Photoshop is no longer displaying anything in workspace.

I'm using a PC, I changed resolution of image in Photoshop CC 2014 from 72 to 300. It was working fine until I closed and reopened the program. Now, none of my project files are displaying any images in the workspace, this goes for old and new projects. Please, help!

Thank you so much for the help, Trevor!! I really appreciate it. Here's what happened:
I opened two documents with your first suggestion in mind, a 300 res/11 x 17 and the same document but, 72 res/11 x 17. The same problem occurred and when I tried your first suggestion, Photoshop crashed. I waited a few minutes and opened the lower res poster first and it came up perfectly fine, except with a translucent red line on the top of the transparent background which seemed to go away by me creating a layer and deleting it. I then opened the 300 res poster alongside the 72 res and it came up just fine. Also, re-sample has been checked in my use of the program.
I'm rather unsure as to what to do from here but, perhaps it has something to do with me computer competency?

  • My maps app has suddenly gone BLANK, no longer displays anything but a creamy brown background and a blue dot, I've see other issues on other devices also, but not a single response from apple explaining how to resolve it.  Anyone else?

    Before I left for Thailand, I didn't have a single problem with my maps app, however on return, I've found that it no longer displays anything in the main map screen, hybrid and sattelite still show something (but aren't accurate), but in maps itself, all there is is a blank screen. This not only affects maps, but all my other programs that are obviously linked somehow to apple maps are now doing the same thing... Nike Running, iSmoothRun, Argus, all now show my route, but it's overlaid over a BLANK map area.
    Anyone see this? and know how to fix it?

    I've done soft and hard resets, power off resets, I've deleted the three apps that are associated with maps and reinstalled them, the only thing I haven't done is a full restore, which from other peoples experiences I've see hasn't fixed the issue. So, I've avoided that because I don't want the 7.0.5 update (my 5S is a China coded model)

  • My Ipad 2 no longer displays anything.It may come on for a few seconds,but then half of the screen goes completely black, and the system becomes non responsive to all bottons. At other times all four sides of the display becomes black, about 1/4 inch.

    Can anyone help me on this one? I got my IPAD 2 in June 2011. It never gave problems until a few days ago. It began to "hang", becoming non-responsive to all buttons. Then just yesterday morning, it went totally black. The display no longer displays. The Battery was charged 96%. I tried the power adapter, but had the same result. I tried the resetting, holding the two buttons for 10 seconds or more but no result. I have already restored it to the factory setting,(via my PC) and put back my apps etc. But after all this I still cannot see anything on the screen.
    I know it is still working, because from time to timer I hear the message alerts, and other sounds.
    Waht is the likely solution?

    Try a Reset...
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
    If no joy... Try a Restore...
    1: Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
    2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
    3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the steps in this article to force the device into recovery mode.

  • Photoshop CS4 doesn't display anything

    I recently bought an Nvidia GTX260 graphics card hoping it would boost performance also in Photoshop. After installing the latest driver directly from the Nvidia website, I still have this problem: when I open a project, there is no error but nothing is displayed in the drawing area (so no canvas and no layers). The application works fine if I turn off OpenGL drawing. However I was hoping to use this feature to improve performance.
    I tried:
    1. Reinstalling the driver. Also I tried switching the openGL drawing option off before reinstalling and then switching it on after installation.
    2. Enabling and disabling each advanced option I have to see if a particular one causes the problem.
    I also mention I reinstalled windows and all my software and still does not work.
    I was using NVidia 7300 graphics card before and experienced no difficulties.
    I'm running Windows Vista x64 on a intel q6600 platform with 4GB RAM.
    If you know of any solution to this problem please help.

    Thanks dec9. I did as you suggested.
    This is becoming really weird.
    So here is what I did:
    I download and install DriverSweeper (latest version). It (surprisingly) erases all the Nvidia dlls and files so when I reboot, I have to reinstall Nvidia drivers for my graphics card. I install them and reboot. I open Photoshop and switch on OpenGL drawing and (although I did not expect it) it worked. I could see the canvas with the drop-shadow effect. I also mention here that when I switched on the OpenGL drawing feature, my graphics card name was not displayed in that rectangle above Advanced Options (usually it says what graphics card Photoshop detected).
    So far so good.
    I then exit photshop and restart my computer again. I get the same problem. It does not display anything. I tried a couple of times (also enabling and disabling OpenGL) and still nothing.
    What is also "funny" is that if I move the layers on the canvas, the changes are reflected in the thumbnail of the layer in the Layers dock. And while I drag the window containing the project, I can see my work on the canvas. It is when I complete the drag operation that the canvas dissapears again.
    It's definitely a driver thing.
    Thanks for your help.

