Data source connection problem

Hi, im starting to get into Coldfusion and im trying to
connect to a database but when i make the data source and submit it
it times out.
I tried going to the data sources main page and the database
does showup but when i click the little verify button it tells me
there'es been an error. it says:
"Connection verification failed for data source: Teacloud
java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC
Driver][SequeLink Server]The specified data source is not defined.
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException:
[Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC Driver][SequeLink Server]The specified
data source is not defined."
not sure what it means. Can anyone help?
Thanks
-kaco

If you are trying to connect using ODBC Socket, this Tech
Note should help:

Make sure you are using the correct driver and have all the
required information correctly entered under Advanced
Settings.

    Hi,
I m facing a problem regarding: SAP Crystal Reports data source connection problem using sap business one
I am trying to create a Crystal report but when I try to configure a new connection it does not work.

I have also added some screenshots of the issues.
Please have a look and let me know if you have any questions or any further clarifications.
I m eagerly waiting for a quick and positive reply.

    Hi,
There is problem with SAP Business One date source.
I had faced same problem, I used OLEDB Data-source, and it worked fine for me.
    So, try to use OLEDB.
    Regards,
    Amrut Sabnis.

  • Weblogic - jndi and data source connectivity problem

Unable to deploy EJB: OrganizationEJB from sempire_bc.jar
The DataSource with the JNDI name: OrganizationDB can not be located. Please ensure
that the DataSource has been deployed
successfully and that the JNDI name in your EJB Deployment descriptor is correct.
In my console, I have created a connection pool 'oraclePool' and 3 datasource
    'jdbc.GangsterDB', 'jdbc.OrganizationDB' and
'jdbc.JobDB'. I have also specified the target server and there seems to be no
error. I have checked 'Monitor All Connection
Pools' and oraclePool is running. I still do not understand the problem that I
am getting and have no clue how to solve it.
    Thank you

your ejb jndi names are the same as the data source jndi names...this
    may be your problem.

Unable to deploy EJB: OrganizationEJB from sempire_bc.jar
The DataSource with the JNDI name: OrganizationDB can not be located. Please ensure
that the DataSource has been deployed
successfully and that the JNDI name in your EJB Deployment descriptor is correct.
In my console, I have created a connection pool 'oraclePool' and 3 datasource
    'jdbc.GangsterDB', 'jdbc.OrganizationDB' and
'jdbc.JobDB'. I have also specified the target server and there seems to be no
error. I have checked 'Monitor All Connection
Pools' and oraclePool is running. I still do not understand the problem that I
am getting and have no clue how to solve it.
    Thank you

  • Error while importing the tables from MySQL using the data source connection

    Hi,
I am trying to import tables from MySQL into Powerpivot using the data source connection, if use the import using the Query option its working fine but not with the select list of table option.
when i click on the select list of tables option, i get the below error after selecting all the tables to be imported:
    OLE DB or ODBC error.
An error occurred while processing table 'XXXXXXXXXX'.
The current operation was cancelled because another operation in the transaction failed.

    Hi Bharat17an,
Please provide the detail information when create the MySQL connection in your PowerPivot model. Here is a good article regarding "how to Use MySQL and Microsoft PowerPivot Together" for your reference, please see:
    http://www.datamensional.com/2011/09/how-to-use-mysql-and-microsoft-powerpivot-together-2/
If this issue still persists, please help to collection windows event log information. It maybe helpful for us to troubleshoot this issue.

