Question on Document Download from Library: wopi.ashx vs download.aspx

I just got curious with this behavior, hence thought of posting this here. I was monitoring RequestUsage table to check the entries SharePoint makes when a user downloads a document. I downloaded two documents from Library. One document was downloaded using
the ribbon "Download a copy" option. Another document was downloaded using ECB menu.
When I observed in RequestUsage table, DocumentPath column was "/_layouts/15/download.aspx" and QueryString column was pointing to the document URL. This was smilar for both documents.
When the similar download activity was done from "other machine", DocumentPath column was "/_vti_bin/wopi.ashx/files/ec1a5b7d6e92497aaaf69ac3044c6912" and QueryString column was "?access_token=[lengthy characters]".
Both machines were using Windows 7 and this test were done from Chrome browser. My question is, why this difference in the way document gets downloaded? Basically what differentiates to call download.aspx or wopi.ashx? Any pointers please?

When you click Download a Copy, it will redirect you to
http://site/_layouts/download.aspx?SourceUrl=urlofdocumentinlibrary If you are using IE browser, please download a document, then go to IE settings icon, and view downloads, right click the documents and copy download link. Then paste in a notebook,
you will find the link is in type of the link above.
As for the "/_vti_bin/wopi.ashx/files”, it is related to Office Web App. We access document via Office Web App, and it will use the url like that. The access token is a token passed between SharePoint and the Office Web Apps servers.

Last Resort, put the iPhone in DFU mode (Google How to do that). Connect in iTunes. Follow on-screen prompts to Restore. All Data would be lost, if not backed up earlier.
To save the photographs you may have to use third party software. Google is your friend.

I get error "Document license expired" on any book I download from library.

I have been downloading books from the library successfully for years. Now all of a sudden i get this "Document license expired" on any book I download.

I don't use Windows (Thankfully!) but there should be an option in the installer to change the installation destination and I'm pretty certain the default would be on the drive Windows is installed on.

Downloading from library

After sitting idle for 5 weeks, I cannot download epub to my PC. It automatically goes to "my documents" instead of Digital Editions. Do not know which folder to select in Digital Editions.

How are you getting at those books?
Usually for library books, browsers download a .acsm file to your Downloads directory;
when you open that it starts ADE (digital editions) which reads the .acsm file and downloads a .epub file to put in the "Document/My Digital Editions" directory.
If you have a .epub file, you should be able to open it from ADE using ctrl-O, or drag-dropping the file from Explorer/Mac FInder onto the running ADE.

Adobe Reader for iOS does not support eBooks from libraries.
As far as I know, Adobe Digital Editions is not available on iOS or Android.

How to transfer downloads from library to windows 7 itunes

I have downloaded audiobooks from the public library and connot transfer them to my ipod through itunes using Windows 7

I'm having a similar problem attempting to transfer an audio book via OverDrive Media Console to my iPod Touch using a Win 7 PC. I am not new to the process...I have successfully transferred books many times in the past...and I experimented and had no trouble transferring the same book using a different PC to the same iPod.
The only thing that has happened is that when I attemped a recent iTunes update, my PC froze during the process and forced me to abort the update....and since then I have not been able to complete an audio book transfer without getting the the following error message...
"No portabel players could be found. Please make sure your portable player or cable is properly inserted into the appropriate slot of this computer."
Although the Overdrive Media Console does not recognize the attached iPod, the iPod is recognized by the PC and iTunes and as I mentioned earlier, recognized by another PC.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, Overdrive Media Console and QuickTime multiple times, reset the iPod and I still have the problem. I assume the problem is with Overdrive, however I cannot find a solution anywhere and Overdrive does not have any kind of support or forum and their FAQ that supposedly addresses the error message is useless.
Any advice or leads to solving this problem will be greatly appreciated.

How To Exclude Song or Video From Downloading From Library

I have songs and videos in my Library that I have successfully download to my iPhone in the past. However, I now want to exclude some songs or videos from being downloaded to my iPhone but want to keep them in my Library in case I want to download them again in the future. I thought that I only had to uncheck those songs or videos in the Library list and Sync to my iPhone. However, all the songs and videos still appear on my iPhone. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Do you have sync checked songs and videos selected under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences?
Regarding videos, you have options under the Videos tab for your iPhone sync preferences. Chose selected movies selecting the movies in the window below that you want transferred to your iPhone, and deselect the movies you want removed from your iPhone followed by a sync. The same applies under TV Shows.
With Music, you can create an iTunes playlist or multiple playlists. Without having sync checked songs and videos selected, to remove a song from your iPhone remove it from the selected playlist followed by a sync. Or select sync checked songs and videos and uncheck the song in the selected playlist followed by a sync.

Won't download from Library

I totally screwedup and tried to download an album from another computer. Great, got the album, but erased 1300 songs from i-pod. Got the album onto main computer, erased the album from I-pod. Now, I am trying to reload all of my music onto my i-pod, and I can't get it to do it. So, I have around 5 days worth of music on my computer, but not on my player. All of the songs are still in the Library. What can I do???? HELP!!!!!

After Nook upgrade, ADE upgraded to 4.0 on my mac. Authorized, attempting to download from library, getting error message " unable to download, error getting license, E_act_Not_ready"

Using my nook reader was always easy. Since this upgrade, not able to even download into ADE.

Also, I have uninstalled ADE former version, installed ADE4.0 and authorized it. Nook did an upgrade on 12/16/14. Does not work, even with Nook not connected to Mac.

TS3694 error -39 leads to error -50 when downloading from itunes store and the download will not resume

I download a TV Show from itunes and usually as soon as it begins, it tells me that my TV Show is ready to watch and I can choose to "Play TV Show Now" or "Watch Later." I choose Play TV Show Now. Then after about 20 seconds of watching, and error message comes up with the error code -39. The download stopped and when I resume, it will download for 5 more seconds but then I get another error message with the code -50. I click the Resume button and it won't resume no matter how many times I click it. So I have to go to Music, iTunes, iTunes Media, Downloads, and delete the folder with the name of the TV Show that wouldn't work. Then i open iTunes again and Check for Downloads and it starts over downloading.
The errors only occur when I start playing the TV Show while its downloading. Its fine if I let it download.
How do I fix the errors?

That's not the issue (waiting for the download to complete). The issue is that the download never ever completes. The Computer says "Hey, you can watch your show," but then just a few moments have downloaded, and you get a "-50" error.
The published solution for the -50 error is to navigate to the wack place that itunes has decided to store your download (if you can find it) and delete the partial file and try again.
I have "tried again" 5 times now. It's not working.

Thanks, King_Penguin. Yes, I tryied putting the iPad into recovery mode. It freezes in the black screen with the iTunes and USB cable. When I followed the instructions and then started iTunes, I received the following message: "A required iTunes component is not installed. Please repair or reinstall iTunes (-424040)".
I have unistalled iTunes three times already and donloaded and installed three new versions. No luck.

How do I delete downloads from the cloud?

OK - I'm interrested in uploading to the cloud, not downloading from the cloud. I downloaded some purchased songs, but there seems to be no way to delet them from my phone. No swiping, or deleting from itunes, or new playlist formed. Anyone have any help on this?

If you sync by selected playlists, remove the song from the playlist. That does not remove it from your music library. The "Purchased" playlist is just a smart playlist showing the songs in your music library that you purchased (as opposed to ripping from a CD or downloading from the internet).
Playlists shown in the "Music" pane for your phone in iTunes are not a subset of "Purchased", just because they are listed underneath Purchased.