  • My iphone no longer displays anything through the HDMI connector

    I purchased a cheap 30-pin to HDMI connector (big mistake) but was able to see my iPhone screen on my TV.  I then added a Lightening to 30-pin connector so I could display my girlfriend's iPhone 5C screen on the TV.  But I had problem taking these two connectors apart and the end of one of them started to come apart.  Pushed it back in.  When I then tried to display her 5C screen, nothing worked.  Then I went back to my iPhone 4 and it also no longer worked.  I thought the cable was bad so I then purchased a genuine Apple 30-pin to HDMI connector and Apple Lightening to 30-pin connector.  But I still don't see anything on the TV for either of the iPhones BUT my iPad 2 does display data on the TV.  Conclusion:  Did I short out something in both iPhone internal connectors?  Has anyone ever see this kind of problem?  BTW, both phones can still be charged without any problem.
    Thanks for the help.

    I'd start by calling VZW support.  They are really good in a situations like this.  I work with them a lot in the Enterprise space.  Sounds like your network/roaming settings are messed up.

  • LG monitor won't display anything via VGA cable

    After updating to Quicktime 7.5 my screen on my LG lcd monitor starting moving up and down when using my mouse. After fiddling with the display controls to lock it back down it no longer displays anything through the VGA cable connected via the DVI adaptor to the monitor.
    I am using a borrowed DVI cable to use the monitor, but I have to return that tomorrow. Tried permissions without any luck. Is there any fix for this problem so I can reuse the VGA cable without having to buy a DVI cable. Also, is there any solution to the floating screen problem?

    Thanks. That solved the zooming problem. The monitor will still not work with the VGA cable though. Looks like I'll have to get a DVI cable. I had one when I got the monitor but now I can't find it.

  • Photoshop CC 2014 No Longer Displaying Blue In The Color Picker Or Workspace, Only Purples.

    Photoshop CC 2014 is no longer displaying blue in the color picker and on screen, only purple, violet, magenta, etc. I think it started about 3 days ago. Our current model 2.9 GHz iMac with NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 1024 MB Graphics Card and 8 GB RAM is calibrated to 100% via Spyder 4 Express, and reflects that in every application except Photoshop CC 2014, so I know it isn't the monitor. Blue is the primary color we use in many of our designs, so this is of upmost importance. I really appreciate any help you could provide, If this isn't fixed ASAP, I don't know what we'll do.
    Thank you so much!

    Ok, so old files are purple, but new files are blue.
    I took a screenshot of my Photoshop work are using Cmd-Shift-3 and it places the screen shot as a png file on my desktop, which I upload with my reply via the Camera icon in the forum reply toolbar.
    I loaded a new RGB/8 file, set the bottom status bar to indicate the color profile (sRGB) and made sure the file tab on the top is visible, so I can see it is RGB/8. Then I used Cmd-shift-k to show my Color Settings before taking the screenshot. The point is to try and see where the problem is coming from, so make a screenshot just like mine with your old purple file.

  • I re-downloaded my Photoshop recently and Adobe Bridge no longer displays my Nikon NEF files and Camera Raw will not open them.

    I re-downloaded my Photoshop recently and Adobe Bridge no longer displays my Nikon NEF files and Camera Raw will not open them.  I get a message saying that Camera Raw does not support my camera type but it always has in the past.  The bridge no longer shows the picture view of my NEF files.  These are Nikon NEF files from the Nikon 5100 DSLR camera.  How do I fix this?

    I re-downloaded my Photoshop recently and Adobe Bridge no longer displays my Nikon NEF files and Camera Raw will not open them.  I get a message saying that Camera Raw does not support my camera type but it always has in the past.
    When you re-installed Photoshop, you also re-installed the version of Camera Raw which shipped with Photoshop - in other words you reverted to an older version of Camera Raw which does not support the D5100.
    Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
    The D5100 was first supported in Camera Raw version 6.4.
    In Photoshop, click Help > Updates to update Camera Raw.

