SPNego configuration with Active Directory as UME datasource

Here are some additional informations:
According to SAP note 718383 changing an existing datasource configuration "dataSourceConfiguration_abap.xml" is not possible.
But my aim is to connect an ADS server as datasource
(dataSourceConfiguration_ads_readonly_db_with_krb5.xml).
Can I use my existing J2EE Engine at all?
The system has evolved like this:
BW 3.5 installation, upgrade to NW2004s, then Java Add In-Installation.
Or is it necessary to install an additional java instance?
I have just experiemented a bit:
In the Offline-Configtool the UME Property "Global server configuration ->
services -> com.sap.security.core.ume.service ->
ume.persistence.data_source_configuration" changed like this:
OLD: dataSourceConfiguration_abap.xml
NEW: dataSourceConfiguration_ads_readonly_db_with_krb5.xml
Then I restarted the J2EE cluster.
Result: the server0 process does not start anymore.
But at least now I could enter same values for the LDAP server (in the Offline-Configtool),
choose values from the drilldown list for the several configuration files and so on...
-> but is this the correct way at all?
Kind regards

Hi Rüdiger,
It all depends on what you want to do. You installed the AS Java as an Add-in to take adavantage of the existing user base in your AS ABAP and to access the resource from the AS ABAP from a portal.
OK, but now you want to do something about SSO and enable kerberos logon. For this you need the kerberos principal name from your ADS. OK, authentication is not my strong suit, but here are some ideas you can try. By the way in SAP NetWeaver 7.1 there is a configuration to log on to the AS Java using logon data from an LDAP, but still use the backend AS ABAP. See Configuring the UME for Directory Service Sync with AS ABAP for details. However, since you are still using 7.0, let's stick with that for now.
1. Use the LDAP Sync of the AS ABAP function to synchronize the user data of the AS ABAP and your ADS. You must populate the AS ABAP user records with the kerberos principal name. Which ABAP field you populate with this value I am not sure. You would then have to adapt the following procedure to get this data into your AS Java: Configuring the UME when Using Non-ADS Data Sources.
2. Set up a second AS Java and portal with the ADS as the datasource. Then migrate your users from the old one to the new one. Unfortunately, the users have different user IDs on the AS Java and the AS ABAP, so you would have to maintain user mapping between the two systems.
3. Use SAP NetWeaver Identity Management Identity Center to distribute the user data between the systems.
Unfortunately this kind of configuration is not well documented. I will see if I can find someone who can comment on this kind of setup.

  • SSO configuration in BOBJ 4 with Active Directory

    Hi Experts,
    Our client wants to implement the BOBJ on AIX 7.1 box with oracle 11G and wants to configure the Active Directory authentication for the BOBJ.
    BI 7.0 is already implemented on AIX. I have searched a lot to find the relevant document for the same but unable to do but I found the doc for BOBJ on windows with AD but not sure if the method is similar for the AIX box, Could you please help me to find out the required doc and explain me what should be our approach to configure the same
    Also , Is it possible that if we configure the AD authentication for SAP BI and then used the SAP authentication in BOBJ side with importing the SAP role and BOBJ transports in SAP. Will BOBJ work for the user created in BI ?
    Kindly suggest.
    Regards
    Saurabh mishra

    Thanks Tim,
    Actually I haven't worked on the AD and LDAP side so can you please elaborate your sentence and can you also assist me with the guide required for this configuration or any other example document. I read the article on below link -
    http://sboblog.infotrust.dk/index.php/2010/05/21/active-directory-sso-on-sap-businessobjects-xi-3-1/
    but I believe that this will not applicable for me as we have BOBJ box on AIX.

