SAP Crystal Reports data source connection problem using sap business one

Hi,
I m facing a problem regarding: SAP Crystal Reports data source connection problem using sap business one
I am trying to create a Crystal report but when I try to configure a new connection it does not work.
I select Sap Business One data source and try to complete the information required to connection but it does not list my companies databases, what is the problem?
Our Current SAP related software details are as follows:
OS: Windows Server 2008
SAP B1 Version: SAP B1 9 (902001) Patch 9
SAP Crystal Report Version: 14.0.4.738 RTM
Database: MS SQL Server 2008 R2
I have also added some screenshots of the issues.
Please have a look and let me know if you have any questions or any further clarifications.
I m eagerly waiting for a quick and positive reply.

Hi,
There is problem with SAP Business One date source.
I had faced same problem, I used OLEDB Data-source, and it worked fine for me.
So, try to use OLEDB.
Regards,
Amrut Sabnis.

    Can someone screenshot of these steps and please suggest if something else can be done.

    Hi Pawan,
    Search for the error and you should see many threads for this issue.
    Anyway, this is what I found:

  • Xcelsius - Crystal Report Data Consumer connection Issues

    Sorry for the long post but i hope with the full explaination, i can get a quick answer & solution.
    Using Crystal Reports 2008 and Xcelsius 2008 Engage, SQL 2008 stored procedure.
    I have tested the Crystal Reports Data Consumer connection within the Xcelsius program, using the following steps :
    1. Create a stored procedure that returns the Continent Name and the Count of Projects within each Continent.
    2. Create a Crystal Report using the stored procedure, 2 columns in the Details section, column names in the Page Header section.
    3. Save and export this as an Excel spreadsheet.
    4. Open the Xcelsius program, new file and import spreadsheet. Column A is the Continent Name, Column B is the Count.
    5. Without altering the spreadsheet, I created a graph using the data imbedded. i.Bar Graph, series and row selections. Ii. Pie chart with row data selection. Iii.Column data as series and row selections.
    6. Created a Crystal Report Data Consumer connection using the data imbedded within then spreadsheet. The column A as the u201CRow Headersu201D & column B as the u201CDatau201D. Took quite a while to get the right combination of selected components so that the preview actually showed the data and the corresponding data labels. The Legend still hasnu2019t shown up.
    7. Save and Export as Flash (swf) file.
    8. Close Xcelsius and open Crystal Reports.
    9. Open the same report used to create the spreadsheet and Insert -> Flash, choosing the newly created swf file.
    10. Link the data displayed On the Crystal Report to the Flash file now embedded, using the Flash Expert. Have tried both with the data listed on the Report, and the data listed as the result of the stored procedure.
    11. Previewed and the Data shown on the Graph does match the data listed within the Details section of the Report.
    12. I then altered the stored procedure to add u201C1u201D to all counts, and refreshed the Crystal Report. (I cannot add new data to the underlying database/tables, due to various other folks & projects using that same database.)
    13. The listed data does change to match the changes within the procedure.
    14. The Data labels on the Graph do change to match the changes within the procedure.
    15. The Actual Displayed Data within the Graph Does Not change to match the changes within the procedure.
    I have attempted this with a pie chart, a bar and column charts with the same affect.
    I have searched the web, printed out 4 different examples on how to make this work and still it is hit or miss. I still can not get the legend to show up, either in the preview or the within the Crystal Reports. When I preview the graph before adding the Crystal Report Data Consumer connections, it does work.
    Please someone tell me, What am I missing here ?
    Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Defining multiple Crystal Report Data Consumer connections?

    I am creating a Xcelsius object that uses data from Crystal Reports.
    To do that, I define Crystal Report Data Consumer connection. With this I can use Crystal to connect to the data source, create table of data (crosstab) and pass it to the flash object.
    But I can only define one such connection. Why can't I define more that one?
    I would like to pass two different sets of data and use them in different parts of the dashboard. Trying to get all the data into a single crosstab may not be possible.
    Is there another way to do this?
    Thanks.
    Tim

    I have found that I can pass any number of tables of data from CR to XC using flashvars, either XML or CSV.
    XML is easy, but you chew up 17 chars (64 bytes) in XML chars per column marker. And with a 64KB string max, you're left with at most 1K data points, and that's with no data!
    CSV is old school XC 4.5, converting an array in to a row-order string, not nearly as convenient as a Crystal Report Data Consumers, but it works and you have only a 4 byte overhead per column (the comma.)
    Converting cross-tabs to strings, though, can be a bear because cross-tabs are evaluated column-order and you may not know how many columns you are going to have.
    So use the Crystal Reports Data Consumer for the intricate cross-tab and CSV flashvars for the other tables.
    And then hope it all loads in less than 7 seconds.

