Removing file transfer options from client GUI.

How do you remove all of the file transfer options from the client GUI (the button, the right-click menu option, etc.)?

You can add <argument>allow_attachments=false</argument> in /var/opt/SUNwbsvr7/https:<hostname>/webapps/<hostname>im/en/im.jnlp file
to disable file transfer options from the Client GUI.
Or else if your using AM with IM then you can disable by setting the proper policy for DefaultUser through amconsole.

  • File Transfer b/w Client - Server using JSP

    Hi,
    I need to implement a file transfer between the client and the server using JSP / Beans. The files can be XML Documents, Images (.gif,.jpeg) or even MS Word documents.
    The user has a set directory on his file system where the files are to be saved upon download and retrieved upon upload. This system is similar to a check-in check-out system.
    How do I get a reference to the directory on the users file system and then either save the downloaded files there or retrieve the files that need to be uploaded.
    Thanks
    coffeejava

    The only way you can do this is by using an applet, a jsp page or servlet does not have access to the system that the browser is running on. Furthermore if you were planning on using the html file form object you cannot set a value for that programmatically. It's not allowed for security reasons.

  • Used the file transfer software from Apple to move music and photos from PC to iMac and can't find the files on iMac even though it was "successful" any help?

    Used the file transfer software from Apple to move music and photos to iMac.  After several hours it was "successful" but I can't locate it on the iMac.  Any ideas for the rookie?

    The music should be in iTunes and your photos should be in iPhoto. What happens if you launch those applications?
    Best of luck.

  • How do I remove the "Dock" option from the Apple Dropdown Menu

    I work for a school district where I am continuosly having to go back into Mac labs and reverting the settings on the dock back to normal.  Students are changing the size, position and content of the dock, as well as hiding the dock.  These computers are used by students k-6 and the younger children are getting confused when they com in and they cannot find the dock or its not where it is supposed to be.  I have been able to lock the sizing, position and content of the dock but am not finding a way to elimante the hiding of the dock.  Preferably I would like to remove the "dock option from the Apple dropdown menu.  Please help!!!!

    This question was asked quite a while ago and the suggestion was to use Server Admin Tools, which I know nothing about. You'll have to look into that. If these Macs are running off a server, then this might work for you. I'm seeing that Server Admin Tools from Apple is still current.

  • How to remove Forward/Resubmit options from UWL workitems

    Hi Folks,
    I have a requirement to remove Forward/Resubmit options from UWL workitems of the Hover menu.
    Can anyone let me know how to do it ?

    Hi Chaitanya,
    If you want to remove forward and resubmit actions for all the UWL items, it should be simple.
    Open the UWL iview and look for a property called "List of UWL actions to exclude".
    In that property enter the values "followUp" and "forward" separated by a comma.
    followUp - Resubmit
    forward - Forward
    This should remove the two actions for all the UWL items.
    Here is a help link with more info:

    If you want to remove these options for selected UWL items only, refer to this forum:

  • Cannot transfer file into DB from client with webutil

    Transfering file from client to DB will fail if the file is at a network path(not be mapped) or path contains Chinese character. for instance:
    \\server\temp\test.bmp
    C:\(Chinese character)\test.bmp
    But it can work fine with the file list below ( I map \\server\temp to T: ) :
    C:\test.bmp
    T:\test.bmp
    Thanks for any reply!

    I've got a similar problem related to this issue. Using the Client_Get_File_Name function to return a UNC path name and file the value returned drops the first backslash so instead of:
    \\server\directory\file.bmp
    I get:
    \server\directory\file.bmp
    Similar to Sunny, we don't want users to have to copy files to their local drives in order to load them into the database. We use Client_Get_File_Name to identify the file the user wants to load and then we use Read_Image_File to load it. Its passing the incorrect value into Read_Image_File that is causing our problem.
    Is there a workaround for this, can we stop Client_Get_File_Name from losing the first backslash?
    Thanks

  • How to achieve the maximum file transfer rate from PXI to local host?

    I will have to copy a huge amount of data (as big as 50 GB) from a PXI-8106 unit on site to a laptop. Currently it would take several hours. It is critical to max out the data transfer rate.
    The standard method we've been using is just drag and drop using Windows Explorer via FTP. I tried to use FTP VIs with Filezilla Server as well but the transfer rate is only like 1.5 MB/s. Is this normal? Once I saw it was 3.0 MB/s but for some reason, that isn't happening now.
    For another option, I tried to transfer data to a USB flash drive but it's even slower. As far as I know, USB 2.0 transfer rate is supposed to be around 60 MB/s but why would it be slower than 1.5 MB/s? What could be the speed limiting factor in my file transfer setup?
    Any tips on improving file transfer rate would be appreciated!

    Sustained 40 MB/s? That is my dream speed! The maximum speed I've ever seen here was about 25 MB/s, which is still very good, and that happened only after copying back and forth, which I explained above. Let me go through what I did with screencaps first.
    These are the test tdms files to transfer in the PXI: an original file witten in the PXI and its copy file. I copied the original file from PXI to laptop and renamed it (added '_copy') and then copied it back to PXI.
    FTP module is transferring the original file to the Filezilla server on laptop. Note the low speed.
    FTP module is transferring the copy file to the Filezilla server on laptop. Note the higher speed.
    This is the FTP sub VI I'm using. It transfers files in sub-folders (one level lower), too. The data connection is set to 'passive' on the FTP Put Multiple Files VI but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I attach the sub VI.
    You tried the file transfer with a 500 MB text file. Would there be any difference if the file type was tdms? Would the RAM size matter? It is 2GB here.
    And the LED is orange, which means Gigabit.
    Another question: Is there any way to programmatically stop file transfer in progress? Currently, I just have to restart the PXI.
    Thank you!