  • Change all reports data source connection

I have numerous SQL reports that require their data source connection changed. Does anyone have code to change all reports that use a data source name of 'Data_Warehouse_Main' to a different shared connection.
    Thanks

    Hi BiscuitB,
According to your description, there are numerous SQL reports and their data source need to be changed. You used RSScripter but it does not work.
In Reporting Services, if we want to change data sources of multiple SSRS Report, we can use Powershell to set the data sources for an item in a report server database or SharePoint library. To achieve your goal, we need to use both the Reporting Service
GetItemDataSources Method and the SetItemDataSources Method. You can refer to the thread provided by PrajapatiNeha, and the PowerShell script sample will be helpful for you.
    Reference:
    GetItemDataSources Method
    SetItemDataSources Method
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

  • Managing data source connections inside an Excel workbook for deployment reasons

    Hi,
with a certain frequency, I use Excel to show SQL Server data, or SSAS data, etc. in tables, pivot tables, ...
So, a single Excel workbook can contain more connections and ofter a same connection is used.
When an Excel is deployed to a prod environment from a test environment an issue it to update each data source connections by specifing the prod server and/or the prod instance. To avoid to accomplish the boring task to change each single connection,
is it possible to perform it in a more simple or automatic manner?
    Any ideas, please?
    Thanks

    Hey pscorca,
When you deployed Excel files to a product environment, why did you need to change the data source? Did you move SQL server DB and SSAS DB to the product environment too?
And when you click Data->From SQL Server/From AS ,then Excel should create a Office data connection file which is usually saved in: C:\Users\Username\Documents\My Data Sources . If you have multiple Excel files need to use the same connection,
you can choose the Existing Connections, then select the odc file. If you want to change your connections, you just need to Edit the .odc file.

  • SharePoint 2010 Report using a Shared Data Source Connection file (.rsds) is forcibly closed.

    Hi -
When attempting to render a report (.rdl) in a SharePoint 2010 document library that has a

  • SmartView 11.1.1.2 Data Source Connection Manager is Disabled.

I recently did a fresh install of Oracle Hyperion EPM 11.1.1.2 in a Windows 2003 Enterprise Server (64-bit) environment.
I'm now having problems running Smart View in this environment.
When I attempt to connect to a cube, from within Excel, the Data Source Manager appears in the right-hand pane, but I can't interact with it. Also, nothing at all appears in the Data Source Manager pane.
I've duplicated this problem in a Windows 7 RC1 64-bit environment as well (Yes, I know. It's not supported).
This looks like some sort of Active X issue.
I am running Office 2007 SP1. However, applying the latest MS Office updates did not alleviate the issue. I also enabled macros and active x controls through the "Trust Center", but that did not help either.
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hello all,
Nice to know misery has lots of company. Having the same problem. I've gotten lots of suggestions and have tried everything short of reinstalling OS. The strange thing is that it was working at initially but my laptop crashed and I reinstalled everything. This problem appeared after the reinstall.
I'll keep trying and will let you know if the OS reinstall does the trick...
If anyone else comes up with something better - please post.
    Thanks,

  • WAS 6.1 JNDI data source connection CRXI R2 Developer

    Hi all,
I've been tasked to get a JNDI connection from a WAS 6.1 server to a Oracle DB to use in developing a report.
The CR developer I'm using is CR Developer;Product Type: Full Product Version: 11.0.0.1282
I have created a simple Java 'main' class to test the JNDI connection using the following jars:
    com.ibm.ws.admin.client_6.1.0.jar
    com.ibm.ws.runtime_6.1.0.jar
    com.ibm.ws.webservices.thinclient_6.1.0.jar
    ibmorb.jar
    ojdbc-14.jar
    rsadbutils.jar
    rsahelpers.jar
I have been able to retrieve data from the Oracle DB through the 'main' class and display it on the console.
However, after I set the CRConfig.xml file's classpath to use these jars, along with a jar I created that contains a jndi.properties file that contains the org.omg.CORBA.ORBClass=com.ibm.CORBA.iiop.ORB property because the JVM that the CR developer is pointing at is a Sun 1.6 HotSpot JVM.
When I try getting the connection, Database -> Database Expert -> Create New Connection -> JDBC (JNDI), select the JNDI Connection option and enter the relevant information, the developer finds the JNDI names that I'm looking for. Then I 'Click' the Finish button and receive the following error pop-up:
    Logon Failed.
Details: SQL Exception: SQL State: null ERROR Message: Invalid argument(s) in callDSRA0010E: SQL State= null, Error Code = 17,068 Database Vendor Code: 17068
I have noticed that I can replicate this error message, through the 'main' class I used to test the connection, if I remove the username/password arguments from the method I use to get the DB connection.
Is there anything that I'm missing to successfully use this WAS data source?
I have tested a WebLogic 10.3 connection and the CR Developer had no problem finding/using the connection?
Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Experts,
I am using two instances of MII 12.1.8 Build (20), at which am recently facing problems in the Data Server Connections.
Am not able to connect to the Data Servers using connectors [IDBC, Virtual IDBC].
When I checked the status of the servers, it is showing the status as running but there is no available connections.
When trying to create the query templates I dont get the available tables list populated too.