  • Weblogic with Active Directory Authentication provider problem: DN for user ....: null

    I have a java application (SSO via SAML2) that uses Weblogic as a Identity Service Provider. All works well using users created directly in Weblogic. However, I need to add support for Active Directory. So, as per documentation:
    - I defined an Active Directory Authentication provider
    - changed it's order in the Authentication Providers list so that it comes first
    - set the control flag to SUFFICIENT and configured the Provider Specific; here's the concerned part in config.xml:
    <sec:authentication-provider xsi:type="wls:active-directory-authenticatorType">
            <sec:name>MyOwnADAuthenticator</sec:name>
            <sec:control-flag>SUFFICIENT</sec:control-flag>
            <wls:propagate-cause-for-login-exception>true</wls:propagate-cause-for-login-exception>

            <wls:principal>CN=tadmin,CN=wl,DC=at,DC=com</wls:principal>
            <wls:user-base-dn>CN=wl,DC=at,DC=com</wls:user-base-dn>
            <wls:credential-encrypted>{AES}deleted</wls:credential-encrypted>

            <wls:group-base-dn>CN=wl,DC=at,DC=com</wls:group-base-dn>
    </sec:authentication-provider>
    I configured a AD LDS instance(Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services) on a Windows Server 2008 R2. I created users and one admin user "tadmin" which was added to Administrators members. I also made sure to set msDS-UserAccountDisabled property to FALSE.
    After restarting Weblogic I can see that the AD LDS's users and groups are correctly fetched in Weblogic. But, when I try to connect with my application, using Username:tadmin and Password:<...> it does not work.
    Here's what I see in the log file:
    <BEA-000000> <LDAP Atn Login username: tadmin>
    <BEA-000000> <authenticate user:tadmin>
    <BEA-000000> <getConnection return conn:LDAPConnection {ldaps://10.20.150.4:5000 ldapVersion:3 bindDN:"CN=tadmin,CN=wl,DC=at,DC=com"}>

    <BEA-000000> <DN for user tadmin: null>
    <BEA-000000> <returnConnection conn:LDAPConnection {ldaps://10.20.150.4:5000 ldapVersion:3 bindDN:"CN=tadmin,CN=wl,DC=at,DC=com"}>

      at com.bea.common.security.internal.service.LoginModuleWrapper$1.run(LoginModuleWrapper.java:110)
    So, I tried to look why do I have: <DN for user tadmin: null>. Using Apache Directory Studio I reproduced the ldap search request used in Weblogic and, sure enough, I get no results. But, changing the filter to only "(&(cn=tadmin)(objectclass=user))" (NOTICE, no userAccountControl), it works; here's the result from Apache Directory Studio:
    #!SEARCH REQUEST (145) OK
    #!CONNECTION ldap://10.20.150.4:5000
    #!DATE 2014-01-23T14:52:09.324
    # LDAP URL     : ldap://10.20.150.4:5000/CN=wl,DC=at,DC=com?objectClass?sub?(&(cn=tadmin)(objectclass=user))
    # command line : ldapsearch -H ldap://10.20.150.4:5000 -x -D "[email protected]" -W -b "CN=wl,DC=at,DC=com" -s sub -a always -z 1000 "(&(cn=tadmin)(objectclass=user))" "objectClass"
    # baseObject   : CN=wl,DC=at,DC=com
    # scope        : wholeSubtree (2)
    # derefAliases : derefAlways (3)
    # sizeLimit    : 1000
    # timeLimit    : 0
    # typesOnly    : False
    # filter       : (&(cn=tadmin)(objectclass=user))
    # attributes   : objectClass
    #!SEARCH RESULT DONE (145) OK
    #!CONNECTION ldap://10.20.150.4:5000
    #!DATE 2014-01-23T14:52:09.356
    # numEntries : 1
    (the "[email protected]" is defined as userPrincipalName in the tadmin user on AD LDS)
    As you can see, "# numEntries : 1" (and I can see as result the entry "CN=tadmin,CN=wl,DC=at,DC=com"  in Apache Directory Studio's interface); if I add the userAccountControl filter I get 0.
    I've read that the AD LDS does not use userAccountControl but "uses several individual attributes to hold the information that is contained in the flags of the userAccountControl attribute"; among those attributes is msDS-UserAccountDisabled which, as I said, I already set to FALSE.
    So, my question is, how do I make it work? Why do I have "<DN for user tadmin: null>" ? Is it the userAccountControl ? If it is, do I need to do some other configuration on my AD LDS ? Or, how can I get rid of the userAccountControl filter in Weblogic?
    I didn't seem to find it in config files or in the interface: I only have "User From Name Filter: (&(cn=%u)(objectclass=user))", there's no userAccountControl.
    Another difference I noticed is that, even though in Weblogic I have set ssl-enabled flag to false, in the logs I see ldaps and not ldap ( I'm not looking to setup something production-ready and I don't want SSL for the moment ).
    Here are some other things I tried but did not change anything:
    - the other "msDS-" attributes were not set so I tried initializing them to some value
    - I tried other users defined in AD LDS, not tadmin
    - in Weblogic I added users that were imported from AD LDS in Roles and Policies> Realm Roles > Global Roles > Roles > Admin
    - I removed all userAccountControl occurrences that I found in xml files in Weblogic (schema.ms.xml, schema.msad2003.xml)
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks.

