Screen rotation doesn't work on Dell Venue 11 Pro
I'm running Windows Technical Preview for Enterprise Build 9879 on a Dell Venue 11 Pro. It has the Intel Core-i5-4300Y processor and Intel HD graphics chipset.
All devices are recognized in Device Manager, but the screen does not rotate if I turn the tablet.
Is anyone else having issues with screen rotation?
I have Dell venue 11 pro 5130 version with the atom processor. And I think my tech preview just updated to the 9879 Build... I have only had tech preview installed less than a week.
The previous build I had (and I have no idea what the build was) Did rotate the screen just fine, but now I have to manually toggle the orientation.

After upgrade to IOS 4 screen rotation doesn't work.
I just upgraded my iPhone 3Gs to IOS 4 and the screen doesn't rotate with any apps when I turn the iphone 90 degrees to the horizontal. Any fixes anyone knows of? Thanks
Update on my particular issue:
When I open an app that responds to screen rotation (photos, safari), hold my phone on its side and then shake up down very hard, then the screen will rotate. If I tip it back up into portrait orientation the screen still doesn't rotate. But if I shake the phone hard in that orientation, the screen will rotate.
So maybe I've got hardware issues. -
Projector works on Dell Venue Pro 11 tablet?

I am trying to run a director 11.5 windows projector (made on a mac) on Dell Venue 11 Pro tablet (win 8.1/1920x1080/baytrail CPU) and am having problems with "alignment" on the screen. The 1920x1080 movie seems to be loading but fills only about 60% of the screen. You can see the desktop through the other 40%. It appears that the movie (at normal size) has been shifted up by 250 pixels and to the left by 400 pixels and is playing. So you are seeing the desktop through lower "SW" portion of the screen.
This particular movie ran fine on a microsoft surface pro tablet a few months ago (no access to that projector file, I republsihed). Unfortuntately I do not have access to that surface tablet anymore. I am wondering if there is a problem with the integrated graphics hardware and/or the processor in the dell. The venue has the new baytrail processor and integrated intel graphics. The surface pro has an i5 processor.

AKMade some other windows projectors (on the mac) with the following results and run on the dell venue tablet.
(1) 1600x900 - similar problem with only part of screen showing
(2) 1280x720 - projector seems to be working and displaying properly. The projector image is scaled to fill the full 1920 screen width.
I am beginning to think that there is a problem with the intel integrated graphics hardware. I should add that the problem I am having also occured a few months ago when I tested a similar projector with a acer iconia w3 tablet (8 inch screen/windows 8.0/1280x800/atom Z2760 CPU/intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD hardware).
I hope that problem has a solution, hopefully coming as a director 11.6 upgrade and director 12.1 upgrade. I think this combination of cpu and graphics hardware is a going to do pretty good business. -
ssince I updated my iPhone 5s to ios8 ive had nothing but problems...
first the the screen rotation is not working... Checked the settings and lock is off.... The wifi is intermittent, some times it works sometimes it doesn't....
the he iPhone is really slow now, like really labouring.... It hangs and crashes all the time.... I have to close apps down completely because they won't work from quick launch anymore.... Even writing this the phone is labouring.... It's like my old 48k spectrum.... I don't expect this from Apple and when you spend £400-500 on a phone you expect it to work and play propperly.... come on Apple you need to sort out this mess of a update.... Ios 7 was no bother......Same issue here... iphone5S 64GB. It's intermittent. Sometimes the rotation works fine, sometimes it doesn't, but most of the time it doesn't work.
The first time I figured out it wasn't working was when all newly-taken photos and videos were showing up in portrait mode though I always hold in landscape mode when photographing.
Rotation lock is disabled (tried toggling it on and off). Tried recalibrating the compass on a whim, no effect (although my compass seems to always require calibration when it's launched now).
This issue only started happening after upgrading to iOS8. I did a reset/restore through iTunes rather than an OTA upgrade.
UPDATE - power-cycling the phone seems to fix it temporarily. -

