Restrict selection screen when using logical Database(HR ABAP)

      I'm using <b>PNP</b> logical Database in my
      report program. I want to restrict the deafult
      selection screen.
      Pls suggest me if knows.

if you don't use the NODE or TABLE statement pnp selection screen will not come.
other wise use screen number 900 which have fever fields and you can make the invisible using
loop at screen.
endloop.

You can retrieve the required entries into an internal table and use FM F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST to provide them under F4 help.

i m using a logical database PNP and report catagory 1PY_DEF in my program.
but when i execute it , it shows to selection box. one name is period and second is selections.
but i just want to show only period box selection fields , not the selection box fields.
how it iz possible.

In my case i haved used the PNP logical database..in the selection box i don't wnat to display Contorling area,Cost Center & Organizational Unit. i have written this code to hide those fields..
AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT.
LOOP AT SCREEN.
    IF screen-name CS 'PNPKOKRS' OR
       screen-name CS 'PNPKOSTL' OR
       screen-name CS 'PNPORGEH'.
      screen-active = '0'.
      screen-invisible = '1'.
      MODIFY SCREEN.
      CLEAR screen.

Try modify hide the total block instead of individual fields in that block.

Radio Button problem when using Logical Databases.

Hi,
I have a report that uses logical database PCH. I'd like to default the reporting period radio button so that when the report is run it is defaulted to today.
The name of the screenfield is PCHZTR_D so I set
PCHZTR_D = 'X'.
in the initialisation event but this doesn't work.
Any suggestions how I can get the reporting period to default to 'today' programmatically.
I don't want to use a variant.

Try doing it in the AT SELECTION-SCREEN output Event.

How to inactivate the 'Complex Search' button when using Logical Database

Hy experts
I m using Logical Database for a select and you know that for an GET event by default in selection screen it appears some selection fields for every GET event..I manage to hide the ones that don't interest me but I have a little problem: I have a button that's called 'Complex Search' and I don't know how to get rid of this button..
Here is some code:
AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT.
LOOP AT SCREEN.
IF screen-name CP '%BT02010_BLOCK_1000'.
      screen-input = '0'.
      screen-active = 0.
      screen-invisible = 1.
      MODIFY SCREEN.
    ENDIF.
    IF screen-name CP 'QL_REFIL'.
      screen-input = '0'.
      screen-active = 0.
      screen-invisible = 1.
      MODIFY SCREEN.
    ENDIF.
I do this for every screen-name in the program that doesn t interes me..but it seams that even if I comment all the button with 'Complex Search' remains..I mention that is a disperate solution to inactivate every screen element but I could not do other way..My bigest pb is the 'Complex Seach' button..can anyone help me?? pls.. <REMOVED BY MODERATOR> ..thx..

I think this depends on your data model (relationship between the tables) and how you like to search later.
The optimization begins also with the create index statement (memory clause and storage clause).
If you like me to help I need more information about your hardware, os, datamodel and what kind of searches you will have later.

I am stuck up in filtering of data.
I am using PNP logical database in Adhoc Query, if I select Current Month as data selection than also it is giving all list of data..

1. Goto- Attribute.
2. Click "Change"
3. Click 'HR Report Category'
4. Click 'Create Report Category'
5. Click 'new entries' for careating Report Category
5. Select newly create report category
6. Click the folder 'Definition of Organizational Selection'.
7. Click 'New entries'.
8. Here you assign the required fields to be displayed, for eg pywerks - personal area.
9. finally assign this newly created 'report category' in the screen you will get upon clicking 'HR report Category' button in the Program attribute screen.

Creating Selection Screen version in Logical Database

I want to design my own Selection screen while creating a report with Logical Database. My requirement is not to show the Standard Selection screen of LDB.
Can it be achieved by creating Selection Screen Version in SE36 and using that version in Attribute of the Report?
If yes, then how can it be created?

