PO confirmation/AB acknowledgement

Hi Friends,
I need your help/suggestion on PO confirmation.
I am using a confirmation control key which requires AB first followed by LA(ASN).
For some reason, I do not see the AB confirmation getting populated automatically through IDOC. I checked the ORDERSP idoc which looks okay, but there is no AB confirmation on the PO.
What could be the possible reasons for this failure?
Thanks for all your help.
Max.

Hi,
I feel 03 is the status of outbound IDOC, in case you are receiving Order Acknowledgement then it should be an Inbound IDOC, did u create a test IDOC using WE19? you should use inbound IDOC of message type ORDRSP, use function module IDOC_INPUT_ORDRSP.

    Hai Friends,
When ever i create a  P.O,  by default the check box  "CONFIRMATION REQUIRED" is checked  in the confirmations tab in the item details view. I want the check box "unchecked" by default.
I unchecked the 'Acknowledgement required ' check boxes in Material Master and Vendor Master for which i want to create a P.O
Still it is coming 'checked' by default in the P.O
    How to fix this issue?
    Thanks

Please could you check in ME21N
Personal setting->Default values ->PO item->'Acknowledgment Rwqd' is not ticked and also the 'Always

    Hi
    Check help provided by SAP
    Monitoring Vendor Confirmations
    Use
The confirmation monitoring facility enables you to check whether the expected confirmations have been received and whether the delivery quantities and dates are as you requested. The list analyses that are available for monitoring purposes provide you at all times with an overview of the status of your purchase orders and their influence on materials planning and control.
    Prerequisites
_ Analyses are only possible for items having a confirmation control key.
_ You can specify the deadline for receipt of confirmations for each confirmation category in
Customizing for Purchasing (Confirmations _ Set up confirmation control under Confirmation
    sequence.)
You can specify in Customizing that you wish to see the following in the monitoring list,
    for example:
_ Which order acknowledgments have still not been received a certain number of days
    after the PO date
_ Which shipping notifications have still not been received a certain number of days before
    the delivery date
    Activities
To monitor vendor confirmations, choose <Purchasing document> ___Reporting___Monitor
    confirmations.
    Order Acknowledgment Expediters
    Use
You can send messages to vendors urging them to submit outstanding order acknowledgments.
You cannot issue such messages with respect to other vendor confirmation categories.
    Prerequisites
A prerequisite is that the Acknowledgment requirement indicator has been set in each relevant
    PO or scheduling agreement item.
    Activities
    <b>Choose <Purchasing document> _ Messages _ Monitor order acknowledgment</b>.
If the indicator has been set, the system proceeds as follows when the reminder program is run:
It checks whether the confirmation control key has been set:
    1. If it has not, it checks whether the acknowledgment number has been entered. If there is
no such number, a message urging the vendor to submit the overdue acknowledgment is
    issued.
    2. If it has, the sum of the quantities from all previous order acknowledgments is calculated.
If the result is less than the order quantity, an urging message (expediter) is issued.
Creating a PO or Outl. Agreement w. Acknowl. Reqt.
    1. Create a purchase order or an outline purchase agreement and maintain the items.
    2. Select the item to be acknowledged by the vendor and enter a confirmation control key in the
Deadline monitoring area of the item detail screen.
If the confirmation control key provides for the submission of order acknowledgments by
the vendor, and you wish to urge the latter to do so in the event that they are still
outstanding after a certain period of time, set the Acknowledgment requirement indicator.
    3. Save the purchase order.
If you wish to work exclusively with order acknowledgments (i.e. without using a
confirmation control key), your only option is to set this indicator. You need not make
    any other entries.
    Monitoring Confirmations
Monitoring Confirmations in PO or Outline Agreement
    1. Select the item for which you wish to see the accumulated confirmations and choose Item _
    Confirmations _ Lists.
    2. Then branch to one of the following lists:
    – Quantities relevant to MRP
    – Quantities that have been reduced/offset with regard to MRP
    – Cumulative quantities
A line from a PO delivery schedule covering 100 tons of steel is reduced to zero as a
result of the relevant order acknowledgment for 100 tons. The subsequent inbound
delivery of 100 tons in turn reduces the order acknowledgment quantity to zero, and,
finally, the GR of 100 tons completely offsets the inbound-delivery quantity.
Monitoring Several POs or Outline Agreements
    1. Choose Purchase order _ Reporting _ Monitor confirmations.