  • PNG files no longer display correctly...PLEASE HELP!

    Hi there, I just recently upgraded to Final Cut Studio 2. I have a project that I was working on prior to the upgrade and now making some changes in DVD Studio Pro 4.2.0. In my menus I am using a motion menu as the background and a PNG file created in Photoshop with transparent layers set as a Drop Zone so that the menu background can still be seen.
    These PNG files are no longer displaying correctly. It's really hard to explain except to say that anything that was transparent is now displaying a solid white. I have trashed the prefs and restarted with no improvement.
    Does anyone have any ideas? I was just going to make a small change for the client and now the whole project is not right.
    Many thanks, Simon.

    Hi:
    In DVDSP preferences, under Menu encoding settings change it from hardware based to software based or vice versa depending on what do you have now selected. Build again and check if it's solved.
    Hope that helps !

  • MSI 970a-g46 motherboard starts up but doesn't display anything.

    Hello, I'm having problems with a new motherboard I got from Amazon, specifically the 970a-g46. The following are my specs in use with this motherboard:
    CPU: AMD Phenom 2 x4 965
    GPU: nVidia GeForce 560 GTX
    Ram: 8gb Kingston HyperX Fury 1866mhz.
    PSU: Corsair 650TX (650 Watts)
    Compatability-wise, everything checks out so I wasn't expecting problems at first. All the other parts excluding the ram I've used before. Here's exactly what happens:
    I power up the computer after everything is installed and connected. The 4 phase LEDs turn on which tell me the CPU is powered up and working (so I assume). I don't get any beeps or buzzs mainly because I don't see any speaker/buzzer on this board. The monitor blinks and while it is connected to my GPU, it doesn't display anything, it's just a black screen. I can leave it on for a few minutes and I'll still not see anything happen. An important observation here is that my keyboard which has LEDs will turn on after a short period of time in boot-up (with my older set-up that is). This does not happen ever regardless of how long I leave my computer on on this new mobo.
    I've gone over and checked/tested numerous things:
    * The PCI-E and ATX cables for the GPU, motherboard and CPU are all connected and secured (I've tried both 4-pin and 8-pin connections for the CPU, neither help).
    * I've tried jumping the CMOS multiple times to no avail.
    * I tested the ram on another computer and it worked just fine on that one.
    * I've tested the motherboard without a GPU and it still does nothing (though I think that's because this motherboard doesnt have its own integrated GPU for some reason).
    So far the only possible reasons why my computer is not working is because of my PSU (very unlikely as it's only a year old and it's a Corsair, which I've heard is very reliable in the long-run), GPU (It is quite a few years old but even without the GPU my computer still doesn't go past boot-up), CPU (possible due to its age and how many freaking time I've reseated it (probably around 8 times) so I wouldn't doubt it, but before I put it into this motherboard I did check its pins and they were all there and placed nice and smoothly into the socket.) and finally the motherboard (it's possible that this is just a defected motherboard and giving me a super hard time which would be a first in all the years I"ve spent computer building).
    The best case scenario of course is me giving some kind of oversight to how I transferred over the parts and connectors. I might've missed something obvious to please any advice/insight on how I can solve this problem would be greatly appreciated
    EDIT: Some other things I did but forgot to mention:
    * Checked ground nut things and ensured they matched the specifications of the motherboard ATX; only 6 are under the board and each one is aligned up with the holes on the board as designed.
    * Tried booting up without powering the CPU. Only one phase LED light came on, still the same problem (for an obvious reason this time now).
    * Re-seated GPU multiple times, re-connected cables multiple times.
    What I have NOT done is re-seat the CPU because I am almost out of acetone so I would need to get another supply of that which won't be until tomorrow. I also have not re-seated everything back on my older motherboard to check if it still works. Tomorrow I'll most likely do that and if I find that the old motherboard works flawlessly then that tells me that the new motherboard I got is either defected or there's some compatability issue I"m missed out on.
    EDIT 2: Just found a speaker and plugged it into the motherboard. Booted it up and I got no beeps whatsoever. So this mobo is giving me no video activity (there is a signal it's just blank), and no beeps from the motherboard. I have no idea what that could mean at this point.
    EDIT 3: I decided to test a few things with the new speaker I just got. First I removed ram and tried running, I got 3 beeps which I assume is the beep sequence of faulty/no ram. Removed the power to CPU and the GPU itself individually, gave no beeps this time.

