
    Then in the graphical mapping of Integration Repository do the mapping for the same as shown below
    source field > VALUEMAPPING> UDF--> TARGET Field
    In UDF suppress the value of  1* , 2* , 3* which can be done as follows
    create one UDF with one input field
    //write the code as below to suppress the field
    return input.substring(2);
    Here the davantage of using 1* , 2* , 3* etc is that you have the option to use value mapping for 100 values which I think is not normally the case for any Interface.
    If you have same source you can do the same thing for that.
    Hope this helps you to resolve your query.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Partial match for Value Mapping in Import Manager

    Hello Experts,
    We have a import map which is used to do mass insert of data into the main table. This is done as & when required by the end user.
    We have a qualified lookup field which has a flat lookup filed as the Non-Qualifier. This flat lookup field is refering to a Lookup Flat table, which has mulitple dispay fields like Code,Name, Status etc. (14 fields in total) where as only the Code is the unique field.
    We have only the unique field in our source file which we use for the import. Since we have only a part of the display fields in the source, the automap functionality in the Value maping section doesn't work. It becomes very tedious for the user to manually map all the values for this field.
    Is there any way by which we can convert the source or target values in the import map, so that we can map the values using the Automap feature?
    Your help & suggestion for alternate approach is highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Uday
    P.S. We are using SAP MDM 5.5 SP6.

    Hi Uday,
    No need to enable remote key mapping for QLT. Please execute the below steps(stated with an example) -
    1.  Among all the fields in the referenced lookup table, identify the lookup fields and the tables they are looking up .
    For eg.If you have a lookup field as 'Country' as one of the fields, look up table will be 'Countries'
    2.For the identified lookup tables, set 'key mapping =Yes' in Console.
    For eg, For Country Lookup table ,set Key mapping to 'Yes'
    3.Import values into Lookup table (Import manager)/ Remote key update -
    In import manager, select source (local file) and destination as Countries flat table.This Table will be haing 2fields - Code and description.Clone the 'Code'field and map it to Remote key field in destination hierarchy.Map code and description to equivalent destination fields. Select 'Code' as matching field > Perform import into lookup table.
    Check if the records in countries table are updated with remote keys(in Data manager> right click on a record> select 'Edit key mappings' > view key mapping for the record)
    3.Import to Qualified table/Auto value mapping -
    Now, in the import map for qualified import , map the source field and destination field (of lookup type), all the values of this field will automatically map.
    Similarly, refresh remote keys mappings for all the lookup tables first and then you can see auto mappings of values happening for the lookup fields.

  • ABAP program and FB for value mapping replication

    Hi,
    we are using a 40B system and I want to use the value mapping replication in XI. To refill the data into the XI database I must write an ABAP and a function module to transfer the data out of R/3 into XI (via RFC). Has anybody an example how the program (and the FB) must look like? i.e I want to read table mvke and extract the materialnumber and the prodhierarchy.
    Thanks and best regards
    Arnold

    Hi Arnold,
    First you need a table type with a structure like follows:
    operation
    groupid
    context
    identifier
    agency
    scheme
    (corresponding to the Interface ValueMappingReplication)
    All used data elements should have type string or charXX
    for example: operation - char10, groupid - char32, rest - char120
    Next you create a function module with attribute 'remote-enabled module'.
    The import parameter is your new table structure.
    Next you create an ABAP program. Here an example:
    report z_value_mapping .
    tables mvke.
    data:
    p_value_mapping type zvalue_mapping,
    p_value_mapping_table type zvalue_mapping_table.
    p_value_mapping-operation = 'Insert'.
    p_value_mapping-context = 'http://xi.com/Material'.
    select * from mvke where matnr between '170' and '501'.
    check not mvke-prodh is initial.
    * Create a value mapping group to join two entries.
    * use a unique 32 digit number.
    concatenate '00000000000000' mvke-prodh into p_value_mapping-groupid.
    translate p_value_mapping-groupid using ' 0'.
    * Store the mapping source as first entry to the group
    p_value_mapping-identifier = mvke-matnr.
    p_value_mapping-agency = 'SenderAgency'.
    p_value_mapping-scheme = 'MATNR'.
    append p_value_mapping to p_value_mapping_table.
    * Store the mapping target as second entry to the group
    p_value_mapping-identifier = mvke-prodh.
    p_value_mapping-agency = 'ReceiverAgency'.
    p_value_mapping-scheme = 'PRODH'.
    append p_value_mapping to p_value_mapping_table.
    endselect.
    * Push data to XI
    call function 'Z_VALUE_MAPPING' in background task
      destination 'IS_XID'
      exporting
        value_mapping       = p_value_mapping_table.
        commit work.
    Import the RFC to the Integration Builder, create a mapping between your RFC and the interface ValueMappingReplication.
    Check this Blog for additional steps:
    /people/sreekanth.babu2/blog/2005/02/23/value-mapping-replication
    Choose names for context, agency and scheme which are useful your scenario.