    2. Specify an interval of purchase orders and enter the category of confirmations to be
monitored (for example, AB for order acknowledgment).
    3. Choose Program _ Execute.
You obtain a list of all variant quantities and delivery dates.
    Manual Maintenance of Confirmations
    1. Change the purchase order or scheduling agreement.
    2. Select the item for which you wish to enter a confirmation and choose Item _
    Confirmations _ Overview.
    3. On the confirmation overview screen, maintain the confirmation category, date, time-spot,
and quantity, as well as the confirmation number used by the vendor.
You can also receive a confirmation with respect to a material with a manufacturer part
number (MPN). For more on this topic, refer to Manufacturer Part Number (MPN) [Page
    452]).
If you work exclusively with order acknowledgments (i.e. without using a confirmation
control key), enter the acknowledgment number on the item detail screen. This
number can be any identifier customarily used in your enterprise (e.g. the date of the
order acknowledgment or an external document number).
If you wish to enter the same number for each item, choose Edit _ Fast change.
    Quantity Checks
_ If a vendor notifies a quantity that is greater than the still-open notified quantity, the system
    issues a warning message.
_ If the cumulative quantity from all inbound deliveries relating to a PO item exceeds the order
quantity (taking the overdelivery tolerance into account), the system issues a warning
    message.
This warning can also be defined as an error message on a user-specific basis.
_ If the cumulative notified quantity is less than the quantity already delivered, a warning
    message is issued.
Depending on your settings in Customizing, an indicator showing whether or not the data in the
confirmation is used in materials planning is set in column D. If the indicator has not been set, the
    data is for information only.
In column E, you can see whether the confirmation was entered manually in the PO (1), or
generated automatically upon entry of a shipping notification using the function Create inbound
    delivery (2).
Creating Inbound Delivery Against Shipping Notif.
    1. Choose Purchase order _ Inbound delivery _ Create.
    2. On the initial screen, enter the vendor, the delivery date and the PO number. You also have
the option of entering a transport identification code (e.g. a vehicle registration number). In
this way, deliveries for several purchase orders can be grouped together.
If you do not know the PO number, choose Inbound delivery _ Select purchase orders
    and enter selection criteria.
    Choose Program _ Execute.
You obtain a list of the purchase orders from the specified number interval that contain
    still-open notified quantities.
Select the relevant purchase orders and choose Adopt selected.
    3. Press ENTER. The overview screen with the suggested quantities appears.
The default quantity is taken from the PO item. However, you can overwrite this
suggested quantity and enter a different unit of measure. In order for this to be possible,
the desired unit must be defined as an alternative unit of measure in the material master
record with the appropriate conversion factor.
All quantities (e.g. the notified quantity) are converted into the order unit and recorded in
the purchase order by the system.
You have a PO for 100 tons of Steel 1, and the vendor sends you a shipping
notification for 5 crates. You wish to enter the inbound delivery in the unit of
measure „crate“. The system checks whether the alternative unit of measure can be
converted into the order unit. If so, you can save the inbound delivery in the
    alternative unit.
A batch split can be made in the inbound delivery, which is taken into account in the
confirmation overview for the purchase order and at the time of goods receipt. If the
batch split is to be taken into account at the time of goods receipt, the confirmation
category Inbound delivery must be confirmation-related (GR assignment indicator).
    4. Check the data and make any necessary changes.
    5. Save the document.
After this, the confirmation overview is updated in the relevant purchase orders.

  • Delivery schedule confirmed by vendor

    Hi experts,
Business  scenario:  " For material planning purpose, The SAP PO would require delivery schedule confirmation from supplier to be used as a PO firm items when the PO is released. The PO items are critical since they will be used as material requirement planning to fullfill shop floor production"
Can any one let me know what is BAPI   FM  Delivery Schedule Confirmation by vendor in MM module or any other suitable  method .

In SAP, there is a functionality called "confirmation control" which we can use to control the confirmations and acknowledgement from vendors related to price, delivery date and quantity.
You can setup the "confirmation control key" in PO as per your requirement whether you want to just record the acknowledgement or maintain inbound delivery or both.