    What's the serial number of your MB? Needed to determine what BIOS may be on the MB. Exactly which version of the CPU is it? There were several different 965 CPUs and they required different BIOS versions, 1.2, 1.9,2.2 depending on which CPU you actually have.
     Also another problem may be that native memory supported by your CPU is DDR3-1333, not 1866
     None of the supported CPUs have integrated graphics, any MB graphics would be in the chipset, not CPU. Examples would be 785G, 880G
    Thank you very much rhradacut! The problem was that the mobo for whatever reason was forcing 1866mhz on my CPU when it only supported up to 1600mhz. I had to install a spare ddr3 module to downclock it so that I could access the BIOS and manually set the DRAM timing to 1600mhz for it to work. That's a very strange problem that I figured would've been auto-resolved by the hardware, and would also be a big problem if I didn't have any spare DDR3 ram to work with.
    Once again thanks for helping out on solving my problem.

  • HTML text no longer displays in text editor

    Aloha folks -
    We've been using iweb for years now and have used Dreamweaver to edit the html files with no problems. However, it seems like anything we do now no longer opens completely.
    Example: Lots of text here. This is shown by viewing source in Safari.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en">
    <head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
    <meta name="Generator" content="iWeb 2.0.4" />
    <meta name="iWeb-Build" content="local-build-20081119" />
    <meta name="viewport" content="width=800" />

    <!--[if IE]><link rel='stylesheet' type='text/css' media='screen,print' href='PencilBot_files/PencilBotIE.css'/><![endif]-->
    <script type="text/javascript" src="Scripts/iWebSite.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="Scripts/iWebImage.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="PencilBot_files/PencilBot.js"></script>
    </head>
    <body style="background: #ffffff; margin: 0pt; " onload="onPageLoad();">
    </body>
    </html>
    Same index.html file opened in Dreamweaver:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"><html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><head><title></title><meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url= PencilBot/PencilBot.html" /></head><body></body></html>
    That's all I get. Same in Text Wrangler. Text Edit doesn't show ANYTHING.
    Seems to be like this for all our iweb sites. All that used to open perfectly fine in Dreamweaver.
    And all our Favicons no longer display.
    Running iweb 08 2.04.
    Any thoughts on this?
    Thanks,
    Denise

    That's all I get. Same in Text Wrangler. Text Edit doesn't show ANYTHING.
    You haven't understood what the index.html file created by iWeb does. It is very short and just redirects to the real page, in this case PencilBot.html. That's what you need to open. TextEdit is not showing anything is because you have it operating in Rich Text mode instead of the Plain Text mode required for html editing. Change the settings in TextEdit preferences to Plain Text and check the box for "ignore rich text commands in html files."

  • Photoshop window does not display unless connected to external monitor

    I use a MBP connected it to an Apple Cinema Display used as an external monitor (not a dual display) when in my studio.
    When I use Adobe Photoshop CS 5 without the monitor the image window does not display on the MBP. If I plug the external monitor in, the window is displayed correctly on the MBP. Photoshop is opening and "displaying" the image window offscreen. Nothing gets it back onscreen, except plugging in the external monitor.
    I often use Photoshop away from my studio so this is a big problem. PShop is essentially unusable unless connected to an external monitor.
    Is this a known issue?
    Any workarounds?
    Any ideas?
    There is a previous discussion on this topic from January 2012, but it remains open and unanswered. Hoping there are some new ideas. Thanks for the help.

    The MacOS still thinks the second display is available and valid -- so Photoshop puts the documents on the last used display and the OS doesn't give any errors.
    Once the OS notices the change in display configuration, Photoshop should go back to the main display and force images and dialogs back to the main display.
    Applications rely on the OS for the display configuration, and sometimes the OS gets confused or holds onto outdated configurations a bit too long...

