RSBBS Web Address jump to iView using same window.

I’m trying to use a RSBBS Web Address (Report-Report Interface RRI, Jump to Target, Report Goto link) to jump to a portal iView. This works fine except that it opens the iView (with portal header and detailed navigation) in a new window. This is not what we need. We wish to jump to the target iView within the same browser window while retaining the portal header and detailed navigation (updated to the place where the iView is located in the Navigation).
I’ve tried coding the jump to using Javascript command SAPBWSetOpenerUrl. This opens the target iView in the same browser window but unfortunately also opens a duplicate Header and Detailed Navigation in the Content Area. This means that the Header and Detailed navigation is repeated (duplicated) every time a jump is called. This is not what we would like.
How is it possible to setup a Jump to Web Address and open the iView in the same browser window without being contained within the content area? Is there a way to “break out” of the Content Area Frame and update the entire page?
Any help on this is very much appreciated.

With JavaScript function EPCM.doNavigate, it is possible to code in the sending report
web template an additional link in the context menu pointing to a portal iView.
This runs the target web template and query.
So far, I've only managed to successfully pass one characteristic into the target report.
Here follows example code:
<SCRIPT language="JavaScript">
var dim = "0COMP_CODE";
SAPBWAddToMenu("Portal Navigation with Parameter","myMenuProcessor","1","
function myMenuProcessor(parameter,cell_type,filter,parameter1,parameter2,item,dataprovider,x,y)
{ switch (parameter) {
case "1":
DynamicParameter=FILTER_IOBJNM%3D' + dim + '%26FILTER_VALUE%3D' + parameter1);
The characteristic being passed is this example is OCOMP_CODE.
The string "ROLES://portal_content/"
is the full path to the
target iView as found in the portal role containing the report.
DynamicParameter contains the characteristic object name and filter value being
passed into the target report.
Hope this explains it for you.
If you can get the function to send more than one characteristic then please let me
know because I would like to do this as well.
best regards, Matthew

  • RSBBS web address jump (goto)  loading content in customized browser window

    I use a RSBBS web adress jump to open a new browser window from an existent template. In the new browser window another parameterized template will be loaded to show some results.
    No problem till now. But in my specification this new browser window should be similar to a pop-up with no navigation bar, no status line, no scrollbars etc. (see JS<URL>, <name>, <status=no etc.etc>).
    Cause the relevant context menu seems to be dynamically inserted, i can't find any possibility to control the tareget-window-object in the template for that the goto is defined.
    Is there a possibility to influnce this?
    Thanks a lot and keep BWing

    When you execute the Jump Target from the context menu the BW Web API command CMD=RRI is executed, you can call this URL from the JS function and set the window properties in the JS function.
    See the attached documentation for the same.

  • Certain web address not available when using Airport Extreme Base Station

    Hello. To access my "secure" account at the local library, I must use a web address that contains a colon followed by a number. I believe that this is a port number, but I confess that all the discussions here regarding ports are going well over my head, and I may be incorrect with this assumption.
    My problem is that while I CAN access this site by connecting to my DSL router directly via ethernet cable from my iMac G5, I cannot access the site when connecting to the internet in the mode: iMac Airport to Airport Extreme Base Station to DSL router via ethernet.
    The format of the web address is:, where #### is the number I guess may be specifying a port and causing my problem.
    Can anyone advise me, in simple terms, how to get to this address when in the Airport--internet connection mode? Will the solution have any adverse side effects?
    Regards and Thanks
    iMac G5, 2.5 year old AEBS   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   Westell 327W 4-port DSL Modem, not using wireless feature.

    Very likely the embedded firewall that comes with your AirPort blocks the port you are trying to use.
    In order to solve this, best way is to modify the AirPort settings (open the AirPort maintenance app):
    Click at the tab "port forwarding" and add the desired port as "public port" to the list. "private IP" is the IP of your Mac and for "private port" type in the port number again.
    If you are unsure about the IP of your Mac, look at the network maintenance application.
    Well, one side-effect is that you have an open port in your configuration which could cause security issues... but only if you are paranoid So there is nothing to care about (note that without the AirPort inbetween your Mac and your modem, this port would be not blocked and freely accessible

  • How to setup the web inspector to open in the same window not in a new window?

    Somebody help me please!!!
    How i do this?

    *1: current tab; 2:new window; 3:new tab;
    For links opened via JavaScript you can look at this pref:
    You can open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location/address bar.
    You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

  • Open Url iView in same window but full screen

    Hi ,
    I have a requirement where i need to open the url iview in the same window but in fullscreen mode.
    Also for eg if the url is ,then the iview should look similar in terms of size as opened in the normal IE browser.Also the url on the portal should change to and not http://servername:portnumber/...
    Can you please help me in doing so.

    maybe some text as url [ggpage|] is what u need, not  url view
    A URL iView is a collection of meta attributes, one of which is the URL to the information source (see )Selecting the Source URL). A built-in browser available in the URL iView Wizard and Editor enables you to navigate easily within a Web site in order to retrieve the URL of the source Web page to display in the iView.
    last word: " in the iView"

  • Bookmarks not working (locked) when using same Windows Profile on multiple machines

    My bookmarks are not working. I am using the same profile folder on two different machines (Desktop and Notebook) as I use the same Windows profile on both machines. The common profile folder is located on a third machine on our company network. Once I connect both machines to the network the bookmarks on one machine become unusuable as the other machine locks the bookmarks file. How can I manually unlock the bookmarks file places.sqlite? Renaming it and restarting FF does not help.

