PSE 5.0 - Dashed Border
Hello...
In Photoshop Elements 5.0 I've created a banner 500 x 135 pixels with text inside it.
When I save that banner it has a solid border around it.
What I'd like is a dashed border (a "coupon" look with dashes all around.)
How do I create a dashed border for my banner?

Thanks for your suggestion - cool idea.
After trying your suggestion with the brushes it still leaves a "bounding box" with straight line border (in addition to the dashes). The dashes sit within the bounding box area.
I need the bounding box itself to be dashes, not a straight line.

Hello everyone.
For a custom project I've created a PhotoViewer, that simply shows images and fades them in and out along with a title and some text. I wanted to create a dashed border to put around these images and created my own implementation of a UIComponent. I found a fantastic example here:

I modified it a bit, as I only wanted the border to be on top and bottom sides.
(see at the bottom of this post for source code)
The problem first shows itself when I put the variables "dashLen" and "dashGap" to 1. I only want the dashes to be one pixel wide and one pixel apart from each other. The border at the top of the images shows up exactly as I expected. The border at the bottom does not. The dashes seem 'fatter' somehow, almost as if a couple of lines are drawn right on each other. I want the bottom border to be exactly the same as the top border, of course.
The code for drawing these lines seems to be exactly the same, so I don't know what's causing this problem.
Can any of you give me a hand?

Infopath cannot submit the form because it contains errors. Errors are marked with either a red asterik(required fields) or a red, dashed border (invalid values).
Press Ctrl+Shift+O for next error or Press Ctrl+Shift+I for error details

Sravan.Hi Sravan, this means that one or more of the fields are required to be filled in or have validation set up on them so that the information entered matches a certain criteria. Make sure what's entered matches what's required. If the form still can't be
submitted, check the rules set in InfoPath and the list/library to see what's causing the error(s).

I want to draw rounded rectangle with dashed border

I am working on flex 4.5 air 2.7 . And i want to draw rounded rectangle which has dashed border or solid border as per user's selection. Also rectangle can be rounded or simple. I am able to draw simple rectangle with dashed border. I want a solution for rounded rectangle.

Dashed border around any component
Sorry if this a stupid question since I am very new to Flex.
But, I cannot set the dashed or dotted border around mx:Canvas (or
any other component for that matter). borderStyle allows only four
settings: solid, inset, outset and none.
Is there any easy way to achieve this?

Mac :: Firefox :: CSS border issue
Can someone with Firefox on a Mac check this page and see if
you can tell
why in the "products" boxes ( there are 3 ) .. the bottom
border is missing
on only 2 of them. I believe the 3rd box down renders the
border. If I
delete a paragraph from the 1st box, the border shows on the
1st box and not
the other two .. weird.

The css is fairly complex for the entire page but the
relevant code for this

I recently upgraded from PSE 6 to PSE 7. I make extensive use of the keyword tags to help me locate my photos. In PSE 6 I was able to hold down the control key and click a number of photos that belonged in a keyword tag category (like a marriage) and then drag the tag icon to one of the photos and all the photos that were highlighted would have the tag applied for that category. In PSE 7 the highlight border will not "stick" after three or four of the photos are selected (using the control and click method described above).
Is there a new way to do this in PSE 7? I have applied all the latest updates but the problem still persists. Any suggestions?
Thanks.One thing to remember about photoshop elements 7,
is that elements 7 is a 32 bit program, so even though you have
a 64 bit os, elements 7 can only use around 2 gb of ram (probably less).
Having other programs running at the same time may use alot
more ram than you think and running some of the filters
on images in elements can really dig into your ram.
Have you tried shutting down the other applications and
does it make any difference?
In the Edit>Preferences tab of the pse7 editor, what percentage
of ram do have set?
While some years ago 4gb of ram was alot, by todays standards
it's not.

I am trying to get table-cells with e.g. the right
border missing (invisible). I am using the
following XSL-FO to get this:

I am using an RTF template, but was not able to get
what I need with the standard functionality available
in the RTF template. To work around this, I have
imported a stylesheet to create the FO for the table
directly. I try to append to this mail:
- code in the RTF template
- XML sample data
- stylesheet imported from RTF template
- the generated FO (small table, 4 colums, 7 rows, plus headers)
I could also provide a stylesheet to create a complete,
self containing FO and a correct PDF output, but may
direct mail would be better for this.

I know this is going to turn out to be obvious, but....

The main image is included in an <a href> to make it a
hyperlink. Before I added the link there was no border around the
image; now there is.
I've tried to set the style for the <a> to border:0;
text-decoration:none; background:transparent but nothing seems to
remove the border that was added when the link was created.
What do I need to do to get rid of the border around the
linked image?

That's an accessibility feature, so that those using adaptive
devices can
see where they are on the page. You can eliminate it - do a
web search
for 'link scrubber' - but it makes your pages less
accessible.