You can change the Selection Include to include your selection screen version.
Go to SE36
Select "Selections"
Change
Create a new version like:
SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF VERSION 904 TEXT-904.
SELECTION-SCREEN EXCLUDE PARAMETERS: KD_STIDA.
SELECTION-SCREEN EXCLUDE SELECT-OPTIONS: KD_GJAHR, KD_BUDAT, KD_AUGDT,
KD_ZUONR, KD_UMSKZ.
SELECTION-SCREEN END OF VERSION 904.

I came across your un-answered question while searching for a solution on the similer problem. Though I couldn't fine a solution on SDN, but figured out one myself. Thought its a good idea to share it.
AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT.
LOOP AT SCREEN.
    IF screen-group4 = '003'.
      screen-active = 0.
      MODIFY SCREEN.
    ENDIF.
ENDLOOP.
Here screen-group4 contains the sequence number of the select-options field starting from 000 onwards.
You may like to assign points and close the question.

Need to skip the variable selection screen when using dropdown

Hello Friends,
I have created a web template having a dropdown, a table and a text element. Basically I am trying to follow the guide "How to Use a Dropdown Box to Set Variable Values". It shows how to select values for a variable using dropdown.

What is happening is when I select a value for the variable in the dropdown, the correct url is getting formed but instead of displaying the report using the selected value, the variable selection screen appears. Given below is the url that gets formed:

Thanks for your reply. This has partially resovled the issue. I have awarded you points for that. Now I am able to skip the variable screen.
However, the query results are not getting refreshed. I wanted to restirct the values based on the value given in the variable selection (In my case the dropdown box). Somehow I am not able to link the dropdown with the variable or the "SAPBWOpenURL(url);" function is having some issues.

Can I skip selection screen when using PNP & HR Report Cat?

I am using log. database PNP for my report that we are then accessing through ITS - ESS. I do not want the ESS user to see the selection screen (It populates all values in initialization). I have created an HR Report category with nothing selected, but I still get pernr as a selection.
Is there a way to skip the selection screen? (Sorry, this might be very simple and i'm missing something!)

Well, I'm thinking that you would have to have a short "driver" program.
report zdriver.
submit <zreport> and return.

Select-options when Using PNP logical database

We get a default selection screen when we use logical database in HR ABAP.
But we always get the selection elements as "PARAMETERS" and not as "SELECT-OPTIONS".
How can we change it to select options ....
I tried all the options in HR- Report categories but it is not working..

execute the program. In the selection screen
For eg:
personel Number select the Mutiple Selection option. After that select the tab select intervals and u can give the range.

Functions for displaying and changing logical databases:
Call Transaction SE36 or
Choose ABAP Workbench -> Development -> Programming environ. -> Logical databases
Interaction between database program and report:
During program processing, subroutines are performed in the database program and events are executed in the report.
To read data from a database tables we use logical database.
A logical database provides read-only access to a group of related tables to an ABAP/4 program.
advantages:-
The programmer need not worry about the primary key for each table.Because Logical database knows how the different tables relate to each other,and can issue the SELECT command with proper where clause to retrieve the data.
i)An easy-to-use standard user interface.
ii)check functions which check that user input is complete,correct,and plausible.
iii)meaningful data selection.
iv)central authorization checks for database accesses.
v)good read access performance while retaining the hierarchical data view determined by the application logic.
disadvantages:-
i)If you donot specify a logical database in the program attributes,the GET events never occur.
ii)There is no ENDGET command,so the code block associated with an event ends with the next event
statement (such as another GET or an END-OF-SELECTION).

I have to create a program that would print out employee contracts from infotype 16.
I am using logical database PNPCE.
Is there a way to add "contract type" as a selection parameter in the screen that is generated by PNPCE?

Create CTTYP(Contract type) as input parameter in the program.
Then after GET PERNR.
write check stmt for that field like below.
PARAMETERS: p_cttyp type p0016-cttyp.
GET PERNR.
CHECK p0016-cttyp EQ p_cttyp.