    For virtual IDBC,
    ServerPackage: com.sap.xmii.Illuminator.connectors.Proxy

  • XML data source - Performance problem

Environment - Crystal Reports 2008 , crjava-runtime_12.2.200 jar files, Java 1.5  and XML data source
We are generating reports from our java application. .rpt file is designed using CR 2008 .
The problem we have is its taking longer time to generate a report. Atleast its taking 5-6 minutes. XML file size is around 300 KB. .rpt file size is 2000 KB.
Steps involved in report generation in Java program.
    1. Creating ReportClientDocument.
    2.Opening ReportClientDocument( reportClientDocument.Open())
    3. constructing XML datasource IXMLDataSet(xml_ds). ( setting XML and XSD)
    4. setting the datasource to database controller. -- reportClientDocument.getDatabaseController().setDataSource(xml_ds, "", "")
    5. then exporting the report in pdf format.
I don't know what I am doing wrong. Please advise me to improve the performance of this function.
    Thanks,
    Makesh

    Ted,
I figured out the cause of the problem. I am using JDeveloper as my IDE thats causing the delay. When I deployed the application and ran it, it took just 30 secs for the report using "Pushing" mechanism. Thats amazing. Thanks for your support.
I have another problem. I am not sure whether to post a separate thread for this problem. Anyway I explain the problem here. If you think it needs another thread, I will post a new one.
When I use my IDE or the following command JRC runs fine and generates the reports with graphs and all.
    java -classpath C:\JDK\java1.5\bin\CERT.jar;C:\oracle\JDeveloper10.1.3\jdbc\lib\ojdbc14dms.jar;C:\oracle\JDeveloper10.1.3\jdbc\lib\orai18n.jar;C:\oracle\JDeveloper10.1.3\jdbc\lib\ocrs12.jar;C:\oracle\JDeveloper10.1.3\diagnostics\lib\ojdl.jar;C:\oracle\JDeveloper10.1.3\lib\dms.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\log4j-1.2.8.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\CRLib\com.azalea.ufl.barcode.1.0.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\CRLib\commons-collections-3.1.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\CRLib\commons-configuration-1.2.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\CRLib\commons-lang-2.1.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\CRLib\commons-logging.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\CRLib\CrystalCommon2.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\CRLib\CrystalReportsRuntime.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\CRLib\cvom.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\CRLib\DatabaseConnectors.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\CRLib\icu4j.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\CRLib\jai_imageio.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\CRLib\JDBInterface.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\CRLib\jrcerom.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\CRLib\keycodeDecoder.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\CRLib\log4j.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\CRLib\logging.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\CRLib\pfjgraphics.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\CRLib\QueryBuilder.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\CRLib\webreporting-jsf.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\CRLib\webreporting.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\CRLib\XMLConnector.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\CRLib\xpp3.jar;C:\Apps\CERTLib\iText-2.1.5.jar -Xms256m -Xmx512m com.cert.gui.CERTMainFrame
Note: CERT.jar has all the application classes and library classes.
But when I package all these jar files in to single jar file and run the below command, it generates reports with all the features except Graphs.
    java -Xms256m -Xmx512m -jar CERT.jar (OR)
    java -classpath C:\JDK\java1.5\bin\CERT.jar; -Xms256m -Xmx512m com.cert.gui.CERTMainFrame

I need the above command to run successfully as I am planning to use java web start for application deployment.
Please help me to solve this problem.