  • Safari not filling in web addresses automatically like it used to

    Used to be able to type in something like 'earthlink' into the url address and Safari would automatically fill it in as '' but now it is not doing this. Not aware of any changes to preferences, etc. Any ideas?

    Hi Douglas,
    It sounds as if, in a way you are being highjacked, do you use Earthlink as your ISP?
    Here are Earthlink's Opt out DNS #s, that are not included in the page, on Portforward if you live east of the Mississippi if you live west of the Mississippi
    Go to System Preferences -> Network-> Show Airport: or Ethernet:
    On the TCP/IP tab , enter the numbers in list form, in optional "DNS Servers" box that's probably blank.
    See this link on an,Earthlink blog & this topic thread for more info.
    These Verizon DNS #'s also work well for many users. See the portford link for more Dns server #'s for other ISP.
    You may also consider using Open DNS
    Hope this helps some.

  • Open web page from URL iview in maximized window

    I would like to open a web page in a <b>maximized</b> browser window, using an URL iView.
    I know how to open a window in a separate window, I just can't get it maximized.
    N.B. I do <b>NOT</b> want to open in <b>fullscreen</b> mode, i.e. I want a title bar and menus.
    Does anyone know how to do it?
    I tried to play around with the "window function" property of the iView, but no luck so far. I can't specify a fixed width and height of the target window at design time, as these values may vary at runtime.

    Hi Lothar,
    Yes, That will require Java Coding, Its true. Basically what the problem here is that to maximize we are trying to fetch the Screen resolution dynamically through Portal that Portal is not allowing us. Thats why I feel that we should go for Java Programing, Create a Par, Deploy it in the server and then create iView for that.
    For Creating the Abstract Portal Component for Opening a Maximized Window You should do following steps.
    1. Open Your NWDS
    2. Create a project ie Portal Application
    3. Create Portal Object ie Abstract Portal Component.
    Now here is the piece of code that may help you
              response.write("<SCRIPT language=javascript>");
              response.write("function onOpenWindow()");
              response.write("<a href = \"javascript:onOpenWindow()\"></a>");
    Paste this code in doContent...
    I think it may help you
    Thanx & Regards

  • I use v20.0.2, and restart using same windows and tabs is NOT working. I have deleted profile and restarted, etc., but nothing seems to work. What now?

    Not sure what else that I can provide here. This particular software function does not seem to work.

    In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":
    *do not clear Browsing History
    *Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" > Settings
    Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.
    You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder that store session data.
    Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.
    *Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder
    Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them).
    If you use cleanup software like CCleaner then check the settings for the Firefox application.

  • Web Dynpro Abap - Calling URL in same window

    I've created a new ESS type application but in WD ABAP and in the application I'd like to have an Exit button on each view to the ESS overview page and also put in a link on my confirmation page to go back to the ESS overview page.
    I've found the link I need and tried a couple of methods to call it, either with an exit plug or using the method
    lo_window_manager -> Create_external_window.
    but whatever I do, although it opens up a new page to the correct URL,  it leaves the page I was working on open.  I'd like it to basically go back to the ESS overview page (using my URL), but close the window that is currently running, so that only one window is open at a time.  Does anyone know if this is possible.
    Pam Laverty

    Yes, I had also found some documents on that and set it up to use an exit plug, and while now although it does not open up a new session in the portal,  when the new page comes up it still has the masthead from the original screen as well as the new one.
    Meaning you still see the portal header and all tabs on the screen from the original screen and then again on the screen just below we again have the portal header and all tabs showing the new page (from URL)  just below.
    Something is still not closing right.  We have portal 7.0.  I see there are come close_window options, but those are only good with 7.1 as far as I read.
    Are there anything special that needs to go in the exit plug method so that it simply closes the old screen and brings up the new URL?
    Thanks for your help.

  • When I click on a link, I would like the new web page to open in the same window. What settings do I need to do this ? Thank you.

    I tried the options / tabs and I could not find a setting for this. I am running Windows 7 with Firefox 5.0 Thank you.

    '''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
    ''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
    ''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
    '''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
    ''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
    Please report back soon.

  • Currently using Fusion, can I use same Window's install for Bootcamp?

    I would like to delete Fusion and go with Bootcamp only. Seems like Bootcamp will run better. Fusion is slow. I have an old (over 3 years) version and it does work OK, but I want to do bootcamp now.
    I have tried to update fusion and that site is a joke.
    Being that Windows in my MacBook Air already, can I somehow make it my Bootcamp partitioned drive? Or do I have to re-install it all?

    Thanks. I am going to back up the few important things and then completely erase it all.
    Then enjoy the process of Bootcamp install via the superdrive.
    Any advice for that? It has been years since I did it (on this mac) and I recall the superdrive made it difficult.
    Has this been worked out? Any advice?

  • Deleting old web addresses from Safari address bar

    When I start to type a new web address in the address bar (Safari), any previous address I have typed that begins with the same first letter or two shows up in a drop down box. This drop down box can be very lengthy and contain many web addresses I will never use again. How do I delete any or all (at once) of these old web addresses I want to get rid of? Thanks.

    There is no way to turn off URL Autocompletee or to realistically clear the autocomplete list. Autocomplete gets its data from the cache, History, and Bookmarks. The only way to minimize autocomplete is to periodically clear the cache and History and to go through your Bookmarks and delete old and seldom used ones, including those created when Safari was first installed.
    One work-around is to add an extra blank space either before you start typing or when you are done typing in the address. All the various alternatives will then disappear.
    You can add your voice to all the others who want to turn autocomplete off by requesting a toggle in Preferences by sending a feature request via "Report Bugs to Apple" under the Safari menu.