    I managed to narrow it down: the AD LDS does not support the userAccountControl.
    Anyone knows how I can configure my Active Directory Authentication Provider in Weblogic so that it does not implicitly use userAccountControl as filter?
    <BEA-000000> <getDNForUser search("CN=wl,DC=at,DC=com", "(&(&(cn=tadmin)(objectclass=user))(!(userAccountControl:1.2.840.113556.1.4.803:=2)))", base DN & below)>

  • Problems with Active Directory and Windows 2003

    Hello,
    I'm using Mac OS X Server 10.4.9 with Active Directory bound to a Windows 2003 Active Directory Domain. I can bind successfully to the domain using the graphical interface. Then in Samba I can access shared directories using Windows users. However, after some time somehow there are problems and Windows users aren't authenticated anymore on the Mac. I've looked at the firewall and there are no denied packets from the Mac. There are two servers in the domain, all clocks are synchronized and domain information is up to date. When I unbind the Mac, I can see the machine account being deleted on both domain servers and created too on both machines when I bind to the domain.
    Problems occur when I try login in using ssh or samba do I think this is a problem with the AD module.
    I turned on debugging messages on DirectoryServices:
    sudo killall -USR1 DirectoryService
    When in Windows, using the Administrator user I try:
    net use \\10.0.0.1 /user:domain\Administrator
    Where 10.0.0.1 is the Mac.
    In the Mac I get from
    tail -f /Library/Logs/DirectoryService/DirectoryService.debug.log |grep ADPlug

    I really don't know what to do. The Windows Event log shows no messages. The link used to work and there have been no changes in the domain servers.
    The key line seems to be:
    2007-06-27 10:48:43 CDT - ADPlugin: Failed getting credentials at line 2687 in ADSEngine.mm
    But I don't know what that ADSEngine.mm is.
    XServe G5   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Hello.
    Thanks for your reply.
    I tried the net use with a drive letter with and without the /user switch. When I use a domain user domain\user1 I can't connect. When I use a user local to the XServe it works.
    When I use
    net use x: \\10.0.0.1\share /user:domain\user1
    I get prompted for a password, but it doesn't work.
    I checked the firewall and all packets to or from the mac are accepted, no denied or dropped packages.
    I already went through the MS document on fw ports. Before I opened to Kerberos ports the binding failed. No the binding work OK.
    Some users who were authenticated yesterday still can access files using the Windows domain accounts. It's new users trying to connect those who have problems.
    This is what the Samba log.smbd log shows:

