Portal: Error occured while accessing defaultDesktop;workarounds don't work

Hello,
After I enter my user id and password in Portal logon screen, I get this error:
"Error occurred while trying to access framework page: "pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/defaultDesktop/frameworkPages/frameworkpage",The object does not exist or you are not authorized to access it.If this problem persists, contact your system administrator "....
Environment: BI 7, Stack 15, Sun Solaris
Based on research in sdn.sap.com and service marketplace, I tried these links by replacing server name and port with mine; No success.
1)
http://<server>:<port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prteventname/Navigate/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fevery_user!2fgeneral!
2fcom.sap.portal.frameworkpage and
2) http://<server>:<port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!
3acom.sap.portal.system!2ftemporaryobjects3!
The error message I get when I execute these links is:
Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing your request
Exception id: 09:47_30/11/07_0011_3236950
See the details for the exception ID in the log file.
=========================================================
3) I activated trace for all security related properties based on a note. And I notice these comments in "defaultTrace.12.trc":
==========================================================

Did anyone experience this situation and/or know how to resolve this issue?
Thanks,
BP

Established environment.
I agree that the master rule set is "supposed" to default to the portal default desktop.
Intentionally no change was made to authorizations. As a matter of fact, I assigned all available roles(SUPER_ADMIN_ROLE is one of them) to my id after I started getting this error. No luck.
Any ideas with this error that I posted in original message? Does this tell you anything at all?

I activated SQLtrace and found this statement which returns 0 record for the attribute number you see above:

While the same upgrade was successful on the pub.
    Need help.

    Brad,
I've seen that a number of times with 7x upgrade files.  I would like to say it's consistent but it hasn't always been.  I've done a number of upgrades and sometimes I would run across that issue and other times, I would not (there would be multiple files in the SFTP path).  After a few times, I just started always putting my upgrade file in a dedicated folder.
Good catch...and you're not alone in experiencing it.

  • A network error occurred while accessing this document on the internet

    Dear all,
I am now facing a very unusual problem that, when I try to open a pdf file from internet, it says: "A network error occurred while accessing this document on the Internet. Would you like to close the document or reload it?". Here's my situation:
    Browser: IE8 (or Chrome 35.0.1916.153)
    Adobe Reader: 11.0.0
    OS: Win7
1.Directly open from IE. Says: "A network error occurred while accessing this document on the Internet. Would you like to close the document or reload it?"
2.Try to download(Save AS). In IE, says: "The connection was reset The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading"; In Chrome, nothing happened, but still can't download.
3.Try to disable the "PDF Reader Addon" in IE8. First the browser needs to download the PDF file, but failed, see point 2.
1.I can open the same PDF file from another network, that is, out of my company.
2.I can open another PDF file in the network of my company, but the pdf is created by another scanner
3.All PDFs from both scanner can be opened locally.
So, here's the possible problem, the network settings, and(or) the PDF. Does anyone ever meet this situation, please help?
    Thank very much.
    Li

    Rave,
    IE: 8 & 9
    Adobe Acrobat Pro/Acrobat Reader 10.x & 11.x
    Chrome: work fine
So the answer is to manually enable and disable websites based on whether the pdfs open within the browser.  That doesn't seem like a great long-term solution to have have our users to manually enable / disable browser integration.  We have web applications that work better with browser integration turned on.  Is this something that Adobe will fix or is it an IIS/IE issue.
It appears the Adobe removed the #1 config option that you lised in the new 11.x versions of both products.  The manage Add-ons does not disable the browser integration on the new Adobe versions.

  • Error occurred while accessing application id Excel services application unattended service account from secure store service

    Hi,
I follow up the book "Professional SharePoint 2013 Administration" to build the SharePoint 2013 BI include Excel Services. and created the Secure Store services to save the user SP_Install for member.
For Now, I can upload the worksheet and open it in browser, but when I tried to refresh it, the SP 2013 show error "Error occurred while accessing application id Excel services application unattended service account from secure store service".
does anybody can help ? and do I need to turn on C2WTS ?
    Thanks
    James Liang