  • MDB Transaction

    Hi,
I'm having some issues in same cases with MDB transactions on WL. I have an MDB deployed on a 9.2 WL defined as a CMP with auto-acknowledge in the EJB descriptor (using EJB 2.1 standards) which listens on a queue which is defined in the local WL JMS module and mapped to an external Tibco EMS queue.
    Used descriptor configuration :
    <messaging-type>javax.jms.MessageListener</messaging-type>
    <transaction-type>Container</transaction-type>
    <message-destination-type>javax.jms.Queue</message-destination-type>
    <activation-config>
    <activation-config-property>
    <activation-config-property-name>destinationType</activation-config-property-name>
    <activation-config-property-value>javax.jms.Queue</activation-config-property-value>
    </activation-config-property>
    <activation-config-property>
    <activation-config-property-name>acknowledgeMode</activation-config-property-name>
    <activation-config-property-value>Auto-acknowledge</activation-config-property-value>
    </activation-config-property>
    </activation-config>
The MDB processes the message, accesses a DB and sends it of the an external system. When no exception happened the MDB method finishes and normally the container acknowledges
This all works great untill we put some load on the queue. Sometimes we note that a JMS message gets stuck in the input queue when lots of messages are being put on the input queue. We can trace that such messages actually were picked up by the MDB and processed to a certain extend.
Sometimes the processing log trace just stops in the middle of processing. Sometimes the entire processing log trace is present. However the JMS messages are kept in the input queue and seem to locked (they can't be flushed out as long as the component is still running).
It looks like the messages are awaiting acknowledgement from the WL container manager but somehow the transaction got lost and never got back to the external EMS to acknowledge the message in the input queue.
I was wondering if there is a way to monitor CMP transactions or the status of the container manager? As far as I know the container manager always tries to contact the remote EMS server to acknowledge the message in this setup. What would happen if the remote EMS server would be overloaded and could not respond back to the WL container manager to confirm message acknowledgment?

Thanks for the reply. There are no errors what so ever regarding MDB issues. Not in the weblogic / console logging, nor in the logging of the component itself.
The MDB itself is setup to have 16 concurrent beans per component deployment. The component is clustered over 4 server instances. So there are quite some concurrent MDBs running. However since the messages get stuck for weeks eventhough the component only has bursts of messages to process, one would think that the the stuck messages would be processed whenever the component has some spare time (which it has a lot between the bursts).
Therefor i doubt it has anything to do with too little MDBs running. But frankly I have no idea what's wrong.

  • How to find the user exit for order cancellation

I want to find the user exit for order cancellation. And also to ensure that no one amends the order once the canellation has taken place. The cancellation shall be deemed to be affected only if the vendor has confirmed the acknowledgement of the order cancellation.
I have got a Zreport where this order should not come as open order item.
Please tell me the method of finding the users exit for order cancellation and stop the order from getting modified. And also how to find the tables in which the data has to be updated that the order has to be cancelled.
In the PO header i want an additional tab <cancellation> by which the user by the help of userid and password should be able to cancel the order. An order once cancelled cannot be undone. A new order has to be placed. The new order can be placed refencing the cancelled purchased order.
My client has got a very stringent requirement. In the past cancelled order has been undone and caused lot of problems.
    Regards.

    hi
pls tell me t.code so that i will send all user exits related to that particular t.codes

  • App Store: Unconfirmed buy after clicking on URL ("silent buy")?