  • Change all reports data source connection

    I have numerous SQL reports that require their data source connection changed. Does anyone have code to change all reports that use a data source name of 'Data_Warehouse_Main' to a different shared connection.
    Thanks

    Hi BiscuitB,
    According to your description, there are numerous SQL reports and their data source need to be changed. You used RSScripter but it does not work.
    In Reporting Services, if we want to change data sources of multiple SSRS Report, we can use Powershell to set the data sources for an item in a report server database or SharePoint library. To achieve your goal, we need to use both the Reporting Service
    GetItemDataSources Method and the SetItemDataSources Method. You can refer to the thread provided by PrajapatiNeha, and the PowerShell script sample will be helpful for you.
    Reference:
    GetItemDataSources Method
    SetItemDataSources Method
    If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.
    Thanks,
    Wendy Fu

  • Setting Crystal Report data source at runtime

    In advance, I've read all of the posts on here about dynamically changing the data source for your report at runtime and none of it seems to work.
    I developed a report against my development database using an MySQL ODBC connection. At runtime I want to pull the data from the production database. I've tried clearing the DataSourceConnections. I've tried the SetDatabaseLogon as well as Table.LogOnInfo, Table.ApplyLogOnInfo, SetConnection, everything.
    I am using the pull method for getting the data, so CR has entire control over the mechanism used to fetch the data.
    But when I am setting some other data source I am greeted with a logon screen for the database, I i check use itegrated security then it says logon failed and if I uncheck use integrated security checkbox then it shows unable to load report and an exception is thrown
    Anyone have any ideas? I'm using Visual Studio 2010 and Crystal Reports 2011 developer edition.Apart from this my Database is in mysql and I am binding report with the MySQL Procedure.
    Note: Both these database just differ in name, Infact they are same database just I have changed the name, so the procedure and the fields are same.
    Thanks in advance.

    So if ODBC doesn't allow me to change the data source, can't it be done in some other way without mingling with each and every report.
    BDW I am able to change the data-source at designer mode,
    Currently the connection string being used is
    private readonly ConnectionInfo crConnectionInfo = new ConnectionInfo
                DatabaseName = "DB NAME",
                IntegratedSecurity = true,
                Password = "admin",
                ServerName = "localhost",
                UserID = "root"
    I just want it to read from same copy of database place at some other location so the connection string will be modified as
    private readonly ConnectionInfo crConnectionInfo = new ConnectionInfo
                DatabaseName = "Same copy of database record may change but structure will be same",
                IntegratedSecurity = true,
                Password = "admin",
                ServerName = "IP address of the machine",
                UserID = "root"

  • Change crystal report data source dynamically failed with multi tables report

    hello all
    i have many reports created by someone else on his own machine using same database file i use
    my application use Visual studio 2013 win form with crystal report pack 9
    i use rpt files provided to me
    connect database use OLEDB
    to show form i use below code
    SQLstr = " select what ever  from  table "                      ' defined as Public
    reportName = rpt file path & report name
    showReport()
    public sub showReport()
    reportTable.clear()                                                       ' defined as Public
    DBAdapter = new oleDpdataAdapter(SQLstr,DBconnection)
    DBAdapter.fill(reportTable)
    dim rptDoc as new Crystaldesicin.crystalreports.Engine.ReportDocument
    rptDoc.load(reportName)
    rptDoc.setdatasource(reportTable)
    formRpt.RptViewer.reportsource = rptDoc
    formRpt.showdialog()
    now
    when i use one table report with (select from one table) >>>>> works perfectly
    but when i use report retrieve data from 2 tables and group   data like using
    SQLstr = " select 'table'.'coulumn', 'table2'.'column' ....... etc
    from 'table1'
    INNER JOIN 'table2' ON 'table'.'coulumn' = 'table2'.'column'
    it's not working and formrpt shown but asking for database login
    I noted that in database login window : server name refer to ORIGINAL DATABASE USED BY Report Creator not to my local database
    ================================================
    i tried to set
    rptDoc.datasourceconnection.item(0).setconnection("","databse file path and name", False)
    rptDoc.datasourceconnection.item(0).setlogin("admin","")
    but the same
    using dataset instead of reportTable the same error
    ================================================
    what i missed in this type of reports?
    ( apologize about long take and poor English )