What is it, that you see or don't see? Empty rectangles surrounded by a dashed border like marching ants? In the browser or the viewer?
If you do not see the images in the browser, then you have a problem with your thumbnails, not your previews. Try to select all of the empty rectangles and select (from the main menu bar)
Photos > Generate Thumbnails.
If you want to recreate your Previews, in case they do not show properly in the Browser, hold down the options-key while you select "Update Previews".

CMYK & border issue - beginner question
Hi, I'm a newbie with Adobe Illustrator CS6 on a Mac. Questions, as follows: 1) I have created a CMYK document and want to ensure all colors I select are CMYK. When the document was created, I selected CMYK as the color mode. Does it end there? How do I make sure all of the colors that I've currently selected are CMYK? I can see there is a Pantone CMYK palette, but I didn't use this. Rather, I just selected using the Color Guides. I need to print a color palette for design purposes, so it's crucial the colors are accurate on paper. 2) Why am I getting a little white border around the circumference of the page, when printed? Also, when viewing the print preview, I can also see there's a dashed border as well.

The dashed border shows the non printing area for the printer in question.
Whenever you work in CMYK colour mode, all colours are fundamentally CMYK, whether you define them by their (approximate) RGB values or their CMYK values.
To have the screen appearance correspond (as well as possible, with inherent limitations owing to the different nature of additive and subtractive colours) to the printed appearance, you need to have monitor calibration and consistent colour management from screen to paper.
You may have a look at CMYK, RGB, and colour gamuts, you may start with Wikipedia or a Google search or the good old computer darkroom,

Spry Menu bar wrongly displayed in IE
Hi,
on my website i integrated a Spry Menu bar with one Submenu, which really works fine in Firefox. The boxes have a defined width of 124 px.
My problem is, if you view this site with IE, the drop down menus don´t work and you are asked to activate activeX or scripts. If you do so the whole menu is displayed white unless you roll over the buttons, you can see what actually should be there. Another bug is that the submenus, are oriented horizontally instead of vertically.
Can anyone help me with this nice IE problem?

thanks a lot for your great help. I integrated your recommendations in my sprymenubarhorizontal.css file and uploaded it.
When i preview the site in the browser (Dreamweaver -> Preview in Iexplorer) it all looks like it should.
However when i uploaded the new css file, the change is not visible. It´s still the old mistake.
What am i doing wrong? What i also wonder about is, that the css file has a size of 6.554 Bytes. When i upload it, it only has 6.353 bytes.
Can this be correct? Also the SpryMenuBar.js files are different in size.
Do you have any idae what the problem here is?

Add: I just recognized that also my html. files are different in size. So i guess this is normal. But where is the mistake hiding? I´courious

Can no longer see iPhone photos in iPhoto
After upgrading my iPhone to 3.1.2 iPhoto no longer autolaunches when the iPhone is connected to my Mac Book Pro (10.6). When I launch iPhoto ('08, 7.1.5) myself the phone's camera shows up on the left-hand side but when I select it I see no photos to import. If I uncheck the "Hide photos already imported" checkbox I see dashed lines indicating that there are photos that have already been imported, but the photos do not appear within the dashed border.
I have try restarting the phone as well as resetting the phone by holding down the power and home keys.
Any ideas?My MacBookPro is totally up to date: runs OS X Snow Leopard and the update 10.6.2. The iPhoto is version 8.1.1, iTunes version is 9.0.2. and iPhone has software version 3.1.2.
Up to a few days ago all worked perfectly but since yesterday iPhoto doesn't see my iPhone.
I've reinstalled Snow Leopard and checked for software updates for all ... no solution!
I've seen NUMEROUS guys with the exact same problem but I saw NO answer to solve the problem (except for deleting photos from emails etc which is bollocks!).
Can Apple not help by fixing the glitch in their software, which it obviously is. -
Not able to edit the emailed document to SharePoint library
Did anyone try to edit the Word Documents that are populated from the outlook emails into the SharePoint library using Incoming Email setttings?
This library doesn't have any required cols but still it is giving this error message all the time:
The File cannot be saved because some properties are missing or invalid.
Use the document Information panel to provide the correct property values. errors for required properties are marked with red asterisk and errors for invalid properties are marked with a red dashed border.
When I go to the information panel, I just see a red asterisk beside the
location- populated with the path of the file location.
Does anyone faced this issue before?

It seems a default behavior in SharePoint 2010 for an email enabled list.
You can try the workaround below:
1. Go to the doc library where you have enabled incomingemail> go to Library Settings
2. Go to the Content Types section (you have to enable manage Content types
from Advanced Settings if not done already)
3. Add a new content type fromthe list of existing content types > good to try with Basic Page. Make that as the Default (select it as #1).
4. Once you are done with the changes, go to our Outlook client and send an
emailto the same list with an attached Word or Excel file and try Saving it after
Edit.