  • TFS 2010 with Active Directory 2012 R2

    Are there any known problems using TFS 2010 with Active Directory 2012 R2? Domain controllers are being updated from 2003 to 2012 R2, and the Domain/Forest mode will be set to AD DS Server 2012R2, value=6.
    James Bristow, Software Configuration Manager

    Hi James,
    Thanks for your post.
    Your AD 2012 R2 will running on your Windows Server 2012 R2 machine, right? Please note that: TFS 2010 not support Windows Server 2012 R2, so you cannot install TFS 2010 Server on this Windows Server 2012 R2 machine. Please refer to this document:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd578592.aspx.
    As far as I know TFS 2010 works fine with AD 2012 R2, so you can install your TFS 2010 another machine and use this AD 2012 R2 Server.

    I have set up security roles in my web.xml such as this:
    <security-role>
    <description>This role represents administrators of the system, see actor administrators</description>
    <role-name>administrators</role-name>
    </security-role>
    ..and mapped the roles to groups in sun-application as follows:
    <security-role-mapping>
    <role-name>administrators</role-name>
    <group-name>CMS_PM</group-name>
    <principal-name>rlancett</principal-name>
    </security-role-mapping>
    My user and group information is stored in Active Directory so I have tried to configure the ldap realm in the admin console to get it working. These are the settings i have put in:
    directory: ldap://earth.tier2consulting.com:389
    base-dn: cn=Users,dc=tier2consulting,dc=com
    jaas-context: ldapRealm
    search-bind-dn: cn=administrator,cn=Users,dc=domain,dc=com
    search-bind-password: ******
    search-filter: sAMAccountName=%s
    I get the error message :javax.naming.AuthenticationException: [LDAP: error code 49 - 80090308: LdapErr: DSID-0C09030B, comment: AcceptSecurityContext error, data 525, v893
    WARNING: va:850)
    FINEST: JAAS authentication aborted.
    INFO: SEC5046: Audit: Authentication refused for [administrator].
    I am pretty stuck on this having looked arounds all the forums:
    Has anyone got sun one app server using Active Directory to get user/group information for security roles?
    Thanks.

    Howdy,
    I don't have a solution to your problem, but maybe this tid-bit will help in debugging with Active Directory error messages. I'm new to AD, so excuse me if everyone already knows this, but...
    The error message you get back from the directory contains an error code in hexidecimal:
    LDAP: error code 49 - 80090308: LdapErr: DSID-0C09030B, comment: AcceptSecurityContext error, data 525, v893
    If you translate '525' from hex to decimal you get '1317' which is the error message you can look up here:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/debug/base/system_error_codes.asp
    1317 - ERROR_NO_SUCH_USER - The specified user does not exist.
    It took me a while to find this tip, so I thought I'd share it. Oh, and the easy way to get decimal from hexidecimal is:
    System.out.println( "Here is 525 in decimal: " + Integer.parseInt("525", 16));
    Okay, hope this helps somebody.
    Now it's up to you to find out why it can't find the administrator!

  • Integrate NAC Appliance with Active Directory

    We try to implement on our customer, NAC appliance integrating with Active Directory Single sign on.
    The NAC configured with L2 OOB. User first connect to switch and got the authentice Vlan, then the user will be authenticate using their domain account login, if success the user will be mapping to the Vlan assign to them.
    The agent SSO installed on Active Directory is running well, and at the CAS also the service SSO started.
    Let say i've this situation:
    1. User A has been assign to Vlan 15 Employee
    2. User A plug to switch and got dummy vlan and will authenticate using Domain account on AD, If succeded than, the port will be bounce, the user running an cisco agent on background
    3. Now user A has their on Vlan ID 15
    I've created the Authentication server on CAM for the Active Directory, but i've find it's so difficult to config mapping rules between user roles to Active directory. The guidance pdf how to implement NAC i've downloaded from cisco, not mention it how to mapping user roles to Active Directory...
    Has any one has been configured mapping rules user roles to Active directory?