  • Transaction on Oracle 9i data source connection times out before JTA transaction

    Hello,
    I have a MDB with a long-running transaction (3600 second timeout).
In the MDB, I make a call to another EJB that has its transaction
attribute set to NotSupported (I do this because I need

  • Generic Data Source Creation Problem....URGENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hello BW Experts...!
I need to create a Generic Data Source out of a table called VBSEGK... I was trying in the usual way with RSO2 , but when I press save button after entering the Table name the following error is coming:
" Invalid Extract Stucture Template VBSEGK of Data Source ZPARK_01"
and when I click on the error message its showing
    Diagnosis
You tried to generate an extract structure with the template structure VBSEGK. This operation failed, because the template structure quantity fields or currency fields, for example, field DMBTR refer to a different table.
    Procedure
Use the template structure to create a view or DDIC structure that does not contain the inadmissable fields.
VBSEGK is a standard table , so I cant change the Table structure. Can any one give me some idea of how to create Data source with this table ASAP ASAP please....
Please ask me questions if you didnt get this...
    thanks

    Hi Harish,
    Please check OSS note 335342.
    Symptom
The creation of a generic DataSource which is extracted from a DDIC view or a transparent table terminates with error message R8359:Invalid extract structure template &2 of Datasource &1
    Other terms
OLTP, DataSource, extractor, data extraction, generic extractor
    Reason and Prerequisites
The problem is caused by a program error.
    Solution
The table or view used for extraction must have currency and unit fields within the field list of the table/view for all currency and quantity key figures.Otherwise the consistency of the extracted data cannot be ensured. To make the generation possible, check whether all key figures of your table refer to unit fields that are within the field list.If this is not the case, there are two possibilities:
    1. A table is used for extraction.
Create a view in which you have a currency / unit field contained in the view for each key figure. The currency / unit field from the table must be included in the view to which the key figure actually refers.
    Example:
Field WKGBTR of table COEP refers to the unit field WAERS of table TKA01. In a view that contains field COEP-WKGBTR, table TKA01 and field WAERS must be included in the field list.
If the currency or the unit a key figure refers to is not located in a table but in a structure, the key figure has to be removed from the view and read via a customer exit (see below). Structures cannot be included in a view.
ATTENTION!! Often the key of the table in which the referenced unit is located, does not agree with the key in the table with the corresponding key figure. In this case, the join condition of both tables is not unique in the view definition, that means for each key line of the table with the key figure, several lines of the table with the unit may be read: the result is a multiplying of the number of lines in the view by a factor corresponding to the number of lines that fit the key figure, in the unit table. To be able to deliver consistent data to a BW system, check whether the unit of the key figure in question should always have a fixed value. If yes then you can determine that in the view definition via 'GoTo -> Selection conditions'. If no, then you must proceed as follows:
    a) Remove the key figure from the view
    b) Define the DataSource
    c) Enhance the extract structure by key figure and unit for each append (Transaction RSA6)
    d) Add the key figure and the unit in a customer exit
    2. A view is already used for the extraction
If it is not possible to obtain a unit of measure from a table on which the view is based, the unit field must be deleted from the field list.
A note in relation to the upward compatibility of BW-BCT InfoSources: BW-BCT 1.2B was not yet able to check units and currency fields. For this reason, it is possible that InfoSources which were defined in the source system as of BW-BCT 1.2B must be redefined as of 2000.1 in the manner described above. However, checks are absolutely essential for the consistency of the extracted data.