  • Large file transfer problems over client/server socket

    Hi,
    I wrote a simple chat problem in which I can send files from client to client. The problem is when I send large files over 101 MB the transfer freezes. I do not even get any error mesages in the console. The files I am sending are of any type (Ex mp3, movies, etc...). I am serializing the data into a "byteArray[packetSize]" and sending the file packet by packet until the whole file has been sent, and reconstructed on the other side. The process works perfectly for files smaller than 101MB, but for some reason freezes after that if the file is larger. I have read many forums and there aren't too many solutions out there. I made sure to use the .reset() method to reset my ObjectOutputStream each time I write to it.
    Here's my file sending code:
    byte[] byteArray = new byte[defaultPacketSize];
    numPacketsRequired = Math.ceil(fileSize / defaultPacketSize);
    try {
    int i = 0;
    reader = new FileInputStream(filePath);
    while (reader.available() > 0) {
    if (reader.available() < defaultPacketSize) {
    byte[] lastPacket = new byte[reader.available()];
    reader.read(lastPacket);
    try {
    if (socket == null || output == null) {
    throw new SocketException("socket does not exist");
    output.writeObject(lastPacket);
    output.reset();
    output.writeObject("DONE");
    output.reset();
    output.close();
    socket.close();
    catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println("Exception ***: " + e);
    output.close();
    socket.close();
    else {
    reader.read(byteArray);
    try {
    if (socket == null || output == null) {
    throw new SocketException("socket does not exist");
    output.writeObject(byteArray);
    output.reset();
    catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println("Exception ***: " + e);
    output.close();
    socket.close();
    reader.close();
    catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println("COULD NOT READ PACKET");
    Here's my file receiving code:
    try {
    // The message from the client
    Object streamInput;
    FileOutputStream writer;
    byte[] packet;
    while (true) {
    streamInput = input.readObject();
    if (streamInput instanceof byte[]) {
    packet = (byte[]) streamInput;
    try {
    writer = new FileOutputStream(outputPath, true);
    writer.write(packet); //Storing the bytes on file
    writer.close();
    catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println("Exception: " + e);
    else if (streamInput.equals("DONE")) {
    socket.close();
    input.close();
    break;
    catch (Exception e) {
    I'm looking for any way I can possibly send large files from client to client without having it freeze. Are there any better file transfer ways other than socket? I don't really want FTP. I think I want to keep it HTTP.
    Any suggestions would be helpful.Thanks!
    Evan

    I've taken a better look a the code you posted, and
    there is one problem with the receiving code. You
    keep repeatedly opening and closing the
    FileOutputStream. This is not going to be efficient
    as the file will keep needing to be positioned to its
    end.Yes sorry I did change that code so that it leaves the file open until completely done writing. Basically I have a progress bar that records how far along in the writing process the client is, and when the progress bar reaches 100%, meaning the file is complete, the file.close() method is invoked. Sorry about that.
    I also ran some memory tests using the "Runtime.getRuntime().totalMemory()", and "Runtime.getRuntime().freeMemory()" methods. I put these methods inside the loop where I read in the file and send it to the client. here's the output:

  • File transfer option not available for remote devices under MAX

    I am currently using LabVIEW 2012 and am using a application running on a Windows 7 PC to communicate (TCP/IP over Ethernet) with a RT PC.  I have built an installer that installs a LabVIEW application as well as MAX on the Windows 7 PC.  After installation i can open MAX and browse under Remote Systems to my RT device but am unable to ftp files to the the RT device as the File Transfer feature on the drop down menu is not shown. (This PC does not have the LabVIEW development environment installed.)  Does anyone know if there are Additional Installers that are required to be included that will activate this feature or any reason why this feature in not available?
    Regards,
    Rob

    Did you include the MAX FTP Client from the RT module in your installer? See this knowledgebase to see what I mean:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/571113c2ce05998e862574e8006005a2?OpenDocument
    Also, you can most likely just do ftp using windows explorer, if you prefer that method. Just open up windows explorer, and in the address bar type "ftp://x.x.x.x/" (where x.x.x.x is the IP address of the RT PC you are accessing.
    Also, are you using the LabVIEW real-time module on your RT PC?

    i want to upload file from client-side to server-side, i use the following code to load blob into database.
    if the file is in the server-side, it can work, but if it in the client-side, it said that the system cannot find the file. i think it only will search the file is in the server-side or not, it will not search the client-side.
    how can i solve it without upload the file to the server first, then load it into database??

    Hi,
    Without some more details of the configuration, its difficult to know
    what's happening here. For example, what do you mean by client side
    and server side, and where are you running the upload Java application?
    If you always run the application on the database server system, but can't
    open the file on a different machine, then it sounds like a file protection
    problem that isn't really connected with the database at all. That is to
    say, if the new FileInputStream (binaryFile) statement fails, then its not
    really a database problem, but a file protection issue. On the other hand,
    I can't explain what's happening if you run the program on the same machine
    as the document file (client machine), but you can't write the data to the
    server, assuming the JDBC connection string is set correctly to connect to
    the appropriate database server.
    If you can provide some more information, we'll try to help.