    Hi Forum,
Last Friday I bought on my new iPad without my confirmation ("Click on Price or Purchase") 2 applications by simply clicking on a web link which opened the App Store on my new iPad! Yes, you read correct: I did NOT confirm the purchase by clicking on ANY button in the App Store! The App Store page (showing the corresponding App) simply claimed that the application was already Installed - doh! Checking the iPad "workspace" ("Home") afterwards indeed showed the app installed (completely downloaded while I was dazzled in the App Store - record time in downloading!).
Anyone else ever experienced such a thing, a purchase action without you confirming such an action? Mind you, I am not talking about the fact that when you buy one application (and identify using your Apple ID password) that your identity remains valid for another 15 minutes, and the next time you just have to click "Install" (without entering your password again). I am really talking about the fact that you click on some web site URL link which opens the App Store and executes the purchase for you!
    Okay, here's the whole story:
First I started FaceTime on my iPad. I had to re-enter my Apple ID password (probably because I hadn't used the app for a long time? But I did use it in the past...), and I called a friend of mine (video chat).
Matter of fact I was now somehow "logged in" with my Apple ID (into FaceTime! At this point I never had identified myself in the App Store on my iPad on that day).
Next I went to a news site on "9 to 5 Mac" which promoted strongly reduced apps ("iOS & Mac App special deals for the 4th of July" - apparently I am not allowed to post this URL here, some Forum moderator already deleted a previous post of mine - but it totally doesn't matter, just assume ANY website which links to the corresponding iTunes pages!).
Interested in the game "Real Racing 2 HD" for iPad I clicked on the link next to "Real Racing 2 HD" (in Safari on iPad) which pointed to click.linksynergy.whatever, followed by lots of parameters (again, I am not allowed to post URLs here, even though they might be part of the problem! But again, the actual URL parameters could be insightful, but in the end the error would be on Apple's side anyway).
What happened next is that in Safari I got a redirect to some page and immediatelly after that the App Store on the iPad was opened (as expected) (in Safari the browser returned back to the "9to5mac" site).
Now what I did not expect was that in the App Store the button which usually shows the price (or the option to Install) was greyed out and it said "Installed"!
Huh, what?! But maybe I had once bought that game already (as a matter of fact I did on the Mac Desktop App Store a long time ago - so maybe a nice gift from Apple or the developers?)
So I clicked on another link to "Battlefield: Bad Company 2" - a game which for sure I never had bought on any device before!
Interestingly this time a message popped up in the App Store saying "Your request could not be satisfied" ("Ihre Anfrage konnte nicht abgeschlossen werden.") - we will come back to that later.
So I manually entered the title of the game ("Categories / Search")... and again it claimed that the game was already installed! And indeed, both games were on my workspace, fully installed - and working!
To make that very clear: I never clicked on any other button in the App Store, from the very beginning it said "Installed"! Nor did I ever (on that day) identify myself with my Apple ID in the App Store (but in FaceTime just before, in case that is related anyway...).
So I went back to my MacBook Pro, checked my email and indeed, about 30 minutes later I had a Purchase Confirmation email from Apple (luckily that 99 cents promotion was apparently still valid: I was charged CHF 1.00 per App). So yes, that implicit BUY action really cost me money.
Now to the even weirder part: remember the "Your request could not be satisfied" message from "Battlefield"? Curious what would happen when I clicked in my MacBook Pro desktop Firefox on above links, I was forwarded to the iTunes Apple website, but in the US Store (not surprisingly), and a popup message appeared telling me it wanted to open the iTunes app. After confirmation with OK iTunes launched and the following message appeared: "Your request could not be satisfied - the requested article is currently not available in the Swiss store. But it is available in the US store. Click on 'Change Store' to view the article."
    Original message:
"Ihre Anfrage konnte nicht abgeschlossen werden.
Der von Ihnen angeforderte Artikel ist zur Zeit nicht im schweizerischen Store erhältlich. Er ist jedoch im amerikanischen Store erhältlich. Klicken Sie auf „Store ändern“, um den Artikel ansehen zu können."
(The same message appears with "Real Racer 2 HD" on my MacBook Pro. Both apps actually are in the Swiss App Store as well, also for the reduced price of CHF 1.00. However on my iPad I just remember getting the "Your request could not be satisfied" for "Battlefield").
So both links from the original website (9to5mac) pointed to the iTunes US store, on my iPad only in one case did I get a "Your request could not be completed" message, but in any case both apps were installed without me acknowledging the purchase (by clicking on "Install").
Maybe I did click on "Install" after all? Maybe one time that can happen - but not twice, especially if you pay close attention on whether you do so or not! Maybe I purchased those applications anytime before (with proper confirmation on my side)? But that must have happened between July 3rd (the day the 9to5 article appeared) and yesterday, July 6th. Because as I said, I am totally sure that I never bought Battlefield ever before! And the previous 2 days I was not at home anyway (and I did not have my iPad with me).
But to make really sure whether it is possible that these applications - 444 MB for Real Racer and 265 MB for Bad Company, total 709 MB, not exactly tiny downloads - were downloaded yesterday I checked my home router statistics (*), and indeed: on that Friday the download was 756 MB! That pretty much exactly matches with the iPhoto Stream downloads/synchronisation I did as well!
And mind you: usually when you click on "Install" you get pushed back onto the "Home" screen of the iPad and you see the icon appearing, together with the download progress bar. That definitively did not happen when the App Store was opened on my iPad, after clicking in Safari onto those two links! The apps were fully installed (and the icons next to each other, indicating that they were downloaded indeed after each one) when I checked (so yes, congratulations to the Apple App Store - download speed must have been amazingly fast!).
So here are a few more key facts:
    * I bought the new iPad in the US (in case that matters)
    * All involved software updated to the latest (non-beta) software: iOS 5.1.1 (Lion 10.7.4)
    * Since last week I have a Voucher amount of 50 CHF for my iTunes/App Store account (for the first time ever) - so that voucher amount got charged. Maybe that is related to the problem?
    * I have exactly ONE Apple ID for everything (iCloud, Desktop App Store, iOS App Store, FaceTime, ...) - I never had any other Apple ID
Oh and mentioning iCloud (which might be related). I am not sure whether it was before, during or after those two purchases, but I played around with iPhoto on my MacBook Pro and created a new iCloud Email acount (and also enabled "Mail & Notes" iCloud service in the System Settings during that action). So not sure whether this could have had an influence on that "implicit purchase action" as well...
So what did I do? I called Apple Support here in Switzerland, told them about this issue and they told me the "15 minutes and your identifictation remains valid" thing (which I already knew). My objection that even when I am authenticated in the App Store a click on a random website (leading to the iTunes website and opening the App Store) should never do a purchase without me confirming was acknowledged by the support, but I don't expect them to do a follow-up on that (they noted down the URL I gave them and that was it).
Anyway, I did not insist on reverting those purchases, as I would have bought them anyway - but it gives me a very shallow feeling that when clicking on some link it might actually produce a valid purchase action, even if you haven't actually authenticated in the App Store (but possibly with some other Apple service such as FaceTime)!
Anyone else experienced a similar situation?
    Best regards, Oliver
(*) Even though we are talking about games here you may safely assume that I am pretty proficient with any OS/computer and even know the difference between "authentification" and "authorisation" when it comes to IT security