  • Calling AIF for Value Mapping from standard ES

    Hello All,
    Is there any option of using SAP AIF for standard ES (for adding value mapping). We have requirement where value mapping needs to be done for standard ES. I was thinking of making explicit call to AIF using following method :
    * Call method to AIF
         /aif/cl_enabler_proxy=>process_message(
         exporting  is_input = input
          iv_exception_classname = ' ' ).
    However this method doesn't have any exporting parameter to get the changed data back.
    Is there any workaround ?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Dijesh Tanna

    Hello Gita,
    Both these notes talks about monitoring the existing interfaces / ES using SAP AIF. However, doesn't talk about enhancing existing ES.
    Secondly , I had look at function module /AIF/FILE_PROCESS_DATA. However, question is from where we should call this. I was aiming the EXECUTE_ASYNCHRONOUS method of ES and calling this FM from implicit enhancement spot. However, the structure INPUT inside EXECUTE_ASYNCHRONOUS is not changeable. So even if AIF performs value mapping , I can't pass that modified data to standard implementation of SAP ES.
    Have a look at below code :
    You can see that I passed INPUT to my custom function module which calls AIF internally and performs value mapping , checks etc.. and return the modified data in OUTPUT but SAP's standard code is still using INPUT in subsequent code. I can't assign OUTPUT to INPUT as it is import parameter not changeable.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Dijesh Tanna

    I understand that OUt parameter should not be used in funtions... Then I am eager to know, why oracle has provided the opton of OUT Parameter in funtion creation ? Hope you can explain that..This is an option is many languages.
    And there is valid use for it. PL/SQL however does not implement the full solution. An OUT parameter is essentially passing parameters by reference and not passing it by value.
    Passing by reference means passing a pointer to the function/procedure to the variable in the caller. This allows the function/procedure to directly reference the value in the caller.
    Passing by value means that the value from the variable in the caller is copied to the stack space of the function/procedure being called. The function/procedure thus has its own local copy of that value.
    That could be a performance and resource problem when the caller has a large data structure and the entire structure needs to be copied from the caller to the called procedure/function. In such a case it is a lot faster (and less memory needed) to simply pass a pointer to that structure to the function/procedure being called.
    And this is basically what an OUT parameter does - it allows PL/SQL code direct access to write into the variable of the calling code.
    In some cases you may have a large data structure, want to pass it by reference, but do not want the function/procedure being called to change it. You do not want to allow it modify your large data structure. You simply want to pass a pointer and allow read access to the function/procedure.
    In other languages, such a parameter is defined as a constant - as constants cannot be changed. So the parameter signature will look something like the following:
    create or replace function FooFunc( largeStruct CONSTANT IN OUT NOCOPY SomeDataType ) return SomeOtherDataType is ..And this is the only time that you should use an OUT parameter (passing by reference) in a function - when the function parameter is a large data structure. At the same time, the function is disallowed from changing that OUT parameter. It is passed as an OUT parameter simply to increase call performance and reduce memory requirements.
    PL/SQL unfortunately does not support this - allowing a value to be passed as a constant reference.
    As for why PL/SQL supports it the way it does - it does not mean that because PL/SQL supports OUT parameters for functions, it should be used. PL/SQL also supports the GoTo statement. Simply because it supports a specific feature does not mean that it is a good idea to use it.

  • Whatu0092s the name of the table used for value mapping?

    Hi,
    Does anyone know what’s the name of the table where the value mapping values are stored in XI?
    Br.samuli

    Hello,
    The table name will be XI_RUNVALMAPGR. It is the Java Scheme table.
    So you can see the table only from DB Management Tool, for instance Enterprise Manager for SQL Server.

  • Reg: Default value option - is it for value mapping????