    Hi James,
Excel Services can be used with Secure Store in three primary scenarios:
    Unattended Service Account
    Embedded Connections
    External Data Connections
If you haven't configure unattended service account yet, you could refer to the article below:

there are many different causes for safe array error messages.
i would advise to contact support before looking for help for safe array messages in the forums. if you open an SR be sure to attach HsvEventLog.log file from all application servers in the environment so that the support engineer can check them.
if the message it is restricted to one specific user it may be related to that users preferences / POV settings in the appname_USERPARAMS database table. you may like to try to remove the userparams for that specific user from the table. before you do this you need to make sure that HFM (all HFM related processes and services) is stopped on all servers in the environment and that you have a recent backup of the HFM database.
also please make sure you have patched your 9.3.1 HFM to 9.3.1 SP 4 + SF's 9.3.1.4.01, 9.3.1.4.03 and 9.3.1.4.05. it is recommended that all HFM 9.3.1 administrators have applied all of the above Service Packs and Service Fixes.

  • Error : "A network error occurred  while accessing this document on the internet"

When i try to open un large pdf file (120 Mo with many picture inside), an error appears : "A network error occurred  while accessing this document on the internet. Would you like to close the document or reload it" .  But if i try to "save as" the pdf on my disk, it's work.
I also try to change the option to open the pdf directly in the Adobe reader and it's work.  But if i retry to open the pdf in the browser, the error reappears.
The file is located on a secure server (https) with a user and password.
Does anyone know how to fix it?
    Thanks!

I try with Internet Explorer 6 and 8.
    Ankit_Jain wrote:
Also, do smaller sized PDFs open successfully at your end?
    Yes it does
I also tested with French and English versions. Acrobat Professional X seems to react the same way but Adobe Reader 9 works!

  • A network error occure while accessing this document

    Hi,
I am getting the error "A network error occured while accessing this document on interntet. Would you like to close the document or reload it?".
I have tried re-installations etc.. but none helped.
Please let me know if anyone has encountered this problem and overcome it.
Using Adobe Reader 9.3.2 and opening from ESS/MSS application.
    Thanks,
    Raghavendra

I figured out what the problem is. There is a setting in the user's IE browser and Adobe program that is causing the PDF form to open in a browser window in IE instead of in Adobe Reader. The form we're using is too big to load in a browser and must be loaded in Adobe Reader instead. To fix the problem, the user needs to make the following changes to his/her settings:
    1. In Adobe, go to the Edit menu and select Preferences. Under 'Internet', make sure the box for 'Display PDF in browser' is unchecked. Click OK to save your changes.
    2. In IE, go to the Tools menu and click on 'Manage Add-ons'. Then, click on Adobe Reader and click the Disable button. I think this should disable the built-in Reader in IE, so PDFs will have to open in Reader instead of in the browser.
Once our users changed these settings they were able to access our form online.
    Hope this helps!

    Hi Rohan,
Might be the user you are using is not in the Admin group.
You can assign the user into that group using the Visual admin or
User management by logging using the j2ee_admin user.

  • Time capsule remote access message from airport utility "An error occurred while reading the configuration"

WHEN I TRY TO ACCESS Time capsule remotely, I receive a  message from airport utility "An error occurred while reading the configuration." It worked before on the same computer with the same setting. I am in a different country now (Afghanistan). Not sure if that can be an issue.

If the TC is at home and in router mode as the main router of the network, get someone at home to give you the current public IP which will be on the summary page of the airport utility.
With the public IP try and access it by typing the IP directly into finder.. go.. connect to server.
    AFP://publicip.
If you have setup WAN access it will. Otherwise no.
For BTMM and iCloud access and its various issues.. this thread may give you some ideas.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3699096?start=0&tstart=0
If the icloud method proves unreliable and you are dependent on access to the TC.. I strongly recommend better and more reliable access methods.. in particular buy a VPN modem or router.. whichever suits your internet type and put the TC in bridge behind it. Direct connect to the TC via the vpn.
You will need either a static public IP which you purchase as an extra from your ISP .. maybe via a business account or setup a dyndns account which are readily available.

    Hello there,
Another option is to create a sap* user( then no other user can login) create another user and try login.
    The steps are given here
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/EP/ToResetAdministratorPasswordthroughConfigTool
But I guess CE dont have config tool. so you will have to do the same steps at NWA.
If all these fail, I am afraid only option is to reinstall the Portal.