    Hi,
unfortunatelly it seems that one isn't allowed to post 3rd party URLs (even though I am totally not connected with that site in question!) - I already had my previous post removed after just one hour.
But you'll find the page in question when you search for
"iOS Mac App special deals for the 4th of July" 9to5mac dot com
(replace the " dot " by a "." - use the quotes " in the query). It should be the first Google hit...
Again, I don't think this is the fault of those site (respective the site you get redirected to, which will finally point you to the iTunes website...). If at all then it was a security hole in iTunes Store itself which allowed the external site (probably even without purpose) to trigger a "silent buy"! It was also at the time when Apple apparently struggled in the App Store with certain App downloads being faulty, so it is well possible that this was just a "temporary glitch".
Mind you, the above links will redirect you to the US store, and since I am based in Switzerland (and my iTunes account is registered for the Swiss Store), I should not even have been able to manually trigger the purchase there in the US Store. For instance when I click on those same links in my desktop browser the iTunes Store application opens and i am told that "these offers (offered in USD) are not available in the Swiss store and I have to switch the Store from the Swiss -> US Store - but then off course I would not be able to purchase (which is correct), since I do not have an US iTunes account.
However the same offers are (were) available in the Swiss App Store as well for the equivalent reduced price in CHF - so even though I got an "unavailable" message on my iPad for the second application it was still downloaded - without further ado! The Apple receipt was then in the correct amount and currency (the same amount as in the Swiss Store). So again, even though I should not have been able to download these two apps iTunes somehow manages (behind my back!) to download the corresponding offer from the Swiss store, without me pushing any button (I am not even sure whether you can actually "change Stores" in the iPad version of the App Store, as in the desktop iTunes app...)