  • Weblogic - jndi and data source connectivity problem

    Unable to deploy EJB: OrganizationEJB from sempire_bc.jar
    The DataSource with the JNDI name: OrganizationDB can not be located. Please ensure
    that the DataSource has been deployed
    successfully and that the JNDI name in your EJB Deployment descriptor is correct.
    In my console, I have created a connection pool 'oraclePool' and 3 datasource
    'jdbc.GangsterDB', 'jdbc.OrganizationDB' and
    'jdbc.JobDB'. I have also specified the target server and there seems to be no

    am getting and have no clue how to solve it.

    just looking at you weblogic-ejb-jar.xml,
    your ejb jndi names are the same as the data source jndi names...this
    may be your problem.

    Unable to deploy EJB: OrganizationEJB from sempire_bc.jar
    The DataSource with the JNDI name: OrganizationDB can not be located. Please ensure
    that the DataSource has been deployed
    successfully and that the JNDI name in your EJB Deployment descriptor is correct.
    In my console, I have created a connection pool 'oraclePool' and 3 datasource
    'jdbc.GangsterDB', 'jdbc.OrganizationDB' and
    'jdbc.JobDB'. I have also specified the target server and there seems to be no
    error. I have checked 'Monitor All Connection
    Pools' and oraclePool is running. I still do not understand the problem that I
    am getting and have no clue how to solve it.
    Thank you

    If you are trying to connect using ODBC Socket, this Tech

  • Using Crystal Report Data Connection in Xcelcius 2008

    The documentation does not explain how data to populate row, column and details is passed to SWF.
    Can some-one please point how CR Data Connection when created in Xcelcius 2008 is used in Crystal Report Design time ? Is it through Flash variables? Basically more details are needed for "when setup properly" clause. How to map Crystal Reports Fields to Xcelcius Definitions.
    Thanks
    Harish Tejwani
    From Doc:
    "With the release of Crystal Reports 2008, it is now possible to embed an Xcelsius-generated SWF file into a Crystal Report and have the SWF consume data from that report. When set up properly, refreshing the data in your Crystal Report will update the embedded SWF.
    To configure your Xcelsius SWF to consume data from its Crystal Rport source data, you must open the Data Manager in Xcelsius and add a new Crystal Report Data Consumer connection. After adding the connection, bind the following ranges to your spreadsheet:  Row Headers, Column Headers, Data"
    "Using Crystal Reports 2008, embed the SWF file into the Crystal Report source data file. When designing your Crystal Report, you will determine what fields/data populate the Row Headers, Comumn Headers, and Data ranges that were designated in your Xcelsius SWF. When set up properly, refereshing your Crystal Report will also refresh the data being sent to and consumed by the embedded SWF. See"

  • How to use the distinct key in formula field in SAP Crystal Reports

    I want to use the distinct key in formula field in SAP Crystal reports.
    When i'm using it shows an error.
    Please suggest me....

    Hi,
    Use DistinctCount keyword directly for your calculation instead of count(distinct(....
    Alternatively, if you want to avoid duplicate records, under "File" > "Report Options" make the 'Select Distinct Records' as True.
    Thanks,

  • SAP Crystal Reports 2011 - Product keycode

    Dear all,
    I have been requested to install SAP Crystal Reports 2011 to use it as a reporting tool for our SAP ERP 6.0.
    However, I got stuck when the installation program asks me for the "Product Keycode". Does anybody know if there is a temporary product keycode so we can evaluate this product before purchasing it?If so, where is it?
    Once SAP Crystal Reports 2011 is successfully installed, do we need to install anything else in order to set up the connection between SAP Crystal Reports 2011 and SAP ERP 6.0?
    Thanks in advance,
    Marc

    Since someone on your site obtained CR 2011, they should also have a permanent keycode...
    Failing that, the only way to get a 30 day temp  eval keycode is from here;
    http://www.sap.com/solutions/sapbusinessobjects/sme/freetrials/index.epx
    But you will still have to go back to who ever obtained your current CR 2011 and ask them for a permanent keycode.
    Re. Connection to SAP ERP 6.0. You're better off asking in the SAP Crystal Reports Database Connectivity|SAP Crystal Reports - Data Connectivity; forum rather than in this forum.