    So you would create a mapping rule against your lookup server like so.
    Say the AD group membership is "Finance"
    for ADSSO you would apply the mapping rule to your LOOKUP Server
    where the expression is
    memberOf contains CN=Finance and apply it to role employee if VLAN 15 is your employee vlan then you would designate vlan 15 in your Employee role under user role configuration
    Now you cant test this with ADSSO with the test auth function so what I like to do is create an AD authentication server and test against that as long as you have some form of mapping configured the auth results will return all memberships for the userename you login with so you can get the syntax exactly right.

    Hi,
    I am working on configuring Microsoft ACtive Directory in WebLogic server 10.3.3. After configuration I couldn't see any AD users in myrealm-users.
    If there is any document / step-by-step tutorial available please provide me.
    Thanks

  • How to ACS 5.0.0.21 Expresss integrate with Active Directory Standar 2003 and authenticate PEAP MSCHAPV2

    Hi:
    My name is Ivan, I have a trouble
    I have a ACS 5.0.0.21 express, and i have to integrate with Active Directory (AD)  2003 Standar. I should authenticate the users of the Domain in the LAN with PEAP MSCHPAV2, using the follow:
    Cisco WLC 4402 + Cisco ACS 5.0.0.21 + Active Directory
    I need to know if i should to install a certificate in the ACS 5.0.0.21 or some agent remote install  in the AD.
    I put in the ACS a external database with the AD, and i already select the users on the domain in the ACS Express.
    Please could you tell me all the steps to autenticate the users on the Domain using the ACS Express and the Active Directory,
    I would like to know wich are the configuration that i have to do in my ACS express to authenticate using PEAP MSCHAPV2
    Regards
    Ivan

  • Cisco ISE Process Flow with Active Directory

    Hi guys,
    Today I did a lab and see this note at Authentication Policy Interface. This note is:
    Note: For authentications using PEAP, LEAP, EAP-FAST or RADIUS MSCHAP it is not possible to continue processing when authentication fails or user is not found. If continue option is selected in these cases, requests will be rejected.
    Then I thought that the best way to configure authetication policy for Flex Auth: Dot1x (with Active Directory) > MAB (Internal Endpoint) > CWA (Guest and other user) will be using EAP-TLS authentication protocol.
    Is this possible using another protocol instead of EAP-TLS (which is required client certificate has already been installed)? Would you mind helping me to reslove the problem? And the network authentication method at end user side will be?
    Any help will be much appreciated.

    Please refer the Supported Authentication Protocols ( including PEAP )  , database and authentication types from below

  • Integrating OEDQ with Active Directory - Disabling SSL

    Hi fellows,
    I've just installed OEDQ (latest release) on a Unix machine (deployed on WebLogic Server 10.3.6) but I've a couple of concerns:
    SSL Communication --> is it mandatory? I mean, I've tried to expose the dndirector admin page through an OHS Apache Web server. I'm able to access the admin page in plain mode but whenever I try to access a specific functionality (dashboard, user management, server configuration, etc) I'm being redirected to https://<web-server-hostname>:<wls-server-ssl-port>/dndirector, so this is not what I'm expecting. What's wrong? By the way, If SSL is mandatory, is there a way to expose the console via apache (avoiding any redirection)?
    OEDQ with Active Directory --> the following documentation -- Integrating OEDQ with Active Directory -- covers just the Single Sign-on configuration (on both Windows/Unix os). What about a simple configuration pointing to an external ldap? The documentation reports the following statement:
              It is also possible to configure OEDQ to work with different directory servers for user authentication and user identification. For information on alternative configurations, "see "Contact Us"
    So, how can I achieve that?
    Any pointers?
    Thanks in advance,
    Marco