  • DVD Movie is "lighter" than the M2v File - ?????

    Hello Board,
    I need help . . . . again!
I used the NTSC monitor to color and export the my short film and it looked FINE. Many of the scenes were dimmed (darkened Intentionally) intentionally to create and omnious effect.
I had to take the monitor back but everything seemed fine. I exported the project via Compressor - Best - 90 minute setting.
I watched the M2V on the computer and it looked great, so I imported the M2V into DVD pro and created a very basic DVD.
I burned the DVD pro project to DVD using Toast Titanium 6.
Now here's the twist. When I watched the DVD on TV, the images were significally ligter than in the M2V file and the DVD SP viewer.
I said ok, let me put the DVD into the computer and see if it looks different on the computer LCD and it did not, it was still lighter.
I then did a side by side comparison - with the M2V screen up on the left and the Mac DVD player screen up on the right. I went to the same frame in both and behold, the DVD version is noticable ligher. Things that are concealed by Shadow in the M2V can be seen in the DVD version.
Is it possible that something in the burn process did this. Or could it be that I saved the file a certain way in DVD SP and that did it?
I don't think it's an issue with Compressor, because why didn;t the M2V file look light on the computer.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Lin

It's probably not a problem with Toast or DVD SP. It's the same old display and TV calibration issue that many complain about. Try this with Apple's DVD Player -- switch to an NTSC display profile and see what the DVD looks like then. However, the latter is not a "fix," just an example of how display gamma and calibration can affect results.
I'd suggest that Lin review the following tutorials on color and brightness adjustments:

  • NTSC to PAL Compression for DVD Studio Pro

I am trying to make PAL MPEG2s using Compressor. My videos are roughly 15 minutes long (I have 6 going onto one DVD). I altered one of the Presets to PAL, 16x9, one pass VBR, 4.5 to 7 data rate, best for the motion setting. And I get the typical odd chunky feeling during motion within the frame. Meaning frames look removed (or added) during movement. I looked at it not only on my MAC but on a PAL DVD routed to a true PAL monitor.
Any advice for settings I should try? I have two tests rendering - I moved up to 2 pass VBR, 5-8 data rates, better motion and best motion. I should be able to look at them this evening; but from the folks I talked to, I'm not hopeful. Has anyone figured a way to make PAL MPEG2s look good short of having PAL masters made and a large Post house do the files on their very expensive equipment?
    Thanks,
    Cindy S.

What version of Compressor are you using? Compressor 2 has frame rate conversion settings under the Frame Controls tab (offering various levels of quality).
In any case, you might want to try the freeware utility JES Deinterlacer since it supports fairly good NTSC to PAL conversion using either frame blending or a form of inverse telecine (to convert from NTSC's 29.97fps to PAL's 25fps). If you're using Compressor 1.X then this may be your best option unless you are willing to spend some money on an alternative, third-party solution.
You can download JES Deinterlacer from VersionTracker.com -- it comes with instructions.<small><hr width="75%"><small>If this suggestion helps in any way, a confirmation or acknowledgment would be appreciated, since that would also help others who may be having the same difficulty. • 16:9 problem from fcp- compressor- dvd studio.

    Using Compressor 1.2.1
    I shot mini-dv(xl-2) in 16:9 mode.
I tried using the widescreen Compressor preset but when I import the my assets to DVD studio 2.0 the aspect ratio is squished to 4:3. Using the display tab I changed it to 16:9, looks fine. But when i try to simiulate, it doesn't work and there an off black 4:3 box in the middle of the 16:9 simulation box. burning does the same. both do not play.
My presets are marked for 16:9.
dvds of the project, burn fine using the best settings of fcp Conversion and DVD studio, but i'm having problems going through Compressor first.
    Any ideas?
    fcp 4.5, compressor 1.2.1, dvd studio 2.0