    Hi,
    Recently i had seen an option of mapping a default value or error out the message when value mapping (???) doesnt fetch the conversion.  I'm confused if i'm referring to value mapping or any such functionalitywhich comes as a standard pack....certainly not the options u have in recv determination. Can anyone pls enlighten on what it is exactly. I'm left clueless as i barely remember where i got to see tht option from.
    Note: def not the default node in mapping too
    thanks
    P.S

    Recently i had seen an option of mapping a default value or error out the message when value mapping (???) doesnt fetch
    the conversion
    Where can he find the option Map with Default value OR error-out the message ..... is it in Value Mapping or in some other functionality

  • Need help on Null value check function

    Hey guys,
    I need to create a function that will accept two values and perform a comparison on them and based on whether or not they're different, return true or false.
    Initially I had no idea about the problems of comparing when a value was null, hence the need for a function, as I need to compare many fields of rows of a table in order to find what has changed.
    Now, I think I have the NULL check logic in place :
    IF R1.X IS NULL THEN
         IF R2.X IS NULL THEN
              RETURN FALSE; -- both R1 and R2 are null so no diffs
         ELSE
              RETURN TRUE; -- R1 is null but R2 is not, so it's a diff
         END IF;
    ELSE
         IF R2.X IS NULL THEN
              RETURN TRUE; -- R1 is not null but R2 is so a diff
         ELSE
              IF R1.X != R2.X THEN
                   RETURN TRUE; -- both not null but different
              ELSE
                   RETURN FALSE; -- both not null but equal
              END IF;
         END IF;
    END IF;My problem is that I don't know how, or if i can, create function that can simply accept two column values without defining their datatypes in the function sig. Reason being that while I will always be comparing like-for-like datatypes, I won't always be comparing the "same" like-for-like datatypes; so as I loop through 100 table rows (differentiated by a date), I'll physically compare all the fields in the rows one by one, and in one instance i'm comapring two NUMBERs and then two VARCHARs and then two DATEs, etc.
    What i didn't want was duplicate func's that are all the same apart from the sig's.
    Is there an easy(ier) way to accomplish this? Is there a more "generic" value type I could use? basically i just want to have a function like :
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION(val1 VALUE, val2 VALUE)
    And not multiple like :
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION(val1 NUMBER, val2 NUMBER)
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION(val1 DATE, val2 DATE)
    and so on.
    Edited by: user11258962 on 28-Jun-2010 09:02

    You can use function overloading. So, although three function will exist, they will all be called the same name, so your code will always call a single function
    create or replace package pkg_compare as
      function is_Alike (p1 in number
                        ,p2 in number) return boolean ;
      function is_Alike (p1 in varchar2
                        ,p2 in varchar2) return boolean;
      function is_Alike (p1 in date
                        ,p2 in date) return boolean;
    end pkg_Compare;
    create or replace package body pkg_compare as
      function is_Alike (p1 in number
                        ,p2 in number) return boolean as
        begin
          return ( nvl(p1,0) = nvl(p2,-1) );
      end is_Alike;
      function is_Alike (p1 in varchar2
                        ,p2 in varchar2) return boolean as
        begin
          return ( nvl(p1,'X') = nvl(p2,'Z') );
      end is_Alike;
      function is_Alike (p1 in date
                        ,p2 in date) return boolean as
        begin
          return ( nvl(p1,sysdate) = nvl(p2,sysdate-1) );
      end is_Alike;

  • Need basic documentation for Adobe Reader X

    Can anyone point me to documentation that will explain what document properties are needed to be able to highlight text in a document?  The document "Adobe_reader_x_help.pdf" does not discuss this at all.  I need to highlight text in an academic document, and all permissions are enabled except Document Asembly, Signing, and Creation of Template Pages.
    "Commenting" permission is available, and an ordinary person of a basic level of intelligence would assume that includes highlighting of text. At the same time, "Content Copying" is set to Allowed but I can't seem to do that either, so I am left wondering whether this is an idiotic feature designed by an idiot or merely an idiotic bug.
    FWIW Adobe is BEGGING to be slapped with an unfair trade practices class action based on its blatant attempts to leverage its monopoly over the PDF file format into sales of expensive-*** Acrobat just to perform basic features, like highlighting text, that actually WORK without having to purchase a product for hundreds of dollars.

    Adobe Reader X (on the desktop) can highlight text in any PDF file provided it is not directly forbidden by a security setting - so any unsecured PDF can be highlighted, as can any secured PDF with "commenting" allowed in the security properties. Highlights are just another form of comment.
    Previous versions of Adobe Reader could not apply highlights without Reader-extended permissions set by Acrobat or LiveCycle, but Adobe decided with version X to allow comments and sticky notes by default.
    ...and FWIW, the PDF format is an open ISO standard, used by hundreds of software developers besides Adobe. Yes of course the Acrobat Family sets the standard for working with PDF content, as Adobe invented the thing; but they don't have a monopoly by any means except in specific areas of DRM, rich media and very advanced document editing. For example OS X can read and write PDFs natively, but to create files with scripting and interactivity you need a commercial application such as Acrobat.