    Hi Marco
    Was out of the office a bit - apologies for the delay.
    It looks like you removed these lines from the configuration:
    cdpad.auth
    = ldap
    cdpad.auth.bindmethod
    = digest-md5
    cdpad.auth.binddn
    = search: sAMAccountName
    If these are not present, the user name is combined with @cdpsede.cassaddpp.it and used to login into AD.  Depending on how user names are setup, this may or may not work.
    If you replace the lines above, then the user account is searched for against the AD UserPrincipalName or the sAMAccountName attributes.  The value of the latter attributre is then used as the login attempt.
    So for example, if you enter the user name if marco.bonadonna, EDQ would search for an AD entry with userPrincipalName = [email protected] or with sAMAccountName = marco.bonadonna and then it would use the value of the sAMAccountName attribute to connect to AD (using digest-md5 for encryption) along with the password.
    If you use
    cdpad.auth.binddn = search: dn
    then EDQ will use the full distiinguished name (DN) of the entry in the bind attempt.
    It is sometimes easier to test connections using a LDAP browser - Apache Directory Studio (see http://directory.apache.org/studio/) is one I use.  You can then check user name and password combination outside EDQ.
    You can also get additional server logging on LDAP interactions in EDQ by adding the line:
    userauth.level = all
    to the logging.properties file in the EDQ config directory.  Then where will be lots of diagnostics in the EDQ main0,log file.
    By the way, there is some documentation for this in the on-line help for EDQ.

  • Issue with Active Directory User Target Recon

    Hi ,
    I am facing an issue with Active Directory User Target Recon
    My environment is OIM 11g R2 with BP03 patch applied
    AD Connector is activedirectory-11.1.1.5 with bundle patch 14190610 applied
    In my Target there are around 28000 users out of which 14000 have AD account (includes Provisioned,Revoked,Disabled accounts)
    When i am running Active Directory User Target Recon i am not putting any filter cleared the batch start and batch size parameters and ran the recon job .Job ran successfully but it stopped after processing around 3000 users only.
    Retried the job two three times but every time it is stopping after processing some users but not processing all the users.
    Checked the log file oimdiagnostic logs and Connector server logs cannot see any errors in it.
    Checked the user profile of users processed can see AD account provisioned for users
    My query is why this job is not processing allthe users.Please point if i am missing some thing .
    thanks in advance

    Check the connector server load when you are running the recon. Last time I checked the connector, the way it was written is that it loads all the users from AD into the connector server memory and then sends them to OIM. So if the number was huge, then the connector server errored out and did not send data to OIM. We then did recon based on OUs to load/link all the users into OIM. Check the connector server system logs and check for memory usage etc.

  • Single Signon and Integration with Active Directory

    Hi,
    We have a requirement to integrate Active Directory with SAP and implement Single Signon solution. Our Active Directory is running on Windows 2003 and we are having systems 4.7 , ECC6.0 which run on Linux OS in our landscape.
    Can anyone of you help me by answering following questions
    1. Is there any need of any third party solution(tool) to integrate  Active Directory and SAP and activate single signon?
    2.Is there any difference in integration from SAP 4.7 and ECC6.0 of SAP on Linux OS with Active Directory ?
    3. If possible please share any documents or links on above issue.
    Suitable answers will be rewarded with points. Thanks in advance for your help

    I'm sorry, you'd have to ask Realtech for that document in English.
    Basically you can follow

  • Tighter Integration with Active Directory User Groups

    I just wrapped up a Jabber deployment with IM&P 9.1(1) and J4W clients 9.1(3).
    The customer asked me if it is on Cisco's roadmap to allow groups in Active Directory to be pulled into the Jabber client.  The primary business case is to allow those in IT to send out IM blasts to the corporation or certain departments.
    Obviously, this would require a significant amount of development and a much tighter integration with Active Directory, but I need to ask anyway.
    Has something like this been identified and placed on any roadmap?
    Thanks,
    Matthew Berry

    Unfortunately this kind of questions cannot be addressed here, roadmap questions need to go thru official channels for an answer.
    You need to reach your SE/AM for this question.