    fcp 4.5, compressor 1.2.1, dvd studio 2.0
Are you really using DVD Studio Pro 2.0 There is a 2.0.5 update available. You also want to make certain that you have updated to the recommended Pro App Support package.
What aspect ratio do you have set in the simulator preferences (4:3 Letterbox, 4:3 Pan & Scan, or 16:9)?
Also, note the following from the DVD Studio Pro 2.0 help file (PDF):
"The most common error is to letterbox your 16:9 video assets before bringing them into DVD Studio Pro or QuickTime MPEG encoding systems. Once a 16:9 asset has been letterboxed, it becomes a 4:3 asset with black bars along the top and bottom of the video image. If you flag letterboxed source video as 16:9 video when encoding it, you will have problems when you play it back later."
That sounds somewhat like the problem you are having. Have you reviewed the "Preparing Assets" section in the DVD SP help file?<small><hr width="75%"><small>If this suggestion helps in any way, a confirmation or acknowledgment would be appreciated, since that would also help others who may be having the same difficulty. • Problem in MessageMapping

    Hai All,
    I have a scenario something like this Webservice1 (Scheduler Application ) --- RFC — Web service2 ( Client ).
Webservice1 (Scheduler Application ) has MATrequest and MATresponse message names
    RFC has BAPI_MATERIAL_GetList and BAPI_MATERIAL_GetList.Response.
Webservice2 (Client) has submitMATrequest and submitMATResponse.
Now let me explain you the flow of the scenario.
    1. Webservice1 ( Scheduler Application ) sends Material GetList request to RFC.request ( Here RFC fetches data ).
    2. RFC.response sends fetched Material GetList details to Web service2 (Client) request.
    3. Web service2 .response gives confirmed/Error acknowledge back to Web service1 ( Scheduler Application )
    through XI.
In this scenario... while sending materil list from RFC.response to Web service 2 (Client) request.
Web service 2.request takes only one object as input ( not array of objects ), but RFC.response gives list of materials.
So how can i send material list one by one from RFC.response to Web service 2. request.
Please help me to solve this.
    Thanks,
    Sri Krishna Charan

    Hi,
    as Jai already said.
You have to do a 1:N Mapping within a Business Prozess.
Than you will have a Multirow Container for each of your elements.
This container you can use in a sendstep in a Block which process them in a sequenz or parallel.
So for every element, one request message to your WebService will be generatet.
    regards,
    Robin

  • Finder relaunches when viewing M2V file info ...

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question, but I imagine I'm most likely to find an answer here. So, here it goes:
As the topic states, the Finder relaunches itself whenever I try to view the file info of a M2V file. This happens when I'm attempting to "Get Info" or simply scrolling the window to the right. More specifically, this occurs when I reach the "Kind" column (removing "Kind" from the window disables the problem). While I wouldn't mind simply excluding "Kind" from my windows, I am still unable to "Get Info" on any M2V files. Any ideas why this may be occuring?
    The Files:
    - compressed with Compressor 2.0.1, via Final Cut Pro 5.0.2 (source media uses "Animation" codec)
    - MPEG-2 compression
    - 1-pass, 7.5 Mbs CBR, 29.97fps progressive, 720x 480
    The System:
    - Dual 1.8GHz PowerPC G5
    - 2.5 GB RAM
    - 372.62 GB SATA RAID (96.11 GB available)
    - OS 10.3.9 (all "Software Updates" installed)
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
    take care & God bless,
    Steve Cole

I suspect you are seeing a variation of the problem discussed in the following link:
    Waymen, "quicktime 7.0.2. and m2v" #4, 11:35pm Sep 8, 2005 CDT
However, since you experience a crash in the Finder when you try to access the Get Info you will have to use a different technique to reset the file association. Select one of the .m2v files that is giving you a problem and then do a control-click (or right click) to show the Finder's contextual menu, then go to the Open With item and select Other... and click the Always Open With checkbox and then navigate to your QuickTime Player and select it as the application to open. This will change the file association for the .m2v file kind and it should fix the problem. You may want to do a system reboot after you do the above fix.
Summary: control-click or right click on the problem .m2v file then:
Open With -> Other... -> (select "Always Open With" checkbox) -> Open (choose) QuickTime Player.