  • Satellite M30X-111 screen doesn't display anything but external monitor works

    My laptop screen just doesn't display anything (look like when the computer is off) but when I connect the external monitor, then the desktop will be displayed on that monitor. I tried to recover the laptop using the recovery disk and it worked again, but today, it stopped working again.
    I again have to plug in the external monitor, and after I tried to reboot, I keep pressing F8 but the start up mode doesn't come up, only the sound of when you keep pressing a button for too long beeps, however, the laptop monitor works again.
    How do I fix this problem?

    Hi
    According to your first posting I presume that LCD display on your notebook is defective. If you can not see BIOS settings or Toshiba welcome screen there must be some display problem.
    Experiment with external display is to be sure that graphic card is not responsible for that. In your case it works with external display and graphic card can not be responsible.
    Like I said try to enter bios settings and report if you can see Toshiba welcome screen.

  • CS5 photoshop proof table naming display

    in CS5 photoshop, any customized and saved Prooftable no longer displays the proof table name in the file header when said proof table is active... NOW only the Profile used within the proof table is displayed. Where we work we have a variety of proof tables, some for coated stock, some for uncoated stock. Now instead of having the Proof tables displayed as they have been since monitor proofing became available in Photoshop, Only the Profile shows up.
    THIS IS BAD for working with creative communities. It is the same as if you wanted an action recorded of 25 steps and named that action "Clean Up_RGB"... but now in CS5 Photoshop decides to take step 6 which may be "crop" and name the entire 25 step action "CROP" which is not only confusing... And does no good to anybody who is trying to "make things easier????"
    This needs to be fixed ASAP. Please... a Patch, an add on to CS5.5, PLEASE MAKE THIS RIGHT.

    Jeff, Please forgive me. Yes I am speaking of a soft proof...
    I am sorry I called it a proof table instead of a Custom Proof Condition. I shall try to adopt only adobe approved language in the future.
    So I shall humbly try again and see if I can gain acceptance and understanding with the Adobe Forums community.
    under view/ Proof Set up, a user has the ability under the CUSTOM choice to build a Customized Proof Condition.
    This condition can be saved with its own name in the Proofing folder so as to be able to access it in the future.
    Features benefitial for these "customized Proof conditions" are
        •    the Device to Simulate (the Profile different from the existing space that the file is currently in)
        •    Whether or not Preserve CMYK numbers wish to be recognized,
        •    Rendering intent of the conversion
        •    whether black point simulation is turned on or off
        •    as well as on screen display options such as simulation  of Paper color and the Simulate Black ink
    In CS4, when a soft proof / Customized Proof Condition was saved with a customized name, that name was displayed in the file header… IN cs5 photoshop… the Device to simulate or PROFILE name is what shows up.
    CS4 photoshop with soft proof active and Customized proof condition opened..notice that in the UNTITILED -1 grayed out file title has the Custom proof condition (or proof table) displayed in the name... NOT THE PROFILE OR DEVICE TO SIMULATE.
    CS5 photoshop with soft proof active and Customized proof condition  opened..Notice that in the UNTITILED -1 grayed out file title has THE  PROFILE OR DEVICE TO SIMULATE where the Custom Proof Condition was in CS4...
    When a company deals with lots of printing conditions Coated, Uncoated, Gravure, Litho, Flexo, Screenprint, the Custom Proof Condition name is Essential for the design community to not get confused as to try to look for ICC profile names.

  • P7N Platinum 3 beeps, no longer displays to monitor.

    Hi,
    I've been running my computer for about 4 months now and when I went to turn it on this morning nothing would display to the monitor. I noticed that now instead of one beep on startup, I get one long beep and two short beeps. These beeps happen now whether everything is plugged into the motherboard or not. I tried pulling out all the ram, swapping the ram, removing the hard drives, removing the video card, resetting the CMOS, removing the motherboard from the case and even removing the cpu and reinstalling it.
    I have literally rebuilt this computer and still at a loss as to what these beeps could mean.
    All the fans turn on and the lights on the motherboard seen the same as before, as far as I can remember at least. Everything seems like normal other than the fact that it  now has three beeps instead of one and won't display anything to my monitor.
    Anyone have any suggestions, or do you think I should have a professional look at it?

    i think it has an award bios
    in which case thats the vga card