  • Error occurred while trying to access framework page

    Hi All,
After we applied sps 12 in to our portal we encounter the following error:
Error occurred while trying to access framework page: "pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/defaultDesktop/frameworkPages/frameworkpage",The object does not exist or you are not authorized to access it.If this problem persists, contact your system administrator.
We are not able to to login to the portal with the administrator user (he has the full rights)
it seems the startpage is missing or corrupt , do you know a solution to generate this again.
we have Portal 7.0 SP12 , i found the following notes but these prvide no solution.
Note 856865 - Error occurred while trying to access framework page ( EP6).
    Kind regards,
    Mustapha

    Hi,
if you can't log as administrator, activate the SAP* emergency user, logon with it, and give a defaultDesktop to administrator or all user.

  • An Error Occurred while trying to join "my wireless access point"

    Hi,
I've been using wireless access for a year and never had a problem connecting.
But starting yesterday I get a +*An Error Occurred while trying to join "my wireless access point", Please try again.+* Message.
I have 2 Mac's and have no problem connecting with the other one. It’s just the IMac.
I tried everything including resetting router, changing password, adding a $ to the password, accessing without password, deleting the whole air port and create a new one, but still getting the same message.
I might need to add, while I was working with the IMac I didn’t use wireless for a few hours, but when I got back to my browser I noticed that I was connected to a different wireless service. (FONFREEINTERNET if it matters) I have no idea why, since I didn’t change it.
Anyways, I tried to switch back to my access point, but it wouldn’t let me. It’ll just give me the +*An Error Occurred while trying to join "my wireless access point", Please try again.+* Message.
Funny is when I use the FONFREEINTERNET access point the internet seems to work fine.
I could look up Google without a problem, but when I tried to connect to Facebook for example it won’t let me. Instead a FONFREEINTERNET page will pop up with some options on how to pay! (by minute/or day/or week…)
I get the strange feeling that they planted some kind of bug/virus!!!
I don’t know what else to do.
Anyone knows that problem? What can I do?
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    I researched on FONFREEINTERNET, there’s a spot close to my house/guess that’s the one I used…
http://maps.fon.com/ ZIP CODE 904-0113 and you’ll see a coffee pod, which is about 2 minutes walk from my house.

    Hello Tesserax,
I get the same error message again...
I tried the 3 suggested steps again, but unfortunately it did not work.
After a Restart, Sleep or just the awaking from Screensaver mode I’m disconnected from my wireless Network anymore.
Even if the Computer was asleep for just a second!
I am able to fix the problem temporarily with Network Preferences → Assist me → Diagnostics
Choose Airport → Choose network → Enter Password (Even if I check safe password it’ll ask me every time) → and than usually all lights on the left menu switch from red to green and I get the popup message “A Network Change has been detected. Your Internet seems to work fine.” (similar - I’m at work and don’t remember exactly)
And it works fine…until the screensaver comes on or it sleeps again
I have the Problem with my IMac and Mini but the IMac at least remembers my password…
    Any Ideas
I’m connected through a Buffalo WZR2-G300N wireless router

  • An error occurred while trying to access the service?

I'm trying to convert a PDF into Excel but I get the message 'an error occurred while trying to access the service'.
I have tried logging into my Adobe account online and doing it within there, but once I have exported the file and pressed 'convert' it simply says 'conversion failure' with no explanation.
My subscription is still valid, so I don't see why the problems?  Has anyone else had this issue and managed to fix it?  I get the error message regardless of whether I'm trying to convert to Word or Excel.
    Any ideas greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks
    Sophie

    Hi SHurcs,
I'm sorry that you're having such trouble with your ExportPDF subscription. Does this error occur for one particular file, or with any file that you try to convert? What operating system and browser are you using?
To get us started, here are a few things that you can try:
In Reader, sign out, and then sign back in.
Use a supported web browser:  http://www.adobe.com/acom/systemreqs/
    Clear the browser cache.
If you're using a networked computer, make sure that there are no firewall/proxy settings that prevent you from uploading files to the Internet.
Make sure that the files you're trying to convert are within the file-size limits for ExportPDF (100 MB).
If the problem persists, please let us know, and tell us a bit more about the files that you're converting.
    Best,
    Sara