  • QT Pro, What format produces the closest quality to HD

    Hello Experts,
I need a bit of guidance here with exporting slide shows from Motion Pictures HD (comes with Toast 7) to QT Pro and then back to Toast to burn DVD's. I have burned countless disc, countless ways with different codecs and their subsequent bit rates and various parameters and am still not quite satisfied with the results for resolution. Perhaps I am expecting too much after viewing the slide show direct from G5/Motion Picutres HD/DLP or PC monitor but surely there is a way of getting a higher level of detail onto DVD's?
The best approach so far that I have found is to export into QT Pro @ 1368x768 as jpeg images with the Best compression set and HQ Export. I have tried Pal, NTSC, H.264, tiff, graphics, and a litany of other codecs but perhaps I am not optimizing the files for best quality.
Curiously when viewing some of the .mov's directly from QT such as Pal or NTSC codecs the show looks way different from the burned disc, and much worse I might add. On the other hand when I export as jpegs to QT and viewing directly with QT the show is awesome until I burn the DVD and the res drops again. All images initially were 1024x768 ppi, jpegs at highest setting in Photoshop.
    Thanks in advance.

Currently, there is no way that you can produce a standards-based HD DVD, so it's a little difficult to understand what you are trying to achieve. NTSC video DVDs are limited to 720 x 480 resolution so you can't get HD quality with a standard video DVD. DVD Studio Pro 4 allows you to create an Apple proprietary form of HD DVDs, but you need a G5 and QuickTime 7 in order to view these discs (as well as DVD Studio Pro 4 to create them).
However, it you want to create a very dynamic, movie-based, video/photo slide show at the highest possible resolution then I'd suggest H.264. But you'll need a fairly robust G5 if you want smooth, high-frame-rate playback.
Otherwise, just stick with JPEG in either a movie format (Motion JPEG) or as a series of still photos using Tiger's built-in slide show feature (or similar software). The latter (original still photos) viewed with a slide show application would probably give you the highest quality but it limits what you can do with motion and special effects.
As for Motion JPEG, I just took a series of 1680 x 1050 JPEG stills and opened them as an image sequence in the QuickTime Pro Player and then I exported that as a Motion JPEG A high quality movie at the same resolution and frame rate as the original image sequence and I couldn't tell any difference between the original JPEG stills and the finished Motion JPEG movie. But, of course, there is no way you can get that kind of quality on a standard video DVD.
If you want to create a standard video DVD then you will be limited to a resolution of approximately 720 x 480 and as far as sharpness and resolution it probably won't make much difference what format or codec you choose before you actually create your DVD (i.e. just import the original JPEG photos). Also, depending upon the tools you use to create your DVD you may or may not want to rescale the vertical dimensions in order to compensate for NTSC's non-square pixels.<small><hr width="75%"><small>If this suggestion helps in any way, a confirmation or acknowledgment would be appreciated, since that would also help others who may be having the same difficulty. • Black levels in Compressor

What settings are best for maintaining 7.5 IRE in a clip when creating MPEG2s in Compressor? If I go above 9, the black areas get blocky on screen. But is that going to be the case on a television screen?

IRE isn't applied in the digital domain, it's only an artifact of analog video. If you're having problems then I suspect it's either a problem in your color workflow or the cllip was captured from an analog source that was configured incorrectly.
If you haven't already done so, you should review the following on-line tutorials:

  • 16x9 - Nest and distort or is there a better way to convert?

I'm trying to figure out the best way (quality wise) to burn 16x9 footage to DVD.
I nested my final sequence in FCP, distorted it (-33.3), rendered it, exported it out of FCP via Compressor, authored it in DVD Studio Pro and burned it.
Is another process in Compressor or DVD Studio Pro that would let me letterbox the footage so that when the DVD is burned it plays back with the black bars?

What is the source of you "16x9" footage? Is it HD, or anamorphic DV, or some variation to produce widescreen? The fact that you had to distort it (-33.3) suggests that it is an anamorphic source that you are placing into a 4:3 sequence. My question would then be does it have to be a 4:3 non-anamorphic sequence? If your playback system support anamorphic video then why don't you process it as anamorphic 16:9 (full frame 720 x 480 for NTSC).
Otherwise (standard 4:3), I think you are stuck with doing a letterbox and what you've done is probably as good a solution as any.<small><hr width="75%"><small>If this suggestion helps in any way, a confirmation or acknowledgment would be appreciated, since that would also help others who may be having the same difficulty.