Some known problems:
As with the last build, you’re getting hot-off-the-presses code which means there are a few issues. We’ll be publishing WU updates shortly to fix the first two, but the remainder will not be fixed for 9879.
•In some cases you may get a black screen when trying to log-in or unlock. The only option is to hold the power button to hard reboot.
•You will be unable to connect to Distributed File System network locations.
•Some systems may see disk growth of 20GB+ due to driver install duplication. On systems with low disk space this can block setup and cause a rollback to the previous build.
•Skype calls will disconnect and Music will stop playing if those apps are minimized.
•There are several known issues with screen sharing with Lync.
Let’s wait for next builds.

I bought an Iphone 4S-16G last week and I understood that on of my Iphone sensor ( auto rotate ) doesn't work it means when I landscape my iphone my messages or photos or in a games doesn't rotate , Now what should I do ?
I already restored and turned off and turned on and checked rotation option in portrate oriention by double clicking but it didn't work .
Please Help me .oops my bad, you did say exactly that you had tried that. Sorry. Also you already Restored too. Only thing I could add, is to Restore as New iPhone, at end of Restore when prompted Set Up as New iPhone. And then see if better. Anyway, iPhone 4S has full Warranty, make Genius Reservation and take iPhone to Apple for resolution.

Delete key in on screen keyboard for Dell Venue Pro 8 tablet?
Using Windows 8.1 on a Dell Venue Pro 8 tablet. The software, onscreen keyboard does not have a Delete key. That makes it very hard to do any editing after highlighting a block of text. Hitting the backspace key takes it out of the block edit mode and
just deletes on letter at a time. Anyone know if this is a general Windows tablet problem or possibly some unique to the Dell Venu Pro 8 tablet? I would like to change the keyboard layout to include the Delete key. Also, is there setting so it could recognize
when to capitalize a word? I would think that my Sumsung phone would not have a better software keyboard, but it has a much, much better version in SwiftKey.I guess you mean the "touch keyboard" ?
There is a "keyboard selector" key in the bottom right hand corner, which allows you to select alternative layouts - have you tried that?

i'm working on imaging dell venue Pros 5130s. I believe I have everything set up correctly (i'm imaging on a dock) . I get the Checking Media... ipv4 screen that goes past to the ipv6 screen and hangs. i'm on sccm 2012 r2. can u
point me to some logs to check? or have advice?

Installation Problem - Skype for Desktop on Dell Venue Pro 8
I have a new Dell Venue Pro 8. It had the modern Skype app installed out of the factory, but clicking on it made me download the Skype for desktop app. It downloads fine (in looking through the forums, I saw that others had problems with this, but it was fine for me). The problem comes when it's installing. Skype brings up the "Installing Skype" window. The problem is that it takes up the whole screen. I can do what I need to with the "Select your language" drop-down menu, but there is nothing that lets me go to the next screen. I see no "Next" or "OK" or anything like that to use to continue the installation process. I cannot resize the window. Maximize and minimize are the only options. "Move" and "resize" are grayed out. When I click on the 'help' key in the elements 12 program it wants to open it in Firefox2. Firefox doesn't work on my Macbook Pro Air. I use Safari. How do I get it to open?
Hmm, that is very strange. I agree with MichelB that it's probably best just to get the PDF, but you can try going to your username>library>preferences and deleting:
com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist

To see the library, click the Go menu in the Finder and hold down the option key and it will appear below the little house for your user account. While you're in there it wouldn't be a bad idea to go to the Saved Application States folder and delete anything pertaining to PSE.
Repair permissions and see if that does it. -

If my front screen camera doesn't work

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $99 for the 16 GB 5G and $149 for the other 5Gs. They do not fix yours.

Without a working lock screen button, you'll probably have to wait for the battery to go dead. Once it doesn't wake up by pressing the home button you can plug it into a charger and it will eventually reboot.