  • Crystal Reports for Enterprise connection error to BI 4.0 Platform

    Hi All
    We are trying to connect Crystal Reports for Enterprise to our BI 4.0 Platform, however we are getting the following error: "Failed to establish a connection. The cause was: Cannot connect to SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise at this time. Please try again later".
    System Information:
    - SAP BI Platform 4.0 SP02 patch 6
    - Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit
    - Tomcat 6.0.24
    We have also installed the following client software:
    - SAP BI Platform Client Tools 4.0 SP02
    - SAP Crystal Reports for Enterprise 4.0 SP02
    - SAP BI Platform Client Tools 4.0 SP02 Patch 6
    - SAP Crystal Reports for Enterprise 4.0 SP02 Patch 6
    Our deployment of the BI Platform is a distributed system where
    - Server 1 hosts the BI Platform Services and
    - Server 2 hosts the web application server
    We have reviewed the following OSS Notes below from SAP first to determine if there is a technical issue :
    - 1598906 - Crystal Reports for Enterprise gives Cannot Connect to SAP Business Objects Enterprise at this time. Please try again later.
    We have adjusted the "dsws.properties" as mentioned in the OSS note 1598906 above to contain the correct CMS and CMS port number (for Server 1).
    - 1602024 - Error - Failed to establish a connection. The cause was - Cannot Connect to SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise at this time.
    We have entered the server context as "/dswsbobje" mentioned in the OSS note 1602024 above in the connection details for CR for Enterprise connections
    - 1636862 - Login for Crystal Reports fail on BO Server Cannot Connect to SAP Business Objects Enterprise at this time.
    We have checked the proxy settings of Internet Explorer and adjusted it to have the following exceptions defined:
    - Server 1.<domain_name>
    - Server 2.<domain.name>
    In the CMC, we also checked in the applications section for the web service option's access URL andchanged it from http://localhost:8080/dswsbobje to http://server2:8080/dswsbobje
    We restarted the tomcat service and tried to access the CR for Enterprise from the BI Launch Pad as well as starting it directly from Windows, howevere we still get the same error.

    Hi Anna-Marie
    I apologise for only responding now back.
    I have managed to logon successfully from Crystal Reports for Enterprise 2011 to the BI 4.0 Platform now, where we can create a report and save the report back to the BI Platform.
    As we have a distributed system, where the BI Platform is on one server (Server1) and the WebAs on another server (Server2). We had to adjust thefollowing settings on the WebAs system.
    1. On the WebAs server (Server 2), in the directory <install drive>:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\webapps\dswsbobje\WEB-INF we changed the file: web.xml by entering the default CMS.
        <context-param>
            <param-name>cms.default</param-name>
            <param-value>Server2:6400</param-value>
        </context-param>
    2.Then also in the directory <install drive>:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\webapps\dswsbobje\WEB-INF\classes we changed the file: dsws.properties where the section for domain=Server2 to domain=Server1 (example below from the file)
    #default host for CMS and will be replaced during installationdomain=Server1:6400
    3. In internet explorer's proxy exceptions, we set the following:
    server1.<domain>*
    server2.<domain>*
    4. In the local Intranet setting, we also set the site as:
    http://*.<domain>
    Now for my laptop the connection works with no issues, but another developer's does not work - so we are busy investigating what is different between my laptop and his laptop.
    Update:
    We found that a setting inside the Crystal Reports for Enterprise 2011 in the network settings had to also be adjusted.
    5. Use the menu path: Edit > Preferences > Network settings
    6. Switch from "use system proxy configuration (if available)" to "Manual proxy configuration"
    Enter the HTTP proxy address: proxy_server
    Enter the Port: 80 (example)
    Enter the list of servers to bypass: Server1;Server2
    Check the checkbox "Enable proxy authentication"
    Enter a username
    Enter a password
    Click on the OK button.
    7. Afterward change the setting from "Manual proxy configuration" to  "use system proxy configuration (if available)"
    Then Crystal Reports for Enterprise 2011 works correctly.
    What we found was that Crystal Reports for Enterprise 2011 must authenticate against the proxy server first otherwise one has issues.
    Regards
    Derek
